I've lived in the North Dallas area for over 30 years, but I only discovered this place right before we moved. OMG, the food is outstanding; I ate until I couldn't eat any more, and still my mouth wanted more... best pork I've ever had. The staff is wonderful--so friendly and welcoming, like they are inviting you into their home. We didn't speak Spanish, and the staff didn't speak much English. Went here for a business lunch. Had the Arroz con Pollo (yellow rice with dark meat chicken) along with a Mojito Cubano. Excelente!! Loved the toasted bread appetizer! One of the best traditional mojitos I've had in quite a while!! Was happy to have a to-go box for the leftover arroz y pollo and the bread...the sign of good portions. A gem! I'm puertorriqueño and lived in Miami 20 year, believe me when I tell you that this is authentic Cuban food. Passion mojito was delicious, my husband had the masitas de puedo, suer tender and juicy. I had the grilled fillet, moros (rice and beans) and of course tostones. We also tried their sample appetizer and the mariquitas. All delish! Almost forgot we also had the passions and con unit flan (custard) and ended the night with a cafecito. I've only been here once and ordered the Cubana (Cuban sandwich) to go. Service was prompt and friendly! The food was hot and fresh. The sandwich was DELICIOUS! The bread was perfectly grilled - crispy crust and soft inside. I think I'll ask for more pickles next time, I love pickles. The pork was flavorful and tender - it was good meat, not fatty. WOW!!!! I've been looking for the perfect Cuban restaurant, and I think I may have found it. I've tried Cuban food in Chicago, Los Angeles and Texas....and this by far has been the tastiest restaurant I've ever had. This is what we had For Appetizers: Yuca Frita and Papas Rellenas. Both came with a small dish of mojo. The mojo had so much flavor, the yuca was crunchy and delicious. And the Papas were so smooth inside and had the perfect balance of meat to potato. Our main dishes were: Puerco Asado with white rice and sweet plantains and Masas de Puerco Frita with Congri rice and sweet plantains. Let me start by saying the Puerco Asado was so tender and juicy. I've had this type of pork in other places, and you can tell that it had been refrigerated and warmed up. Usually a quick pan fry to warm up. To me, that takes away from how tender the pork should be. This one was AMAZING, slow roasted with a garlic mojo and onions. The masitas were crunchy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside. That also had the garlic mojo on top with the sautéed onions. The service was fantastic. Our server was sweet and attentive. If you want a cocktail, they have a bar. We opted for a water and a coke. We ordered the churrasco and the masa's de puerco. The pork chunks were good and very tender. The churrasco with chimichurri sauce was disappointing. The steak was NOT typical churrasco nor was the chimichurri sauce very good. It looked like it was out of a bottle. We also ordered mariquitas which typically are served with a mojo dipping sauce. The sauce was more like mojo out of a bottle was was not freshly made. I grew up in Florida where there is a Cuban restaurant in every corner so maybe my expectations were a little higher. We had an early dinner here on a Sunday recently. Don't be discouraged by the construction going on (as of this writing), it's open and operating normally. Perusing the menu, my dining partner requested a passion fruit shake, which she really loved. I had a taste, and it was thick and sweet, a nice refreshment on a warm day. Moving to the food, we started with papas rellenas, potatoes stuffed with Cuban picadillo. The picadillo was spiced well and made a great complement to the soft potato. A nice starter. I also selected the caldoza (soup), and it was really nice. Featuring pork, potatoes, sweet potatoes, malanga, pumpkin, and corn, it had a lot going on, but didn't feel too "busy". The pumpkin and sweet potato lent a mild sweetness and color, and the pork was tender and delicious. We also had yuca frita, which was a great example of the dish. Perfectly crisped on the outside, yet still soft on the inside, it also featured a delicious ajo sauce that I could have just drank from a glass. For the main course, we shared the rabo encendido Cubano (oxtail). It was served with black beans which my partner said were some of the best she's had at a restaurant (I enjoyed them as well). The oxtail was meaty and delicious, and the wine and tomato sauce was rich and tasty. It could have used a bit more sazon, but it was really good and tender, and we didn't have to fight it off of the bone. This was a nice meal, and I'd definitely come back here to try some other dishes as well. I'd love to try their Cuban sandwich; I'm always in search of a good one. read more

I was missing Miami so i found this place. And I'm so glad i did. The mojo-'chefs kiss'. The tostones perfecto. Tostones rellenos con camerones tasted just like i remember. I know a good Cuban restaurant when I see one and this spot has it all. We knew nothing about Cuban food but met our eldest son there at his request. Memorial Day and a little quiet but consistent. The guys both had sandwiches. They were large and presented beautifully. Fries were average in taste but fresh. I had plantain nachos and it was wonderful. I chose between beef and pork for the topping and it included sliced olives. Not Mexican nachos for sure. Incredible flavor. We had white rice with black beans - and let me say their white rice was absolute perfection. We ordered the pan con bistec y huevo, croquestas de jamon, masitas fritas, tostones rellenos con ropa vieja and empanadas de carne.
