Hands down my favorite sweet potato fries!!! This place hash fresh & flavorful food that does not disappoint.

Let me start by saying; I love burgers! I have tried their Gypsy burger a couple of times and the flavor was consistent. Also, the quality of the beef that they use is very good and, you'll know right when you take the first bite. I have also tried the tri-tip, sandwich and i thought was decent but not as good as the burgers. Their fries need their own paragraph. The rosemary fries are so good!! My goodness, talk about a crunchy and soft fry in the middle that's cooked to perfection. Aaaaand if you like thin cut fries that's your place. My other two favorite fries are the buffalo and BBQ fries they are the bomb!!! If you're into burgers and fries that's a good place to try. I also like that they have fresh quality food so when you're done eating you don't feel off because they have good quality ingredients. In addition, I like that they have lots of non meat options and salads. Ohhh I almost forgot. The mac n cheese though!! It's so creamy yet cheesy and full of flavor. I called ahead for breakfast was told it would be 20 'minutes. I arrived five minutes early and paid for the meal. I waited 20 more minutes before it was delivered to me. I observed that most of the mail had been put in a paper bag and was cooling off when I arrived, not under the warming lights. They forgot to cook a French toast and let everything else get cold. Do yourself a solid and eat @ this place!! We are new to Salt Lake and recently relocated to South Jordan. My wife and I love to frequent the local guy and so this was one of the first joints we visited. SO HAPPY WE DID! Since moving here we've been to Cubby's no less than 8 times ... we truly enjoy the food and vibe that much! The salads are truly exceptional which is a funny thing to rave about but really, they are THAT GOOD. The Dragonslayer is a damn good burger and really liked the unique approach to buffalo chicken in a sammich. We have not yet had a bad anything and will most definitely be regulars. Oh ... and try the "apple beer" on tap ... delicious and a great twist on soft drinks. One last tip for the good people of Cubby's ... throw in a full service bar and we're HOOKED! read more

Stopped here for breakfast this am. Small menu with healthier type options. My daughter had a quinoa porridge which was topped with fresh berries. It was like oatmeal. She said it was very good. I had the combo meal which had two eggs (supposed to be over easy but pretty much over hard) 3 strips of bacon and avocado toast which was quite yummy. I'd definitely get the avocado toast again, not so much for the eggs. We also ordered a home made biscuit which was buttery, flaky and very good. I'd come back and try the breakfast burrito and lemon ricotta pancakes which both sound good and I'd also like to try out their lunch menu. Cute, clean place. read more

I was born and raised in Chicago, so I know a good Italian beef sandwich when I taste one. Cubby's knows how to do it. The Italian sausage is divine, and the house giardiniera is die for. The one gripe I have is in regards to the décor. A place like Cubby's, boasting Chicago-style foods, should represent some other form of the city or another in the restaurant. Whether it's homage to millennium park (maybe the famous bean?), Navy Pier (the Ferris wheel), the architecture (think Sears Tower), or any of the city's numerous sports teams, there was nothing to add to the authenticity of the restaurant other than the delicious food. read more

I've been to Cubby's a few times now. I just have to say, THEIR AVOCADO TOAST. It's enough to make me forgo buying a house.. But I digress. I had the breakfast burrito as well as the French Toast. Both breakfasts are creative, and tasted wonderful. Which is somewhat of a conundrum. Most chains, as they grow, lose their quality in a effort to make everything the same. This food was just good. I'd recommend Cubbys, and plan on trying again when I'm near one. I called in an order at 4:30pm to pick up at 5:15pm and I was actually late, almost 5:30 , and they didnt start making the food until I showed up to get it. I'm honestly disappointed and got a refund and walked out. Not the first time I waited awhile there (the reason I called in advance) and I cant justify going there again. read more

This place has turned into a real toilet. The food (what somehow remains on their menu after everything else was seemingly axed) sucks so much. They hand out water cups as soda cups to children and guess what: Every single one crumpled and spilled all over the place when my kids attempted to put a lid on their drinks. My wife's salad came out and I'm pretty sure she's going to have food poisoning tomorrow. Toilet is covered in pee and poo splatters. Food stains (way up high) on the wall. Kind of a trendy place for millennial kind of folks. I had their "pike" sandwich, which was about 4" square. It wasn't too bad, but the chicken was smashed thinner than a Wendy's quarter pounder. The flavor was alright, but I left about as hungry as I came in. My wife had the lemon chicken salad, which had tasty chicken, but the rest of the salad was a bit dry. She finished it, but her last bite was followed by, "I i can make a better salad." The highlight was they offered red cream soda. If you're hungry, get a side. I'll try it one more time to try a burger, but it's a solid mediocre for a sandwich shop. Firehouse or potbelly make a better sandwich. read more

You know the old saying, "never judge a book by its cover." The same holds true for signage, too. Having driven by at night a few times, their lighted logo glaring out like something from the 50's, I thought, "that looks like a retro food joint". And figured I'd have to give it a try. Stopped by this afternoon with my wife for lunch. Oh how wrong initial impressions could be! Wanna be young yuppies with their "gluten free" Satan spawn... I'd be hard pressed to bet any truly had celiac disease, just love the latest health conscious "buzz words"... Their "back story" on the wall is large portions and healthy... Portion sizes were good, but the food is anything but healthy (unless Burger King and McDonald's are healthy, too). I had the Gypsy burger, my wife had the Cockadoodledoo. Both were very delicious, and ohh so greasy (er, I mean "healthy"). The hamburger patty was a bit undercooked. The chicken was perfect. My wife added avocado (in addition to the avocado spread already included). The rosemary on the fries was not my cup of tea. Maybe that's what made them "healthy", I have no idea. I would have preferred plain ol' fries. The chipotle fry sauce was good, and a pleasant upgrade to that uniquely Utah condiment. The décor of the place was not pleasant in the least. If you've seen semi-trucks hauling livestock trailers, you're familiar with the snouts of bovine sticking through the round holes in the sides of the trailer. The dividing walls used to decorate/separate tables gave me that eerie and creepy feeling that we were the ones inside the trailer, on our way to meet our fate at the slaughterhouse. Timing is everything. We went here early on a Friday night and by the time we got to the register there was a line to the door and beyond! My hubby got the Tri Tip Steak Sandwich and I got the Tri Tip Steak Salad and we shared an apple cobbler! Really it was great! The salad had alot of flavor and the meat just melts in your mouth! The food at this place is slightly above average at best. I do love that they have a pretty wide selection of healthy foods to choose from, including a black bean quinoa side salad that was very good. They hire high school age cashiers who took our order and looked genuinely uninterested, we had to repeat our order several times and it still came out wrong. And then we had to wait almost 20 minutes to get our food. Once we got our food the buffalo blue cheese fries were cold because they use blue cheese salad dressing instead of actual blue cheese. The average sports bar does better than that. It all was just a little disappointing after reading such great reviews. A great menu and idea, poor execution. read more

Each time we come here the service seems to decline. They have ample workers but none seem to be actually making food or servicing the customers. When you do interact with the staff smiling seems like a foreign concept as you seem to be a bother to their existence. Once the food finally arrives it is tasty enough. I ordered a T-Rex thinking it's going to be a massive burger and they brought out a kids meal. Lol... Cubby's has a modern, vegan, millennial feel. I wasn't impressed with the peanut butter ice cream pie, but maybe their bread pudding is a better dessert option? I would visit this place again, only to explore other menu options. read more

A great place to eat, but not my favorite in the world. I got a bacon cheeseburger, and it was better than I initially thought it would be. The bacon was thick, not too thick, and just crispy enough. The patty wasn't as good as it could've been, however. After we got our food, we didn't get much attention from the waitress. I would recommend the burgers mostly. Overall, it was a good experience and I would go there again, but some things could be improved for an ideal eating experience. Update: They don't actually have waiters, just runners for the food. Sorry about the misconception. I would give 4.5 stars if I could. Since previous review I have been there again and it was great. First time here. Got a buffalo chicken salad with ranch instead of vinegarette. First impression was good when I walked in. It was busy. The help looked like all teenagers and when I got to the register the girl was nothing but rude. Clearly to many people on staff because half of them were messing around. My salad was whimpy especially for the price I paid. Hardly any lettuce and the dressing was maybe 1/4 full when I opened it. LOVE Cubby's! So glad they moved into SoJo. My favorites are their salads (Wild Rice & Kale, Apple Pecan Chicken & Citrus Kale) but I bet their sandwiches will impress too. I woke up the other day after dreaming about sweet potato fries. These were not just any sweet potato fries. They were Cubby sweet potato fries. I am dreaming about Cubby sweet potato fries. I would call Cubby's an Upscale Faster Food joint. I think most of the foods are made to order. They have some salads that require being made ahead of time. I have not had anything here I haven't liked. Apparently, I really like the sweet potato fries. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is clean and tidy. Bathrooms are well attended. I knocked it down a small star because the booth seating is not uber conducive to larger guests and there is sometimes a wait for orders (not all of the food comes out at once. I have had to tell my dining companions to start eating before it gets cold, and not to wait for me to get mine.) And the sweet potato fries are yumtastic. read more

Just okay, don't get the hype. Went in, was greeted well, and was sad to see the management treat their employees poorly (they have an open concept kitchen and the walls had a ton of petty rules posted on it). I don't know any of the employees over there (I came from out of state) but when I can tell that management doesn't treat their workers well it's a big red flag. And it was well evident. My fries were mixed in with other items and the workers were kinda just clueless (I mean, I would be too). Portions were okay, not really work the price. This place was fast, efficient, and the food was surprisingly good--a perfect example of "fast casual" done well. They're a bit pricier than your average sandwich shop, but the higher quality food is really worth it in my mind. And don't overlook the salads! Stopped in at Cubby's for a night out. Party of 6. Waited 25 minutes after ordering and still no food. Watched multiple orders after us in line get their food. Went up to ask what was up? They said because our order was a large order it takes longer. Worst service ever!!! When food finally came half the fries weren't included with the order. Service has gone way down hill. read more

It's sad to see another local place decline so steadily! I remember when it first opened how great it was and consistent the food was. We loved the tri tip salad the last couple times we have given this place a chance the salad was not fresh you could tell they were pre making the salads and adding the meat when they served it. The salad was wilted and soggy! The food took forever we ordered and it took 25 mins to get it. The sweet potato fries were burnt and cold. they use to be our favorite menu item. We have seen this happen so many times with local restaurants they have amazing food at the beginning, then as time passes there is a steady decline in food quality as they try and cut corners. The corner cutting ultimately will cause a loss in customers. Hope it can turn around but I don't want to keep taking a gamble with cubbies and see if it's good. read more

The tri tip sandwiches are good. Their rosemary fries are usually cold. Bit pricey but good. Went back to give it another chance. The sandwiches are still very good and the fries were fresh and hot. My wife and I visit Cubby's once a week on average. Love the Draper location. First time and last time to the South Jordan location though. Ordered ourselves two breakfast burritos and an order of avocado toast. There was only one other couple in the restaurant but they got their food shortly after we ordered. We waited at least 20 minutes for the burritos to come out but no sign of the avocado toast. I went up to the counter to inquire about it and the girl turned around, saw them and took him off the warming counter. She handed them to me in the plate wasn't warm. I took them back to the table for my wife and I, took one bite and realized it was just avocado bread, not toasted at all (cold and not toasted). I took them back up front to the counter and told her that it was cold and not toasted, to which she replied "so do you want me to make you new ones?" We finished our burritos by the time the toast showed up. The young man set them on the table, said "here you go" and snatched up our number. Burritos: +4. 2nd round of toast: 4. Customer service: 1. Two words: French Fries! Whether the Rosemary or Buffalo you really can't go wrong. We have ordered takeout 3 times and the fries have yet to disappoint. Generous portion, not overly greasy, crispy and crunchy potato goodness! I've tried the Dragonslayer and Houdini burger - both delicious. Toppings are super fresh and the sauces are spot on. I got the tri tip steak salad and it was really good! I didn't really care for the dressing..so I'm glad I got it on the side it was just too zesty/citrus for my taste. But I loved it. The wait wasn't that long either. read more
