I'm in town visiting from CA. I met up with some family and we went here. I gotta say, the food was absolutely fantastic! Huge portions, and everything is made fresh in house. And right when I was thinking it couldn't get any better, it absolutely did!! Our server Susan was an absolute angel. Extremely attentive and definitely went out of her way to make us feel like family! Giant thank you to Susan for making this experience memorable! But wait, there's more!! After the meal, I had to make sure to let the manager know how great everything went. I spoke with Christy and she was an absolute gem as well! No wonder she has amazing staff like Susan because she is amazing as well!! I tip my hat Susan and Christy and I thank you again for everything! read more

I just wanted to followup on my previous review, the manager contacted me the next day and sincerely apologized for this incident explaining that this should have never left the restaurant and it was unacceptable. The manager offered me a full refund for our meal and a gift card on top of that to come back and let them make things right. I am giving two starts for the server! She was great. Had lunch here today and it was inedible. How could margarita pizza be bad? Welp it was terrible. The crust was weird and super white and soggy on the bottom. Pizza was tasteless and sauce was not good. Sent it back. Then I asked about the salad with chicken. Was told it is cooked in the morning and is served lukewarm on the salad. No thanks for 15$. So then I ordered soup and bread. Ciabatta bread. My grams calamari was tender and couldn't stop saying how good it was and she had never had it like that before it was so tasty. Assolutamente fantastico!! Never has there been an Italian restaurant that offered so many wonderful choices for just about any diet. Are you kidding me? Zoodles? Spaghetti Squash? This is also one of the few places left that still have angel hair pasta and they use deliciously perfect Roma tomatoes. No sugar added tomato sauce AND everything made in-house? Wow...that's about all I can say about this wonderful gem in the desert. Everything had taste bud pleasing flavor, portion sizes are perfect and at a very decent price. Not to mention service was perfect, immediate and very accommodating. Whether this was a lucky night for us, or the usual for this wonderful place, they have new fans that will back for more. There is a ton of variety to the menu which requires more visits to experience. Don't pass this place up! I was craving pasta after church and this was the closest place. I've never been here before and was excited to try it. What I immediately noticed when we first walked in, was the host being rude to guests who were asking simple questions about wait times. She told us it'd be 10 minutes, we waited close to 30. No one checked on us or any of the other guests waiting. If she had given us a realistic wait time, we would've been more understanding but no one was given an update. Her attitude completely turned us off so we ended up walking out and are headed towards another restaurant for some pasta and hopefully better service. read more

I am so glad that I took a friend's advice to try this place during a short stop in Phoenix. it was well worth a 1/2 hour Uber ride each way. The Sausage Lasagna was absolutely delicious! So glad that I also tried a housemade meatball & a housemade sausage link. Even the small order was a big portion. Delicious and filling. I had just enough room for Spumoni for dessert. To go food. Didn't take pics bc I shook it up in my car on the way home. Papa's favorite: as someone who doesn't normally eat a lot of cheese, but thought I'd risk it...there's so much cheese. The sheer size of it made 2 meals for me and I eat a ton of food. It's lasagna which kinda tasted like the stouffer's frozen lasagna. The noodles were different so it probably wasn't, but it tasted pretty similar. (So, not "terrible" but not "super good", just average at best). The noodles were a little over cooked. The spinach manicotti Alfredo was pretty good. Once again the noodles were a little bit over cooked. The flavor was decent, not too salty. I just prefer my pasta with a better texture. It was not disappointing though. The veal parmigiana was good. I thoroughly enjoyed that. Yum. The veal was tender, the breading was nicely done, good ratio of veal to breading and there was enough sauce so that it wasn't drowning in sauce and you still had the crisp texture. 10/10 would eat the veal parmigiana again. It also came with a salad. Basic but good. I like salads to balance out eating my weight in carbs. Pork Rib Diavolo with Angel hair: the honey ate the entire thing and didn't even offer me a taste. It must have been that good bc normally he shares but he didn't this time. It looked really good but I didn't want to risk getting a forkful bc idk how much of my hand I would have come back with. It came with Brussels sprouts with bacon and I did get to try those. They were good. I'd totally eat them again. The balsamic glaze was nice, not too sweet, not too tart or overly vinegary. It also came with a salad, he had a Caesar salad and had zero complaints. Kids spaghetti-they ate half of it, said it was amazing. The sauce is pretty good, and it's spaghetti, so you can't really go wrong with spaghetti at an Italian place unless the place is trash. The house bread is good. Next time I'll ask for a little more bread bc I didn't want to share it. It has a nice flavor, good chew to it, well seasoned. Yum. We can't choose platter- great way to try dessert when everyone has a different favorite. Tiramisu, cheesecake, chocolate cake, & biscotti. Tiramisu-you get a nice coffee flavor. Yum. I only wish I ordered the full size piece of this. It was light, delicious and honored its namesake of "pick-me-up" bc I was freakin delighted with it. It's one of my fave desserts for that reason. This place makes it "that" good. Cheesecake-we had ours with strawberry sauce. The sauce tasted like it was actually puréed strawberry, not some weird pink abomination. The texture was creamy, not overly sweet, and dense but in a good a way, that's how I like my cheesecake. Chocolate mascarpone cake-I'm not a huge fan of chocolate cake, but it wasn't terrible. The rest of the fam liked it, but for myself I wouldn't order it again. The cocoa flavor is not overpowering, and the frosting is light, but in my brain I imagined it tasting differently. Biscotti-I wish I had an order of it. It wasn't too sweet, it was crisp, chocolatey, and delicious. It's what all biscotti should aspire to be. If I wasn't eating this at night, I probably would have enjoyed it with coffee. We will probably be back, you get a good value for your money, and don't skip the dessert. They don't play lazy with their desserts and only offer ice cream/cookies/brownies. The tiramisu was my favorite part. read more

We have always enjoyed Cucina, however that was at the 83rd Ave location. They recently closed down that location, so we tried this, the original location. It's a little further east, but it's worth it. My favorite dish is the angel hair pasta with spicy sausage, red/green peppers, garlic and olive oil sauce. This has always been my favorite and always will be. Now this location to me does not measure up to the other location. Only reason why it gets four starts, This place is booming in business, it's always crowded, and loud. We always enjoyed the more romantic feeling at the other place. I highly recommend the calamari salad. My husband and I go here just for that. Problem is we don't live in Arizona anymore, so we were just back for a visit. The salad now comes in three sizes. The small is actually enough to fill me up, used to have leftover when it came in one size. There was a generous amount of fried calamari on the salad. It also has caramelized onion, feta, balsamic dressing and you can get fresh parmesan as well. I did think there was not enough dressing on the salad, but we had balsamic and oil at our table, so we were able to make do. My brought had the lasagna and was very pleased with it, but I cannot speak to it as I have never had it. read more

This is by far our favorite Italian restaurant in Arizona. We started going when we lived close by, but now travel from the east Valley to get there. My favorite is the spinach manicotti. Their pasta is so light and delicious. My kids love the chicken parm, and my husband loves the new ribs parmesan. Their prices are very fair. Service is mostly good, but we have on occasion had slow service. I truly do not understand the reviewers who prefer Olive Garden. Tagliani's is so much better. Since my last review the menu has changed a few times for the better. Also since my last review I've dined at several Italian Restaurants in the Scottsdale area that offer similar meals at much higher prices that aren't as good so I feel the need to update my review. This is a family owned and operated budget Italian Restaurant that's been a pillar of the area for over twenty years. Nothing comes pre-made all the food and sauces are prepared in-house. Portions are large and prices are low. No other restaurant that I know of offers around a half dozen fresh vegetable choices for your dinner nightly. If your not a fan of pasta you can alter your dish to be prepared with spaghetti squash instead. Although the restaurant isn't gluten free they do offer gluten free pasta and whole wheat pasta for those who are interested. Another health helpful option is the grilled chicken parmesan that you can get over vegetables if you care too. I had one of the new dinners Steak Gorgonzola where I swapped out the pasta for spaghetti squash ($13.99). This dish was richly flavored and delicious. The steak was seasoned and was butter knife tender. The sauce was delicious and flavorful. The dish was made with fresh spinach and sundries tomatoes and gorgonzola cheese. I'm a big fan of the spacious comfortable dog friendly patio and enjoy the live music that plays on the weekend. I've always found the service friendly and warm and efficient. Tag's offers DEEP discounts. You can get $25 extra on a $100. gift card purchase and they also have a Swipe Card that gives you additional savings. I've always liked Tagliani's. They have great food and an excellent atmosphere. The whole place is decorated with an Italian theme. There is a bar section with an outside patio and a main dining area that is quite large. This time they had a live musician in the patio area performing which was pretty cool. My last visit had the worst service I have experienced out of all the restaurants I have been to. First, we reserved a table for 5 at a specific time. When we arrived they pushed us back 30 more minutes, AFTER the time we reserved in advance. Next, after 15 minutes the waitress never came. Sat there with no drinks. We had to get up and complain and they a waitress would be by. Another 10 minutes pass, nothing. At this point we are about to leave but this was a dinner before a family member departed out of state and we really like the food. We complain again and then finally we had waitress after a minute. But, things went even further down hill from here. We got our orders in finally and got some bread but didn't have any oil and vinegar so, we asked the waitress if she could bring some to the table. She leaves and then is no where to be found after 5 minutes so we just take it off the empty table next to us. I went to the bathroom after getting the oil and vinegar to find that waitress was just talking with other waitresses standing idly by, doing nothing. While the food was excellent, the service was abysmal. There is a lot that needs to be improved at this location. I'm going to be steering clear of here for awhile. read more

We had a very nice experience and excellent food!! We went a couple weeks ago (see pictures) and it was so good that we returned again today!! Last time we sat on the patio with lots of misters. This time we sat inside. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the Italian music played at jut the right volume!! Someone suggested a remodel (although most post they enjoy the relaxing atmosphere as much as we did). I say "phewey to you" as this restaurant is 27 years old and has atmosphere and character!! Not everyone wants to go to a trendy and modern place...including me!! It is clean and very enjoyable!! We appreciate the character and charm of the entire building as it is quite unique!! I had the pineapple pizza with prosciutto, bacon and light jalapenos. It was DELISH!! Not sure which one my sister ordered but it had pepperoni and sausage and more. She enjoyed it. We had pasta and pizza the time before and loved it all!! Our server was attentive and was one of the VERY FEW and rare servers who actually offered us more water ATER we paid our bill!!
