I can't get these boxes by going by supermarkets, I need real boxes that have never been used. It's not me, it's my stuff - none of my things like to be anywhere where food, livestock or various sundries have been first. I have ordered from U-line in the past, but their shipping is outrageous, almost as much as the whole order. I did a little Google search and found suppliesformoving.com. At the time of the order, I had no idea they were in Brooklyn. The site is clean and all the information is readily accessible. One can guarantee that this website did not cost a lot of money, but it works. One of the best things about this company is that they have pre-prepared packages of boxes, tape, etc. divided by room and/or rooms which makes it a little easier. They have boxes for junk, boxes for tvs, boxes for lamps - are you following me here? They have supplies for moving - tape, blankets, plastic wrap, paper. So I go online and make my order (FREE shipping by the way on everything!) and expect it to come in a couple days according to the site. After the confirmation of sale is where it gets good. 30 minutes pass and I get a call from the company saying they can deliver today, the same day, in the late afternoon. OK. One hour later I get another call that they can deliver right now. Yes please. Approximately three hours after I ordered many, many boxes, they arrived in perfect shape. Having no idea this company was in Brooklyn, I guess I should consider myself lucky. The customer service was fantastic and the boxes have been working just fine. If you want quick, efficient service and if you want to get your supplies to pack and move in an instant, go to suppliesformoving.com.* ________________________ * If all of the bottoms of the boxes break while moving, damaging all of my kids' toys and my valuable possessions, I reserve the right to come back and be extremely agitated.

This isn't a review about bait and switch pricing (it happened). All movers do the same (6th move…read morein 10 years). This is about false advertisement and lying. Their sales team will message you with articles explaining why you should hire them and not other companies: they handle the move themselves and do not contract out unlike the movers in the articles listed (screenshot of the text message attached). They pickup, they transport coast to coast and they unload. They even will check the DOT website of competitors to show you how many more miles they carry as a proof. They advertise themselves as movers, but act as brokers and did not disclose it. I would have went somewhere else. At pickup, a different carrier (Starbright Vanlines) came. The crew was professional and efficient. Nothing to note there, except again, it was not Top Rated that did the work. Oh well they will do the transport at least? Right?! A week later, on a Monday, I called to check on a timeline for the transport. The transport was set for Thursday. The following Monday I was given 2 phone numbers for the driver, both wrong. Weird, you would think they know their driver's phone number. So it was indeed not their driver. When confronted, the dispatcher Tina kept saying: "He is our driver, he only has our stuff, we pay him". More lying. Then Tuesday I was given the phone number of the driver's dispatcher. The man (Salam Trade World LLC aka Bravo Moving, yet another company) was rude and told me that nothing was leaving before Friday and to deal with it. "They wanted your stuff out of their warehouse. He called back the next day to tell me that the truck was actually in Las Vegas and that I should expect delivery Saturday or Sunday. On Friday night the driver called after 11pm to tell us our delivery will be the next day. Saturday, the driver called back to say that his back hurts, the truck has a flat tire, he needs to find a smaller truck, and he needs to find a moving crew. At that point, I called back Top Rated yet again to try to get an answer. 15min later, the contracted moving company contacted me to confirm delivery Sunday. I had a bad feeling so I got a camera with continuous recording and set it up pointing at the entrance. Sunday at 3:30 PM the driver arrived with 3 random people he found on craigslist to unload while he sat on his phone. They were clearly not happy to be there, had no idea what to do (they were surprised that boxes need to be unloaded in the house and not the garage). With a few exceptions, almost every box was crushed. Wardrobe boxes were re-taped and missing the crossbar. The majority of the furniture wrapped by the movers had significant damage. But the best part was the very heavy table top. The last item to move, with no proper moving gear. As they entered the house, they dropped the table top nearly injuring one of the workers (he was going to quit on the spot) and damaging the front door of the rental (got it on video) as well as the table. They then packed as fast as they can leaving some items unassembled because one of the crew "had a flight to catch". They left walls and stairs damaged as well. We also ended up with boxes that do not belong to us, full of personal and precious items (child ultrasounds, wedding pictures). When mentioned to Top Rated, they completely ignored me. I have been trying to contact the original owners. If you call the Claim's company and give their name, they have been dropped in June. You have to file under the the name of the company that picked up. Again, something we know happens with brokers, but we were told we are hiring movers. Long story short, I was promised a local moving company that handles everything end to end, instead they did NOTHING, lied, damaged our items, and treated us like garbage.

(tldr: lack of communication, damaged boxes and furniture upon arrival, poor quality of service) In the beginning, Jeff was very attentive and made us feel like "Yes! This is the quality of service we're looking for in a company!" and the quoted price was great. He told us everything we needed to know about our move and we were excited to move forward. (Disclaimer: Low price is because they have other moves on the same truck as yours. We figured it wouldn't be a problem... it was.) But once we had our stuff loaded on to the truck, that's when it went all downhill. First things first, the pick-up movers told us how much we should be tipping them (they said they wanted 20%), which was extremely unprofessional. I don't mind if they had just mentioned that tips are appreciated, but to have the balls to flat out tell me you want 20%? Really? I didn't hear from Jeff for about a week after our initial pick-up, and when he did respond, all he could tell me was that our stuff was still waiting to be put onto the truck and our 6 day delivery window remained the same. He told me he would update with information when he had some. I asked him if it was possible to get a tighter delivery window once the truck was in transit and he informed me that once we got closer to the delivery window he'd have a better estimate of when our stuff should be arriving. (At this point, we were 9 days from the first day of our delivery window and 7 days since pick-up.) Another week goes by without any correspondence from Jeff. I'm starting to get a little anxious because it's 2 days from the first day of our delivery window and we have no idea where our stuff is. So I contact him again asking if he had an update. The first day of the delivery window is pushed back a day. Still very vague. I ask again if he could provided a tighter delivery window since we're working people and need to make arrangements to receive this move if it does come on a work day. He said he'll try his best. So now it's the first day of the delivery window! Hurray! But silence on Jeff's end. At this point, we figured he'd have some sort of idea where the truck is and have an idea of when the truck should be arriving to us. I email Jeff and no response. I get that it's a Saturday, but if client is paying thousands of dollars to use your services, just a quick acknowledgement would be appreciated. We get a call later that day from the driver saying he's in the area and will delivery the following day or the next, depending on the other deliveries. Okay, great! But why wasn't Jeff able to provide that information to us? The driver told us that they're not actually a part of Movage and they're hired to do jobs within Movage (which was one of the first questions I asked because I wanted to make sure that the move wasn't being contracted out to third parties), so the drivers themselves weren't even in touch with Movage at all. And then our stuff finally arrives... boxes were damaged, wet, opened, our couch was soaked on one side... I'll let the pictures do the talking. The response we get after we express our extreme disappointment is just a very textbook: "I apologize for any inconvenience. This is not the typical feed back we receive from our customers. I will help you as much as possible as I have tried to do from the first time we spoke. I will attach a claims form to this email. Please fill it out at your earliest convenience so we can start a claim process for you. Thank you." If you're looking to do a long distance move, go with Mayflower. We deeply regret not choosing to go with them in the first place.

I want to post an update to my prior review…read more As bad as the moving experience was, Piece of Cake Movers completely changed my view when it came time to address the issues I raised afterward. Emily handled my concerns with professionalism, fairness, and real diligence. She could not have been nicer. She listened, took the issues seriously, and worked through them in a way that felt fair and respectful. My original concerns about the move itself remain what they were. But I also recognize that any business of this size can occasionally have a bad crew or a bad experience in the field. What matters is how the company responds when that happens. Here, the response after the move was excellent. Credit is due where credit is due: the post-move customer service, especially from Emily, was outstanding. For that reason, I am giving the company 5 stars for how it handled the aftermath and resolved the issues. I will use them the next time I move. Emily was that good. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thank you, Emily.

I was leaving a large multi level condo in DC, and taking (most of) that furniture to New York. As the day began, I thought - there is no way it's all going to happen today. Even my closets alone would surely take a day. but again - I was wrong. It was a seamless move - worth every penny - in the past I've felt incredible stress on these days, but today I felt more like the wrench in the well oiled machine. Which is awkward but better than stress. 10/10 recommend - the level of care and expedience exceeded my expectations. Ivan and the crew were kind and tidy.
