    Is it worth it'

Let's me start off with the ambiance of this place is a 10 out of 10. Very welcoming and the decor is sleek & modern. Customer Service is truly amazing... The owner is very accommodating to making this right! Now, with that being said we ordered a variety of food and cocktails in which this is where I was highly disappointed Food I'm give it a 3 out of 10 and cocktails 0 out of 0. The place needs a mixologist seriously, for the cost of the drinks you would be highly disappointed. Best two things on the menu I would say is the cabbage and the oxtails in which are highly overpriced. Would I return probably not, but hey I suggest try them at your own risk. Just my recommendation ‍

this place is so beautiful and the music is amazing. the Jollaf was a little undercooked thats why they get a 4 but everything else was amazing! the Jerk chicken, sauce, peas and ruce, cabbage , spinach and oxtails. not pictured were the plantains and those were so amazing!!

5/5 - I'd Drive an Hour Again, Happily (and I hate driving) Listen... if I drive an hour for food, it better slap. And Cubana Grille? SLAPPED. African-Jamaican fusion that's fresh, flavorful, and legit. The vibes are chill, the decor is cute, and the owner is an angel. He let my friends throw me a surprise baby shower here . I went all in with the Afro-Caribbean platter: jollof rice, rice & peas, curry chicken, jerk chicken, and cabbage. Plus it came with this tasty little curried potato + carrot situation. *Chef's kiss* Chicken fell off the bone! Both rices were flavorful, and the cabbage was cooked just right. Washed it all down with a Jamaican pineapple soda (so good) and also grabbed a chicken patty because why not? No regrets. I hate driving. I complain the whole time. But I'd absolutely trek back out here with no complaints. That should tell you everything.

I saw an IG post which enticed us to come because my daughter wanted to try foo foo. We arrived about bit after 7pm and were seated immediately. There were a few other tables of people and others started coming in shortly thereafter. Inside is decorated nicely - cool, chill atmosphere. We were given menus and looked them over to decide what we wanted. There was one server at the time we were seated, but two more started afterwards when more people arrived. We got the beef patty, chicken patty, and Nigerian meat pie to share between the 4 of us. My son loved the beef patty and daughter loved the chicken patty. The Nigerian meat pie was good but not our favorite of the three. I had the curry chicken, hubby & son got shawarma, and my daughter got the foo foo dish. I loved my curry chicken with spinach and jolloff rice - very flavorful. Hubby & son enjoyed their shawarma. My daughter didn't exactly love the foo foo though. She did taste some of our food and enjoyed it better than hers. Overall, good food. I really wanted oxtail but didn't want to spend the $40 for the dish. I'm sure it's great though and may try on another visit.

Met a friend here on a Sunday evening. We had no reservations so we took a chance. When you walk in the decor is very nice. It was no one there so our waitress let us pick our own seats. There were tables with nice chairs and booths. We chose a table. I will say our waitress was very truthful if we asked a question about food or drink preferences. I got the jerk chicken with sides and my friend got the fried chicken. Everything was good just wish the jerk chicken had a little bit more flavor. Also wish they were not out of jollof rice

We've driven past here several times and wanted to give this place a try. Service was good, but dishes were overly priced. We thought it would be mean to just walk out, so we decided to stay and give if a shot. My fried chicken was crispy but had no flavor on the inside. I was disappointed. We, unfortunately, won't be back.

Everything was delicious. The jerk chicken is so moist and falls off the bone. Beef Suya is great, just needs more spicy. Oxtails were fantastic and the cabbage is amazing. Nigerian meat pie was amazing too. Beautiful location and service was great. Will be back.

My first time ordering on door dash and I will never order again. This plate cost $50. I ordered oxtails and this is what I was given! Please save yourself some time

Delicious!! I ordered the jerk chicken with cabbage and rice. The chicken was flavorful, well spiced, and fell off the bone! I highly recommend this place!!

This was our second time visiting. We ordered almost the same as before (jerk chicken, jollof rice, Jamaican meat pie, veggies & puff puffs). This time though we ordered our food to-go. The taste was consistent to our first visit and the portion sizes were decent although the veggies (cabbage for me and spinach for my wife could have been a bit more generous). We were also disappointed we had to split the meat pie when the online photo showed two. During our previous visit the owner mentioned they were planning to add a few Cuban dishes to the menu to address the confusion over the name. We did not notice anything Cuban was added but did still see the banner hanging outside that says Nigerian and Jamaican food. We assume that means they are going to live with the controversy. Overall, still a somewhat pricier meal. Probably more of a "dining experience" than lunch or dinner option. If you do go enjoy your food on-site to partake of the ambiance, hospitality and culture.

Food and atmosphere were great! Afro beats music and vibrant decor are very welcoming. The owner came to our table and greeted our group of 8 and we had a very attentive waitress. My chicken curry fell off the bone, the puff puff was perfectly sweet and crisp on the outside and o loved the spinach and plantains. If you're a ginger fan, try the pineapple ginger drink! So good! Can't wait to come back. I can definitely see myself hosting an event or party here that's larger than our small baby shower dinner.

Great ambiance and amazing food. I had the jerk chicken with cabbage and jollof rice. Service was fast and outstanding! Will be back.

The ambiance and decor of this place is nice. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place and our stomachs were prepared to feast. I ordered the catfish and fries and I was excited about it because I've been wanting some good catfish and you can't go wrong with fries. I was wrong. Exactly how the plate looks in the picture is exactly how it was left. I tried the catfish by itself and it was very bland, no flavor whatsoever. I tried the fish with ketchup and some sort of sauce they had, that made it no better. The catfish was fried really well and looked good the fries were bland as well. I had my boyfriend try it and he didn't care for it either. I'd give the catfish plate a 2/10. My boyfriend had the Jerk Chicken, he said it was okay but it didn't taste authentic not much flavor there either. He ate more than I did. When one of the girls asked how was the food. I proceeded to give her my honest feedback, she went and got the gentleman who may or may not be the owner. I told him feed back regarding the food and he tells me "it's just your tastebuds". Then proceeded to talk about a ladies night. That honestly rubbed me the wrong way a little bit, I am huge on customer service and customer retention, he wasn't rude or anything I just didn't care for the response like my tastebuds are lying to me. I dislike wasting money on food so needless to say I more than likely won't be back. However I do hope this business prospers and maybe it was just an off day I'm not sure but I wish the staff and owners well

They were not only beautifully crafted but absolutely delicious--each sip had us dreaming of swaying palm trees, ocean breezes, and a Hawaiian getaway. We loved both the Mai Tais and the Beachy Bookkeeper! We decided to share a few appetizers. The Meatballs al Forno was my favorite...packed with flavor and perfect for enjoying with friends over drinks. The Heirloom Tomato Burrata was okay however, the tomatoes didn't seem ripe and were hard and chewy. The Lobster in a Jar was tasty - on the pricey side if you ask me though... One of my favorite things about this spot is the ambiance. The lighting is low (and by low I am flat out dark where you almost can't see your hand in front of your face), creating a dark, cozy, and intimate atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and unwind after a long day. Whether you're catching up with friends, enjoying a date night, or simply looking for a place to escape for a few hours, the vibe here is spot on. The service was fantastic as well. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed, which only added to the experience. Tiki Tuesday has officially become one of my favorite weekly traditions. Great drinks, delicious appetizers, wonderful service, and a cozy atmosphere--what more could you ask for? I'll definitely be back next Tuesday for another little island escape. Walk in via J Theodore, the ohone booth is to the left. It's a cool novelty calling with a book name to enter via the book shelf. Once inside the speak easy area there were two seating options. The Library which is set away from the open lounge area and quieter or the lounge area with the bar. They would not let us pick our spot despite seating being available. We opted for the lounge area as the seat offered to us there was better to our preference. The tables are packed quiet tightly which i dont like personally but i get it. That tidbit aside it is definitely a cool environment. Service was really nice and the food we ordered was great. I presume it's the same menu as J Theodore so I'm going to have to try that now for a more restaurant style meal. This is a cool place to hang out and bring friends imo. Since we don't really drink we'll probably end up at the restaurant next time as it's not easy to eat on tiny tables. It's a bar/lounge after all.

We had reservations but there was no major crowd at 5:30. The place is contemporary, white tiles, brass finishes. Fully stocked bar. Nice big windows. Started with a Rail District cocktail that was really good. Finished with a Last Word which had a strong licorice flavor (not my fav) but the cherry at the bottom was great! We split the SPREADABLE WHIPPED LEMON BASIL GOAT CHEESE. Loved this. But note to the Chef or food prep - the toast crackers had so many holes in the bread, there was NO surface for the spreadable. Pieces of toast were basically outer crust and the inner area of bread had 90% giant holes. It was comical. Whoever plated this should have been more selective. My wife had the Salmon and I had the steak. The steak had a large pad of delicious blue cheese and butter on top of it, that slowly melted over the steak and potatoes. That was special. There's a great view, plus both indoor and outdoor seating, and the water tower right there adds a really charming touch. Since it's newly opened, I'm really hoping they do well--this place deserves it. I also heard they'll be expanding into the suite next door, which is exciting.
