    Pretzel Mac N Cheese
    Mairi M.

Came here last year with a friend--despite being a Saturday night, the place was pretty quiet. Definitely family friendly and a good spot to eat even if you can't enjoy the bar. Our waitress was great, super friendly. We ordered the bavarian pretzel appetizer (which is a must-order for me at any restaurant) and it was great--it was an appropriate amount and the pretzels were soft. They provided both mustard and beer cheese dipping options, which was a plus as I hate when establishments only have the mustard or regular cheese. For my main, I had the pretzel mac & cheese, which I don't think is still served. That one was just alright. My friend, on the other hand, had the grilled chicken sandwich, which she loved! It was actually the reason we chose the restaurant as she had eaten the sandwich a few weeks prior when with her family and she couldn't forget it.

Newark location is a no go for me! Compared the the Wilmington location there is a big difference in staff, food, drink knowledge, and parking! Parking in Newark is horrible. It took me 15 minutes and talking down the parking people because the app didn't work and I was on the verge of being ticketed. When asking which beer most resembled a Belgium Wheat I was told that all beers are basically wheat because they are all made with wheat. Comical but not helpful. The tacos were good, the Caesar salad was good, but the soup was horrible. Tasted like it came from a can. The overall ambiance was old and not well kept. Safe to say the Wilmington location is the only one for me!

We went for dessert and coffee. As soon as we were taken to the dining area there was a funky smell. We almost left but was greeted by our server, Amber, who was delightful so we stayed. We tried their signature dessert and was not disappointed. The peanut caramel sauce was amazing. The coffee was good, too. But what made our visit was Amber. The only reason the review is not a 5 star is because of the off-putting odor. Hopefully it is unusual and is resolved shortly. Either way, Amber is a gem!

Ugh. Now I remember why I never come here. ‍ Place is filthy and in disrepair. To say the LEAST. Reinvest in your business! Urinal broken. HVAC broken. Carpets? Yuck! Look at the crumbs in the crack of our booth!!! Outrageous. See pics. Service sucks. Super slow. Took 10 minutes to get drinks. Forever to get food. Forever to get refills. Had to ask for them. Forever to get check. Had to ask for it. Someone please train her. Guy in kitchen chewing gum. No hair nets. Cook wearing ear buds. #FoodSafety Gordon Ramsey and Robert Irvine would have a hay day with this place. Years ago, was decent... Now I remember why I never come here. Over priced. Filthy. Crap service. Waste of money. You literally feel dirty just being in the place. Only reason this place even stays in business is because there's a lack of better options on Main Street. And who even wants to go to Main Street--what a pain in the butt--traffic...paying to park... My sons got Ice Cream with their kid's meal...it was super soft--like milkshake soft--is your freezer working? Burger wasn't that bad...was actually cooked decently--but only had 1 piece of bacon...? See pic. My wife got a pizza and that was ok. Serve overcharged me for a drink...had her correct it...she then brought back the original receipt back (not the corrected one). Trying to inflate the tip? I still tipped 16.5% ish...but it was totally undeserved. You entire job is to literally wait on us--but we were waiting on you! Step it up, Iron Hill. Get a new GM ASAP. This place is lacking Leadership severely. ‍ I hope your corporate office reads these...

Brewben Sandwich...good but fries were sub par

Solid 3 stars... Looking for a brew pub in this quaint college town, and this joint fit the bill! Started out with the Reuben Sandwich...good meat, good portion, good bread. Could stand more crisp to the bread, and the fries were a bit soggy. Great beer selection, plenty of TV's for the game, and the dessert nearly put me under... Chocolate hill was a nice blend of brownie, fudge, ice cream, and nuts... I couldn't tackle it by myself but I sure tried! Ambiance is Victorian beer hall, service was friendly at the bar, and prices were ok. Not sure if do the same sandwich, but the beer and dessert have we wanting more...if I'm in the area I'll pop in for sure! This joint makes the list!

100% would come back here. This is the spot for a nice dinner and date. Firstly, I have an extreme medical condition- I am sucrose intolerant and it makes eating out pretty hard to do. Our waiter Joe was super attentive and grabbed Chef Paul to ensure that I was ordering items that would be okay for me. Chef Paul was extremely knowledgeable and kind and accommodating. We ended up ordering: Cheese steak egg rolls (soooo good, had to get an order to go) hummus truffle fries 2 burgers crispy brussels. There was a horseradish and a hots type of sauce for the eggrolls that was addictive af. JUST GET THEM. Hostess was kind, Joe was great and food came out super quick, was hot, and so so so good. Environment was nice and warm, perfect for a late lunch on a saturday. 11/10 would come back when we are in town.

Iron Hill was always the go-to spot when I'd visit my friend at UDel a few years ago.. I went back recently and nothing has changed! Delicious Korean BBQ wings and burgers. A wide variety of beer for any beer lover. And a fun environment, for a nice dinner or the game!

Ale/Onion Soup Au Gratin inner showing bread chunk size

Beer variety is anemic. Service is excellent and deserves 5 stars, but unfortunately is wasted on a restaurant with 2-star offerings catering to students who -- assumedly -- don't know the difference and don't care. Pricing is aligned with what you would expect from this segment of the restaurant space; expect to pay 7-8 bucks for a soup and the same for a beer. I ordered the Gumbo and the French Onion/Soup Au Gratin. The gumbo somehow manages to be flavorless despite having all of the necessary ingredients on-paper and not being AS thick and starchy as West Coast re-interpretations of this classic Bayou staple. I would be surprised if it didn't come out of a can. It's not straight soup, either, but comes on a hidden bed of rice to bulk the volume. If you don't like rice in your gumbo, too bad. The french onion / soup au gratin is...confused. This feels constructed by a recent culinary school graduate who wants to make his chef father proud but has never had the heart nor the soul for cuisine. The bread chunks are LARGE and un-cubed but for some reason aren't...used for presentation, as they should be if they are large, panini-sized chunks. The cheese is thick and cumbersome, and entirely the wrong type of cheese. Once you wrestle away the cheese you're at a loss for what to do with it after revealing the tasty, tasty broth awaiting beneath. Eating the cheese WITH the soup and somehow the bread on the same spoon insults the french onion flavor, yet eating it in isolation yields a piece of soggy cheese. Horrible. Music is good though. And nice tables.

Good quality service can be a little slower times because of the volume tonight's menu. Nice restaurant.

I enjoyed the bacon and cheese potato kegs. My wife and I split the BLT and grilled cheese. Hers came with a side salad mine with shoe string fries. My son has the salad. Salmon was very good, it was vodka cured; bloodline and skin removed (+++)! Grain was pretty busy for mid-afternoon on a Sunday. Modern pub/ sports pub feel. Phillies game on the TVs. Music playing. Service was OK. My one pet peeve is allowing servers to leave dirty dishes and empty glasses on the table. And our server, although attentive, did not clear any dishes or glasses. Thank god I don't have epilepsy, the light over our table kept blinking non-stop. Plenty of off street parking for patrons. Lots of varied seating, both indoor and outdoor. See warning sign in my pics (haha). As far as prices, they are in line with any other places, as far as these other reviews that said it is excessively expensive, not true. Lunches are $15-20. Apps are a little pricey. Nice beer selection in the $8 ish range. Forgot I wanted to get a pan dessert, next time. I paid using InKind and got a nice discount.

Not surprising, as on holiday weekends most students go home so the town isn't crowded like a usual week. Service was friendly, fast and attentive. Everyone's meals were very good, except for mine. I made a bad choice. Skip the hot honey chicken over donuts brunch item. Its nothing more than 3 chicken fingers over what tasted like a couple of dry entemann's donuts. (Missed opportunity..theres a greta bakery across the street..should get fresh glazed donuts from them. The donuts ruined the dish. Other meals were very good. Easter quiche special with hollandaise sauce and fried potatoes was delicious, although the size of quiche slices was kind of small. Burrata avocado toast was great, and so was their cheese omelette. It was perfect dining for us as we didn't want a heavy, upscale meal at 1:30 in the afternoon. Will definitely come back next time we are in town for dinner and drinks.
