Thankfully I found a meter across the street to park at. When I arrived, the employee enthusiastically greeted me and had such a great bubbly energy. The store itself was fun and vibrant. She was very helpful in finding my item, which had been placed in the back of the store. She brought it out and it was clearly labeled on the box that it was the vegan red velvet, so I could be assured it was indeed mine. When I got home, I ate the cupcake. It was so rich and indulgent and they do such an amazing job creating a soft delectable cake with a smooth and creamy cheesecake frosting. The frosting is the perfect balance of sweet with just a little bit of tartness. I stopped by Ina Bakes for their pop-up in Venice Beach California, and it was such a great experience. You can immediately tell they put a lot of care into what they make. Everything is made with all natural ingredients, and it really shows in the flavor and quality. The setup had a full spring theme, which felt perfect with Mother's Day coming up. The display was colorful and inviting, with an assortment of pastries, cakes, tarts, cupcakes, macaroons, and even savory empanadas. I also loved seeing the fresh blueberries and seasonal touches throughout. I tried a mix of items, and everything tasted fresh, light, and not overly sweet. The pastries were flaky, the desserts had great texture, and nothing felt heavy or artificial. You can taste the difference when ingredients are clean and thoughtfully sourced. What makes this place stand out is that they do limited pop-ups around holidays, so it feels a little more special and unique compared to a typical bakery. It's a great spot to pick up something for an event, bring home to family, or surprise someone for Mother's Day. They even had a subtle Cinco de Mayo vibe mixed in, which was a fun touch.
