UGG.... this place is about the vibes and the music and the festivities and it's definitely not about the food because the food was just...MEH....We had some kind of roll that was so compressed that the race ended up to be like paste it looks like it was deep-fried...The AguaChilles was decent... they give out free chips and it was pretty lousy but I did think the chorizo cheese dip was decent...my date had shots of tequila so she was definitely drowning her sorrows away because the food was not up to par for us, meantime I had some boxed Jamaica that tasted like it came from a box.... we had one more dish but obviously it wasn't too memorable otherwise I would've remembered what it was... total bill was about 100 bucks 100 bucks... with a $20 tip total bill was $120....When we left, the music was blaring And it was pretty packed at 10:30PM....Oh well, mediocre sushi with blaring music is the combo in this demographics I guess...yikes! read more

I went to culichi town a couple weeks ago, The service was good the food was good. They moved us to a table in the shade so that was nice. I didn't feel the need to yelp about this place, till today. I came home to mail from their corporate. Somehow, I dropped my pay stubs At their restaurant and they took it upon themselves to send them back to me. I had no idea my son dropped them at the restaurant. I am so grateful they did that instead of just throwing it out! Really bad service. I ordered a single roll of sushi over the phone and was told the wait time was 20/25 min. I walk in and the restaurant was not that full and they still had me waiting an extra 20 minutes. After I complained they went and checked and it still wasn't done. Horrible service. I've been here a few times over the last 5 years, the last visit being this past week. Overall, it's just OK, I feel there has been a bit decline in food quality as this location has approached more of a nightclub/lounge feel, and less restaurant. This might of started happening after they got their liquor license. I've seen that owner responds on the reviews, which is awesome. Good for him for engaging with his customers. Before I get into it, TBH, I think we are not the target customer for this establishment. If they ever open Culichi Town Express (sans Banda), I'll be there. Also, I want to address some of the reviews I've seen for location. With regards to the authenticity of the sushi, you should not walk in here expecting the yellow-tail sashimi or nigiri you would find in traditional sushi shops. This is Sinaloa-style sushi! Meaning, almost every roll has cream cheese, shredded carrot garnish, there are more fried rolls, there are a variety of rolls with beef, and there is copius use of spicy mayo and tamarind sauce. If you have ever travelled to north-west Mexico you would know that this place pretty much captures that scene. Also, live Banda. I went with my significant other on a Tuesday night and tried their three roll special ($5 discount for ordering three any three rolls) with their Jazmin tea. We were seated quickly and the server promptly brought us chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and the Salsa was tasty, it had a bit of smoky flavor. Since the the waitress was nice and we were served promptly, I will only focus my review on the food and the atmosphere. The Jazmin tea was a bland, on a previous visit we could taste the tamarind and lime a bit more. The sushi was just ok, I wish I could remember all the rolls we got but I know one of them was the "Lupillo". In general the sushi-rice could have been better, it was a little hard. The fish didn't have that much taste to it. It was OK because there are the tamarind and spicy mayo sauces at the table to dress the sushi, but still, the fish should be the star of the show. The atmosphere is basically a nightclub with the lights turned on. Your classic "Buchon" hangout. There's live Banda. They were pretty good, and super loud. Don't get me wrong, I like Banda a lot. But I also like being able to have a conversation while eating. This did not degrade the service however, as the server did an excellent job of communicating with us while the Banda was on. The prices are slightly higher than other Sinaloa-Sushi and Sushi spots in general. I think there is a premium charged for the Sinaloa-style and the live Banda. My drink was 15 dollars I only had if it one maybe if it was 7 dollars I probably would of purchase more. The food was very good but basic for it. My plate was 21.00 for half a piece of asada. The waitress we had had lost her voice not sure if she was sick or something. But that just made us uncomfortable. Our food didn't come out the same time we had to wait for other plates that was a boomer but my company didn't mind so we ate our food so it wouldn't get cold. My friend took me to this place raving about the unique dishes they prepare and flavorful cerviche. He only had their food as take out and never had dinner there. Here's my review of the place... The food was decent, but overpriced. I understand that Sinalonese sushi is a specialty item, but there should be more choices under $15.00. Shrimp cocktails are $20.00 and up! if they wish to continue their business they should really reconsider their menu choices. The food was great, but pricing in relation to the portions they provide is lopsided. Ambience: HORRIBLE! They attempt to give the place a BENIHANA vibe with the decor, but its just a tacky mess- multiple TV screens decorate the walls and a banda arrived playing LOUD obnoxious music. There is no where in the establishment a person can sit without being disturbed. DO NOT TAKE A DATE HERE if you are hoping for intimate conversation. Service: Waitress delivers orders and that's it. No check up on how things are going, no water refills, we actually had to get up and seek out someone to pay for our meal with a security guard following us stopping us, believing we were planning to make a Denny's dash. We came here with the intention of having a nice family dinner to celebrate my sister in laws birthday. To start off we ordered a few drinks and some shrimp empanadas. We were a bit sad to see their menu has changed and the food wasn't the same. They brought the empanadas with all the sauces on top without telling us that it was spicy or without asking if that was ok, so we ordered a second plate of empanadas without sauce and they messed that up too. So we said fine, no worries bring us another. And In that third order there was a sticker inside the empanada. Yes!!! A sticker!!! We asked for the manager and this is where things went bad. He came over with very ugly unprofessional attitude and instead of saying sorry and replacing that plate he simply said "what do you want me to do about it?!" He then said that they make one big batch for the night and that if he were to replace the empanadas that "he wouldn't guarantee that there wouldn't be more stickers in it" I told him that was very unprofessional to say and that if that was the case why continue serving the rest of the customers the same food?! Things got ugly to the point where my family and I felt uncomfortable to stay and eat, so we left. Our food was still in the process of being brought out and some of the plates never made it to the table so of course we were not going to pay for something we didn't consume. They then called the cops because they said we were refusing to pay making this a bigger issue than what it was. I said I would pay for the drinks that we did consume but not the food. This was a very uncomfortable, embarrassing, and unpleasant experience. Mikey the manager gives the franchise of culichitown a horrible image!!!!! My whole point in this is that if you go to this restaurant double check your food as the manger himself made it clear that they don't care for how the food is made. My girls and I decided to come eat at this restaurant, it was 6 of us but only 2 including me had been there before. I have never experienced bad service like this before! I literally had to stop her and see what was going on && she said they were preparing them. We decided to keep drinking but we knew we had no time left because the waitress would disappear for the most part but we went ahead and ordered one last drink (pina fresada) and after asking our waitress about it because it took another 20mins she said they ran out of glasses and at that point we were done. Why make us wait so long just to tell us that! Eventually she did bring it out but at that point we only had 15mins left before closing to finish up our drink and yeah you guessed it. We didn't get to. My friend ordered an horchata before leaving and then she brought us our $200 check. As we sit there splitting the bill she comes back brings the horchata and tells me "oh I forgot to charge the horchata" so she takes away the original check and gives me the new one with the added drink. Saturday April 10, 2021. This was my first time at Culichi Town-Bell, CA and I had an amazing time. Starting with the beautiful hostess Britney. She was so kind and helpful and on top of that she is extremely beautiful, outgoing, charming, personable, smart/witty, funny, and just a great time. The intro to this restaurant was already top service and 5 stars in my book. After we were seated, Karina (our waitress) gave 4 star service. The reason I say 4 stars is because nothing compares to the hostess Britney. I have truly never been hosted better than her. That being said, Karina was excellent. The food was top notch quality. I had the guamuchilito and loved it. The way the avocados accent the breaded sushi is unmatched in any establishment I've been to in the sushi/entertainment industry. After our meal, the valet service was quick to bring our car around. As we were waiting for the valet, I was again astonished at the customer service by no other than, you guessed it, Hostess Britney. She was so grateful for our business and gave us the proper farewell that we deserved. Britney is an exemplary person, human, employee, and an artist in the hostess industry. My coworkers and I were really craving sushi and it had been a long day work so we decided to go to Culichi Town. We got there and were sat promptly, our server Miguel came to ask us for drinks and maybe 10mins later came to take our order. All was great, we were enjoying a conversation but does it really take that much effort to ask if we need anything? Without exaggeration, it took nearly 30mins to even get our servers attention. It felt like every other table was attended promptly and constantly check-up on but ours was un-acknowledged. We are understanding if it's busy, but It wasn't even busy, at most, there was 6-7 tables being served and there were atleast 2 other servers. I had never been to a Culichi Town, so my first time was on Friday 6/8. I ordered a Negra Modelo Michelada that comes with shrimp. Nothing special about it. I ordered some ceviche pero no me acuerdo cual. I believe it had raw shrimp and octopus with the salsa negra. It was pretty good actually. but next time I'll probably just get one that is solely shrimp. Then i ordered the shrimp tacos. Initially we wanted the crispy shrimp tacos but our server said that they didn't make those anymore so we tried the soft tacos. They were fire. I think she said they fry the shrimp in the tempura batter. Then they had the banda/ group. They were not that good and they were charging $25/song. More than food itself. Nah to that. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars... we'll i got a rash on my arms the next day. I am not allergic to shellfish and I've never had a rash after eating seafood. not sure if i got the rash from their seafood... maybe a possibility. has anyone ever gotten a rash from eating there? I placed an order at 6:05 they said it would b ready in 30m so I got there at 6:55 I went up to the front desk and I asked for my order they said they will go check hmm 5 minutes to come back and tell me they didn't fucking place my order.
