Its rare that Im so pleased with a service that I feel obligated to leave a positive review but this business certainly deserves it. I brought in 3 pairs of jeans to be hemmed and one pair of gym pants that I didnt even think could be salvaged but I thought Id bring them just in case it was possible (puppy chewed through a zipper at the bottom of the pants leaving them ruined and unwearable). Everything was ready to be picked up (and perfect) several days ahead of schedule. She replaced the ruined zipper on the gym pants making it look as good as new. As far as the hemmed pants, you cant even tell theyve been altered. The bottom stitch and style look identical to how they came originally. Im not sure if thats typical but in my past experiences elsewhere I could always tell theyve been hemmed as the bottoms never looked quite as good. All this for $80 total. In times where every business seems to nickel and dime you to death, it was pleasant to feel undercharged for once. Wont be taking my alterations anywhere else while living here. read more

I bought a bridesmaid's dress at David's Bridal for around $200. David's wanted $60 for just a hem and I believe another $25 because it would be a two week turn around. Of course I said no way and went to another tailor in town I was familiar with. He wanted $100. Apparently this double, triple skirt design makes for expensive alterations. So at this point I'm about to wear some stripper heels for height or get creative with double-sided tape. But a coworker told me about this place and she highly recommended them. I went on a Saturday and she looked at the dress and quoted $25 with a three day turn around. I was leaving Friday morning. On Thursday night before she closed she called to make sure I was coming because she knew I needed it Saturday. I wound up picking it up Friday morning and it turned out perfect. I can't recommend this place enough for reasonable prices and great customer service. read more

I first went to Crystal many years ago when I was updating my suits. I took her approximately 8 suits. About midway through, she insisted that the new suits also needed the sleeves taken up. I agreed. I figured, let's get the job done right and paid the additional fee. When I pick the suits up, it didn't look like the sleeves have been taken up. But, I was happy to have my suits. I recently lost over 100 pounds. I took her one suit to start. Honestly, I was a little bit skeptical about the sleeve situation before. She did all her measurements and told me it would take a week to get the suit back. I told her that she would need to remake the pants as simply tightening the waist wouldn't be enough. She agreed. I went back after a week. The suit wasn't ready. No problem. So we extend it out for another week. When I went back the second time, I was so excited. But, when I put on the pants, I realized that she only tight in the waist at the back - meaning my front pants pockets were pretty far back on my butt. And she said, "You like it right!!". No I don't like it. Not even close. She also did not take the coat in. I was so disappointed. Not only have I given this woman business over the years, but how could she seriously try to send me out in the public looking like that. The suit looks freaking terrible. She asked for another shot and I agreed. But, after considering it for night, I wasn't comfortable with her working on my clothes. Number one, I'm fairly certain she lied to me just to up her fee years ago. But, she would also send me out in the public looking like a total buffoon when I specifically told her what would need to be done. I picked up the suit the following morning. Unfortunately, the only thing she was worried about was my money. I paid her in advance and she was worried about refunding me. I told her to keep the money. I have since found a better tailor who has done my suits right. But, he could not fix suit that Crystal worked on, because it was beyond repair. He refused to even work on the suit because it was so bad. It was my favorite suit. The other tailor also confirmed that none of my sleeves were ever worked on. If you have a project that takes any skill, I highly recommend you don't go here. There's a good chance your favorite clothing will be ruined. read more

Really disappointed. I've been coming here to get my pants hemmed for over 10 years. The prices have significantly gone up, up, up, but I keep coming because Kay usually does a great job...until recently. I was maid of honor in my best friend's wedding. I brought in my bridesmaid's dress to have a few alterations done. The bride picked the dresses late so mine didn't come in until a week and a half before the wedding. But I brought it to Kay knowing that she is pretty fast. I came in wanting to have the dress hemmed and taken in a few inches just around the bust. But she also insisted on completely removing the third under layer of the dress instead of just hemming that too. I was fine with that. All together, it was $100. $40 for the take in, $40 for the hem, and $20 to remove the bottom layer (which I didn't even ask for). But I paid. I needed the alterations done. She said she'd have it ready 2 days before the wedding and she'd call me when it was ready. She never called. And I'd been so busy helping the bride in the days before the wedding, I almost forgot to pick it up. The day of the wedding, I headed there first to pick up the dress. I walked in and my dress is hanging on one of the racks...COMPLETELY UNALTERED. At this point, I was in tears. I'd paid, given them a week and a half to alter it, and they never even touched it. Kay wasn't working that day for some reason, so there was another woman in the shop. She apologized and said she'd have it ready in an hour. I came back an hour later and picked it up, but at that point I needed to be at the venue for hair and makeup so I didn't have time to try it on in the shop. As I'm walking out she stopped me and said I still needed to pay. I told her I had already paid when I brought the dress in like I always do and she said it wasn't marked on the receipt and I still needed to pay it. I was so furious, I walked out. The truth is, I wish I hadn't paid ahead of time, because I NEVER would have paid for that terrible work. The dress wasn't taken in enough. It was huge. My friend had to take it in even more with a sewing kit an hour before the wedding and it was still hanging off of me the whole wedding. Even worse, they never even removed the bottom layer that I was pretty much tricked into paying extra for. I've never seen such a horrible alteration. Normally I wouldn't judge a place just by one mistake, but the whole experience was awful. I thought about bringing the dress in to show Kay and see if I can get a refund, but I can't even bring myself to go back there. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I came back later that afternoon and my dress was ready - and pressed. Her work was really good too exactly what i wanted. I checked the hem and it looked like factory made with no flaws.
