Thanks to Yelp reviews, I found my go-to tailor. I have tried several in Henderson near my home but all have fallen flat by either being overpriced, mediocre work or cheap, quick fixes (not an option for people who value their clothes). Several years ago I purchased a beautiful teal wool coat and made the mistake of taking it to Phuong's Tailoring and Alterations to shorten the sleeves. They over-shortened them leaving the lining long hanging down past the sleeves! I felt helpless and chose to not confront them due to the extreme language barrier. So, I stuck the coat deep in a closet not wanting to think about what to do next. (Iwas leaning towards donating it to Goodwill.) Then earlier this month I pulled it out from the depths of my closet and decided that with the help of Yelp I'll find another tailor that could perhaps fix Phuong's shoddy work. (Donating it was what I thought was still going to happen.) Enter Larissa. She saved the coat and did an absolutely beautiful job!! I'm in love with the coat once again. I ended up searching for a tailor near my work and found this wonderful lady who really loves and cares about her work. Her little shop is the real deal with a staging area surrounded by mirrors for fittings. A far cry from the chaotic, disorganized mess at Phuong's. read more

Do not go here if you are racially ambiguous. The lady is racist (I don't like using the race card) but she refused to look at the item i needed tailored and she looked at me with hatred when i entered her establishment. VERY rude - worst customer service ive ever experienced. She's very disrespectful and i was being SO nice to this lady just asking her to just look at it but she refused my services and chased me out. read more

Got home to try on the pants I needed hemmed only to come right back because the pants was still in the same condition I left it. She forgot. I never received an apology or refund. I got my wedding dress from a bridal store. They told me alterations would be $700-800 and that I needed to take 5" off the length and to add a lace up in the back. I took my dress to Tailor Shop by Larissa & she told me all I need to do was a minor "let out" and the length was fine with a petticoat. She charged me two-thirds less than that and the dress is absolutely beautiful. She is very reasonably priced and does great work. I will have a gorgeous wedding dress for my special day. read more

Larissa altered my wedding dress. It was so perfect. She listened to my ideas and suggested several other alterations that would allow the dress to look like it was made for me. It took about 6 weeks for all the alterations to be completed. She did offer to have the dress ready sooner, but I wasn't in a rush since my wedding was 2 months away. My favorite part was the time she took on the initial fitting. It was personalized and private. Larissa only worked with me on my initial fitting day, no other brides were in the store. She then offered a second fitting so she could make sure the initial alterations were being done correctly. So thorough and thoughtful. Larissa is truly talented and gifted. I came to this shop because the reviews on Yelp were good. The hours are really what made me want to try this place because I was able to get there after I got off work and they are open until 6pm. I needed a dress altered and the price was very reasonable. She had it done well before I needed it and I was pleased with how it turned out. I went to Larissa to customize a blazer (half sleeve/ half halter) for my 50th birthday party. I should've known that with her trying to complete another large order, that she couldn't properly complete my vision. I had gone to several fittings and each time I was apprehensive about whether Larissa could bring my vision to life but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I picked up my supposed finished blazer the day before my 50th party and it fit horribly! The halter around the neck was loose and baggy. On the tuxedo side, the satin collar was not followed through all the way down my back to the halter side. It stopped abruptly in the middle of my back like a mud flap. It looked so stupid! The red flags should have gone up when I went to pick it up and she didn't want me to try it on. She swore that it was ready and complete. I called her immediately when I got home and was able to try it on. She told me to come the day of my party to get it fixed but of course I had no time the day of my party with having to decorate, hair and makeup, dealing with out of town guests,etc. My mother had to fix the halter around my neck from being loose and baggy after I paid Larissa $250. I was so self conscience and disappointed. I did give her one star because although the completed work was horrible, she did use quality material. read more

We actually went shopping for a new wedding dress but could not find anything even close to how beautiful her dress was. We also didn't want to spend the money for a new one. We took the dress to Larissa and she said no problem! My daughter was trying on the dress and then got lipstick on the dress. Again, Larissa said no problem. The groomsmen's pants were too short and too tight. No problem! One of the groomsman's shirts was too big in the neck. No problem. Larissa was truly a blessing and we are so grateful at how personable she is, kind, professional, and great at what she does. In preparation for my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary Vow Renewal my mom and I ordered beautiful dresses online, which is scary enough! They are in fact gorgeous dresses, but definitely needed to be altered. The crazy long trains would have had us both tripping down the aisle! I work 10 minutes away from Larissa's Shop and have driven by several times so when my mom said she had researched online for a seamstress I knew exactly where to go! Larissa's shop is warm and inviting, like go to a girlfriends house. We started with Mom's dress her diet was a success and the dress needed to be taken in since it was falling off her shoulders and she was in a mild panic, Larissa calmed her and not only fixed the length of the dress and train, but the falling shoulders were fixed perfectly without a trace. My diet was not a success, and although the dress did fit, thankfully and I could breathe. I wanted something to keep me covered and secure since the dress was strapless. Larissa suggested adding mesh and it was the perfect solution and when I picked it up she had let the dress out a little more so I could both breathe and sit! All kidding aside both altered dresses were made better and more beautiful thanks to Larissa! read more

I took my beautiful wedding dress here after a horrible experience at another shop (AJ's) and this woman was so professional, the shop looked like a real tailoring alterations establishment. The place was roomy, had large dressing areas and proper platforms for trying on clothing to be altered. The woman was courteous, kind and offered assistance with fitting as expected. The shop was clean and well decorated. The price I was quoted may have seemed a little high($350.) for hemming and bustling but my dress had eight layers and appliqué detail to be moved. I believe the price was worth it for the job being done and the overall experience was positive. Also shop is handicap accessible and service animal friendly! Parking is no issue. Such a shame - Larissa is very talented. BUT she is not the one doing the work. She has a staff & more than once I have returned paid-for alterations to be redone. While I was waiting to (again) show her another wrong hem, a longtime customer came in & showed Larissa his garment that was not done correctly. Bunched stitching and border in the wrong spot. She apologizes & 'makes it right' but I am seriously done with returning. I currently have two paid for hemmed pants (uneven) that I am just not driving over there, leaving, returning to pick up. She saved my wedding day! I bought a dress that I wasn't 100% in love with because of the pushy saleswomen at the bridal shop. The saleswoman assured me that it still be within my budget to get the look I wanted from this dress achieved with alterations. I purchased the dress and when I went to pick it up, I was given an alterations bill for triple what I was originally quoted. I was also told they wouldn't be able to do everything they promised. Larissa is absolutely the best seamstress in Las Vegas! I brought her my brand-new, very expensive, wedding dress to alter and she made it fit perfectly! When I came in my bustier was too big. So she took it in for me too. I also brought my 7 year old daughter with me to one of my appointments and she told Larissa that she wanted flowers on her flower girl dress like mama's. Oh my goodness!!!! I don't think I could say enough about Larissa. She was absolutely amazing and completely professional in this whole process. I brought my wedding gown to her to be altered and she did amazing. I purchased my gown from Alfred Angelo after they had closed and then liquidated all there dresses. The dress I had my eye on was there and it was way to big for me to begin with. I dropped my dress off with Larissa in the beginning of December and every fitting and appointment she looked and knew what she had to do just by looking at it. I had two fittings and then the final (which is when I got to take the dress). I loved this dress when I first got it and couldn't really see it fitted to me but Larissa made me fall even more in love with my dress. She gave me an excellent price of $350 for altering and bustling the dress. I had told her in the beginning that I was in the process of losing weight and she was totally fine with that. She worked with me through the whole process and made sure everything was perfect. Other places I looked at wanted $500 min and that was just for what they went over if they had to do anymore alterations it was going to cost more( if I lost a lot more weight and they had to re alter it), Larissa did not charge me anymore than what she said and she did so much to this dress. I also brought my flower girls dress to have the sash made into a bow and fixed to the dress, fantastic job on everything. I am completely satisfied with her work and will definitely bring anything to her that I need altered for whatever it is. I am so glad I chose to bring my dress here and have Larissa work on it. I had a wedding dress that I took to Larissa to be tailored at the beginning of June June 10 to be exact it is now October 22. The dress was an absolutely gorgeous coutour gown that looked like a fell straight from heaven and needed very little work it just needed a push-up bra in the bust and a little bit take it in in the belly and hip area. The first time we went back the dress had been completely altered in all the wrong ways and it made my stomach look humongous the whole dress pointed right to my stomach which is every girls problem area. All the other appointments had to do with Larissa fixing the bull crap that she did to the gorgeous gown in the first place. My last appointment was her telling my self and my "Mother or the Bride" Who went with me to every single appointment that she was finally going to put the right push-up bra in the chest of the dress and 19 days before my wedding we went to the eighth appointment which should've never been that many appointments it probably only need one or two appointments until she wrecked the dress. So the last appointment was for us to go back and have this wonderful push-up bra that I asked to have put in the dress the very first of this whole appointment just tailoring situation, and she had done nothing to put the right push up into the dress... Even more disgusting is when I was so saddened and upset she just looked at me in the face with no explanation of why she would've lied and not of done what she told us she was going to do the appointment before. I was so upset and so shocked that I literally could not even breathe and I didn't sleep every night after that until I finally went back and got my dress from her and she charge me $375 which is disgusting because every bit of work that she did on the dress she made for herself she was correcting her own mistakes. I had a got feeling when I first talked her about the dress and she gave me an estimate of $475 that I should've walked straight out of that shop. I could not even sleep at night knowing that my gorgeous gown was there anymore... Now I paid her $375 mostly to fix her own mistakes that she created on my gorgeous dress..... Which she made me paid that money to get my dress away from her and I told her that I believed that that was way more than I should of had to pay. And now $375 later and 16 days away from my wedding, I now have to find and hire a new Taylor to complete my dress and I'm so very sad and sixkened beyond words. If you go to the shop and that still quiet voice inside of you says run I would strongly suggest that you do just that! The last appointment before we left she had the push-up bra connected to the dress that she told us that she was going to put into it and then the next time that we went to my appointment she had put some horrible wretched scary something into the chest of the dress I was absolutely horrified be afraid do not go to this person I don't even know how this businesses open! Also she would cancel appointments with me because she had to go out of town before her kids went back to school and the last appointment I was trying on my wedding gown with a sports station blaring in the place while I was trying to put my gown on. I do not want to hear sports when I'm trying to try on my beautiful amazing wedding gown it was so very disrespectful! read more

The first time I went there was to have the strap of my dress adjusted which she was able to do. But after it was adjusted it felt tight and had trouble zipping it up at back. The dress was tight in the first place so I thought I could come back to let out the dress. Larissa immediately turned me down saying that the dress didn't have any extra seams to it was impossible to let out. I asked her if we can find any alternative and what she suggested was to wear Spanx! My sister asked if she could just teach us to properly zip up the dress but she said just pull it up. She wasn't very helpful. I took the dress to someone else and we ended up deciding to do a corset at the back where the zipper wasn't pulling up completely. Very disappointed how this shop was unwilling to even try to give me any suggestions. On the other hand, I was glad she didn't get to work on my dress because it looks like I'll definitely be disappointed. read more
