I called Crystal Overhead Door last week and immediately had somoene (Tom) come out the next day. Tom clearly knew his trade and recommended replacement of the cables, & pulleys as they were in really bad shape. I appreciate the maintenance recommendations from Tom and he also changed the burnt out bulb. My only "gripe" is that I thought the $90 service fee was on the high side, but maybe that's an industry standard? The gentleman was professional on the phone and scheduled someone to come out the next day. The repairman came at the scheduled time, after inspection explained the problem and got to work. A tardy update to my review on 6/16 to say once again, what a great guy Eric is. After our garage door bizarrely started having random problems again, Eric came over at 9 pm on 4th of July weekend to help us fix it. Which meant that we could sleep that night without worrying about someone coming into our garage and cleaning us out of all our old stuff....Hmmm, that might not have been a bad thing - maybe they would have cleaned the actual garage at the same time? Better than New Eric of Crystal Overhead Door came to our house to repair a 5 year old garage door that just "broke". 1) Eric gave us an estimated time for repairs, and kept his word. 2) He called and gave us 20 minutes before his visit, and kept his word. 3) Professional looking young fellow, friendly, but not too chatty. He wants to get the job done (just like you do). 4) He replaced some springs for the door that were obviously bigger and stronger than original equipment. He greased the door and showed my wife how to do the same thing. I never met him, but I like his work. My garage door is quiet and closes gently (no more bang). Lightning struck our transformer in the alley frying my and our neighbor's garage door openers. Called Crystal Overhead and they sent over Tom who was very thorough in assessing the problem. Not only did he replace the logic board but also applied some wd40 and made the door opening and closing much quieter. Highly recommend. Whole process was about 45 minutes. Once again I had to call on the guys from Crystal Overhead Door for help. I did some drywall work in my garage. Tried to be as careful as i could when moving and re-stapling the wires for the door opener, but something went wrong. I called for help this morning. They sent someone the same day! He arrived just before 2 pm. Checked out everything and found the issue with the wires from one of the sensors. Fixed the issue and was gone with check in hand by 2:30. The came out to tune-up the garage door and install a remote entry keypad. Everything went perfect, they were on time and did a great job. 5 months later i had to call them as i totally forgot how to open the garage door from the remote keypad they installed. I did a bone-head move, and tried to pull my car into the garage before the door was fully opened. I messed up a panel, and knock a majority of the door off the frame. I called the service we used 5 years ago and was told it was assumed by a new company. I needed emergency service, unless I didn't mind surrendering everything in e garage to the local thugs. While I waited for the tech, who was surprising quick, the neighbors stopped by to tell me every horror story possible about garage door techs. I also did some of my own research while I waited, which only increased my apprehension. I was trying to prepare myself to be told everything needed to be replaced. Tom called about 3 hours into the window, apologizing that he was running late but should arrive at X:XX, which was ~20 minutes after the window...which is not bad at all given how far we are from their typical locations. Tom was professional, friendly, fixed our problem quickly, explained the pricing prior to fixing it, checked our other doors for issues, suggested preventative maintenance and the fee was very reasonable based on other repairs we've had. They returned my call quickly and were at my house within the hour evaluating what was wrong. Broken spring on an old two car door had to be reconnected to allow the door to be raised.
