I came here for dinner with my son. After waiting a long time to be greeted at the front door we were directed to a severely wobbly table in the back. We decided to move to the next table over since no one was around. We were promptly reprimanded by a rude waitress. She stood next to me with a dish in her hand and told me to get up so she could get through with a scowl on her face. Even though she could have went around, I compiled and got up. After making a fool of me (I am a senior citizen) we moved to another table and were served. After the meal, she conveniently forgot to bring me back my change from the bill. I needed to ask the manager for my change. He had nothing to offer but to say he was sorry and defended her. I have been to hundreds of restaurants and this is the last time I would ever go here. This spot has improved so much from years ago. I stopped going here because we would stand at the bar that was not busy, and not even be acknowledged by the bar tenders. Usually female. They were horrible. I mean waiting 10 minutes to have an order taken and we had to call out for their attention! This is your neighborhood sports bar. A posted signs states "wait to be seated".We waited to be seated quite awhile before a patron told the barmaid we were there. The wings are decent at .30 cents each... not top notch as others reviewed. The sauce is poured over the wings and left in the dish....we ordered mild. Sweet Potato fries were good. It's MNF arrived at 9pm. It's busy and had to wait to be seated, which is not an issue. I sat at the bar to watch the game and order drinks. I asked the female bartender for an "Old Fashion", and her response was not right now!?!? It wasn't that busy. Perhaps they need to hire faster more efficient bartenders that can handle volume and/or some what busier nights. Now that's bad for sales since I always frequent the Croxley's establishments. Nice place - excellent barkeep Karen knew her beers. Pointed me to several that is never had and are now memorable (in a good way). Was skeptical on 10 cent boneless or 20 cent boned wings, but it's the real deal. Got the hot boneless (I'm a cheapskate) but I'd go for the regular next time and for a might warmer next time, and there definitely will be a next time. Great selection of beers, and local ones which I'd never had before. Gonna have to visit the Great South Bay and Barrier breweries soon. Parking wasn't too bad. Went here for St. Paddy's Day with a couple friends. There were some college and NBA basketball games on, and the wings were flowing. I haven't eaten here in a while. In the past I swore by their wings. Today the wings were on the drier side. The mac and cheese was eh. They slabbed on a square slice of cheese on top of it that was barely melted. The fries were the best thing we ordered. The quesidilla was also nothing special. I have been to this location many times. I live nearby, I was there just a few days ago. It's always been a pleasurable experience. Very friendly bartenders and waitresses . Tonight was not a good experience. We were seated and our waitress took some time to come over. When she did we placed our orders, apps and entree with drinks. We got our drinks in a timely manner and after that the we waited over 40 minutes to get any food or even the waitress asking if we needed anything. She walked by us many times to serve others, some who came after us and received there food. Eventually I flagged her down and asked for the bill for our drinks because we wanted to leave due to the service. She said she will go check on the food and my friend told her if the food is ready now we will take it. She comes back minutes later with the food and had an attitude. The plates were cold and the food was warm, clearly she forgot about us even though she walked past us many times to serve everyone else. Never asked if we wanted more drinks or anything else. She left the food and ignored us until we asked for the bill. We had to go to the bar to pay cause she never came back to take the payment and when she handed me the receipt to sign she gave me a nasty look, I still tipped because it's the right thing to do. While we were walking out she walked past my friend and I and gave us both nasty looks. I enjoy going to croxleys and it's always been great, I live blocks away. This review isn't to bash croxleys but to speak of the service. This female waitress who was fairly young and served on the back end of the bar in the front was terrible. No customer service, no attention to the customers and made us feel unwanted. What turned out to be a night of celebration for my friend sons for making the honor roll was ruined. We had friends coming to meet us and I told them about the service and they chose to go somewhere else and we left to meet them. If the owner or manger would like to contact me to speak about this matter they can freely do so. I'm not looking for anything free or discounts. I won't be going back to croxleys after tonight and no longer taking friends there. There are too many local places nearby I can support and I will not get treated like this. Just my experience at this location. I will say on my earlier visit this week the waitress who said she also works at the Rockville center location mostly was amazing. read more

This place was a favorite hangout of my fellow coworkers and we came here quite often. They have an excellent selection of beers from the UK to satisfy quite a few palates. One night of the week (I believe it's Wednesday but I could be wrong,) is wing night, when this place gets packed to the nines and it may take an hour to get seating since the wings are a lot cheaper than usual (I can't remember the price.) The food is standard bar fare; it's not wholly memorable and for some items, the portion sizes don't seem to justify the price. There are plenty of seats for a regular week night, and there's a plethora of flat screen TV's and bar space to watch games. If you have a large crowd and want to just have a good time, this is a great place to go. read more

Let me begin by saying I have some pretty high standards when it comes to any sort of chicken wings, particularly if they are hot wings and i plan to review a lot of wing places in the future so i want to set the bar with the most amazing wing place in long island. I came here just after my 21st birthday because my friend thought i would like it. Boy was he right! This place has at least 50+ different types of beer to choose from and a truly amazing appetizer called Irish Nachos. These cheese-covered french fries are also generously covered in scallions and bacon, this is an absolute must each time we go, i recommend you try them. For the main attraction you have the wings. The first thing you find out is that during certain days of the week (back then it was something like Tuesdays and Thursdays) there are wing specials where you can get wings for 10 cents each, which requires that you spend something like $5 on drinks. Basically you can come here and eat 20 wings and have a beer for $7 (Plus tax and tip), which i figured was probably because the wings would be just "okay" or super small or something of that nature. To my surprise when my order of 20 "crybaby" wings came (i'll cover the crybaby sauce shortly) i received a plate of 20 large, beautifully cooked wings. The wings were cooked to have a slightly crispy skin and also maintain a nice juicy and meaty chicken inside. I am dead serious when i say these are some of the best wing's I have ever eaten. As I said previously i came here just shortly after my 21st birthday and I have returned here at least once a week for 2 years straight (and i have my card statements to prove it!). As i mentioned in previous reviews i absolutely love spicy food as well as hot sauces, when i found out that Croxley's has a sauce they call "cry like a baby" I had to try to eat 20 wings coated in the sauce (the chef doesn't always make the "cry like a baby" sauce so just be aware it's not always an available choice). The "cry like a baby" sauce is made daily by chefs using habanero peppers and is the spiciest sauce they have. I remember eating the wings and saying "wow these are actually hot." My girlfriend, who was the person i was telling this to, caught a whiff of my wings and her eyes burst into the tears from the spice, and from that moment on she has referred to them as "mace wings." The crybaby wings were definitely spicy considering they were made from habanero, more importantly they were also delicious. There was a sweet tang to the sauce and the great balance of pepper flavor to vinegar. Going down from the Crybaby wings you have Hot x2 (or hot-squared as i order them), Hot, medium and mild. Normally when hot sauce for wings are made there is a balance that is reached between pepper, vinegar and butter. Usually at cheaper wing places they tend to be very butter heavy with their milder sauces (as sauces get milder, then usually tend to include larger quantities of butter, just like hotter sauces are comprised of lower quantities of butter and a greater quantity of pepper), Croxley Ales tends to start their mildest sauce to be more spicy than what people are probably used to as they use very little butter. This allows for a much tastier sauce that just gets more delicious as you turn up the heat. I still visit Croxley's frequently and this is still my absolute favorite place to go have dinner with my fiancee or my friends or even to have a party. Croxley Ales is a well Deserved 5 stars and is well worth the 30+ minute trip out there! Give it a try! read more

This is a great little pub, with a huge selection of hand crafted beers. You could spend quite a while getting familiar with all of the brews that they offer. The food is also quite good, if not somewhat basic pub fare. Try the wings, they are twenty cents each most nights, and they are about as close as you get to the real Buffalo wings, as made in Frank and Theresas Anchor Bar in Buffalo. Croxleys has several locations, I can't vouch for the quality at the others, but the Franklin Square location hits the spot. Go for it. read more

Not a good bar for you if you think Budweiser is real beer (it is good for putting out a campfire, though). Great selection of American micro-brews to tempt any palette. Monday to Wednesday, they have ten cent chicken wings from 5pm. The place is usually packed on these nights. The wait is usually 45 minutes to an hour, but it is well worth it. Parking could be an issue, but I usually get lucky on the private streets around the bar. read more
