Both my sister and I collected TY Beanie Babies growing up and each time TY released new beanie babies, we would try and come here to see what they had. The toys were magical to each of us and fortunately our tastes were different enough that the items we wanted did not really overlap. This was great for us and our parents as we did not mix up whose beanie baby was whose. We were appreciative Teri's Toybox had enough different toys we were not forced to get the same ones if we wanted one. We found a treasure trove of other cool items here throughout our childhood as well. More recently, it has become a site of searching for toys for kids of family friends or church care packages. The floorspace has been reduced and the displays are a bit more cramped together than they used to be, though they still have a variety of offerings. The music played can be a little odd for being a children's toy store, though plays a little quieter so it is not so jarring.

We managed to hurry past it on the way to lunch, but I knew there was no way we were getting back to the ferry without going inside. Not with a two-year-old, a five-year-old, and my mother in our crew. To our kids' credit, I wanted to get them a souvenir, or at least allow their grandma to buy them something small with my supervision (she can't be trusted on her own). The store was colorful and appealing, and I couldn't deny my boys the pleasure of a quick, moderate visit. Calico was well stocked with toys and games, and my two-year-old immediately went for a giant cement mixer set that would board the ferry out over my dead body. I told the kids and my mom that they could buy one toy each, and that it would have to be something we could easily take home. There was a large selection of stuffies at the front of the shop, and I strongly encouraged them to find something in that area. Our older son obligingly picked an adorable baby turtle, but his brother refused every little stuffie I offered. Instead, he found a cheap disposable pinwheel that cost $3.99. He's been obsessed with fans for about half of his life and apparently, the pinwheel counted. My brother and sister-in-law got a couple baby toys for their babies and we went on our way, all the kids happy with their loot. We've been home for over a week and the baby turtle, now named Baby Turtle, has a place of honor in our five-year-old's bed. The pinwheel pops up in random spots in our house, sometimes waved with aggression in front of our faces. I liked Calico Toy Shoppe and would definitely shop there if I lived on Bainbridge Island. I'd recommend stopping in if you're visiting with kids. It's a great place to pick up a little souvenir.

The store is super clean, organized, and honestly feels like a little theme park for collectors. There's a huge variety of Pops and exclusives, plus a build-your-own Funko area that's really cute and creative. The staff was friendly, helpful, and patient, even with how busy it gets. Whether you're a collector or just visiting for something fun to do, this place is definitely worth the trip. I'll absolutely be going back!

Plenty more merchandise is available in these stores. $14.99 for a regular, $29.99 for a 6" specialty, and $19.99 for a 6" one. Bitty pops cost the same as a regular and you get 4 bitties in one pack. $6.99 for the ones that come with vehicles or just a small figurine. Unfortunately, did not check costs for clothing nor bags/backpacks. Overall, still recommend, but keep in mind of the prices. We found a couple online stores that are selling some of these funkos at a cheaper price.

The prices were fair too! They have a refrigerator with lots of different types of beverages. I also asked if they were dog friendly, which they are as long as they don't make a mess so I brought in our two fur babies who got some pets from the staff. The store is organized well as well as plenty of room to walk around. They had a few long tables and chairs for weeklies or just casual hang outs as there were some players just opening One Piece packs.
