Absolutely loved this place! We got a few different items off the menu and really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend of course making a reservation but service was great. It's a nice dinner spot, a bit dark inside to add to the ambiance. Everything was so warm and cooked to perfection. The bread was insanely fresh and steamy. The mashed potatoes were creamy and would highly recommend. We got our cut to be medium and I thought it was perfect. The pasta was delicious for anyone looking for an alternative outside of meat. The broccolini was perfectly steamed and seasoned. The ahi tuna cigars were sooo delicious would highly recommend. Both desserts were delicious as well!

Visited Fia for a birthday! Everything went so smoothly, I will absolutely be back! There is valet parking right in front of the restaurant, inside is very intimate and sleek. Not noisy at all so everyone can enjoy their evening. We were seated in a booth and everything was very nicely set up and we got a nice view of the bar and where the magic happens. Our waiter Curtis was very professional and educated on the menu; very kind and helpful with recommendations. He was also dressed professional and was very composed all evening. We kept the evening very simple and started with bread and butter, I will never know what this bread was coated with but it tasted heavenly, paired with rich easy melting butter this made the perfect bite. Plated very nicely, this is a safe starter to any dinner here. Curtis gifted us these stuffed tortellini's that were garnished with black truffle, chefs kiss. For our entrees I enjoyed a New York strip and my guest enjoyed the bone in ribeye on the menu, they both came with different sauces that paired nicely with each cut; we shared the truffle potatoes which were smooth and not truffle forward if anyone is sensitive to that earthy taste it sometimes gives. Birthday desert was a chocolate soufflé, be advised this does take some time to prepare so it's always a good idea to let your waiter know ahead of time so they can course it for you. Overall the evening was everything I hoped it was going to be. Curtis was attentive all evening and that is a big plus for me! Thank you Fia Steak, I will be back soon.

I visited Fia Steak for dinner on February 11th and it ended up being one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in a long time. The atmosphere immediately stood out -- it has a warm European-style charm that feels elegant without being stiff. Cozy lighting, intimate spacing, and a relaxed energy made it easy to settle in and enjoy the evening. The food was exceptional across the board. The caviar cigar and caviar set were highlights -- rich, refined, and perfectly balanced rather than overwhelming. The Branzino was beautifully cooked with clean flavors and great texture. For dessert, the chocolate soufflé was outstanding -- you rarely see soufflé offered anymore, and this one was done properly: light, airy, and deeply chocolatey. We also ordered another dessert (name unfortunately forgotten) that included three cream puffs each topped with a scoop of ice cream. Before serving, the staff performed a flame presentation -- almost like a small tableside ceremony -- which was both entertaining and theatrical, and it actually tasted as good as it looked. Service deserves special recognition. Our server, a well-dressed gentleman whose name I sadly didn't catch, delivered truly outstanding hospitality. He consistently checked on our experience in a natural, non-intrusive way and clearly cared about the guests enjoying the night. His professionalism elevated the entire dinner. Between the ambiance, memorable dishes, and attentive service, this was a restaurant experience rather than just a meal. I will absolutely be coming back -- both for the food and for that level of service.

Please reconsider this restaurant before you go. I rarely leave reviews, but our experience at Fia Steak on the evening of my boyfriend's birthday was so disappointing, I had to share. To start, the sampler tortellini was severely undercooked. Not just al dente, but visibly raw in texture. While the flavor was okay, it was barely edible. Unfortunately, things only got worse from there. My boyfriend ordered the New York strip medium-rare, and I ordered the filet mignon medium. His steak arrived completely raw inside, cold and visibly undercooked throughout. After cutting into multiple parts to confirm, we called the waitress over. She acknowledged how raw it was and assured us it would be remade quickly. Shockingly, it came back in under a minute, clearly the same exact plate, with the steak pieces still arranged as he had left them. The outside had been slightly seared, but the inside remained raw. It seemed microwaved, an absolutely unacceptable practice for any restaurant, let alone one of this caliber. When it was still undercooked, only the largest piece of the strip was taken back in a small dish to be reheated, which felt odd and unprofessional. At that point, we asked for a completely fresh steak, but we had already lost our appetites and decided to leave. We were told the meal would be comped, and I said I'd gladly pay for what we actually consumed, which was one cocktail and the bread/butter. So I was shocked when the bill came out to over $90, and even more surprised to see charges for the mashed potatoes and broccolini, which we never got a chance to eat alongside our inedible steaks. I had scooped a small amount of potatoes onto my plate (which I didn't touch), and both sides were cleared before we could respond or ask to box them. My boyfriend even said aloud, "I didn't get to try them." We ate virtually nothing, just one piece of bread each, one cocktail, and a single bite of the filet mignon. That bite alone was enough to tell something was off, the flavor and texture weren't right, and it didn't taste fresh. It was hard to put my exact finger on, but I felt like I would be sick if I ate it. I've ordered filet mignon at countless steakhouses and fine dining establishments, and this one made me question the handling and quality of the meat. What makes this worse is that I had called ahead, emailed, and left notes on OpenTable trying to make the night feel special since we were celebrating a birthday. Instead, it turned into a scramble to find a last-minute replacement restaurant, which changed our evening plans and let to us having to canceled our post dinner activity. The mood of the night shifted entirely. While the manager kindly gave us his card and invited us to return, we unfortunately won't be coming back. He was pushy and made me feel a little bit uncomfortable to be entirely honest. I truly hate writing reviews like this just as much as the team probably hates receiving them, but this experience was unacceptable and shocking at just how bad it was. $100 total for bread and a cocktail is also insane. Please reconsider dinner at Fia Steak unless you want raw, low quality, microwaved steak. I truly wish I was kidding.

The service was excellent, Sean and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to give us a very personal and memorable experience, which added to the overall cozy atmosphere. The food was excellent, it felt like every bite was an experience in itself. I especially appreciated how everyone we interacted with took the time to explain the ingredients and how each dish came together.

One of the best steaks I ever had, I even think it surpassed Spago. We ordered the upper prime tomahawk and Branzino to share amongst our group, along with a few sides and appetizers. Finally, ended with 3 of their desserts and their complimentary sweets. Note, the appetizers are minuscule. Meal wasn't cheap so recommend for special occasion.

    Tuna Cigars

This is a great place to go for great food, drinks, and service! The staff were quite informative, and hospitable. (which is unfortunately rare to come across anymore) This elevated the dining experience as well. We especially loved the intimate moody old Hollywood vibe of the dining room. Every dish we ordered was delicious. Although I equally loved each for their unique flavor palate, there are two items I would 100% order each time... The tuna cigars and the sticky toffee pudding. Just perfection!!

Very disappointing meal. We had reservations and still had to awkwardly wait at the bar for half an hour because there was no where else to wait. They offered us a glass of champagne after 15 minutes but I would have rather been seated on time. Foie gras 5/5: Can't really go wrong with foi gras. Bread was good and generous portions Oysters 1/5: The cucumber mint gratin was disgusting and we had to scrape it off in order to eat it Spicy ahi tuna cigars 2/5: Seemed more for show than for flavor. Fell short and for the price it was very disappointing. Did not like the sauces on top either Steak tartare 3/5: This was the best app we got. Enjoyed the mustard seeds and the same bread as the foie gras. Docked a point for the green sauce on the side that was for decoration bc the flavor did not match with the tartare. I personally don't like plate dressings that are not harmonious with the dish. Ribeye 5/5: At least the steak itself was perfectly cooked. The sides were good as well. Pretty standard for steakhouses. Drinks 0/5: The cocktails actually pissed me off. My drink was so bad that I watched the bartenders and realized all their cocktails were premixed???? At over $20 a cocktail????? They were just adding liquor to pre made mixes. Are you fucking joking??? It's one thing if it tasted good but it was horrible and not balanced at all. Overall, for the price I don't think it was worth it. I have a strong aversion to food that looks pretty but doesn't taste good, especially with the price tag. Service was great, but I will never dine here again. You pay for ambiance, cuz it's definitely not for the food.

This is probably one of the best meals I have had in my life. (And I've had a lot of amazing meals) I was blown away by the creativity, the execution, and the immense flavor from everything we ate. We sat at the bar, the service was incredible. Shout out to Dustin for being an incredible bartender. We had a drink at the outdoor bar. It was so beautiful. They have happy hour! Didn't even know. We will be back. Come eat here before they get a Michelin star, and you can never get in again. For real.

We came for a company dinner for a full course meal earlier this year. Everything was excellent. I absolutely enjoyed every appetizer, sides, and the main course Branzino. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many sushi items in the appetizer and they were all delicious! The bread and butter were fancy too, with special salt and oil to dip them in. These company dinners are where I get to have the fanciest meals of the year :) I enjoyed this group occasion at Fia and would recommend it!

Quaint restaurant perfect for an intimate dinner. We had a reservation and were seated immediately by a friendly host. Our wait was so helpful, funny, chatty, and eccentric..it really added to our overall experience. What really attracted me any my friend to this place was the tuna topped with caviar and gold flakes, and it did not disappoint! Party in your mouth. We shared a small pot of soup and puff pastry, followed by a lovely steak and scalloped potatoes. Everything was delightful. I think it was like $140 for a very small steak so be prepared for a hefty tab. Fortunately it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Interesting drink menu, some better than others, but something for everyone. Fia Steak is a gem.

This review is well overdue. I accidentally booked FIA not FIA STEAK my bad but they managed to squeeze us in on a Friday night which is wild.... Everything was delicious from the sides to the steak to the risotto to the oysters. Honestly it's a perfect place for a date night. The inside room is intimate and beautiful where the outside is a little more lively. We will be back!!!!

The best meal I've had in Los Angeles by far. Upon arrival and opening the front door you get a sense that you're in for something unique and cool. Staff is very attentive and friendly. We were taken cared of by Samantha. She provided us with the specials of massive porterhouse steak (I believe it was 40oz? - 12 oz bone) and others. She shared her faves and really helped make us feel excited about all the food to come. The night went smoothly, the ambience was chill and relaxed. Dim lit lighting with pop culture portraits lining the walls. Everyone in the restaurant was having a good time and sharing in discussions. Not really a great place for kids though... too dark and cramped to worry about small kids running around, though the yelling and screaming would be drowned out by the conversations all around. On to the food... For the nights order: Starters: Spicy ahi tuna cones, caviar, gold leaf -I love sushi and these were a wonderful start to the meal. Not too heavy, but easy to share. The caviar was a nice touch for saltiness with the sweet and spicy ahi following after. The gold piece was definitely and ego booster- I ate something with a hint of 'purity' lol Hamachi crudo, lime leaf, coconut dressing, serranos, finger limes - this was a citrusy, spicy, and coconut curry flavored dish that was so good. If I could, I would order 3 of these. The hamachi was light and melted in your mouth while the other flavors just filled your senses with vibrant flavors! Good balance of flavors for sure! Main: Prime bone-in ribeye, Pommes Gaufrettes, Creekstone farms, 22oz Side order of peppercorn sauce. - the steak is shown to you prior to cooking it. It was massive, with a nice sized cap on the ribeye. I ordered it as the chef would want it- med rare. It came out perfect. Juicy. Flavor filled. Melting like butter in your mouth. Honestly this could've been eaten without any additional sauces, but the sauce it came with as well as the peppercorn sauces were so complimentary in their own way. This steak was enough to share with my wife (especially with all the other dish orders we had). This steak was freaking delicious. I mean if I could kiss the chef I would... so good! Sides: Miso glazed shiitake mushrooms - I enjoy miso glazed anything and so this dish peaked my interest. It was soft and lightly chewy. It was a substantial amount of mushrooms that were prepared. You could basically get full off of these. Sweet and savory. A definite must-try for miso lovers and mushroom lovers. Fia Steak truffle mashed potatoes -as soon as you have the plate placed on the table the smell of truffles fills the air and you are watering at the mouth. Soft, creamy, with small chunks of mashed potatoes. Easily mixed in with sauces, steak, mushrooms, etc. It was a safe choice to have on the table :) Dessert: 30 min prep (order at the start) Chocolate soufflé, Mankato chocolate, Grand Marnier Anglaise - the dessert was hot and fresh. The milk was poured over the soufflé and it was just beautiful. The taste soft and velvety. Warm and cozy with each bite. I wish I were at home watching a fave movie eating this soufflé. Just a dessert hit for sure. Chocolatey and warm. There were complimentary bread sticks and red pepper Fougasse (similar to focaccia bread). This came with salt, butter, and A5 wagyu steak spread (similar to the au jus and steak fat in solid form) to smother on your bread. It reminds me of Filipino chicken/pork adobo sauce when you put it in the fridge and it gets slightly firmer. This isn't off putting to me bc I love that flavor and it was just a great home cooking flavor I'm used to. A truffle soup with porcini mushroom was provided at the start as well. A perfect tasting starter to begin the meal- it had a rich flavor. At the end of the meal Samantha provided some sweet treats to end the night. I thought that was a perfect end to our night. However we were treated to another surprise which I won't mention in this review as I don't want to give a spoiler if you should be so fortunate to be given a special secret invitation ;) All in all, Fia Steak is an amazing place to have a splurge celebration with a loved one or two ( maybe a small party). The manager, Katie, was also so friendly and accommodating- she helped make the night even more special! It's definitely a premium price for the premium service, ambience, and quality of food. 5 stars for this wonderful establishment. My wife and I Will. Visit. Again! Thanks for everything!

We started with the steak tartare, which was probably the best tartare we've ever had. The butcher's bread nearly stole the show--we ordered two of them and will absolutely be coming back just for the bread. For entrées, I ordered the 12-ounce thick-cut New York Wagyu. It was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, and ranks among the best New York steaks I've ever had. We also ordered the 30-day dry-aged bone-in ribeye, which had an incredible nutty, buttery flavor and was equally impressive. The oysters were outstanding--fresh, clean, and exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant owned by a team known for doing seafood right. My daughter ordered the meatballs, which were also delicious. A nice bonus: they offer complimentary corkage for the first bottle, so I brought a French red that paired beautifully with the steaks. Overall, Ocean exceeded our expectations. Outstanding food, great atmosphere, attentive service, and a comfortable noise level that made conversation easy. We will definitely be back.

(There's 1 main dish I didn't care for -- but can't even remember what was.) The wonderful ambiance, enhanced by friendly, attentive & fun servers (+ enticing happy hour prices) are the driving reasons I continue to return. Sometimes I bring my laptop and can do my work while comfortably enjoying happy hour....... and then I'll stay for dinner too. I live in the neighborhood and I'm appreciative of Massilia's delicious hospitality.

We had what I believe was a 7PM reservation and got seated right away on a Saturday night inside an absolutely stunning restaurant. It's on the darker side in here (which I personally like), is absolutely massive with both indoor and outdoor seating, and had such a friendly staff I now personally consider our waiter a family member and my new Uncle. The menu here has a a great selection of french dishes, pasta dishes, appetizers, and desserts to top it off (even though I was too stuffed for that). For an appetizer the table ordered the Pan Con Tomate with Prosciutto and even though it's not something I would of personally picked, I did enjoy the small amount I had. For a main course I went with one of my favourite dishes of all time, Steak Frites! Massilia did not skimp on portions here or kill you with price. The steak itself was served with an absolutely amazing chimichurri sauce and a boat load of french fries. Every aspect of the plate was incredible and for $32? Yeah, I'll be coming back in the future. The steak was served rare and was absolutely mouth watering while the french fries were crispy and had great flavour. Overall, Massilia was perfect choice for dinner and an absolute gem in Santa Monica. The atmosphere and restaurant were amazing, the staff was delightful, and the food was perfect. I couldn't recommend this place more if I wanted too, I'll definitely be back in the future!

Parking: Easy metered street parking or Santa Monica public parking garages have reasonable rates…read more Reservation: Easy to make online using Tock but walk-ins also doable Service: Really on top of it - menus provided right away, no long waits for food, friendly servers and hostess, my water was always refilled, and plates were taken away as soon as they were done Ambiance: The front is a nondescript black door right next to the Chevron along Wilshire and inside is a nice atmosphere with a Samurai in a display case, bar seating along the side, and dark minimalistic interior. Food: Really appreciate that there are plenty of non alcoholic and mocktail options since very few places have such a variety. The poppin' lychee with mint was delicious. Mentaiko udon - very light, subtle flavor; wish it had a stronger mentaiko presence though not too creamy which I liked Toro sushi taco - good amount of quality toro though wasabi is mixed inside which wasn't my preference Sunomono cucumber salad with wakame seaweed - not bad though even with the HH price, the portion was small and not worth it in my opinion Aburi shime saba - seared cured mackerel that was torched tableside was fun and the searing to order gave a freshly smoky flavor while the fish itself was cold so it had good contrast Sashimi mori - thick portioned cuts of good quality fish served on ice to keep cool and they're able to accommodate the amount to the number of people sharing; fish changes depending on availability but salmon, scallop, and yellowtail were good, wasn't crazy about the sweet soy sauce for the chutoro, sea bream not bad, bonito was smoky Kakuni pork belly taco - not overly heavy and really good flavors Corn ribs with shoyu butter - such a delicious glaze and crisp texture outside, super unique in flavor Hojicha creme brulee - really love hojicha and they infused it so well into the creme brulee with solid tea flavor that balanced really well so it wasn't too sweet Wagyu meatballs with onion soy reduction - personally love caramelized onions and they did such a good job getting the rich, sweet flavor out; it wasn't overwhelming since I broke down the meatball to soak up the sauce Edamame - sea salt and lime gave it good seasoning and portion was worth it for HH Honmaguro salmon - sashimi was good but pricey for the small portion Honmaguro bluefin tuna - sashimi was good but also pricey for the portion, though the cuts were thicker than the salmon so slightly preferable Poke taco - good amount of poke on a seaweed "tortilla" which was really worth it for HH Bluefin tuna nigiri set - good flavor and quality though toro chewier Premium nigiri set - absolute favorite from here though sadly was only a seasonal special; toro with caviar was amazing, sweet shrimp melted in my mouth with how tender it was and ikura was great, and the seared scallop was smoky with uni on top Negitoro with garlic bread - solid though prefer without cream and wasabi personally Karaage - super juicy and flavorful with dark meat used so it didn't need sauce Garlic shrimp - good with garlic chili crisp on top and great size Wagyu curry - good curry with a spicy kick that's not overpowering though the wagyu is ground beef so hard to distinguish the quality Dan dan noodles - prominent peanut flavor Omakase - Caesar's salad was great without cheese or heavy ranch and crisps on top for texture, seared cured mackerel always good, sashimi was thick cuts of sea bream, bonito, and bluefin tuna which were good, mussels and clams had great flavor from sauce, corn rib in shoyu butter and tempura battered shrimp with chili mayo was one of my favorite courses since the shoyu butter flavor and texture on the corn is so delicious and the shrimp was well cooked, the black cod was subtle in flavor and I was pleasantly surprised that it came with a sweet potato puree and roasted tomato as well as crispy skin and had that smokiness, wagyu meatball was great as usual, wagyu curry was super filling, miso soup great palate cleanser, and mango sticky rice sorbet was a bit too hard in texture for me personally and not enough mango Skip: mentaiko udon, sunomono cucumber salad with wakame seaweed, honmaguro salmon and bluefin tuna, dan dan noodles Would order again: HH edamame, HH poke taco, HH kakuni pork belly taco Must orders: hojicha creme brulee, aburi shime saba (seared cured mackerel), corn ribs, wagyu meatball (if you love caramelized onions), karaage I've been here four times now and have to say the $70 happy hour omakase (typically $80) was my favorite experience here so far although my favorite bites were from their seasonal special when the $20 nigiri premium set was offered. They have all day happy hour on Sundays and Mondays which is really nice to not worry about a cutoff and late night on Fridays and Saturdays from 9-10:30pm in addition to Tuesdays - Fridays 5-6:30pm and Saturdays 4-6pm. The omakase does end 30 min before happy hour does though!!

There's a TV at the bar, and the bar is also in the main room, but it works. A huge shoutout to our server, Levi. One of the best in the business. He really made this an extra special experience for us. We all had various rolls, and they were all works of art....and yes, they were delicious. I had cheesecake for dessert. Probably the best cheesecake I've ever had. Nice 'n light. Perfect!! There's a social hour, which I'm guessing is another name for happy hour, daily from 5-7 pm with a nice variety of food and drink specials. They have parking on the side of the building. That's a huge plus in that area. Worth checking out.

The hostess was super kind and led us to a table right next to a beautiful olive tree in the main seating area, which made for a very comfortable vibe and a lovely view. Our server, Levi, provided outstanding service throughout the night and was super knowledgeable and attentive. He was honestly the main reason we had such a lovely time, as his energy was great and he was constantly checking in on us and making sure we were satisfied with everything. To drink, we had the Yuzu Whiskey Sour and the Melrose Passionfruit Martini, both of which were refreshing, delicious, and paired well with our food selection. I also had a Raspberry Breeze mocktail, which was sweet, tart, and bubbly! To eat, we started with the Rock Shrimp, which had a great spicy flavor and crunch to it. We also tried the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, which I liked, but I think the price on this item is a little steep, and you might be better off ordering another roll or menu item. For rolls, we ordered the Crunchy, the Tiger, the Lemon, and the Killer. Of these, my favorite had to be the Killer, as it was super fresh and had a great kick to it. Chef Salvador graciously sent over some Bluefin Tuna and Yellowtail nigiri for my partner and me to try, and it was such a thoughtful gesture and delicious treat for us. We were also kindly given a key lime pie to end our meal and celebration on a sweet note. The presentation for everything was lovely, and I really enjoyed the little radish stars! Overall, the fish is among the best and freshest I've had, the drinks are great, and the service is unmatched; I truly felt catered to and cannot wait for my next experience here! Thank you, Levi, Chef Salvador, and everyone at the Red Fish for an unforgettable anniversary dinner!
