I recently developed patellar tendonitis in both knees due to poor decision making when it came to my regular workout routine. Originally, I ignored the pain and thought it was just the usual soreness, but eventually the pain got so bad I had a lot of difficulty getting out of bed, out of a seated position, up chairs... and as a fitness trainer and coach, it started to affect my ability to demonstrate movements to clients or to help them out. Of course, since I let things get SO BAD, I decided it was time to take action. After a trip to the ortho, a positive diagnosis for tendonitis in both knees and cold therapy being one of their recommendations for treatment, I decided to give Cryospot and Vic a visit. (I'm sure my doctor just meant to like ice me knees occasionally; but hey go big or go home, right?) Anyway, the moment I stepped into Cryospot, I knew I was in good- EXCELLENT hands. Immediately, you're welcome with a refreshing and clean lobby area with a friendly face behind the front desk. For my first visit I was lucky to meet Vic. Vic's really passionate about his facility. He proudly gave me a tour of the facility, including a detailed explanation of all services and rooms that were availability. It was impressive to see all the options - most impressive was how clean, neat and incredibly inviting the entire place was. After a quick change into a robe, socks, gloves and rubber shoes I was ready to jump into the cryo-chamber. Sessions are 3 minutes and you know I thought it was be absolutely terrible and unbearable, but Vic's just out there chatting away and you're responding and then all of a sudden you get your robe back and you're released from your frozen oasis. It's a bit painful coming out just because you know, you're kind of frozen almost to the core. You'll walk around like a snowman for a bit, that's fine- let's you really embrace the experience. But after that you'll feel like a new person - and I'm not just saying that. After cryotherapy it was so much easier for me to jump into my rehab and recover for my knees. The session seriously dulled the pain, and allowed me to perform the necessary rehabilitative exercises I needed to get my knees back into working order. I've had a total of 4 cryo-sessions since my last visit about a month ago and currently I'm back to squatting, deadlifting, lunging, running, walking up stairs without pain and most importantly getting out of bed without collapsing. During my visit I also took advantage of a theragun session (yes, get this, you need this). Compression therapy (also yes) and a 45 netflix and sauna session. I'm sure my little treat-yo-self splurge that first day really helped expedite my recovery. I admitted to Vic that I was afraid it was all placebo, but honestly a week later I was squatting (albeit not crazy heavy weight) comfortably and living a better quality of life than I was previously. Being in the fitness industry and the person who is constantly taking care of people to get in their best shape and feel their best - I lose sight of taking care of myself and making sure I feel and operate at my best. I now have Vic, Aida and Kyle to turn to when I need a little TLC. So happy to have the Cryospot in my life. CryoSpot is absolutely incredible. Started coming in for various reasons- (migraines, anxiety /depression, and inflammation in the body / especially knee) about two months ago. Without a doubt, my symptoms in all aspects have majorly decreased. I've also noticed that my sleep has vastly improved. The owner, Vic, along with the rest of the staff are some of the most compassionate people who really care and love to see you heal from whatever is physically ailing you. My boyfriend and I went in for a cryotherapy session today. This was my first time trying out cryotherapy and to be honest I had been a little wary of it. We were greeted by Vic who took his time in explaining the different options, the process of each as well as the benefits of each therapy option w no pressure of trying any or one over another. This is the worst place I've ever been to. Vic the owner sold me a package to loose viseral. I paid him $1000 on his personal account through Venmo. When I found out I have severe high blood pressure which I also have Hashimoto's it is a contraindication for the cryotherapy. The owner said he would mail me a check and then he cannot pay me back through Venmo? Whatever I agreed. Several months went by I sent a couple of calls and messages to CryoSpot. Finally yesterday I was told they mail me a check? I offered to pick it up because I don't believe that they're going to mail me a check. The owner calls me this morning and tells me that he's not gonna pay me the thousand dollars because he had to pay commissions to his employees? Commissions to what? Privacy in a fully enclosed and individually curtain'ed changing room area while getting into robe, socks, slippers and gloves. Whoever walks you through your cryotherapy session will be sure you understand how the cryosauna works, what to expect and what to do during the (up to) 3-minute session (any hesitations about doing a session are alleviated with good old fashioned conversation before and during). If you're interested in a cryofacial, you'll unwind for the duration of that session as one of the CryoSpot team members use a controlled beam of vaporized liquid nitrogen to treat your face, scalp and neck area. So on my 4th cryo chamber session I finally got to meet the man himself, yes, the Great Vic. And he didn't disappoint me one bit. Vic is all about taking care of the customers and he's really knowledgeable and explains things in a manner it's easy to understand. He gave me complimentary this and complimentary that, and so on but that's not why I'm giving Cryospot 5 stars. First and foremost, this cryotherapy really works!!! I'm an avid badminton player and I play on hardwood floor 4 days a week and me being almost 57 yrs old, with all the running, my knees/legs would stiffen up after a 4 hrs of badminton. I could barely walk, at times, especially if I had been sitting for a few hours after badminton (that's when it's really tough to move around). Well, I finished my 4th session today 2/4/20, and although there's mild discomfort, it's nothing like it was prior to cryotherapy. I know there are a lot of mixed reviews when it comes to cryotherapy, but for me even if my legs didn't improve I would still attend the cryotherapy sessions just for the exhilaration alone it's so worth it. It's $100 for the first 5 sessions which is such a great deal!!! I don't know about you guys but I'm all about supporting good people doing good things and if you came in and gave Cryospot a try, you'll know what I'm talking about. Walked in not knowing what to expect. The person who helped me (didn't catch his name) was very helpful and got me through the process. He explained everything thoroughly and was able to answer the questions I had. I originally walked in for just the cryo chamber service, however, after learning more about the cryo facial, which I had initially took interest in as well, I left with 2 services done. The cryofacial had great results as it was just the first session. I wish I had a before picture but when I walked in, I had a lot of redness from some stress breakouts I was having. After the session (6 mins) I saw the inflammation go down and immediately, the redness was gone. Usually I'm not the one to break out but I guess especially rn I've been really stressed.
