With 4 of my co-workers down here to help me out with Yelp Spring Break I knew I needed to get them some food from my motherland at one point or another. Our event in Pompano Beach was the perfect excuse! Picked up for the team a medley of delicious cuban treats - Media noches - delicious! Super staked with pork, ham, cheese and pickles on a sweet bread. Media Noches are my favorite sandwich of all time. These were great! Pastelitos de guava, pastelitos de queso, pastelitos de guava y queso - all of them were great! flaky, good amount of guava/cheese. Perhaps the best pastelitos I have found in BPB so far. Tostadas (toast) - I mean, it's cuban bread with butter. Solid. Jupina - pineapple soda that reminds me of my childhood. You can get this anywhere, but man I love it. Cafe Con Leche - Super sweet....just how I like it. Really great coffee! The place is tiny - get carry out (or they deliver). We cleared them out of pastelitos (granted, we got a lot) so make sure you come early if you want those bad boys, I heard the bring them in from a place in Hialeah (so you know they are legit!). As swamped as they were, the service was really good - and they banged out our massive order super fast. Even ordering a TON of stuff, the bill wasn't all that much....so it's super affordable for a quick, delicious lunch. I'll be back again to get my Cuban fix! read more

I hate to give three ^ reviews to places like this because I love to support small local businesses. However last a Thursday I stopped by around 9 am to grab some Cafesito and Empanadas for me and my coworkers. My order was simple two empanadas of Pollo, two Empanadas of Chicken, 4 croquetas and 2 cafesitos. Well it took me 30 min before I got my orden, I understand and I always love it when my meal is fresh, but 30 min specially in the morning when I am on my way to work is a bit much. The food was good, the service was good and people was friendly, but they definitely need to work on their speed. I probably will continue attending to this place to grab cafesito, but probably not if I need a quick stop. read more

Cuban Café is to authentic, neighborhood cuban food as Celia Cruz is to salsa music. They have put Pompano Beach on the map for all the good stuff you would find everywhere in Hialeah. A pet peeve I've developed (as if there is not enough 1st world problems), is Yelpers stating that they denoted a percentage of their rating based on location (abandon-looking strip malls, locating next to somewhere unexpected,ect.). With that said, located on a non-favorable street, underdeveloped plaza, next to a run down tile store,almost might turn a potential patron away. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or in this case, your taste buds. Immediately greeted when entering, even with counter full of patrons. I was treated as if all attention was on me, and my request(s) being 1st priority. I was overhearing the owner? answering orders on the phone (ringing every 5min.), and seemed like those on the receiving side were granted a favor from the café versus the café granted a favor from receiving business. It says A LOT when the employees know the customers well and talk amongst one another like family. I ordered breakfast (serve all day)-2 eggs, sausage or bacon (I chose no meat so they gave me cheese on top of my eggs), cuban toast, potatoes, and coffee. TRY THEIR CAFE CON LECHE! Dip cuban toast in it and you can die happy. I added a side of sweet plantains-perfection! The potatoes were golden, crispy, fresh. On my 1st visit, I had their guava and cheese pastry; delish. OK....I'm a bit of a snob when a place claimes to be a cuban cafe......what does this place do that the other places in broward or dade do not???? Provide cuban bread and cheese. Yes, this is HUGE. I am friends with many cubans, half claim cheese bread is a cuban staple, the other claims that cuban bread and cheese is not "cuban". Those that claim cheese bread is not cuban are fucking posers..OK?!What the fuck dude, I've been around and I know that if a place claims to be authentic cuban, posters of Didier Hernandez or Daniel Rene do not make you authentic by any means. Frothy mutha fucking cuban coffee that is referred to as a "buchee" and some warm crusty bread and cheese will get you the "classic cuban" stamp. This place gets that stamp. Quick easy to order. I had the pan con bistec and the bread was perfectly toasted. The steak was a little over cooked but the flavors came Together well. If I'm in the area again I'll deff stop by. First off, let me say that this place does not even deserve 1 STAR. I refuse to ever step foot inside this dump ever again for the following reasons : 1.) The door has a sign stating that you must wear a mask, however none of the employees, given the state of the Pandemic and Florida being one of the 9 HOT SPOTS for the COVID 19 virus, were wearing masks. I believe they are endangering themselves and the public by not wearing or practicing safe PPE ! 2.) Upon entering there was NOT 1 single employee who said hello, can I help you ? The so called cashier, who was intrigued by whatever garbage he was looking at on his cell phone, did not look up once to see me standing there waiting for assistance. 3.) The time of day in which I decided to go and get a coffee, was not busy but with one client placing an order, myself and another client who walked in and was attended to before I was even acknowledged. While waiting, we asked if they do catering. The owner told us that he closes at 4pm so he can not help us with catering. Apparently no delivery driver will be available after 3pm. Not good! Great service. Very authentic bar stool set up. The servers were bilingual which made it easy for my American girlfriend to order. I ordered the Cuban breakfast special. At 3pm they were nice enough to make it even though they stopped serving breakfast at 11. The coffee was perfectly made with sugar in it. A vagrant walked in asking for toast and the owner of the restaurant was nice enough to make him a ham and cheese sandwich. read more

We popped in here for a quick bite of lunch. After pulling into the carpark, we were prepared for a second rate experience. From the outside the premises look tired and the carpark is grubby. Undaunted, we sallied forth. As we walked in we were met with multiple friendly greetings...and we noticed the clientele was distinctly Cuban in appearance. And an appropriate ethnic presence, in an ethnic cafe, is always a good thing. It's rightly described as a hole-in-the-wall type eatery with a dozen stools in front of a u-shaped counter. The menu is varied, Cuban and quite cheap. Miss had media noche, I had empanadas. Both were very good. The crew is mostly friendly and laid back, food handling seems to be good and hygienic, and the service was relatively quick. This place has no pretentions. It is a small, well lived in cafe in a predominantly light-industrial area. The food is good, honest and plentiful. It doesn't set any high culinary bars; it just promises good basic food at a good basic price. And, in that endeavor, Cuban Cafe succeeds. Meh. I ordered a Cuban sandwhich and vaca frita. I originally wanted a side of yuca fries, but the lady said I could substitute my included rice and beans with any side. So, I chose yuca and black beans. I was pretty pissed off, when I opened the box and there were THREE fries. The beans were totally unseasoned and bland, and the sandwich was pretty mediocre. This little hole-in-the-wall is a gem! It screams cozy, comfortable old-school diner atmosphere but serves up some awesome grub! A client of mine is of Cuban decent so I asked him to take me to someplace that serves up down-home authentic Cuban cuisine so here brought me here. The special of the day was the oxtail soup. I had to try this because being Korean and coming from Hawaii, oxtail is a big part of both of my cultures. And apparently it is with Cubans too. Their twist on the oxtail was different, in a good way. It was more of a stew-like consistency and I think it was tomato based. Nonetheless, it was awesome! Tiny hole in the wall with great food and it shows because everyone there is a regular. The owner knows everyone who are sitting at the counter and everyone picking up their take out orders. The place is tiny with 2 bar countertops and no tables. It's was packed when I went to pick up my food. Everyone seemed to be eating the of tail and they recommended that I get it too. I'm glad I did. It was delicious. I'll be back to try other items on the menu next time I'm in the area. The parking lot is the worst I've seen. Giant pot holes in a tiny lot with barely any spots but there's another lot across the street. Most people do take out. read more

Although the place does not look like much from the outside, the sandwiches are delicious and the coffee is great. We ordered the cubano, medianoche and ham croquette. visiting from up north, I was planning on a 45 min drive down to Miami for some "real" Cuban food. So glad I jumped on Yelp and saved myself a long drive from Nana's house. We were the only people in the place who didn't speak Spanish, but the entire crew was patient and welcoming. I started with black beans and rice which was perfectly spiced. so simple but so hard to get just right. brought a side home for my daughter and she loved it. Cafe con leche was steaming hot and perfect. Cuban sandwiches were hot and melted, but not greasy. Roasted pork was tender and savory. they were 10" long and full of meat for under $6??? The Ropa vieja was very juicy and flavorful. Lechon asado as well. Cafe con leche was a 4, not the best I've had but still very good. Seating first come first serve at the counter, but we found enough chairs in a few minutes as service is quick. So good we came back the next day! Only sad that we missed the Tuesday oxtail special. Maybe next time we are in Pompano. Also they close earlier than we would have hoped. We might have been able to squeeze in a few more visits. I have never gave a place 5 stars, but there's a first for everything! Everything I tasted was simply amazing. I had the steak sandwich with everything, and boy was it worth every penny! They have daily specials Monday thru Friday and they sell at quick! It's that good! They're open early and close by 4. Great to get stuff before work if you love cuban coffee. Workers were so friendly and love talking to you about anything. I spoke to the owners son while was waiting for my food and he was a great person. Little small cafe, but full of life. I went to eat lunch here. I'm Cuban so I was excited to try their food because there aren't many Cuban food locations around. I was sadly disappointed. The food lacked authentic flavor.
