THIS PLACE IS CLEAN and that's a big deal to me. I saw cleaning products out and watched how they clean up after clients and disinfect items. Also, some of these reviews are so old and none of them make sense to me because I watched the way my gels were done and she paid extra attention to putting alcohol on my nail beds which helps the gel adhere. So people saying it came off are out of their minds. Additionally someone said the place in the mall is better. That place is disgusting! Crystal nails is way cleaner. I went to beauty school and know for a fact. I came in no appointment and got lucky and was seated to get a pedicure and manicure. Hannah was great. She is a perfectionist and made sure to keep me still while shaping and painting. Mind you they took off my gels and put on my gels and upon walking out it was only 110. Other shops in Ventura are 120 to 130 for the same service without tip. This allows me to give a very nice tip. I find their prices VERY REASONABLE. Anyone who is saying it's not hasn't been to pierpont nails or some other joints that are astronomical. Their pedicure was amazing! I will be back. The owner Peter was so sweet and he charged my phone for me and even complimented my nails. I don't mind paying with Zelle. That's the way our world is headed. I notice this all over now. I got my nails done weds night and by sat morning there were already several chips (for gel which usually lasts me weeks). And I hadn't done anything wild with my hands, I had only washed dishes like once. By Monday morning one 1 finger has already raised and chipped off totally. I've gone here for seven years and it is an amazing and very clean nail salon. Every single time I get my nails done here, they always do an outstanding job. It is definitely worth the time and money. I have no problem with my nails after I do laundry, cook, or clean. Peter and Hanna are the best. You will be welcomed with funny jokes and laughter! I just walked in on a Saturday at 4:45 and they close at 5 PM. I asked if it was too late for a pedicure and they said nope, come on in! They were in the middle of sanitizing all the foot tubs and I felt kind of bad getting one dirty, but the lady wasn't phased at all. Like the previous reviewer, I'm also new to the area and found this shop by chance. I've been to a few other places that were rated higher on Yelp, but was really disappointed by them. I liked Crystal Nails right away because the staff was friendly and immediately it appeared much cleaner than the others. The ladies were giggling like crazy about something the owner said and my pedicurist attempted to explain what was so funny. I was just amused at how much fun they seemed to be having, that I was happy to just follow along. I hate going to nail places where the staff feels like indentured servants. The nail selection is kind of limited, maybe 45 colors instead of the 80 most other places have. Halfway through my pedicure, I noticed a locked case of colors at the back of the shop, not sure what that's about, but I'll check it out next time. Even though she finished my pedicure 25 minutes after they closed, the owner wanted me to stay as long as I needed until my toes were dry, no rushing you out the door here! Overall, they were really nice and did a decent job on my tootsies. They do take credit cards, but seem to prefer cash. There's a $1 charge for credit. It was $27 for my spa pedicure, a little more pricey but I'd pay it for the comfortable feeling this salon gives off. read more

Upon arriving the man in the front was VERY pushy and impatient, I tried to take a few minutes to figure out the color I wanted but he kept saying "come, come". He would grab my hands very hard and kept saying "very sexy" I was very uncomfortable from the beginning and the way he was acting was very weird. They also charged an extra $5 for a little bit extra length as well as an extra $5 for SHAPE. I was dumbfounded. It was $95 for 2 full sets and my friends was VERY SHORT maybe a cm past her regular nail and it was still $45. The man at the front station kept on insisting that we go back for pedicures. For the amount of $$$ they are charging for their services, and being a service provider myself, I would have expected friendlier staff, and much better quality of service. I have to say, after reading the reviews, I was expecting a better experience. The women who did my nails, I don't remember her name, was very hot and cold. When I first came in she was very nice and welcoming. When she started my gel manicure she was working on my hand while I was flipping through colors. She kept pestering me to choose a color, which was unnecessary because that part of the manicure comes at the end OBVIOUSLY. She kept commenting on the fact that my eyes were red and I explained to her that my contacts do that sometimes but yet she continuously kept commenting on it. She did not do a thing to my cuticles and they did need some attention. When she went to apply my paint she left shavings and dust from filing on my nails and hands and in my cuticles, and did not have me go wash my hands. The color I chose was a dark purple and she had applied three coats and I could tell it needed another or two. I told her that and she seemed quite annoyed that I asked, but the color on my nails did not match he darkness on the sample. She applied another coat for me. There was also traces of gel nail polish on my finger skin which is usually cleaned up at the end, but she failed to do that. Then she put a bunch of oil on my hands with the nail dust and shavings still on them which was gross. Then she said my manicure was $30, but when I called in early that day I was told $25. She let me pay the $25. Toward the end of the manicure she said "are you not happy" which was pretty awkward, I lied and said yes because I really wanted to leave. I've had enough manicures to know that 1. Cuticle work is included, 2. You should wash your hands before applying polish, 3. After the manicure, a massage or just applying lotion takes place This is the first place I've gone to where these things did not happen. I did not tip and as is was saying thank you and goodbye as I walked out the door I did not get a response. read more

We waited any hour to start the pedi. By the time they started the water was cold. They didn't say sorry or anything. I'm so upset with myself that I didn't get up and walk out. My mom and I went after our Gym workout.. They did an awesome job on my nails.. I went to Marble nails on Victoria Ave not even two weeks ago and they did a horrible job.. I had three broken nails. Needless to say I was never going back to Marble Nails.. When my mom and I walked into Crystal nails they were not pushy and trying to sell a package..
