We came to CS to celebrate my parents' anniversary with some friends. The restaurant is very spacious, although if you're with a large party, all the long tables are within close proximity to others. The Caipirinhas are very strong and tasty. You can have it traditional or flavored. The salad bar has multiple salad options and fixings, plus hot foods. In terms of the meats, there are hits and misses. Our favorites by far were the brisket (you could pull it apart with your fork, it was so tender), and the pork ribs (amazingly seasoned). The lamb was great as well. Some of the steaks weren't seasoned well and/or tender. The servers were more than accommodating and pleasant. read more

The in-between: The service in general was not consistent. Our main server let drinks run dry and forgot to deliver more table shareables when we asked. First and last time going! It's hump day and we arrived at this place around 6ish and upon pulling up and parking, there are barely any cars in the parking lot. Upon walking in, the first think I noticed was that the place smelled like old mop water, I'm already thinking this is gonna be a bad experience! Just walking in to the place was giving depression by the dark atmosphere! Well when we walked in the woman asked if we had a reservation, I was CONFUSED, because the place was EMPTY, seemed like a very weird question to ask. No we do NOT have a reservation miss maams! The lady seated us and a young lady came over and gave us the run down about the menu and pointed us toward something they called a "Salad Bar", I know that was a lye because that was not a "Salad Bar" at all! Everything was dried up, looked like it was sitting out for hours, I was NOT eating that mess! I went back to my seat and waited for the people to come around and serve the meat, well, the well done meat was tough and overcooked, the medium rare meat was bleeding and the rare meat wasn't edible. Just about all the meat that was edible tasted SALTY! When they were slicing into the meat that looked like they stretched the meat and forced it onto the meat holder, they left blood on the table top and kept it moving. Let's not talk about the chicken smelling like mop water and was bloody too! On top of that, they brought the side dishes out at the end of our meal, like really?! The sad thing about this is they automatically charge a 20% gratuity no matter what! When we asked about the added gratuity, the young lady said it's on the wall when you walk in and also on the website. They overcharge people $64 per person for crappy food! Steak was pretty good, the ribeye was our favorite. The servers were good about checking on us and very nice! But I definelty would not call this a fine dining experience. It's pretty much one big space full of tables placed really close together. It's also very bright and the echoes of other tables talking fills the room. They have a dress code that is clearly not followed. We were really excited for a romantic evening and out and this restaurant simply wasn't that. It gives more family restaurant vibes than it does fine dining. Food was great, closer to 4-5 stars, however the service was terrible this time. We had a reservation during a holiday, which we knew would be busy, however we did not expect the restaurant to accept reservations until it is PAST its capacity. Due to the cancellation policy (cancelling less than 2 hours before your reservation time causes you to get charged $64 per person), we also could not just leave. The reception/host area was FULL of people with the same reservation time as us, and we didn't sit until a half hour after our reservation time. One of the staff, likely one of the owners, was incredibly unaware of what was going on while she was trying to help the hosts seat everyone and kept sending the hosts to tables that were already full when there were plenty of open tables. I'm sure she was trying to give the servers an even workload, however it made everything much more confusing and we all ended up sitting down at once, which made it basically impossible for servers to actually have time to come through for water, other drink orders, and most importantly for us, the check. The gauchos also did their best to try to get to everyone, but there were often long lapses when we were unable to get more meat, and because it was so ridiculously full, there were spurts where it was impossible to get anything from the salad bar. After we were finished, we attempted to politely flag down a server for close to 20-30 minutes. I understand that they were busy, but clearly this was an administrative error or misstep that led to this. Again, I have worked in various restaurants and understand that holidays will be busy, but when you are a restaurant that mainly takes reservations, this sort of thing is completely avoidable. The overhead price is more than enough to justify scheduling reservations a bit below capacity just to make sure everyone actually has an experience that is well worth the price tag. This was the only time I've been to a restaurant like this where I didn't tip more than the base gratuity that was added. My recommendation: Only go here if you think it's not going to be busy. Try to make your reservations for off times. As others said, the meat is salty, but I enjoy the coarser salt that they use because it contributes to a crunchy crust that I enjoy. I think it's definitely worth a try to see if you enjoy it. I have came at other times that are not particularly busy, and it's been a great experience. Tuesday 5pm we've walk in and place was empty but this guy asked we have a reservation? We asked do we need reservations even though place is empty? Seems ridiculous! Waited to see if he would seat us at the table, after over an 5 minute finally got a table and went to the salad bar to discovered everything seems too dry, perhaps was prepared hours ago and selection was limited! When I walked in at exactly 11:00 opening time, I had to ask if they were open. The receptionist said they needed 5 more minutes so I got a beer at the bar while I waited. They sat me and I immediately was directed to the salad/condiment bar where I stocked up on my favorites. Besides an extensive salad bar they also have pasta, rice, & other goodies to go with the meat. When the servers started to bring the meats, I passed on the sausage. Always the first to be served, I'd rather wait for the steaks/beef. I had an initial serving of pork ribs, then everything else was beef. Cuts of a sirloin, ribeye, and other cuts of beef. They also brought out roasted potatoes, bananas, and polenta. My fav was the banana, nicely carmelized. After about 6 rounds of beef (and another trip to the salad bar) I had to tap out. Kudos to manager Lavar (sp?) for going around and checking on everyone, all the staff were very service-oriented also. To me that's just as important as the food. All the meat came out hot and fresh, salted and seasoned well. One of the meats came out slightly overcooked and dry. We came here for my husband's birthday dinner. First off the salad bar is very good. All the items I got I thought were seasoned very well from the potatoes, green beans, asparagus etc. I loved how fresh everything was. We received this warm Brazilian cheese bread was to die for! The staff was very friendly and our water cups were filled the whole time. With our meal we got additional sides to the table including sweet plantains, roasted garlic potatoes and fried polenta sticks. Plantains were okay, polenta came out room temperature and potatoes were okay. On to the meats!! Top sirloin and bottom sirloin were seasoned well and juicy. I got the Parm pork chop and that was super salty. This place is very heavy on salt. My husband got the bacon wrapped filet (which was a tiny portion) and he said it was delicious. They only had one left to offer so I let him have it. The filet wrapped bacon didn't come around again until we asked for it. When I got mine it was severely overcooked and super salty. It's sad since it seems like some items were fantastic and some meats were just overcooked or salty. Regardless we filled our belly's up and still had a good time. I would say bigger chains like Fogo de Chao are better but we had to try it out! read more

This establishment having a 2.2 rating on yelp is disrespectful. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it shocking they charge automatic 20% gratuity even for a party of 2? Also yes. Does it have a Bob Evans with wine glasses vibe? Again yes! But also - I thought the service was spectacular. We were sat immediately, server was table side to get drinks within 2 mins. I asked if they have any NA beers - he said they didn't... so I asked for water which he got. A few mins later he followed up and came back and said they did have a couple options for me - I really appreciated the follow up, he could have left me thinking they didn't have any. We were checked on and helped out by no less than 4 different people, always happy to bring things or clear plates. It wasn't excessive - it was just the right amount of attention. Reservations online made it so EASY. This place is was 3.5 star food, with 4.5 star service and 2 star prices. My husband and I decided to try this place for the first time to celebrate. We had no regrets. The salad bar was amazing!!! The best I've ever been to. We really enjoyed the smoked salmon there. The people were so friendly. The owner was incredibly sweet. The decor was beautiful, I started to tear up. It was so romantic standing under the chandelier with my husband as the owner talked to us! They bring you so much delicious food. You can stop anytime you want. I especially liked the grilled pineapple, parmesean encrusted pork, and bacon wrapped filet mignon. We should've known when we walked in and saw the dreary cafeteria style lighting to turn around and leave. We paid for the "full experience" but instead had a horrible experience. It took about 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there, and even longer to get water. The salad bar was underwhelming and bland. We were told we would have chicken, beef, pork, and a pineapple options, but only ever had beef. All the beef that came out was well-done, and pooling in grease and fat, and they provided no other temperature options. I did like my caipirinha but my waitress never came back for me to order another. But thank goodness I didn't because I was charged more for the drink than what was displayed on the menu. We lost $165 in the restaurant but at least we gained the knowledge to never go back to this restaurant! read more

Tried the new CS by the Christiana mall tonight. First, let me just say the Russian gaucho (I think his name is Kadil) was the most amazing! He was personable and funny and just overall wonderful. So much so that we made sure to tell the manager, who was also pretty great himself. I think the two of them are a large portion of my rating. Without them I could see giving a three star rating (3.5 if I could do that on Yelp actually). Now, onto the food. If you're not familiar with Brazilian Steakhouses, they bring meats around table to table and ask if you want any of a certain cut. There's anywhere from 10-15 different meats that come out during the course of your meal. I'd suggest skipping the salad bar for the most part. It's pretty basic and average at best. As for the meats, the very best ones are the Picanha (top sirloin - it was my favorite - so juicy and flavorful), the filet mignon, the Costela (beef ribs - they were literally fall apart tender) and most surprising to me, the Pernil De Cordeiro (leg of lamb, which I normally don't really love but it was also tender and delicious). Additionally, the Abacaxi (grilled pineapple) was just great! I'd also give special mention to the side of potatoes too. They're definitely the best side. That being said some of the other meats were a little dry and not too much to my liking. Our waitress didn't check on us too much and we had to flag down a couple of other people for water twice. Also when we first got there it felt like the meats were coming at us a lot faster than other Brazillian Steakhouses we've previously been to. I know we can control that with our food cards but still it just felt very fast. I'd go back again. It's a unique experience for sure. Pretty pricey too. But, we didn't get to dessert and I've read some really great things about one of them! read more

Starting with the good: The food was very good (comparable to Fogo de Chao) and the servers were very friendly. The reason they got 3 stars instead of 5: there was an inadequate number of servers bringing the meat around (while probably an overabundance of non-meat servers). At two points during our meal, we clocked over 15 minutes between meat-servers coming to our table. This was especially disappointing considering that we had an early reservation (before 6pm) and the dining room was only half full. At $60 a head, we shouldn't be waiting around like that. Also, there are some patrons that don't eat pork so we politely pass up the pork options. But even after one of the 15-minute waits, the first 4 things that came around were bacon-wrapped chicken, pork tenderloin, pork sausage, and bacon-wrapped chicken (again). (Incidentally, the next thing that came around was the leg of lamb, which I don't love but we were hungry so we ate some. As the place is known for its steaks though, this was another disappointment) Moreover, there were several things on your menu we were looking forward to that never came out at all: lamb ribs, knuckled chicken (without bacon), and the garlic sirloin. We actually requested the garlic sirloin, and they agreed to bring it out but it was probably 25 minutes before it came out--well after we were finished our meal. We ate some to be polite (because we had requested it), and it was really good, but here's a tip if you go: if there's something you're interested in trying, don't wait to see what they bring out. Ask for it right away. Finally (sorry if this seems petty), we had a birthday at our table and the only thing you provided was a "free dessert on your next visit." So what you're saying is, you don't get to celebrate on your birthday but maybe another time? That seems chincy. So, we liked our meal but not our dining experience. I complained to waiters that they are not coming to us with the steaks and they made a excuse. It was so bad I had to ask to speak to a manager. Took 15 to get our bill and another 10 to get it back to sign. The food was good. The drinks were 12.00 for a medium size glass. Everything was time wise an issue. They needed more staff. So I've been to the Main St. location and it was decent so we decided to give their new restaurant a try, but when it comes to CS bigger does not mean better. First off, I ordered their house cocktail and was brought a cup of strawberry flavored goop. About 20 minutes later a staff member asked me why I hadn't drank much and when I gave my honest opinion, I was told "that sounds about right since the bartender is new and doesn't know how to make any drinks." Red flag, but whatever, we came for meat. However, we were sitting for 53 minutes (yes I timed it) before we were offered ANY meat. From then we were only offered sausage and pineapple so we said we were waiting for steak and were told it would take at least 15 minutes, but it ended up taking 37 to be brought bottom sirloin that was burnt to a crisp. Licking an ashtray would have been more enjoyable. We then asked if they could bring around filet or ribeye and although they said yes it took 90 minutes and what they brought out was raw (not rare - RAW). The owner Pam came around and she is something else. She was a Karen if I ever met one. She condescendingly asked if we know what a rodizio is then straight up told us we aren't allowed to pick and choose which meats we wanted. Isn't that the whole point? What's next? Going to an all-you-can-eat buffet and being told you can't go back for seconds of the dish you like and can only take from the dishes the manager allows you to try? How is it possible to be at a Brazilian Steakhouse for 3 hours and still leave hungry? We didn't want anything special - just steak. You would think a steakhouse could cook steak, or at least bring it out. Ribeye legitimately only came out twice the entire time and one of those times is when it came out mooing. It probably sounds like we're just picky or have high expectations, be we were not the only upset patrons. The table next to us left after an hour when they had only gotten one slice of meat but were annoyed with the service. Additionally the staff wasknowledgeable about what was or wasn't gluten-free. That being said, shout out to Levar for being the only likable staff member. But extra negative mention to Pam for being the worst. Bottom line, 0/10 would not recommend. If you are looking for a Brazilian Steakhouse drive the extra 40 minutes to King of Prussia and go to Fogo de Chão. read more

There were some good things. The first thing to know if you've never been is that there's no menu and it's an all-you-can-eat type of place. We went to the one near Costco in Wilimgton, DE. The cost is $60/pp. The salad bar was incredible. You basically go to the salad bar and pick out what you want. It's not your typical salad bar, it had rice and black beans, olives, charcuterie cuts cheese, etc... Various staff will then bring out various cuts of meat and will give you a slice. The beef varies from rib eye, sirloin, fillet and tri-tip, they also have pork, chicken and lamb chops. With that said, they bring out the lower quality meats more often. Doesn't matter if you ask for a specific one. You get whatever is out. They only offered the fillet, tri-tip and lamb chops once. We never even got the pork. They brought it out for the first time when we were done. We also didn't get any grilled pineapple, but saw other tables did, but they never brought it out or over to us. Also, if you like a rarer steak, you probably won't be thrilled. Most of their cuts were med-well or well done. And quite surprisingly, they were either pretty bland or very salty. And there's no salt or pepper on the table. For the price that they're charging, it wasn't worth it to me.
