Thought we'd come back since it had been about 18 years. We live close. I really wanted to like this place but sadly wasn't our thing. I noticed most of the clientele was old timers, probably coming since it opened in 93. We shared a small thin crust pizza, tasted like a frozen crust, meatball sliders, those were VERY good, and a wedge salad. Drinks were good. Kathy our bartender/waiter was excellent, very tentative. The biggest issue is the place definitely needs a remodel in the bar area. Dinning area was ok for a old skool kinda Italian vibe but the bar was like a western saloon, all cherry wood. They are In a perfect location, if they gave the place a face lift they could definitely attract a new crowd. But maybe their happy how it is. The place is always busy so I guess that's a good thing. We used to come here a lot. I even came here for a small reception after my small wedding ceremony 12 years ago. We used to love this place! Tonight we were disappointed. We sat on the patio to listen to the live music (Kenzie was a great singer!). We saw our waitress 3 times total. She was working at the bar and when we tried to wave down the other waitress, she would walk right past in a hurry. My husband had to walk inside and go to the bar to ask for refills. No one asked how the food was. I had a Chicken Caesar salad and the chicken was cold, really dry, and hard to eat. My kids liked their food. My husband got basic ravioli and enjoyed it. After waiting for a bit more and still not hearing from a waitress, my husband went up to the bar to get a to go box for my daughter's food and to get the bill from the bartender. He paid (full price) while he was up there and the bartender said NOTHING about being sorry that we didn't get refills or service after the food came out. Nothing. So disappointing. On the way out, I shared the lack of service with the hostess and was told that they're just really busy and to let them know next time. Why would we let you know when we went to the bartender/waitress directly and nothing was solved? Anyway, we wanted dessert so I paid at the hostess stand and got my dessert to go. (Just a little disappointed that after my complaint they still charged us for it) I still LOVE their chocolate marscapone cake and we all enjoyed it at home. Overall, I would say the food earned 3 stars but the service was 0 so I'll be nice and give a 2 this time around. The cake was a 5 but that may need to be a separate review for another day. **Maybe I'll ask to be sat in Darrell's section next time. The past 2 times we were here the table was sticky - literally had to pry the salt shaker off the other evening. Please have whomever is cleaning the tables use clean cloths and don't just brush crumbs onto the seats either. The clams in garlic/butter are always delish! Everything we have tried has been tasty and cooked well. They give you a decent amount of food as well. Deserts are always good, when you have the room for one! However, on our last visit,the usually drool worthy bread was burnt. Twice. We ate the couple of not burned pieces and asked for a bit more to sop up the clam broth, but the entire basket that our server brought over was burned the second time. I hope they get the bussers/servers trained a bit better on cleanliness at the front of the house. And get the bread guy to stop burning the amazing bread!! read more

I took my family to Cucina Tagliani this weekend. Since I haven't dined in this restaurant, my siblings highly recommended it. THEY WERE NOT WRONG!!! I was surprised by the quality of the food and the service. Our waitress was sassy in all the right ways. She was prompt, helpful, and fun. Her little jokes and comments kept us entertained throughout the whole dining experience. We knowingly ordered too much. I had the Papa B's Favorite combination-- Spinach Manicotti, Lasagna, and Veal Parmesan. Along with the bread service and the wonderful Caesar salad, I had enough leftovers for 2 days. The manicotti was creamy and topped with both marinara and bechamel sauce dusted with fresh nutmeg. Truly delightful! We tipped our waitress 50% because she deserved it. Well honestly, this used to be my favorite Italian place. I'm always one to choose small, independant, west side eateries over big chain ones. That's why I ALWAYS chose Tagliani's. After today's visit though, I think I'm finding a new place. We went there with a coupon and thank goodness we did. First let me mention that we couldn't find a menu with prices anywhere online. So, I ordered my favorite (baked spaghetti squash with marinara/alfredo "rose'" sauce and 2 meat balls) because I haven't been there in quite some time. My goodness the portions have changed. One of the reasons I came to Tag's was for the portions and cheap prices. I got NEITHER! My baked spaghetti was a whopping $28 and change! The idea behind getting this whole dinner was to have it for two nights. There are both a small and large size. I ordered the large (+meatballs $3.50 for 2). He ordered a Papa's Combo with diablo sauce (big mistake there!) Mine came with an abundance of sauce, which I'm not complaining about. His on the other hand was just a shame. We thought that the diablo could be added to the marinara. Nope, wrong about that guess. I've included pictures of both our dishes. And if you look back to other pictures of the baked spaghetti squash, you can clearly see the difference in size. Needless to say, I'm HIGHLY disapointed with what used to be one of my favorite places to go. And I'm not sure if and when we will be back. read more

The place is beautiful, the waitress was very kind and helpful, and their menu is very thoughtful and had descriptions about allergens, so no guess work if you're gluten free, vegan, or have allergies. One of the best hidden gems in the valley! I had my wedding reception here 6 years ago and we have been eating here for at least ten years. Like others I had originally frequented the now closed location at 83rd Ave...but have now been to the 59th Ave restaurant 3 or 4 times. They serve up consistently delicious food (their Marinara sauce is to die for) and the help is friendly and gracious. My friend and I order drinks from the bar and they are excellent as well. Dined here last night to celebrate an intimate wedding engagement. Our server, Alexis was absolutely awesome. She allowed us to take 2 1/2hrs to enjoy drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert. Our entrees were so delicious. The lobster tail dinner was succulent and full of flavor accompanied with steamed asparagus and fettuccine pasta. The NY steak Gorgonzola was grilled to perfection and tender with amazing flavors of Gorgonzola cheese. The shrimp diavalo was a delicious blend of spice with a very light sauce, numerous succulent shrimp and the ziti was Al dente. The appetizer Bruschetta Burrata was filled with so many flavors of pesto, balsamic drizzle and creamy burrata cheese . All the food was extremely fresh. It can be difficult to find vegan options at Italian restaurants, but Cucina Tagliani offers quite a lot of vegan dishes. My favorite is the build your own pasta because most of the pastas are vegan, they have three vegan sauces, and tons of veggies you can add. The portions are large so there's usually plenty to take home. Their pizzas, calzones, and strombolis are vegan if you hold the cheese. Their basic garden side salad is vegan too. I like that their website specifically outlines how to eat vegan there...super helpful! It meant I didn't have to Google it or dig for Yelp reviews from people who are vegan. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. I ordered the Papas favorite plate which contains lasagna, spinach manicotti and veal Parmesan. It was a generous portion but unfortunately the pasta under the spinach manicotti was uncooked. On a positive note the garlic bread did have the best salt and texture balance. The service was great but unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the building smell and the bathroom maintenance. Overall I also thought it was relatively pricey and I would return if I'm craving Italian. read more

Always a fan. For a few reasons, but my most important one is the dog friendly patio. I like to go for a few drinks on friday with my dog Blueberry who has the entire staff wrapped up in her little paw. Always good service, and although Im an atkins dieter, they are very in tune with making sure my dietary needs are met. Just a real good vibe from everyone there and the fact that they are involved in dog adoption events and have accomodations for my cheap little fur covered date make this place kinda great for the both of us. To all the staff and Mr Sample, thank you all for being accomodating. Foods great as well. Blueberry should be the mascot for this place. I realize now I had posted this review to the other location. Reguardless. I have not been to the other location and think a 5 star rating should be appropriate by association. Avanti! Giving this place only 2 stars because the meal I ordered tasted like just plain noodles. I ordered the build your own pasta and chose angel hair pasta with mushrooms and artichokes topped with "large" shrimp (barely had shrimps - see photo). The sauce I chose was butter caper sauce. So my pasta came out to taste like boiled noodles. It was horrible. I asked for some sauce and she brought some mushroom sauce with big chunks of tomatoes and that made my pasta taste slightly better with a lot of added salt, but it seemed like the sauce was dirty. I did not complain much, but I did mention that the pasta tasted tasteless. I'm very upset now because my daughter paid for dinner for the first time because it was my birthday today. The dish costed $16.99+3.99=$20.98! Hopefully maybe someone will see this and refund me and I will give this place another try and rating. My daughter got the Mama's special which included lasagna, chicken Parmesan (our favorite), and fettuccine Alfredo. The portion was huge and was $16.99 so that was a good deal. That made up for my dish and I ate some of her food. I will post my photos for you to see. We ordered dessert for my birthday and the tiramisu was very rich. The waitress was nice, but when I told her about the pasta being bland she said yeah the butter sauce is like that. She had said she was going to charge me $.99 extra for extra sauce. This was before I told her about the pasta. My thinking is that they should warn people order that sauce or know that it's tasteless and give another extra sauce for free. I don't think we should pay almost $21+ for an meal that tastes like plain boiled noodles. I can boil a box of noodles for a few bucks myself.
