    The wine was very good.

We've been coming here for dinner for 6 years. I always order the Calamari Steak. It was half the size it used to be to be. My husband had the Scallops. There were only four. It was disappointing. The food however was very good and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the service and atmosphere excellent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The prices have gone up significantly and the portions are less. You also use to get olives with the garlic & bread. Now if you want olives it cost $5.00. It's just to bad. We hate changes

Pleasant atmosphere and music. We enjoy the bread, garlic and olives very much.

Ray wanted eggplant parm and suggested Olive Garden. I hate Olive Garden, too "chain restaurant" for my tastes. So, I looked at trusty Yelp and found the other locations for eggplant parm. Looked at menus and, knowing those places, chose what I thought would be the best eggplant for the money. I've never figured out why Italian restaurants need to charge SO much for pasta and veggies! Anyway, this was the first time I've gone to Ti Amo for the Italian food! I am impressed! Ray got his eggplant Parmesan and I had manicotti. Both were excellent! Looked pretty, tasted great! The real winner though is the garlic, olives and bread before the meal! It's just that added touch that puts a place over the top! And...Rays meal came with salad, he doesn't eat as much lettuce as I do so I was going to eat it for him. We asked for the dressing on the side as he wanted one thing and I wanted the other. Guess we confused the kitchen with the request. The Chef made two salads and they had the dressing on them. Our server apologized for not getting the dressing on the side and the confusion making two, offered to have remade or we could have them both. I'm not one to waste (don't even get me started in food and cruises) we accepted both. But get this!!! They were perfectly dressed! Not too much dressing! And they were so good! I now know I can order a salad here without the massive dressing and that Grace, our server, is a wonderful employee. She was very attentive but not in our faces. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entire ambiance was beautiful and this sort of experience will have us coming back regularly![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience in this place is Mediterranean Italian style vibe![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We felt very relaxed and loved the service Landon provided us throughout our dinner! They serve you roasted garlic, marinated olives and bread while you're looking at the menu! We ordered chicken Parmesan, salmon with an eggplant compote, and steak! All the entrees came with a salad, Caesar salad with no up charge or minestrone soup! We loved everything. The only reason I'm giving this restaurant a four is because the salmon was a little dry without a sauce. I mentioned it and they provided me with a sauce to put on top. It was delicious ! The grand finale dessert Tiramisu was amazing! It's big enough to share as a family! The coffee rum sauce melted in our mouth along with ladyfingers and the mascarpone! We will be back on a special occasion or date night!

Enjoying the bread and taking a look at the menu.

The food here is so good! We eat here at least once a month. The pasta al forno is a favorite. The lasagna does not disappoint. The bread service and antipasto takes this place to next level. [[HIGHLIGHT]]High ceilings, dark ambience with real candlelight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sounds very expensive (it's not) it's very reasonable and a perplace for casual to formal[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] .

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Maybe...you just have to embrace the old school feel of this place...along with the old school prices...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were both game...sat in a beautiful and I do mean beautiful atmosphere..[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]our server came up and was delightful. I ordered a Sonoma Sauvignon blanc and hub just enjoyed some water. The huge pour I got of this amazing wine was 9 dollars....mind blown!! Bread came to the table with butter, olives and the olive oil and balsamic bottles. I ordered the scallops..I think they were 24 dollars and hub got the chicken piccata for 18. Big portions. This included a soup or salad, hub got soup and I got Caesar salad.. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food was delicious and the background music was so nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For dessert we got a chocolate pot de creme..it was good, but more thick than it should be..still tasted nice.. and it was pretty big so we shared it. Will very much be back..really enjoyed this place!!

Every meal at BV starts with complimentary house-made chips and dip. It's their flagship item and always delicious! My staple order is the grilled portabella veggie. It's so perfectly sauced with balsamic and smeared with goat cheese. Such a treat! You can get several sides, but their battered fries are always fantastic. My wife loves the chicken curry salad on the fresh croissant. It's hard to stay away from such a winning dish! I most recently had the turkey, pear, and brie sandwich. Holy cow! That thing was loaded and so scrumptiously good. The dinner menu is also excellent and has some special items that you can only get for dinner. Speaking of specials- they also have a daily special that always sounds great, though I haven't had any because the regular menu items are so good. The bistro itself is small but has plenty of seating. Some seating is inside the Carson Mall, and when the weather is fair, they also have some outdoor seating. They often have live music, too. The service has always been good here, both for dine-in and takeout. The timing for takeout has always been pretty accurate. I am always looking forward to another visit to Bella Vita!

My wife received a confirmation email and then an email saying our order was ready for pickup. She arrived at the restaurant, and the lady working said she had never gotten an order and hadn't started on it. So my wife waited for the food to be prepared and finally got it home. The food was good. The mac and cheese potato is really good. The mac and cheese was a star. The shepherd's pie was ok, but a little shy on the meat and needed some more seasoning. At least the portions are large, and you'll likely be able to split an order into two meals unless you're super hungry. The inside of this place is small and located inside the bowling alley building. Nothing special about the ambiance. Takeout is probably the way to go. This place should be 3 stars. However, I am going to cut a little slack and assume it was a one-off experience. So for this review, I am sticking with 4 stars. When I return, I hope the food is up to par, and the service improves. I would love to write a 5-star review for this small local business.

When I heard all the rave reviews of Bali Express in Carson, we had to try it. What started as a Food Truck, Bali Express has found a permanent home in a space shared with Fuego Street Tacos. An interesting set up but it works. There is a nice amount of seating and the two vendors seem to make it work. Nice. We ordered one of my wife's favorite dishes, Beef Rendang. Tender beef simmered for hours (and hours) in a thick, soy sauce based sauce. Done properly, it has rich flavors and in this case, just a touch of Sambal (Chili sauce). The flavors were authentic but the meat was not as tender as I would have hoped. It wasn't bad but a hallmark of Rendang perfection is the tenderness of the meat. While it was fine for me, unfortunately the heat was a bit too much for my wife, who ultimately could not eat the dish because it was too spicy. Indonesian cuisine is inherently spicy (when cooked properly), so buyer be ware. We also ordered Gado Gado. A very traditional Vegetable Salad kind of dish. Gado Gado is one of those dishes that can vary from the availability of vegetables, to regional differences to differences in recipes handed down from generation to generation. As such, while this was not the same as my "mom would make", it was pretty darn close. Based on shredded cabbage, there was a plentiful amount of tofu, potatoes (nice touch), seasoned hard boiled egg and other treats. The dish is topped with a peanut sauce. I would definitely order again but wished the sauce had a richer, more peanuty taste. This is a 100% a personal preference thing and not a criticism of the dish. The Gado Gado is great. We also tried the Shrimp Tempura. While not Indonesian, the Shrimp Tempura was well executed. Lightly breaded, the shrimp was fried to have a nice crispy snap to the coating but not at all greasy. The flavor was rich and light and served with a sweet sauce. Today, my parents have both passed so my opportunities for authentice Indonesian is pretty limited. Bali Express is the real deal. Authentic Indonesian Cuisine. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. Selamat Makan

So, my local friend wanted to take me to this Thai restaurant right down on the main street in downtown, if Carson has an actual downtown that is. We get seated at a nice table near the front. My friend already knows the menu, so I go with hos suggestion for the Lunch special Duck with sauce over rice. It's $22 bucks, so it better be good! The fry bread was delicious, but those jalapeño bombs were an absolute 10/10 and a must-order. We originally came for the prime rib, but unfortunately they had already sold out around 6 p.m., which was definitely disappointing. Thankfully, the food that did make it to our table erased that disappointment pretty quickly. We ordered the two-meat BBQ plate with ribs and brisket, and both were cooked to perfection. Wife had the Brisket sandwich which looking at the menu you'd think it would be 2-3 slices of brisket accommodating the bread and fixn's, Nope it it came out like pulled pork or canned beef jerky. I had the half chicken meal and I guarantee the the reason our meals were cold, was probably because the waiter was sitting at the table by the left rear wheel of the steam paver in the lobby instead of bringing our food out and we had to ask the server for the table behind us for a few boxes and our check!
