Great bakery with TONS of vegan options available each day and for special order. Each month they feature a "cake of the month" which can be made vegan or vegan&gluten free. Cake of the Month is $40 or $45 for gf, though I was charged $45 for a vegan one. It's a 6in cake and the flavors are a lot of fun. We had the orange chocolate cake for Christmas and a lemon blueberry in the middle of the summer. Vegan macarons are available around major sweets holidays (Christmas, Valentine's) but used to be a weekly feature. Vegan sponge candy was also available this past holiday season. Special orders require advance notice, but the cake of the month is ready in 24 and there's some on hand, too, but I don't know of there are vegan ones just hanging out. I hope so. I've had their cakes and cinnamon rolls and look forward to trying their vegan pop tarts and vegan toaster strudel. read more

The shop is cute with an assortment of macarons. Service is friendly. Prices are competitive. I bought the salted caramel, chocolate, and maple vanilla macarons, and a red velvet cupcake. My son enjoyed his red velvet cupcake, but said it didn't really taste like red velvet. The color was so bright, I wonder if maybe it wasn't made using cocoa, buttermilk, and vinegar. I had one of the salted caramel macarons, but I'm saving the rest for Father's Day. It looked great, with a dusting of salt, but the texture was off. It wasn't as soft and chewy on the inside. A better macaron is hard to find without crossing the border since a patisserie on Hertel closed, though. Still, this place is worth a visit, and it has vegan and gluten free offerings. I've been wanting cupcakes for this weekend's cheat day and I though I'd give this place a try. It's a small little bakery with a good selection of cupcakes, macarons, cookies, etc. I think they are more known for their customizable cakes. She has a case for vegan and a case for non vegan baked goods and macaroons. She seems to focus on making things for your events. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile. It was my birthday and on a whim I decided to go here and try out some keto items. The cookies were good. The texture reminded me very much of a fat bomb, shaped into cookie form. I ate two and that was enough. You definitely know you have eaten something with these. The cupcakes were dry on the outside but as you ate them, it was more moist inside. I have been keto for over a year, so while sugar has been out of my system, and I am accustomed to some sweeteners, I do NOT have any experience with keto goodies at bakery/pastry shops to compare it to - only homemade. I paid $42 for six small cookies , 4 keto cupcakes and two non-keto cupcakes. If you are looking for vegan or keto items I think you should definitely give this place a try. Came here on a whim because I was in the neighborhood. Man am I glad I did. Soon as I walked in it smelled amazing. I saw the display of all the pretty cakes, cupcakes, and pastries and realized mostly everything was vegan. Now I had to try it. I ordered the vegan cinnamon bun. Honestly, if they didn't tell me it was vegan I would have never known. So sweet and soft (especially since I warmed it up when I got home). I also got a an orange chocolate cupcake that came with a cute chocolate dipped orange on top. No need to hit this up because it didn't make it home. I've come here a few times and the baked goods always look delicious, general taste delicious, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I really appreciate the vegan options. It's been a year since my last review and I'm afraid I was too optimistic when it came to my hopes for improvement. So, to start off when I inquired if they had goods that were NOT vegan or keto I was told no. I went with the macaroons and lemme tell you, if you're gonna charge $14 for six cookies that aren't bigger than a traditional spoon it better be one heck of a delicious bite. Alas, friends, this was not the case. These macaroons tasted like they had been sitting in the fridge for a day or two. Letting them sit on the counter for an hour did not improve things. The strawberry macaroons was weirdly chewy, the butterfinger was so tough in the middle I couldn't even cut it in half and whatever filling they use in these cookies tastes like a cheap frosting made of too much powdered sugar. It didn't help that once again I had to try my card on the two different registers (I had been their customer in over an hour was the reason) annnnd I'd like to point out that this particular establishment doesn't like any review that isn't "glowing" and rather than respond to less than happy customer feedback it will be deleted so I wouldn't trust anything you read on their FB page. read more

I have been following this place on Instagram and their mouth watering photos have had me intrigued. It's located in Kenmore not super close to me but I finally made the trek on the day before thanksgiving for the pie and I am so glad I did! My Brunch Buddy, Donna and I stopped in here last Saturday and our timing was excellent. The owner was on her way out and announced to us and one other woman, that the cookies on the tables were free and to take some. We all exchanged looks of disbelief. She told us they had been in the freezer, left over from Christmas. In particular there was a plethora of Biscotti, and my favorite, the Cuccidati (Italian fig cookie). I took two containers with Biscotti, Cuccidati, and Italian Chocolate Spice cookies. While Donna cashed out, I snapped a pic of the Macaroon Ice Cream sandwiches as a reminder to stop back. The employee that cashed Donna out told me that they feature different, rotating varieties. The Biscotti were unlike any other Biscotti I've ever had. They were not as hard. I don't know how to explain it other than to say I really enjoyed them more than I would typically enjoy Biscotti. The Cuccidati were incredible. The fig filling was delicious and the cookie itself also had a softer texture. I imagine these were all special order for Christmas. I'll be checking to see if the Biscotti are maybe available year round. None of the treats that I sampled were gluten free or vegan but they do feature many products in those categories. There are actually two businesses in one here with the vegan baked goods on the left. Everything is beautiful and from what I sampled, high quality. It's a little pricey but chances are you would be coming here for a special occasion anyhow. Charges need to be separated for the two businesses so if you want to avoid that, bring cash. read more

This super cute bakery sits right at the corner of Delaware and Kinsey Ave and has a beautiful display of baked goods! You have everything from cupcakes to macaroons to cakes to choose from!! As an update, the vegan/gf side (as opposed to the macaron side of the shop) with cupcakes has normal size cupcakes now for 3.50 that are much more affordable. The cookie decorating kits are AMAZING! The cookies are always so huge and delicious and they provide the perfect amount of frosting and sprinkles to decorate. We've done the Christmas ones and Valentine's Day kits and couldn't recommend it more. I rarely leave bad reviews but I'm very disappointed with both the service and quality of the macarons my husband got me for my birthday from here. The macarons are TINY for the price - $2.25 each, if they were actually good that price would be fine. The shells are crunchy and dry, and crumble when you bit into them instead of being soft and chewy like they should be. And then the taste the Piña colada tastes like sun tan lotion. The birthday cake has no taste bc of the amount of sprinkles they use. The salted caramel tastes completely artifical. The cherry almond was the only decent flavor and I still didn't like them. On top of that my husband, who is an easy going guy said the lady behind the counter acted annoyed and short with him when he asked her questions. I kept hearing this shop made really good vegan cakes and other treats so of course I wanted to try! I ordered my birthday cake that was #20 for $95 and this was my first time ever ordering a cake in my life and first time buying anything from this shop. I ordered my cake April 26 for pickup May 9, the ordering process was fine though it can be improved. I checked up on the process May 6 to insure everything was going good and that my cake would be vegan, but to my surprise I was supposed to request that. I guess it was my fault I didn't include that but there was no questions in the form about that and everything I heard about this bakery was that basically most things here are vegan, vegan gluten free, keto, or something of the sort. Natalie did ask if that was fine and told me it'd be more expensive but since she had already made the cake and with my birthday so close to Mother's Day, I just accepted my cake how it was made. I was disappointed but still hopeful that it would be amazing and I knew it would look great! Now to my pickup time of May 9 at 1pm. I pulled up and there were 3 other people walking to the door the same time as me, there was a table in the doorway, not holding the door but just creating a barrier, and I could see the whole crew just standing in the back and 1 person at the door handling the cakes. I was shocked, the way the business was being carried honestly, in a pandemic and people being scared to catch covid-19 this was wild. The person at the door got my cake, opened the box and turned around to show me inside while also letting the wind from outside blow into the box, and handed the open cake box in my hands. Someone was kind enough to hold the door for me on my way out but I had almost dropped my cake because it was super windy!! We made no contact with the table at all!!!!! The cake was absolutely GORGEOUS and smelled amazing!!! I would've very much preferred if they put my cake on the table, taped the box, and let me pick it up to leave. In my opinion they should have been a dollar cheaper. They are $6. Everything was slightly overpriced. I also would have loved a donut which was on the menu board, but I was told they only have those on weekends. Bummer. I'm not in this area very often but would probably go back. This place is truly one of my favorite bakeries in Buffalo!! While there are plenty of great vegan options in the area, Fig Tree has such fantastic variety and always fulfills a craving, whether I want a fun breakfast pastry or a vegan remake of a childhood favorite. Prices are a bit higher than a "regular" bakery but they're worth every penny. It's even better that I don't have to worry about finding things that please everybody--I get my vegan options but I can also bring things back for my gluten-free friends, and my dairy-eating partner doesn't taste the difference between any of it lol.
