If you ordered 1 tostada you would really get 3 tostadas worth of food. Now they literally only give you whatever fits on 1 tostada and charge 6 dollars more!!!!!! The micheladas used to be $12 and now they're $20 and they're plain because they no longer have flavored micheladas. Our bill was $500! We were in disbelief. They automatically charged gratuity. Just in gratuity and taxes we paid $103! I wished I would've read the reviews before going back. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

My sisters and I ordered take-out during quarantine since they are still open for take-out and delivery. They are taking orders through WhatsApp so if you call their store number, they might not pick up. We ordered aguachile and boiling shrimp which were amazing! So I'm gonna start off by saying I had not been to this place in over 5 yrs. Culichitown does not have the same business model it did back then with banda, buckets of beer, hanging out, etc. We went to celebrate my dads b day. My sister did make reservations, they told us 10 min, we ended up waiting somewhere between 20-30 minutes. Whatever no biggie. We had a table for 6, I do suggest making a reservation if possible, I know it can get packed at times. Once seated we were helped out quickly. We ordered drinks and appetizers and pretty soon dinner. The turn around was quick, we did not have to wait long for food considering we ordered a good amount of food. The music playing was mainly reggeaton, it is a lil too loud as it is hard to talk amongst each other let alone hear the waitress with a mask on. We had a great time, I was honestly mentally prepared for something to go/be wrong with how much it's changed and seeing the prior reviews. Our reservations were at 5, again we waited like half hour so say we sat at round 5:30, we were out by 7:45. Culichitown wants to get as many people in and out as quick as possible which I'm not mad at, they do have a large following of guests/customers. Also when we walked out at 7:45 there was no waiting in the lil waiting area nor outside, sister and I noticed it and where a lil surprised. If you are going to celebrate a special occasion definitely make reservations or just in general, that could help maybe reduce wait time. My friend and I went to culichi town to have dinner before work. I had never been so I convinced her to come with me to try it for the first time. She was kind of unsure about going but anyways we went. We had made reservations at 8pm because we go in to work at 9:30/10pm. When we arrived, the ladies at the front asked if we had a reservation and I said yes, gave them my name and time of reservation. I don't like to think anyone "hates" on me, but these ladies gave us a nasty look. We are young 25 year olds and we were dressed in club attire, and heels. They proceeded to tell us the wait was 45 minutes. I was like why ? We have reservations and we're on time? They said they're that busy. I was like ok whatever. We sat in the waiting area and as me and my friend were talking we looked at the seating area and there were a couple of tables available. I didn't say anything I thought we'll maybe there's a reason why they're not occupying those tables. 20-30 mins passed, the lady at the front called my name BUT she said it very low and not even looked my way. It's almost as if she didn't want me to hear her? I walked up to her and said "did u say Joselyn?" And she ignored me the first time I asked, she was talking to the other lady. I asked a second time but louder. She said "oh yea so we don't have booths available we have to sit you at a table" I was like "at this point I don't care we have to be at work soon." They sat us down and for nearly 15 minutes NO ONE ASSISTED US. I was getting pretty irritated at this point. I saw a guy in a suit and I told him what had been happening and that I was very annoyed. He apologized and had a bartender serve us? I didn't mind she was very sweet but I'm confused as to why they had to have a bartender assist us instead of an actual server. The food and drinks are fabulous but really over priced! The atmosphere is energetic and loud if you like that. They have live banda and it's good. When the banda is not playing they put regular music on and it's not as loud as the banda of course. The staff is friendly and on point and the food and drinks come out on time as they should. When this place first opened they would give you a tray of tostadas and a bottle of chipotle mayo, small cup of beans and salsa. The menu was big with pictures. Not anymore!!! I went in for lunch and all we got were chips and a small portion of salsa. I had to keep asking for more. I'm leaving 2 stars because the food was great as always. I ordered a michelada and they give me one with a strip of bacon and a bacon wrapped shrimp. I knew that was an expensive michelada when all i wanted was a regular michelada. Before when I wanted water I would get a glass of water. When I asked for water this time it came in a small bottle. Then we got the bill. $20 for the premium michelada. I told the waitress I didn't ask for the premium and she said that's how they all come. Then I was charged $3 for a small bottle of water. Then I had asked for more chipotle mayo .99 cents for that. Never was I told there was a charge for water and extra chipotle and the micheladas are now always premium. Also the parking is valet even when there are no cars and in the middle of the day when there are very few customers and the parking lot is empty. It wasn't like that before. I wanted to take a picture of the bill but i was so mad I left. The bill was $68 and I left a $5 dollar tip. Service was great but this restaurant really takes advantage of its customers. This place gets really busy during the weekends, at times there's an hour wait to be seated. However the atmosphere is very clubbing like feel. On the weekend they have Bandas playing during the afternoon and they go around and sign by your table for $20 a song. It can get really loud so it's mainly a go eat and listen to music because you can't really have a conversation unless your screaming to each other across the table. We use to come to this location a while back and there portions however have changed, you do get less food than what they use to serve before. Always wanted to try Mexican sushi and I'm glad I found this place. I went on a Wednesday when they have BOGO sushi. Their chips and three types of sauces were yum. One of them was a warm sauce. Unique to say the least. We ordered the Pico and the Kanamari rolls. They were huge!!! We also had the fish ceviche. Delish!!! They are very generous with their portions. We ordered the ceviche from the lunch menu and I am happy to say that just because it's from the lunch menu they do not skimp! They give plenty of tostadas and crackers for the ceviche and all the sauces that your heart desires! Service was excellent and I like the whole decor vibe with the leather seats and lots of my fave red color! They have a private parking lot and valet on their busy times. First and for most....The Shrimp Empanadas are a MUST have when you come here. Like seriously!!! Don't skip out on them. My experience here as a Salvadorian has been quite interesting.
