Cuccidati Inc. had a booth at the event ... and they had me at the word "cuccidati". :-D LOVE these cookies! If you are unfamiliar, cuccidati are iced-and-sprinkled fig-filled Italian cookies. They're like a soft, delectable, gourmet, top-shelf, high-class, prettier Fig Newton, but way better, haha. Whenever I see an Italian cookie spread at a gathering, I always b-line for dibbs on the cuccidati. And Cuccidati Inc.'s cuccidati did not disappoint! These were a bit different from cuccidati I've had before. They weren't quite as sweet, not as thick-white of an icing as usual. And the filling seemed more natural, like more purely fig, as opposed to the more artificial extract flavor of some cuccidati. I do like the creamier cuccidati filling I'm used to, with more of a jam consistency. But these were good too, you could feel chewy bits of real fig fruit in each bite. If you prefer a cookie that isn't too rattle-your-teeth-sweet, you will probably enjoy Cuccidati Inc.'s cookies very much. We spoke with the owners when we were at the fresh-air market, and they were very sweet and friendly. They of course bake their namesake, but also bake many other cookies too. They don't have their own storefront, they sell by order, or at local venues and events. Getting in/out is still tricky as it's on Niagara Falls Blvd., but you just need to be patient and you'll get where you want to go. Per usual, inside was bright, warm and clean. Taking advantage of their great rewards program, I had a buy one, get one free Bundlet offer and it lined up with a weekend I could take advantage. I ordered a Red Velvet Bundlet, a favorite of mine for years now. The other Bundlet being the February 2026 limited-time flavor, Banana Pudding Cake Made with NILLA Wafers - Banana cake baked with real banana puree, generously topped with Nothing Bundt Cake's signature cream cheese along with vanilla pudding (a nice burst of vanilla pudding stuffed inside the core as well!) and topped with a NILLA wafer. This was REALLY GOOD! The banana cake was excellent - Not too sweet and the banana flavor itself was balanced, not too strong. I loved the vanilla pudding on top and at the center, although I would've loved more pudding in the center, I was happy with what I saw. As usual, the bundt cake was incredibly moist and easy to dig into and the Bundlet is the perfect size for one. At the Amherst, NY bakery, as of 02/2026, Bundlets were priced at $6, but the limited-time flavor was $7, not a problem though, at least for me. I don't make it to Nothing Bundt Cakes often and have missed some great limited-time flavors, so I'm glad I made it out to get the Banana Pudding Cake made with NILLA Wafers! Friendly customer service and great treats, no matter which bakery I choose to go to throughout Buffalo!

As for our tasting, we ordered a slice of cassata, a tiramisu tower, a pecan bar & a peanut butter bar. The almond flavor of the cassata cake layers was AMAZING, but that's where the pleasure stopped. For the rest of our experience. The cassata frosting was not whipped cream & instead quite hard and unpalatable (like Crisco was used). The tiramisu tower didn't have any coffee flavor in it. The Pecan bar was loaded with pecans, but the filling was unflavored goop. The peanut butter bar was like eating sand. There were no restrooms that appeared to be available for hand washing. All in all, with a cup of coffee, I'm glad it was only $24. On to the next bakery to find a suitable cassata cake for my mom's Big Birthday next year.

Everything from kringles to cookies and scones to cupcakes and full custom cakes. I had read about legendary cinnamon scones and have been a huge scone kick (especially cinnamon!), so I had to try them. Not only do they make cinnamon though, they take a unique approach to their fruit scones by filling them with fruit jelly, so of course I tried a lemon blueberry filled scone too. The filled ones are better in theory than practice. The lemon flavor of the dough was almost nonexistent and the blueberry jam didn't spread well enough to help out the other lacking flavors. The cinnamon scone absolutely could have potential, but unfortunately mine was overly hard and crumbly - I wish I had asked for a specific, newer and lesser-baked one, but such is life :)

I did try to ask a few questions about wedding tastings while I was there, but the worker helping me didn't seem very enthusiastic or willing to offer much guidance. Since this is such an important part of planning my wedding, that part of the experience felt a bit disappointing. Overall, while I was really rooting for this to be "the place" especially since it's a big and popular bakery I don't feel confident moving forward with them for my wedding desserts. Came around 11:00 and much of their options were already sold out, which I actually take as a good sign and an incentive to get there early. Ordered a traditional, and cherry-walnut baguette and tea. I wish I knew the tea brand they have to pick it up myself, very unique (think it was blood orange and something else). The baguettes were the freshest I've had in a long time. The cherry walnut was all natural and not too sweet. Absolutely should try it if you are looking for a nice, no frills bakery. Will be back, earlier next time.
