Ok stopped in here thinking this would be a unique Burger Cafe. Well it is very unique, but only a burger joint it isn't. Walked in Ayesha was busy in the back, but came up front to take our order. Told her to give us a few minutes, because it's our 1st time. When she came back she suggested the Biryani Pakistan chicken dish managers special. Burger place with a Pakistan flare was a great surprise. The food was hot & perfect seasoning (I thought), until Ayesha came out with a Pakistan seasoning sprinkling a little across the dish. It was outstanding touch. As you can see in the pictures the building was really cool, with many different items to look at. My son's burger was very good, he was very happy with this place. Can't review the food, just the bad service. We arrived on a Saturday about 1. There were 2 adults, 1 child waiting in line and someone ordering. The order wrapped up in a couple of minutes but the two guys in front of us were up there long enough for us to see if there was table service. There wasn't. The customers and staff seemed to be old friends and just chatting away. No acknowledgment of our wait, no attempt made to have us move up and order. Never went to Meteor Burgers before it was closed, so I can't compare how the 2 burgers compare! However, my husband ordered a burger Crystal Cafe and enjoyed it! Despite reading a few negative reviews, my wife and I decided to try Crystal Cafe a couple of months ago. She ordered the Avocado Grilled Chicken sandwich and I ordered the Classic. We shared an order of Onion Rings and Sweet Potato Fries. Ordering was a breeze, with the menu being straightforward with accurate photos of the food offerings. Our order was out in timely fashion and everything was hot and fresh. We're very much enjoyed the tastiness of everything we had to eat. The restaurant was clean and seemed maintained appropriately. And, the owner(I think I have his name right, "Hanif") had the courtesy to check on our needs and level of satisfaction during our meal. While speaking with Hanif, I shared with him that we decided to give Crystal a chance, despite having read a couple of negative reviews here on Yelp*. I mentioned how someone complained about coming into the restaurant while staff was in a moment of their daily prayer. Hanif was gracious enough to entertain our curiosity and explained that when the guest came in, Hanif explained to the prospective customer, the religious beliefs and practices of the staff, and that they would conclude in very short order and take care of the customer. Hanif went on to say that he and his staff did just that, but that the guest had already gone and did not return. I can understand how such may be a deterrent to some customers, but despite whatever differences I may have with another's religious customs, in this instance, I personally considered the benefit of having a business become successful in the community in which I reside. In my minds eye, that was the more important consideration. And, in so doing, my wife and I ended up supporting a locally-owned business AND, had a great meal! We will definitely eat at Crystal again, and encourage others to set aside their differences, realize the benefits of supporting a local business, and give them a try. Disorganized, Undercooked, and Unsanitary. I ordered a hot dog with sweet potato fries, and my husband got the fried chicken. My lukewarm hot dog arrived first, followed by the fries about five minutes later--at least those were hot, but unfortunately undercooked and low quality. Nearly 15 minutes after that, the fried chicken finally showed up, only to discover it was still red in the center. Nothing was timed well or prepared properly. The food seemed like it was made by someone with no experience running a kitchen, let alone a restaurant. To top it off, the dining room was just plain icky. We won't be back. read more

If you happen to be a fan of another halal burger shack just down the way, or maybe you used to be one of many catering customers the madam who now owns this former Wylie classic used to have, then you're certainly going to love what this has become. First and foremost, they went from flop to favorite by hiring on proper staff including a full time GM. I love a family owned and operated restaurant as much as the next Yelper, but when push comes to shove, having the right people definitely makes a difference as it did here. As for the eats, well it's got a unique twist on things. The regular menu which you'll see consistently day in and day out is your typical halal burger shop affair, including beef and chicken options, tenders, hot dogs, milkshakes plus the cheeky gyro of which I can definitely recommend their House Special Loaded Nashville Fries. What I haven't tried yet but really want to is the Desi specialty items which rotate based upon the owners selection. This place is still very new (as of writing this) and there's plenty left to say, but first time will tell whether it'll be here to speak on. Went in and ordered 2 hotdogs, it was over 20 minutes before I received them and only because I asked. People that had come in after me were served before me. When I finally got my food, I told her that took entirely too long and she litterally blamed it on Trump and said they're not coming in because of Trump deporting them. A few of our friends recommended this spot and we were NOT disappointed! Such a cute diner vibe and fun ambience. Their food and service were both 10/10. Prices were very reasonable, especially compared to other burger joints in the DFW area. We tried their smashburger, the sooner onion burger, a kids burger meal and the malai chicken roll. SO BOMB! Crystal Cafe kept the same decor as Meteor Burger down to the mini tvs on the right wall and the red light bulb. The restaurant was clean and so were the bathrooms. The staff on duty were very polite and fast. I came around noon and there were 2 guys. One was manning the register and the other was cooking. I ordered the mushroom burger with an extra patty, loaded beef fries, and a masala chai tea. It was a lot of food. The tea was good, not too sweet, and you can taste the spices they used. The loaded fries were delicious. The zinger seasoning they used was salty, sweet, a hint spicy. The house sauce was a creamy mayo aioli like sauce. The fries were crispy, and the beef was a chopped up beef patty with the zinger seasoning. Now the burger. It was juicy and messy! Reminds me of how Meteor Burger burgers would drip on the first bite. The BBQ sauce was a nice addition. The mushrooms were savory as well. I wish the bun was toasted more but it was still tasty. This was our first time to come here since it has new owners. This used to be meteor burger and we really enjoyed it and we weren't sure what to expect. The people that work there are friendly. We got the jalapeño burger combo, which includes a drink and regular french fries and, I got a spicy hotdog which was very good. The hamburger and french fries was good. The decor is similar to what it was previously except I think the booths have been recovered and they don't play oldies music but instead calm instrumental music (elevator music). First off, I went in with high expectations since this was Meteor Burger at one time and a Wyile food icon in the past. The service was nonexistent except for to take our order. My coworker asked what they would suggest and they basically had no clue. We ordered sat down, Not once did anybody come out and check on us and it's not like they were busy. (We were the only ones in the restaurant at lunch time 12:30pm) Another group of young men come in, must've been friends or family? Because they were gushing over them and could not get their food to them fast enough, Still not once. Did anybody ask if we needed anything? The burgers were considerably smaller than the buns and look like Bubba burgers! Fries were undercooked! The lady went several times over to the group and spoke to them and asked if they needed anything and not once walked over and asked us.
