We ordered our food to go but sat at a table to eat as we were looking to be in and out and the server was rude about it when she brought our food. The "manager" then came over pretending to offer silverware asking us if we needed them to "finish up whatever this is". Sir...it's a group of girls quickly and politely eating the food they just paid for. Very weird interaction and behavior on their part. Our Airbnb host suggested this place. The vibe is so cute and the staff so friendly! I went in there standing at the wrong end of the line. I realized that and went to the right end. Once I was finally in front of the counter, the staff inside the counter realized I was at the wrong end earlier and was so apologetic that it didn't occur to her to let me know. She felt so bad and decided to put the 2 cold brews I ordered on her and didn't charge me for the drinks. I was so surprised because she absolutely didn't have to do that since I was the one who stood at the wrong end earlier! Anyway, they couldn't be nicer! The food is also wonderful. The good reviews don't lie! The first come, first serve seating seems hectic at first, but have faith, tables open up! Busy energy radiates throughout this modern, brick-interior spot. It's almost kinda garage-like -- there's lots of natural light! I ordered the Newport Benedict, which only appears on the menu on the weekends. If you're lucky enough to be at cru on a Saturday or Sunday, don't hesitate and order this!! It's a great deal -- two crab cakes atop English muffins with hash AND salad on the side all for $13.95. My one complaint (and reason behind deducting one star) is that the poached eggs weren't runny, they had a hard boiled egg consistency instead. I was a little (who am I kidding, a lot!) let down when I cut into them. That yolk over crab cakes would've been decadent! It was also awesome to be able to enjoy the complimentary coffee bar! This I was the the best choice I could find for a casual lunch nearby the Tennis Hall of Fame. It was crowded as expected with a line to stand in for ordering; it was hard to find a table before noon on a Sunday. We managed to snag one outside after temporarily sitting at one inside (felt too stuffy and hot to sit inside). Prices were very reasonable - everyone liked what they got. Service was friendly. There is not enough parking to support this business in this location !! There are other business in the area too who deserves their paces too. You can not find a place to park and people put there cars anywhere they can. Fire lane is full of there customers. You can not park in the stop n shop either. Good food with nice people.! Delicious Cru chicken sandwich!! See pictures attached. One of the best chicken sandwiches I have had in a very long time. Did a side of large size classic tots and it was definitely a huge portion and more then enough for 2 people. Came with 2 sauces to dip. Wish I would of discovered sooner this place during my stay. I would of ate daily. Cute place does close early 5pm. You have to turn in off the street it's a little hidden off the main road. A few minutes from the busy Newport marina. And close to the cliff walk and mansions. There is a big parking lot right there that you pay to park. I didn't park or pay as I had a person just wait in the car and did a quick pick up. Order was already packed and waiting for me. Covid safety- Staff and customers were all wearing masks thankfully. There was a sanitizer bottle when you as soon as you walked inside to the left on a table as well. I felt safe and social distanced from other customers. The woman who helped me was kind on the phone and in person very helpful even offered to help me carry my food and drinks to my car but I was okay. Thankful for the gesture. There is seating outside in front with a few bench style seating that was filled but passing through still felt safe. There is 1 bathroom. Love the homemade iced tea and lemonade. I did Arnold Palmers and a fruit cup as well. I will definitely be back for everything I ordered and try many more items but definitely can't rave enough about the cru chicken sandwich. After I had dropped some friends off here a few weeks ago for lunch, I decided to give it a shot this week when some other friends and I were looking for a good coffee/lunch spot. During nice weather you can enjoy your breakfast or lunch outside at picnic tables. During cooler months space is limited but there are tables available inside for dining in. Bathroom is a single, unisex bathroom but it's clean. Today I waited in a line, and there was quite a line still when I finished. Something to keep in mind! They have chalkboard menus and offer breakfast and lunch options during all hours. They have sandwiches to eggs benedict. Prices are on par with Newport. Today I opted for a confetti scone which was amazing. Just the right flavor combo and the perfect level of crispy outside, soft inside. Iced latte was ok, probably would get cold brew next time. Several of my friends have raved about the cold brew. My espresso tasted a little burnt in my latte. My friends got sandwiches and were pleased with portions and flavors. We'll be back! read more

I didn't know what to get bc the menu was so expansive and asked my cashier what she would recommend for lunch and she said the Crabby Patty Burger (2 crab cakes, slaw, pickle, and a sauce of some sort). Love this spot! I'm visiting Newport for the first time, and my boyfriend and I decided to swing by this place for lunch because of the great reviews. I got the pastrami egg sandwich, which was not only very reasonably priced but the most delicious breakfast sandwich I've had maybe ever. It was amazing.
