This was our first time at Jake's, and it did not disappoint. We got the pick 3 appetizer with friend pickles, mozzarella sticks and jalapeno bottlecaps. It was all wonderful, but the bottlecaps were definitely my favorite. Such great flavor. I had the breakfast burger with fries and my husband had the chicken fried bacon burger (not sure the actual name) with the beer battered onion rings. We both loved the burgers and the Jumpin Jake Fries were incredible. I wanted to get another order to take home because we enjoyed them so much! It was a little loud for our taste, but it is a sports bar and there were a lot of young kids there as well. It wasnt a deal breaker, just a heads up for anyone who might not know what they're walking into. Our sever Adam was pretty good as well. Service was a little slow, but they were kind of busy on a Saturday afternoon. I do like that they hire local college students for their wait staff. My first "Jake's burger " was in 1985 On Skillman in Dallas Jacob "Jake " Keller' was the nephew of Jack Keller ( founder of Keller's Hamburgers ). Jake grew up in San Antonio and moved to Dallas to start Jake's in 1985 He sold the business and over the years others have owned it. Current ownership has done a fantastic job of providing great burgers a more diverse menu and a sports bar atmosphere. April at the Sachse location greeted and seating us. Her attentive service was excellent! Had a cheese burger and onion rings. It was very good and the poppyseed bun was delicious. The Frito pie is a winner. They also have a breakfast menu. I'll start with this so you know I'm not gassing anyone up: Jake's original fries are bad. Like a 2.5/10 on a good day. Most taste like cardboard, a few are decent, and that's being generous. Now that we've established honesty--Jake's Burgers is elite where it actually matters: the burgers. I've never had a bad burger here. I even willingly get the poppy seed bun, which I literally do nowhere else. That alone should tell you something. The Jake's Special is a 10/10. It's basically a Big Mac on steroids--tangy, slightly sweet, salty beef patties, and when you add mayo and tomato, it's ridiculous. Best, most consistent burger I've had in the Garland/Sachse area, no debate until proven otherwise. Tried the Texas Patty Melt for the first time and it delivered--9/10. Not your grandma's melt. Great flavor, perfectly sautéed onions, slight spicy kick. Only knock is the toast was a bit soggy and hard to hold, but still very legit. Bottom line: Jake's is the most consistent burger spot in the area. Fix the fries and this place would be dangerous. As a personal trainer, I don't take cheat meals lightly--and this is worth every calorie. I'll be back. read more

Went with a large group for birthday party. Ema, our server was spectacular. All our food came out as desired, hot and fresh. The wait time to sit was nonexistent. Our drinks were refreshed regularly. All our burgers were excellent. One of the reasons we come to this location is because Jake's has gluten-free buns. Some of the family requires that. We've ordered to go here several times and have enjoyed our food. Tonight while we were out and about we decided to eat in and have it fresh. Well we were seated quickly. They were not busy at all and we sat for about 15 minutes with no one even coming to take our order. We then watched another group come in get seated and immediately have a server show up. My nephews burger he could not even bite thru the burger due to toughness. My sisters burger had an off taste like the meat was old. Buns were very stale. The burger would have been fine otherwise and have never had issues with the other locations so I'm sure I will give them another chance, but not real soon. Was greeted as soon as I entered and chose to sit at the bar. Was really excited to try the burger and see if it lived up to all the hype I've heard. The bartender Lacy was super sweet and attentive. The Bacon Blue is the burger I got and it came out and was absolutely huge. Didn't realize that I had ordered a double patty burger so got a to-go box to go for at least one patty. The flavor was good however I was hoping for blue cheese crumbles not some type of a blue cheese almost ricotta style sauce. The meat was juicy however I don't think you could have gotten any thinner on the actual Patty itself. The size of the burger seemed to become more from the width of the bun and the fillers. I would come back and order it again but it definitely holds no comparison to the rodeo goat burger. I also gave a try on the pina colada cheesecake which just had a weird texture and just overpowering flavor of imitation coconut. Didn't even come close to eating that just had a few bites. The fried green tomatoes were good but still soaking in grease. The captain Morgan and cope of course was very good not watered down and were surprised. As this is the only pretty good burger that I've had near home I would come again if just wanting to get a quick burger. Otherwise I would travel a little further out to my favorite burger spot which is not daked. Sorry Jake's. The ambience is very low key come into work to James etc. Seems will cleaned and kept up which I love. Bathroom was in order as well which is also very important. There are plenty of TV screens so if you're wanting to watch a game or a dog show etc they have a good variety of channels playing. It was Wednesday date night and we had tried Jake's in the past when it had just opened. The first time our family received bad service by the door staff to the level that we left to another place. This was our third visit so I feel it was time to give the place a review. First, parking is limited due to the design of the area. On a busy night, parking will be at a premium. When you enter, you have to be seated by the host. It's a very spacious sports bar set up. The individual who sat us had a wide open venue yet sat us by the bathroom in front of glass windows with the sun shining right on us. By the time we were done with our meal, the sun was in our face. Our server came by to take our order, her approach was a bit rough for us on date night. We ordered the loaded cheese tots as an appetizer and our drinks arrived. The bathrooms are located in the back on the right side behind the kids game area. The restrooms are clean and well kept. The tater tots had a great flavor with the spicy salsa and cheese. The mother of cashew ordered the chili dog and I had the breakfast burger. This establishment charges you mad money for a side to your burger. As stated, the tots were 4 stars, burger was cooked to order and egg yolk was not hard. The sweet potato fries for 5 bucks were small and came with a candy like dipping sauce. I really don't know if our server was angry, pushy or a bit over but she did come around enough times.
