We had spent months planning this event and this was incredibly disappointing. Even before the guests arrived, I noticed the cupcakes and macarons I had brought in melting from the extreme heat. All the guests were noticeably and understandably uncomfortable and sweating the entire 3 hours. No one came to check on us or to apologize for the inconvenience. This was not the event we had envisioned for the guest of honor who was 8 months pregnant. It was not only uncomfortable but also posed a health risk.The restaurant showed a lack of concern, care and accountability over the entire situation. I understand that the weather and the AC breaking were out of anyone's control but the handling of the situation and the aftermath was poor. We tried to give the restaurant opportunities to make this right but they failed at every opportunity. Because of the lack of communication, poor decision making and incompetency, I cannot recommend this restaurant for any events. The servers were nice and the food was all right but there are many other acceptable options for food in the area.

The person I spoke with, was incorrect. They have multiple fryers, and they have fryers fully dedicated to gluten free. Since the misinformation came from the kitchen, the chef is also going to review with the entire kitchen staff, the proper safe cooking practice, and that accidents don't happen. No espresso drinks, but it includes bottomless mimosas. Champaign with orange, pineapple, cranberry juice, or all three. Yes, all three please. Eggs are custom made orders by request. The brunch buffet had great options. It included, pancakes, waffles, French toast, crepes, pasta, potatoes, cod, chicken, meats, salads, pizza, fruit, yogurt, various breads, crème brûlée, and mini chocolates. My mimosa was perfect, since I poured my side juices in myself. The food all tasted great. My complaint is the eggs. I ordered two fried eggs. I had to remind her of the order because I believe the kitchen forgot my eggs. She made an excuse that they were busy. I don't think so, since I could see the three of them from my table. When I received them, they were hot and fresh, but the worst fried egg I've ever had. Ugly and runny. A fried egg should be the easiest thing to prepare. Disappointing. The entire time I was here, there were at most five parties. One was a large group celebrating a birthday. Not crowded on Sundays. No reservation required. I only had two separate plates of food and a plate of desserts. Unless you eat or drink a lot, the price of the buffet brunch is not worth it. In summary, service was good. My champagne glass was never empty. Excluding the eggs, all the food tasted great. I like the overall look of the restaurant. The Sunday buffet brunch is not my first choice.

Not only was the service exceptional, but he genuinely made some of the best cocktails we've had in a while. Sitting at the bar and watching him make the drinks was honestly part of the experience itself. At first we were trying to customize and tweak our drinks because we usually stay in our comfort zone, but after talking with him and learning more about the ingredients in The Peel's specialty cocktails, we decided to trust the process a little more. We ordered the Dragonfly and Playing With Fire, and both were amazing--beautiful presentation, really balanced flavors, sweet and sour in the best way. We're usually not big foam cocktail people either, but this visit might've changed our minds a little. Also, Playing With Fire came with a fun little presentation moment which made it even better. Honestly, I was really impressed with my experience here. I even came back for another drink at breakfast before checking out of the hotel lol. The dining area also looked beautiful and the food coming out to other tables looked really good too. Definitely looking forward to coming back anytime I'm around the Anaheim area again.

We had a great experience at Culinary Dropout in Orange and would definitely return. We were a party of three with an early reservation, and everything started off smoothly. One of our friends arrived before us and was seated early with no issues. They offer complimentary valet, so definitely take advantage of that. Street parking is also available, but it can be tricky, especially on weekends. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside, and the atmosphere was lively but comfortable. Our server, Trenton, took care of us, checking in at all the right times. We also loved seeing the store manager, David, actively involved. He was constantly circulating, helping tables, and checking in on us frequently, it's always nice to see management so hands-on! For starters, we ordered the soft pretzels with provolone fondue, which is absolutely shareable. There were so many pretzels we had to take some home! We also tried the whipped feta with bread, and it was so good. Easily 10/10. The bread was buttery and delicious I highly recommend! Next, we shared the Asian Crunch Salad with Thai curry vinaigrette. It had the perfect crunch and was another great dish to share. For our mains, my boyfriend and his daughter both ordered the fried chicken, and they said it was perfectly fried with a generous portion. I ordered the roasted salmon, which was excellent. The toasted couscous that came with it was especially delicious, I'll definitely order it again! I couldn't finish it, so I boxed it up, and it held up really well the next day. For drinks, my friend ordered a beer, my boyfriend had the Paloma Spritz, and I went with an Old Fashioned. The cocktails were all good and well made. We ended the night by sharing the Mississippi Mud Pie, and I really enjoyed it, a perfect dessert to split! The place gets very busy, but we came at the perfect time. Honored to be invited to the soft opening of this wonderful experience! I hadn't heard of it before and didn't know what to expect but EVERYTHING from the lighting, furnishings, drinks, food and service were TOP NOTCH! I was surprised to find valet parking in an ordinarily crowded area where you typically need to arrive 30 minutes early and walk quite a bit to get where you're going....which is ok, but so nice to see a valet option! Every square foot of the venue is thought out from comfy patio chairs and heaters, to lush velvety indoor furnishings perfect for date nice coziness. And then the drinks (which I hardly imbibe anymore) were deeeeelish! Their vodka mule replaces ginger beer with a ginger syrup and made it so much lighter than normal and now I'll never drink it another way. Popcorn shrimp....lightly fried, savory; the fried chicken...CRRRRISPY, light and tender inside. And I was not a fan of chocolate until my 40s but their mud pie...I wanna go back just for that! Going back and highly recommending my new favorite local restaurant. Tres magnifique! PS: Alyssa was attentive without being overly pushy about anything... patiently waited to let us savor drinks & apps and timed our dinner to come out nice and warm...great coordination between kitchen and service. The Ambiance and service were great, but food on the otherhand wasn't what we were expecting. My husband and I joined our elderly parrents here for dinner. We were promply seated, and like I mentioned service was great. My husband ordered the Short Rib and I ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich. The meat on both of these were super fatty. Half of my Prime Rib Sandwich was so fatty that I couldn't take a bite without pulling the whole piece of meat out of the sandwich. It was my first bite, so I embarssingly had to chew and chew what should have been about half of my meal until i could swallow it. The portion size on the included fries was also crazy small for the price point. My husband didn't eat half of his short rib plate due to similar issues with the meat. The pretzels, deviled eggs, and dessert were good. Maybe check the prep /portions for these items and make sure your cooks aren't leaving too much fat per portion? I know that both of these items should have fat, but if half of the sandwich is so chewy that I have to take the whole piece out, there is a problem. I can tell you are running a tight operation, but food quality matters and although I can't speak for my folks, my husband and I didn't enjoy our entrees. read more

Culinary Dropout has quickly become one of my favorite spots near the Circle. The vibe and ambiance are great--energetic without feeling overwhelming, making it a perfect place to grab drinks, meet friends, or hang out after work. Their happy hour offers decent pricing on both food and cocktails, and the menu has plenty of solid options to choose from. What really stands out, though, is the service from bartender Long. He takes the time to connect with guests, remembers people when they come back, and genuinely makes you feel welcome. Hospitality like that is hard to find these days, and they definitely need more people like him behind the bar. While some of the other bartenders can make the experience feel a bit transactional, Long elevates the entire atmosphere and keeps me and friends coming back. I can't say enough good things about this place. The food is consistently outstanding -- fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The bar absolutely knows what they're doing too. Every cocktail I've ordered has been perfectly balanced and crafted like a pro made it (because they did). The atmosphere is always fun and energetic, whether you're there for a casual dinner or a lively night out. Even when they're slammed busy, the service never drops. The staff handles the rush with professionalism and a great attitude -- they truly are amazing. I've been here around 30 times, and only once did I need to have a meal fixed -- and they took care of it right away with no hesitation. That kind of consistency and customer care is rare. I've been coming to Culinary Dropout in Orange pretty regularly, and it's one of those places that's consistently good. The food is great, the drinks are always on point, and their happy hour is hard to beat. What really makes this place stand out is the service. Everyone here is friendly and attentive, but the manager, David, deserves a special shout out. He's always walking around checking on guests, making sure everything is going well, and you can tell he genuinely cares about the experience. It's rare to see a manager that involved, and it definitely doesn't go unnoticed. I'm really happy Culinary Dropout came to the City of Orange. A group of us came in and spent around $500. We ordered several appetizers and shared different plates because everything looked so good. I personally ordered the tacos gobernador. That night and the next day was awful. I started vomiting, had severe diarrhea, missed work, and my child also got sick after eating. Because of what happened, I called the restaurant to let them know and make them aware. I wasn't expecting an argument--I just wanted them to take the situation seriously. But I was being confused for someone that had already called earlier that day with the same problem. I felt completely brushed off. The response I received was basically, "Thanks for your comment." When I spoke with a supervisor he came across as aggressive and made me feel like I wasn't even allowed to express my concerns about what happened. As a regular paying customer, that was incredibly frustrating. I'm not saying restaurants don't have challenges or that mistakes can't happen. But when customers spend hundreds of dollars, we deserve quality food, proper food safety practices, and to be treated with respect when we report a serious issue. Whether this was a food handling problem or cross-contamination, my experience should have been taken seriously instead of dismissed.

Lemon Spritz- It was refreshing with a strong citrusy flavor and mild sweetness. Perfect for the heat! Calamari- Crisp breading and a nice, chewy interior. Seafood was fresh. Served with a lemon wedge and a side of marinara. Rigatoni Salsiccia- This dish comes with a savory tomato based sauce with italian sausage. Quite tasty and filling. Spaghetti Carbonara- Rich and creamy with a cheese based sauce and crispy guanciale pieces. Probably one of the best carbonara versions I've had. Cannoli- Crisp shell and creamy ricotta filling. It was light and tasty. Zeppole- Served fresh from the fryer. The dough is pillowy and light with a rich nutella filling. Finished with powdered sugar.
