I get to come to Camp Verde at least once a year to visit friends, I am from Oklahoma and I have to say that Crusty's Pizza in Camp Verde is the best pizza I have ever ate. It tops popular franchises like Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns and Simple Simon's. Yesterday I ordered 4 large pizza's, 2 to eat and 2 to take home with me. If smuggling Pizza out of state was against the law, I would totally get 20 years in prison. read more

Crusty's has excellent pizza. Unfortunately when we visited they we way understaffed. The one women waiting on the entire restaurant did do a good job but was clearly overwhelmed. It was in a convenient location to get to from our hotel, just two turns off of HWY 17. read more

We have fallen in love with this place despite the food. The pizza is inconsistent. The sub rolls are odd at best. And the spaghetti is plentiful. But the lady that waits on us every time we go is the best. She makes our day and we always leave with a smile on our faces. read more

I was in there about a week ago with my family. I am pregnant, and really needed to go to the bathroom. When I walked in, that bathroom it was disgusting! The toilet had feces stuck to the bowl, there was no toilet paper at all. To top it off a roach ran across the bathroom from behind the toilet. This was a stop on a long family road trip and I would rather eat dirt to be honest. Roaches in the bathroom? GROSS!! Five stars for their ranch dressing alone. The pizza is always great, the antipasto salad is my favorite thing on the menu. Everyone who works here is super nice except for the surly bearded pizza maker, but his job isn't to be nice, it's to make pizza. Don't throw stuff in their dumpster, they don't like it. read more

Hours for this place are different everywhere you look. The earliest closing time I saw was 7:30pm so we decided to try to place a pickup order at 7pm to be safe and were told they were no longer accepting orders when we called (on a SATURDAY). Wow big servings! Ordered chicken parmesan and it could have served three people. Was very good and had large serving of spaghetti also. Hubby had meatball sub sandwich and that was not only good but took half to go as it was very hearty! Yum. Stopped off on my drive back to Flagstaff. Took about 20 mins to make my pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It was piping hot and smelled delicious. I took the pizza to go so the aroma was with me about 45 mins before I got to My destination. My three dogs that were in the back seat were salivating thinking they were gonna share my pizza with me..Although I had to heat it up for a few minutes when I got home, the pizza was very tasty. As someone from Rhode Island, where there are pizza joints on every block, Crusty's seems just... ok. The crust is very plain and often too doughy (having your pizza comprised of mostly yeast bubbles isn't that cool.) And the sauce doesn't seem to have any herbs or spices in it - maybe I couldn't tell because we only got such a small amount of it on the pizza. The owner is a very nice woman, and the prices are okay, but I'd honestly rather eat Domino's pizza, and that's only a last resort. read more

Let me just start by saying things started off good. Hostess sat us down right away and our drink order was filled quick. Pizza was good! Topping fresh! I did not receive what I ordered. Had to go back to get the right food, was asked what kind of dressing do you want?, said Italian, received 10 ranch. Was over charged $10.00 and to top it off, the food was not good, unless you really like the taste of salt. Unfortunately it's the only pizza in this small town, circle k serves better pizza. 1st of all let me just say that I know that businesses like these have had it difficult over the last few months and so there are parts of this review that I did not hold against them such as long lines etc. I will also note that for me as a guest, I care more about attitude feeling welcomed and valued than I do about most everything else. I will give a place repeat business that has a polite staff before i would give it to a place with amazing food but rude people that made me feel like an annoyance or burden. So on w my review.... I have never eaten at crustys before but I got a gift certificate for my birthday so we decided to get food there to go. We called in the order and they quoted 45 min or so which seems high but still ok since we had other stops to make first. We placed that order at 3:12pm. We arrived around 4:25. We were greeted by 2 servers who also were in the roles of host, bartender, cashier, and busser so their looks of bewilderment when we walked in were quite understandable especially because we weren't the only ones in this long line. They weren't overly friendly and in fact seemed like they had been having a rough time that day or maybe even for months who knows. Even so, I did get the sense that they cared quite a bit about making sure I was happy and that everyone in the place was comfortable. This place probably would've got a 5 star review from me if I felt like the back of house staff had the same concerns. It seemed to me that the cooks were not answering these ladies questions or checking on things or keeping them posted at all about anything. They both had kind of nonchalant defeated attitudes and like they couldn't care less if they had customers or not and had no concerns for the kind of crap that the front line employees had to take because of problems they were causing. There was no sense of apology or urgency with the cooks in getting our order our or even starting it over an hour after the order was placed to begin with. I paid for the order and I informed the woman (I regret not getting her name) that it was really not a problem and to not stress about my order in particular that I had all day and it wasn't an issue. She still tried to get updates on my order status from the back which was met with blank stares and shoulder shrugs. We finally got our food around 5pm which is almost 2 hrs after ordering. Now about the food... I ordered chicken fettuccini alfredo. It was cold because it was ready when I arrived but my husband's gyro hadnt been started until several minutes after I arrived and paid. The fettuccini was way too soft and overcooked. The sauce looked and tasted like it came out of a can but it was still edible and I was hungry My husband loved his gyro and antipasto salad. I love that they gave me plenty of dressing without having to ask. I will visit here again after the world stops making us crazy with pandemic guidelines and curfews and review again just to be fair. Not because of the food or how fast the service is but because everyone has a bad day so I'll give it another shot and those 2 ladies out front were having such a hard time both with difficult cooks and even worse guests and did not complain once, did not throw anyone else under the blame game bus even once and they made me feel like I mattered to them as a guest of the restaurant. My son participated in a Championship game in Camp Verde on November 23, 2013. The team mom took all orders, called in the orders, and individual tickets where ready upon our arrival. My family and I arrived approx 30 mins. prior to any other team families. The Clerk took our name, pulled our ticket, and seated us. The server took our drink order, our 1/2 order bread sticks with out cheese, and added these items to our ticket. Our drink order came to the table, the bread stick order came with cheese so we received a complementary bread stick order. Seemingly good correct, well the rudeness was soon to come. We waited for our pizza and the other families. The clerk stated they would start the pizzas at 5:45 pm. We said good we should get our pizza first. The coach and families began to arrive at approx 6:15. We still did not have a pizza, now remember we arrived at 5:30. It gets better. The pizzas start coming out of the kitchen going out to all the tables. The clerk came and took our ticket off of our table, so we were confused. however, we waited. At about 6:45, I went to the coach and said notice we arrived 30 minutes early and we still do not have a pizza. They said well it does not matter when you arrived, the establishment was doing the pizza according to the order they we called them in earlier that week. I went back to my seat. The employee then said well you were feed anyway - you had bread sticks. I just sat there. Our pizza came out at about 7:00pm---COLD. Everyone received hot pizza right out of the oven-- We got cold pizza and everyone knows cold pepperoni ends up with an oily film-- Nasty. So clearly, my family was not welcome here. We will NEVER participate in a pre-game dinner if it is at this location. read more

We were in Camp Verde for a night and wanted some good, inexpensive food. We weren't too sure looking at the outside of the restaurant, but the food was outstanding. We had the All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti and a cheese pizza. We could only get through the first plate with how large the servings were, but we got our money's worth. The taste of everything was outstanding. Very flavorful sauce and even a cheese pizza hater like me enjoyed the pizza. If I'm ever back in Camp Verde again I will stop here for food! read more

My boys gobbled down their pizza thanking the bubble waitress so they go play on the beautifully groomed lawn. I was back at Crustys. We had 1/2 order antipasta salad (it is enough for at least 3 or more) & medium special. The salad and pizza would be good for 3 or 4 hungry people. Husband and I took home leftovers. Love love their crust. Still my FAVORITE place in Camp Verde, nothing fancy but the kids love it. I have great memories eating here with my mom and dad. Saw this place on Maps while driving to Sedona. My boyfriend and I walked in and first thing i heard was someone complaining about how "done with the day" they were at 11am. Besides hearing that, we decided to do the lunch special where you can choose slices. I asked for just a slice of cheese pizza but they told me they only had pepperoni slices. I was honestly baffled that a pizza place with 4 stars can't even provide a customer a slice of cheese pizza. The only good thing about this place was the fact they didn't charge for ranch. Hey, I really like Crusty's. Never a problem parking, easy access, prompt service, lots of beverage selection. Don't miss the antipasta salads, they are tasty and nicely done. I like my pizza thin crust and extra cheese and it comes out perfect. The staff are playful, right there when you need them and always provide good suggestions and input. No, it is not frou-frou pizza with three globs of soft cheese and radiccio spread on it. This here is real food. Enjoy. read more

Been going here as long as I can remember. There are not too many options in CV and this one is good and cheap. Their crust is doughy and delicious (hence 'Crusty's...the crust is where it's at). Great salads & breadsticks too. Bacon pizza with easy sauce is my favorite. read more

Love this place!! Great pizza and great food. Called ahead as we were driving up from Phoenix and they told us exactly what time we should be there based on where we were at the time and he was exactly right! We did have to wait about 10 minutes but it was worth it. Got 2 white pizzas and a combo and a pepperoni. My daughter got married at a ranch in camp verde last year and we got crustys pizza for the rehearsal dinner. Awesome!! read more
