Party favor box! (This was the one I was able to save for my daughter from her party...)
    Kim S.

I ordered 60 assorted varieties of Cubcakes for my daughter's 2nd birthday party as party favors (pre stay at home order). Nut free child? No problem! Dairy free or gluten free? No problems finding a Cubcake for that child too. Angelina put each one in a box and they were a big hit! Thank goodness I ordered more than I needed because there were children that immediately ate one and asked for more (hand symbols and all). I recently got another 12 last week of the assorted variety and we had 3 left by the end of the day between me, my husband and daughter. Super easy to order and she delivers them (mask and all) right to your door so no person to person contact either! Thank you again, Angelina! You'll be hearing from us soon!

    Delicious Lactation cookies

Omg I was just gifted some Cubcake lactation cookies and they were so delicious. A nice mix of soft and crunchy it was the perfect fresh baked treat for this breastfeeding mama. Highly recommend for a postpartum gift or just something sweet when you're breastfeeding and having crazy carb cravings like I am.

    Brownies and assorted Cubcakes!

Yum yum yum!!! These cupcakes and brownies are amazing! I got both for my 18 month old and he loved them! The brownies are a great healthy treat, it's hard to tell they are healthy! The muffins are also a great snack, and they freeze well too! Definitely recommend!

    A selection of delectable Cubcakes!

The staff were so friendly and worked efficiently. We tried the cinnamon roll (OMG) the almond croissant, the blueberry scone, the pain au chocolat, banana bread, and a savory jambon Gruyère pastry (sooo good). There are literally no bad choices. The bakery is warm and welcoming, and the aroma of baked goods hits you before you even get in the door. The space is tight but they move people in and out quickly. There was a great selection of pastries, cookies and breads. Next time I will need to try their bread - the loaves were like works of art! I'll be thinking about that cinnamon roll the whole flight home!

Just walk in, skip the line and pay for your pre-order and done. I enjoy this experience immensely. There were 3 households worth of treats split between 4 boxes. The regular croissants are delicious. You get a small hit of French butter, but it also feels like there's been a slight fermentation of the dough itself. I feel like they bake the croissants just a touch longer to caramelize. The flavor of this croissant is complex. You can taste the effort that goes into it. The 4 I got for my household disappeared instantly. The Kouign Amman is currently being filled with a peach jam. Run for it. It was the one thing that was still warm when we picked up and it was amazing. Delicious and warm caramelized pastry with a generous dollop of also warm peach jam. It's the best KA I've had...ever. The scones are big enough for 3-4 people to share. If you try to polish the Boursin by yourself, you'll not need lunch and you'll only need a small salad for dinner. If you made a breakfast sandwich with this scone, it would be a great decadent meal. The blueberry was also a winner. The cinnamon rolls received high marks in my house. Rewarmed in the toaster oven or the microwave (the toaster oven was better), they disappeared and are now the house preferred cinnamon roll. It's like a croissant and a perfect cinnamon roll had a baby. The added bonus is that the sum of its parts is balanced and not too sweet. Makes it easier to finish a whole in one sitting...the chowpups know how to eat. Loved the pistachio lemon croissant. Fantastic. No notes. Want something different? The Farmer's Market danish is the laminated pastry filled with Weiser potatoes, onions, cheese and herbs. So good. Not pictured: pain au chocolat, almond croissant, banana bread...these all went to my parents. Word is that their box was empty in about 36 hours. Petitgrain is a gem. Y'all on the Westwide are lucky to have it. I'd definitely come here more often if the level of effort was low. Props to the team here for having our entire order ready and just being so lovely.

So I did. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Restroom: Didn't see a restroom. :) Wait Time: Can be long. Luckily, I didn't wait long when I patronized the shop. Location/Parking: Located in a plaza on the NW corner of Sawtelle Blvd. and W. Olympic. There's a couple of shared 15 minute parking spots in the parking lot, paid parking structure, or meter parking along Olympic, Sawtelle, or surrounding streets. I did find a secret place with free 2 hour parking on the NE corner of Purdue Ave. and Olympic Blvd.. :) Ambiance/Decor: Neat ambiance with a few modern furnishings to sit, eat, and enjoy ones company. Service: Service was great! Tera (staffer) was very nice, attentive, offered great suggestions, and was quite informative about the shop. She also informed me that I was able to get two complimentary macarons. Patisserie Of Choice: 1) Blossom: Consisted of vanilla mousse, pistachio/red berries insert, pistachio crunch, and pistachio sponge. It was too pretty to eat, but I ate it anyways. So good and soo yum! 2) Roche: Consisted of hazelnut mousse, house made praline combined with soft caramel, hazelnut sponge. Taste like a Ferrer Rocher! It's very dense and sweet, but great to eat. Not something I'll have all the time. Macarons Of Choice : I got the Cookies and Cream and pistacio. They were both good. Artelice Patisserie For Thought: Wouldn't mind coming back. I ordered the Café de Olla Horchata, and it was absolutely spectacular. The drink had this rich, comforting warmth from the coffee, balanced perfectly with the creamy, cinnamon-forward sweetness of the horchata. It wasn't overly sugary or artificial tasting. Overall, the coffee was outstanding, and the Café de Olla Horchata alone is worth the visit. It's the kind of drink you keep thinking about long after you've finished it. We were delighted with the box of cookies and tarts that they brought from Paderia in Santa Monica. The chocolate chip walnut cookies were fat and soft with a slightly crisp exterior. The thickness of them allowed a plethora of rich chips to reside inside. I'm not a fan of chunks of nuts in cookies but these were chopped in tiny pieces, so did not take away from the overall soft texture. The soft peanut butter chocolate cookie was also a huge fattie with peanut butter chips within the chocolate cookie. Both were enhanced with a quick warm-up. I loved both of these cookies and think the chocolate chip is the very best you'll ever find. We also had Portuguese egg tarts. The pastel de nata (if I recall, this is what they are called) I ate was small but good, but I have had others that were more to my liking, with a sweeter custard and a more caramelized top, which I guess is a personal preference. Not to say it wasn't delicious - it was! I love the cookies so much I'll be checking out their Irvine location soon, which is much closer to me.

I have meetings here, casual lunches, meet-ups of one sort or another. It pains me to give it only one star in terms of service. This is the 3rd time I've experienced being overlooked standing in line to order, by the same wait person - a young man, bright smile, animated personality. The 3rd time, unfortunately, is the charm and I will have to give Jyan Issac a pass! Each instance has involved, first, simply not being seen (i.e., invisible) standing in line. In this recent moment, I'm in line wearing an orange hat, red sunglasses, an orange tee shirt and at least 3 inches taller than woman standing behind me! I am a black woman. The young man and the woman know each other, start a friendly conversation and then he proceeds to take her order. When he finally recognizes he'd skipped over me, he stops and takes my order. He struggles when it comes to even listening to my order. I always have to repeat myself and still, often unsuccessful. I say, "to go" and it comes out plated to eat in. I say, "not toasted" and he has to ask again. Same guy. Same story. He always apologizes profusely and gives me a free pastry to compensate. I've gotten 3 free pastries, same reason, same person. These kinds of consistent occurrences would spark a more animated response from some folks, justifiably. However "nice" this server is, he also seems unable to see me in front of him. I do intend to share this pattern of customer service with my multicultural circle of friends and colleagues, who also love this place.

Chef Yang Soon began developing the reimagined classic Helms Bakery twelve years ago but could not have anticipated the huge changes that were to hit the dining landscape with the Covid pandemic. The decline of going out / dining out, changes in spending habits and the rise of delivery services made this Art Deco styled concept bakery financially unsustainable. Helms has a fascinating history. In 1932 their bread, Olympic Bread, was declared the official bread of the Olympic Games. This led to worldwide recognition. Delivery wagons, or coaches, brought bread, doughnuts and other baked goods to Angelenos' homes with their slogan, "Daily at Your Door." Helms was the bread that astronauts in Apollo 11 took to the moon. World Famous.
