WOW! We had the steak, cauliflower, salmon piccata, pie and ice cream and I got an old fashioned. This food was AMAZING. The cauliflower was balanced with bacon/ham and a delicate spiciness that couldn't possibly have balanced any better. The first dish I've had in years that I just wanted to keep eating. The steak was tender and perfectly done. The salmon and veggies was very good, although I feel as if Salmon is hard to do poorly. Still, they executed it well. The old fashioned-one of my favorites, was perfectly balanced and they actually used one extra large ice cube instead of throwing ice in a glass. A wonderful surprise, but the way it's supposed to be made. The day we went, they were short staffed and there were some hiccups with the first delivery of our main course. However, the staff and managers were extremely thoughtful toward making sure we were taken care of. So not only is their food EPIC, their customer service is flawless. Yes yes yes yes! I love the bread selection , the different pastries , cookies and pies. However, I think the cake is too heavy. It tastes nice but the texture is thick and heavy. I love eating in their restaurant. The waffle with fruit, etc. is wonderful . And the avocado smash with a fried egg is to die for. I thought it was a little pricey but it includes a very full side dish of assorted fresh fruit. I had to take that home. The coffee is great and I ordered a pink grapefruit juice drink which was perfect. They pack up anything you cannot finish to take home. There is no waste here. It is a real treat when we can all come here to eat together. Thank you. read more

Does anyone else think that it's strange to be asked whether or not you want to leave a tip when placing an order over the phone to be picked up. Or does anyone think it's odd to walk into a store, buy a loaf of bread and be asked if you want to leave a tip. I don't get it. I work in a retail store in Fenton and have for the past 13 years. When someone comes in and buys a necklace or a sweater should I ask them if they'd like to leave me a tip? I don't think so someone please explain to me what the difference is here!!! I have no other problem with this establishment, but this is a terrible policy and offensive. read more

We were in town for a tournament, and we looked for different place to eat. Great find this place! We tried an Antipasto Salad and a Turkey Cobb Salad. Antipasto had big cubbed salami and cheese with it. The Turkey Cobb one had a great addition of blue cheese, avocado, tomato, turkey, hard boiled egg, chipotle peppers, bacon, red onion and obviously lettuce mixed with a creamy chipotle dressing. Bit spicy but I am not that use to spicy foods though. So take this in consideration. For dessert we had a Apple Kronout (is that how it's spelled ‍) and a PB donut. Service was great. First person who attended us was super nice. Although we came back for a last donut and this second one was rather grumpy. The selection they have in sweets are just fantastic!! The doughnuts that I had been looking forward to were gone by noon on a recent Saturday. The next time around, I will have to plan my trip better. This setback did not deter from the rest of the visit as I still had a chance to sample a number of other items. The bakery case was chock full of flaky viennoiseries: pain au chocolat, almond croissants, and amazing looking cream cheese danishes. Cinnamon rolls were piled high, ready for hungry customers like myself, who enjoyed the strong cinnamon scent and tender dough. A variety of bialys were arranged neatly behind the counter for a tasty breakfast. My yumminess radar went directly to the cookies that were stacked invitingly, packaged together or sold individually. The ginger molasses cookie was amazing. It was soft, chewy but still had a satisfying crunch. Most importantly, I loved the dominant ginger flavor. The chocolate chip cookies were crisp with chunks of sweet chocolate complemented by a sprinkle of fleur de sel. And the peanut butter cookies were thick and nutty with nice chunks of peanut mixed throughout. I would definitely drive 45 mins for these cookies alone. The cutie pecan pie was amazing. In addition to the delicious crust, there was an abundance of crunchy toasted pecans and a luxuriously thick and sweet filling. I've been waiting for 40 min for a cold sandwich. Having been a server in busy places, I'm no stranger to impatient a-holes, but I just paid a $17 for a club sandwich; I strongly encourage management to advise customers of a wait for a la carte items. I'd have asked for a refund but it's impossible to get attention during this rush. Totally bummed. read more

While on a adventure with my coworkers, we decided to have lunch at Crust and I'm so glad we did. The inside is big and bright because of all the windows. When you first walk in through the bakery side, you get to see all of their goodies and treats. They have breads, muffins, pies and so so much more. I did make sure to go home with something sweet too! The dining area is located in the back and is filled with just as much sunlight as the front of the store. We we're seated very quickly and got to look over the menu which featured some breakfast items (it was still pretty early in the day), soup, sandwiches, salads and pizzas! We had such a hard time deciding what we wanted, everything looked and sounded so yummy! I ordered a grilled cheese, but also ended up splitting half of a margherita pizza because its pizza and what monster ever denies themselves pizza? Somehow French toast was also included in the mix, I just can't remember if I had it or not because of how amazing my sandwich and pizza were! The grilled cheese came with a really nice mix of cheeses on sourdough with pickles and house potato chips on the side. The pizza was soooo yummy with crispy basil, perfectly thin crust and it was oh so cheesy. I don't know when I'll ever be in Fenton again, but I know where to go when I am :) read more

Delicious pastries, coffee and baked goods in Fenton, MI. I have had plenty of Crust products as they serve them at The Laundry and even at some of the stores in Ann Arbor. However, I have never been to their actual bakery. After eating lunch at The Laundry, we walked the short distance (about 1/4 mile) to Crust Bakery. I'm glad we stopped in! It's similar to Zingerman's Bakery where you can get several seasonal pastries, a variety of breads, taking cooking/baking classes and even watch them bake the breads they make. I even found out you could eat lunch there as they have sandwiches, salads, soups. I will definitely have to come in for that next time! The staff was friendly and offered samples of things, and everything we tried was delicious! read more

I went to Crust after eating lunch to pick up a dessert of any kind as we were in the area. My wife was hoping to see some donuts like she had seen on Yelp, but it seems as they may do a daily rotation of items based on previous pictures. We ordered a cinnamon roll and we were given one from underneath the counter that was already pre-packaged - we weren't sure how long it had been sitting there but were hoping for at least the facade of being given one that was fresh on display. I'd like to come back and try their sit-down service on the other side of the building. For those interested, they had a Bloody Mary bar going on while we there on a Sunday. read more

Pumpkin bug bread with bits of Belgian chocolate in moist pumpkin cake was dreamy, tasty and smelled like heaven. Got a perfect cinnamon roll that was layer after layer of icing and tastiness and the coffee was good too. Just took the grandkids for a snack and quick lunch at this restaurant. Believe it or not they charged us extra to heat our cinnamon roll! They didn't mention it and only when questioned about the 'extra' on the bill. They listed it as 'grilling'. What a joke. What's next for their airline style fees? Charging extra to heat your hot chocolate? Also had a grill cheese that barely had any cheese on it - certainly lived up to the restaurants name - it was all crust except for a spot in the center with a very tiny amount of cheese - certainly didn't use slices as that would have covered a lot more of the over toasted bread. This place is a scam and since it is so popular they apparently feel comfortable ripping people off - hopefully the public will vote with their wallet. Downtown Fenton deserves better. read more

It is definitely a good thing for my health and money that I don't live by this place. You walk in and instantly see a case of amazing looking cakes, pies and cupcakes. Walk around the corner and you have a shelf topped to the max with pastries and breads that made my stop in my tracks. Everything is fresh baked and they look amazing. It was hard to choose which to get! I ended up with a latte and croissant. My usual test of a coffee shop and it passed with flying colors. The croissant was super flakey and buttery and the latte warmed me up from the 25 degree weather that this Florida girl was still shocked by. They have quick food for on the go, pie that you can take home to bake, gelato and the other side is a full restaurant so they have a bar there as well. Pros: friendly service Clean environment Large portions Cons: not enough GF options. Other than salad they really don't have anything that's GF. Today was try #2 for crust brunch Bloody Mary bar 5 stars Mimosa bar 4 out of 5 The bloody comes with multiple liquor options and a mini beer which is always nice. The garnish bar was great too!!! Mimosa bar was fine they're kind of hard to make exceptional tho. Food, well for one I would rather eat of white plates, seriously it sounds strange but the greenish plates make the food look less desirable The brunch menu still lacks some breakfast staples but overall all parties were dated and satisfied with their meals Crust, I think this is headed in the right direction would like to see mor breakfast staples on the menu but the food this week was pretty good read more

Really cute bakery in Fenton! Had a full lunch and breakfast menu that they were serving at 12pm as well as a full selection of bakery items including fresh baked loaves of breads and pastries as well as homemade marshmallows and chips! We had waffles and the spicy chicken sandwich for our meals and would definitely return again the next time we're in the area. Just ask the bakery counter people for the laminated lunch and breakfast menu if you look in the cold case and see that there's not a huge selection there. read more

Wow! I couldn't decide between the carrot cake cupcake and the hummingbird cupcake, so I bought both....and ate both of them ( nice size too) in one day. I honestly can't say which one I liked better, they were so delicious. I will definitely be back for more baked goods. read more

Fan favorite! Every single time I dine at Crust, I think I love it a little bit more. I took my family for a Sunday brunch and we had a delicious feast. The sourdough bread is unmatched. The pasta dishes are amazing. All of the breakfast/brunch food is great. The soup is delicious. The daily specials are always winners. And HOW is the bakery so good? I highly recommend dining at Crust. The atmosphere is trendy and hip. The interior is aesthetically pleasing. The service is always fast and attentive. I really don't think you can go wrong. Any sandwich on the sourdough bread is a winner. I also recommend trying the cauliflower breakfast pizza. One of my favorite items on the menu! I can't say enough good things about Crust. read more

Always have an excellent selection to choose from. My wife and I always go for the peanut butter and jelly donut at the end of the meal. DELICIOUS as heck. In the way of food? For breakfast I get the French toast, lunch I usually stick with the fresh salads they have, and if we dine in for dinner? Pasta. Homemade pasta. Showed the server my "flour power" email with free bread basket offer. She acknowledged it. Husband did not look at bill. We were charged for it. Second time this has happened with an offer they sent out and server"forgot" to take it off the bill. Make sure to check your bill before paying is a lesson Crust has taught us. read more

Among the best bakeries anywhere with a large variety of items. Truly artisanal breads. A variety of fabulous pies. American berry is my favorite. Also an excellent place for breakfast/ brunch, everything on the menu is great. It used to be you could have dinner here as well, and dinner was also great. But it seemed like it was a best kept secret of Fenton because dinner was not too busy. Hopefully they will bring it back someday for another go! read more

Hell yes, I cannot wait to visit Fenton just to get some molasses cookies and 10 other things I didn't know I wanted! Love this bakery.

Their signature Saskatoon wheat bread is perfect. Cupcakes are always super fresh and just the right size (most bakeries seem to make them way too big, with too much frosting). Ham and cheese croissants are spectacular (although I wish they'd use thinner slices of ham), if they're not sold out before you get there. Raisin spiral pastry is also a stand out. Can't speak to the restaurant side, we have never dined here. read more
