Our meal was mediocre. My wife ordered rigatoni and substituted spinach and broccoli for the sausage and meatballs The sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. But what was worse they charged us $2.00 for each of the vegetables, and when I complained they took off only 1. My veal Marsala was tough. They did not serve us any bread either. It is obvious that the new ownership is cutting corners. We won't go back again. They also tacked on that annoying living wage surcharge that I had them remove. If they can't afford to pay their employees a living wage, why should we. So many restaurants here in Denver add that despite having raised their prices, and I'm tired of it. We were looking for the best pizza in Cherry Creek and this restaurant came up so we gave it a try. The pizza is far away from being authentic Italian and selection is very limited. Others in our party had the daily pasta recommendation and the Masala meet dish, which both were also just okay. The table we had was in a dark spot all the way in the back and I am just not the kind of person who likes to be greeted by a hostess that has super long plastic nails and wears a crop top in this kind of restaurant environment, fashion or not. What they want to be or pretend to be and what they are in reality is far from each other. Our waitress though was sweet and nice. Service over all was great. I feel like the glam times of this place are over with and the food needs a little more TLC and authenticity. And please, do not over ice an Aperol Spritz! read more

My experience was probably the result of an off night-but the combination of lackluster pasta and extremely erratic service lead me to this rating. The veal piccata was superb - I could have licked the bowl clean. The penne with sausage and broccoli was boring and the pasta no better than a box from the local grocery store. The real kicker was the crazy unpredictable service - by the end it was almost comical. One server asked us for our drink order - another one came and introduced himself as our server. When we told him we already ordered with another person he seemed irritated. The original server came back and couldn't remember what we ordered. This kept happening all meal long - she kept coming by several minutes after we ordered and asking us to remind her of what we said. We asked for extra plates. They never came (until we flagged down another staff member to bring them). She promised Parmesan and crushed red pepper - it never came. When she brought us our bills to sign - she literally gave one of us a pen and the other an empty pen cap. After we signed she apologized that maybe she gave us the wrong check. If I could rate 5 stars on the service alone, I would. Our server was amazing. She was super nice, gave us all the sides we asked for. (I came with my parents and they can be very demanding) and she was amazing. The foam on my latte was amazing and that was just the start of her incredible service. I wish I remember her name. I hope this review gets back to her. There were 3 of us sitting in the furthest corner of the patio. You were incredible. Now. The food. I have some thoughts. We came for lunch and got the italiano sandwich, and the orzo and arugula salad. My parents seemed to really enjoy their sandwich and orzo salad, however the arugula salad left much to be desired. The salad itself was really dry with only the truffle butter and olive oil, I had to ask for another side of lemon vinaigrette which made it more palatable. It was so dry at first bite. The best way I've enjoyed the salad itself was several hours later after the arugula had broke down and added my own balsamic glaze and cooked white rice. Very mid in terms of salad. So overall, based on what I personally ate and the service itself, Service: 15/10 Food 6/10 Service: Girl, if you see this you know who you are. Thank you for making today so enjoyable. You are kind, friendly, enjoyable, and make a d*mn good latte foam. (I didn't check before I left but I hope my parents tipped okay) To the chefs: I know it's not your fault at all. This was a disappointing experience. I ordered a margherita pizza, and the crust was gummy, the sauce was bland, and there were exactly 3 basil leaves. One of my friends ordered a pasta dish which was also disappointing, The service was so slow that we had to chase our waiter down so we could order. The bill was over $200 for 3 entrees, 3 drinks and 1 dessert, which was a travesty for the quality of food and service. I'll never go back. read more

We love going to Cucina Colore just for the divine bread pudding with caramel sauce. On this particular visit, the bread pudding part of the dessert was a little too cold. We dined with a party of 11 and the service was outstanding on a busy Friday night (bonus !). Our drinks were always full and prompt. We ordered apps for the table: bruschetta and the tuna crudo. Skip the bruschetta, it is only slightly average. But the tuna crudo was beautiful, crisp and an unusual presentation with avocado, scallions, capers, chives, lemon, sea salt and olive oil. I ordered the penne with Italian sausage, broccolini, garlic, jalapeño, plum tomatoes and chili flake. The broccolini was perfectly tender and provided a crisp bite to the pasta smoothness. When the owner of your company invites you to a new restaurant to join them for lunch, you jump! I certainly did when she mentioned going to Cucina Colore. I had heard many great things, but have never tried it before. We arrived and were seated immediately. The server went over the specials for the day and one caught my attention. Angel hair pasta with chicken, asparagus and sun dried tomatoes. My boss ended up getting the same thing as well. The bread arrived and was perfect. I am not usually a huge bread fan. I feel that all it is is filler for the flavored food to arrive. I decided to try some and it was a little hard on the outside, but soft and moist on the inside. This is how I like my bread. I ate about half the basket. Whoops! I should have shared. All was good when the server brought out another basket. The food was brought out steamy hot and looked absolutely amazing. Amazing isn't a good enough word. It was so inviting, and delicate looking. My first bite was mouth watering. The chicken fell apart, it was so tender. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the flavors of the cream sauce, asparagus and tomatoes brought everything together into this perfect dish. I could eat this everyday if it was available. Great dish! Super friendly staff, and of course the decor was beautiful. I will be back! Hopefully to get more of this dish. read more

I went here for my birthday dinner. It was super easy to make a reservation, even for a large party. The servers were very nice and accommodating. The food was delicious. I love the bread here. With the olive oil, it is amazing. For my main course, I had the conchigle pasta. It is my favorite thing on the menu. For dessert, we ordered tiramisu for the table. Not a big deal, but I ordered Cream of Mushroom soup, the soup of the day, and there was nothing creamy about it. It watery and bland. This is just such a lovely little restaurant in an adorable Cherry Creek neighborhood. I let a friend here for happy hour, which runs 4-6pm. They have reasonably priced drinks and some good food for reasonable prices. We started sitting on their patio, which is just lovely with planters everywhere. We had wine and a local beer on tap, along with their Brussels, minus the pancetta. My friend started getting chilly, so we moved in to the bar area and split the margherita pizza, which was delicious. Then we split the Caprese salad, also exceptional. The service was really spot on. This restaurant has a lunch, dinner and happy hour menu. Take out is available. The patio is lovely and this restaurant is appropriate for groups or an intimate dining experience. The neighborhood is perfect for a walk after dinner. read more

I've spent over 3k here and come here a lot & was shocked that I overheard this from their own GM. Won't come here again. I ate there Saturday night and all I had was a pizza margarita with a little extra cheese and an espresso a little later and I got food poisoning that knocked me for a serious loop (won't go into that disgusting details) and put me out of commission until today. I was perfectly fine before that evening's meal and had nothing afterwards, so sad to say, it had to be something that was on my pizza.
