Went here for the first time with some friends, and let me just say I most definitely won't be coming back. The food itself wasn't bad and I actually enjoyed it, but the deafeningly loud, and I mean loud, music is what ruined it for me. After I left I was convinced my eardrums got blown out. But it doesn't stop there. My friends thought it would be cute to get this patito with mango shots, and honestly they were not hitting at all. Mind you we got two of these, and they still weren't hitting. You're literally just paying for the sparklers and the attention it brings you when it comes to the table. I was very impressed with the quality and taste of this new restaurant to the Sylmar community. The rolls where really good and have many options. The customer service was excellent. Will definitely be ordering from here again. If anything the band is overkill and makes it hard to hear, let alone order food. I can see most people in the community might really like the atmosphere, as for me I would not go here if you want to have a quiet dinner with family. This place has the worst costumer service. We should up there was a few people in the restaurant and only one girl working the whole restaurant. I honestly felt bad for her cause she was keeping a great attitude while she's doing everything on her own. She sat us down and we waiting for her to come back out to take our order which took about 15 to 20 min to take our order. She apologized and asked us to be patient which yes we understood. Then another employee walked in with so much patients like he didn't have to work or even tried to help the poor girl out. She told us she would bring our drinks out and some chips as soon as she can. We noticed the people who had came in after us got there drinks and chips and we were like ok we have understand the poor girl is running around everywhere. About 30 to 40 min had passed and nothing at this point I got frustrated and decided to go to another restaurant. I recently had the Ceviche de Camarón to go for lunch. The size of the bowl was very ample. The taste however was not the best. The lemon juice tasted like the peel. My wife said it's because it's not fresh juice, it gets like that after a while. I don't know the reason why it tasted like that but it was awful. Prices are not bad but not worth it. I really like supporting local business and family owned but this is not family owned, it is corporate. Here in Sylmar there is no shortage of Mexican food restaurants, or Sea food. They do have a clean establishment and plenty of parking, but I just can't get over how terrible tasting my plate was. I am also not a fan of some of there fusion dishes such as Hot Cheetos on seafood and then served with tortilla chips. Lol. The service is excellent but unfortunately the food was not great. We ordered the Shrimp mix (breaded, bacon wrapped, and grilled). For $18 I expect more than 6 shrimps. The plate was too small. And I think it could've tasted better. Also, we ordered the Culichi tostada (ceviche) and the Navolato (ceviche). Both were too bitter. They didn't squeeze the lime right, tasted like the lime peel/zest. In addition, we also ordered the Culichi shrimp (in a green sauce). Not bad but not great. Also $18 for a small plate. Overpriced. The one is Sylmar I just recently visit I was looking forward to it cause it's near the area where I live. She would disappear for long periods of time I asked her for a drink saw when it was put in the bar table for pick up and it was there for 10 mins didn't think it was mine because of the time period it was there and when I finally saw her and asked for my drink it was that one that was sitting there. We didn't see her for the rest of the time we were there even the table next to us which she was also serving didn't see her and had to ask for the check to another waiter and once we saw her we asked for the check although we still wanted more drinks we decided to leave since she never even cared to ask or come by her tables. We waited 10mins then I got up and asked the register girl for my check and this women finally pops out, out of no where and honestly she did not deserve a tip in our opinion she basically did nothing but my husband let her have the $2 leftover from our bill and she had the audacity to chase us down outside the restaurant told him the money he had gave her was wrong and I walked away knowing he would take care of it while I put my little ones in the car and when he came back he told me she was demanding more money for the tip?? So when I looked at the menu online I just went with sushi, never had sushi in my life, but on the picture menu it looked good so I ordered the "steak roll". ! It was my first time visiting this restaurant because I heard good things about it but unfortunately the food was not good at all. First of all I couldn't talk or hear my friend whenever she talked to me because the music was EXTREMELY loud. The group that was playing did not station on one spot but walked around the entire restaurant singing and playing their loud instruments. The food was not good at all. The shrimp empanadas had a horrible taste like the shrimp was old and the mojarra frita (fried fish) was super greasy. I also ordered a michilada, big mistake! It tasted like tomato juice with a lot of ice, couldn't taste the beer. Stick to cold dishes might be better than hot. The server was very attentive though. No complains on that area. read more
