We made reservation at 4:45pm for 8 of us as we had movie reservations at 6:15pm. We were seated promptly. The waitress took our drink and dinner orders quickly. It took the kitchen over an hour to get our food on the table! Once delivered we had to eat so quickly as we needed to leave for the movie. I decided to have appetizers for dinner and asked the two come when everyone was served with dinner. Well she brought out the bruschetta along with everyone's appetizers. I just took them. These were the smallest pieces of bread that I've ever seen. The tomatoes tasted a bit old and bland. That goodness they had balsamic vinegar on the table. 45 minutes later after 2 inquiries about where our food was we were served. My 2nd appetizer was served. Gorgonzola stuffed mushrooms. If I hadn't been so hungry I would have sent these back. No way was that Gorgonzola cheese! So bland, no flavor. My husband's bolognese was so watery and unappealing. Today I drove up to my heretofore favorite Italian restaurant in Carson City, only to find that it had closed, pending a relocation to another part of town. Disappointed I checked Yelp for an another option and found Ti Amo. This restaurant, tucked away in Casino Fandango is a marvelous surprise in pretty much every aspect. Pre meal bread was generous, and came with an uncommon bowl of whole garlic in oil to spread on the bread. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of the restaurant and its decor is elegant, especially for a casino[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the service was outstanding. Ray wanted eggplant parm and suggested Olive Garden. I hate Olive Garden, too "chain restaurant" for my tastes. So, I looked at trusty Yelp and found the other locations for eggplant parm. Looked at menus and, knowing those places, chose what I thought would be the best eggplant for the money. I've never figured out why Italian restaurants need to charge SO much for pasta and veggies! Anyway, this was the first time I've gone to Ti Amo for the Italian food! I am impressed! Ray got his eggplant Parmesan and I had manicotti. Both were excellent! Looked pretty, tasted great! The real winner though is the garlic, olives and bread before the meal! It's just that added touch that puts a place over the top! And...Rays meal came with salad, he doesn't eat as much lettuce as I do so I was going to eat it for him. We asked for the dressing on the side as he wanted one thing and I wanted the other. Guess we confused the kitchen with the request. The Chef made two salads and they had the dressing on them. Our server apologized for not getting the dressing on the side and the confusion making two, offered to have remade or we could have them both. I'm not one to waste (don't even get me started in food and cruises) we accepted both. But get this!!! They were perfectly dressed! Not too much dressing! And they were so good! I now know I can order a salad here without the massive dressing and that Grace, our server, is a wonderful employee. She was very attentive but not in our faces. The meatloaf was tasty but sent me running to the bathroom after eating it. The piccata was okay but nothing authentic tasting about the sauce. The salmon salad was better but the greens were not fresh and sole was just plain terrible with "risotto" style pasta that resembled mac and cheese more than risotto. All of the above had enough salt added to keep US 50 clear in the winter months. My mouth was stinging with sodium for an hour after eating every time. So that's it for us until they overhaul their recipes and/or the kitchen crew. read more

My views have not changed on this restaurant inside Fandango's casino in Carson City. The linguine & clams is still the go to order for me. They absolutely have this pasta dish nailed the way I like it. They make it in a cream sauce instead of a oil form some other Italian restaurants serve it. The interior is very spacious and comfortable for dining. The staff that I have had here on all the occasions I have visited were always attentive but not overbearing, very efficient and knowledgeable about the menu items. I would probably gain some serious extra gravity pull if I kept coming here to dine, I do love this restaurant. read more

I only eat at this restaurant 3 Times a year and it has always been great food. We had a party of 8 and got there at 5. We didn't get served for an hour and 15mins. I had a tiny side salad and minestrone soup. The minestrone had no flavor just boiled vegetables in tomato juice. My husband's lasagna was swimming in water/ or tomato juice like sauce. Our friend's chicken picatta had hardly any sauce on it. Another said her bruschetta had no flavor added like basil or balsamic glaze. I can't remember what another said about his pasta but he would had sent it back if he wasn't so hungry. They forget his appetizer which was the horrible soup. I loved the blue cheese salad dressing. The unlimited supply of fresh baked bread with roasted garlic could not have been better. As my entree, I had the chicken parmesan. It was a little slow to come out, and I suspect it was sitting on the counter for a while. It was not exactly piping hot. But it tasted great. I had the tiramisu for dessert. I've had better tiramisu, but it was good. My main challenge with the tiramisu, it was inconsistently frozen. I would have rather it be like a ice cream delight or a completely room temperature delight, but stumbling into frozen bits and pieces was a little bit weird. But overall it tasted good. This would have been a five-star review were it not for the fact that you have to walk through a 1950s, smoke-filled casino to get to this restaurant. they do a decent job keeping the smoke smell down in the restaurant, but the fact remains, you are breathing toxic chemicals on your way to and from the restaurant, and you're breathing them in the restaurant, whether you know it or not. It's long past time Nevada step into the '80s with their smoking regulations. read more

Went in tonight for a birthday dinner, felt a bit uncomfortable being we originally had a reservation for six but we had one more person join us unexpectedly. For that reason we showed up 15 minutes early to let them know. The female manager in a pink sweater, was quite unhappy about it. Perhaps she thought she was out of ears reach, but she was not. We were embarrassed being if we heard her, then other customers and staff did too. The food didn't come out all together. Two in our party had to wait. Awkward to eat when others are still waiting. Was told the kitchen forgot. Our server Dream was so sweet but we noticed on the way to our cars that were were somehow charged a double tip. Nearly 35 bucks twice. Chalking this experience up as a loss. We will not be back. Which stinks, being we went often. Feel compelled to tell family and friends about this. An expensive lesson. Update two out of the seven person party. Got food poisoning from there soup of the day. This experience keeps getting worse. read more

We decided on the Seafood Lasagna and the traditional Lasagna and a shared Caesar salad. The salad was brought quickly. The lettuce was fresh, and the croutons were so good! The dressing was wonderful. The entrees arrived just as the salad was finished. The traditional lasagna was very good! Layers of noodles, sausage, meat and cheese...yum! The Seafood Lasagna was filled with Alfredo sauce, cheese and scallops, shrimp, lobster and ricotta cheese....a wonderful dish of goodness. Sadly, we had no room for dessert. I took someone for their birthday the end of December. She had the eggplant parmigiana and I had chicken piccata. The eggplant parmigiana wasn't bad but had a very small serving of vegetables. The chicken piccata was very disappointing. It was one small piece of chicken no more than 1/4" thick with very few vegetables. Definitely not worth $23. Is it a sign of the times or has this place taken a turn for the worse? Comparing this visit with our last (during pandemic) is like comparing night to day. The only part of our evening that went promptly was checking in and being seated. After that everything moved at a snail's pace. Not to mention the incredible disconnect between the waitress and us. Where'd she go? I'm sorry but a two hour dinner due to insufficiencies on the part of the restaurant is also unacceptable. Luckily, we had great company or we most likely would have walked out.
