Came here for brunch with a group of friends to celebrate bdays. Tucked in a beautiful old town Orange. Loved this area a lot. They have many cute restaurants and stores to check out. We were given a very private room with the bar. They have enough seating outside giving it a very chic California vibe! Our server was a bit too friendly maybe even a bit chummy. We got a few things. Mine was vanilla latte which I really liked. I also got Chilaquiles with hard poached eggs. Honestly I didn't like mine at all. Too bland and nothing tasted well enough to recommend. The eggs were cold which I'm not a fan. Got their Zinc Benedict and they were out of smoked salmon which they asked we substitute it for extra eggs. So beside the vibe and coffee I don't have much to say. May have to go again and order something different!!

Came for brunch today and had a lovely time! Zinc is located in Old Town Orange about a block away from the main circle in the old fruit exchange building. There's a bunch of street parking around the area (mainly paid via Park Mobile), but it can get filled up depending on when you come. The restaurant is really cute with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and you can make reservations online so definitely take advantage of that. Service was good, the staff was super friendly and quick to seat us, however the wait time for our food was definitely on the longer side. That being said, all the food was totally worth the wait. Their Baja fish tacos were delicious, with the fish being fresh, crispy, and flavorful. The French toast was great as well, and the Middle Eastern breakfast being another standout. The food is on the pricier side, but for the vibes, quality, and flavor I'd say it was worth the treat. Definitely one of the better Zinc locations I've visited, and I will absolutely be back for brunch and dinner again. There's a lot to choose from in the Old Town Orange area, and Zinc is definitely up there on the list!

Had such a great experience at Zinc! Loved everything from the building to decor to the food and the mimosa flight. It was great! Open daily from 7am-9pm this is situated of the Orange Circle. We ordered the eggs Benedict, chilaquiles and the asparagus and mushroom omelet and split them amongst 3. We were all excited at how flavorful everything was. Our server was so nice. Derick came over and pooped our cork and pour us our champagne. They use Bianchi brand which is so smooth, bubbly and tasty. Will definitely be back. Pricing is a little higher then other places. Definitely a must if you are in the area. Can't wait to go back and try their Dinner menu.

Highly recommend Never dining here. Upon checking in we shared we had a reservation and were asked to wait a bit. We were then offered a spot directly in the sun, and they refused to offer an umbrella, so we declined. We were then offered a micro table in the Bar...so we opted to wait longer for a suitable spot. Thirty minutes later, we met our server, Leo who accidentally placed our drink orders to a different table, and got our food order wrong. We never saw him again. Had to flag down other employees for ranch, water, and the bill. We all agreed the coffee and matcha were the worst we've ever had. The $22 lox bagel was laughable -- my friend could barely eat any of it -- and to top it off, we were charged for a drink that should've been comped. The curbside appeal of this place is pretty, but the experience is pretty ugly.

First of all it's a great location! It's in Old Town Orange so you can walk around after enjoying a brunch. The restaurant also has a great aesthetic! Defines recommend sitting outside when it's sunny; inside seating is nice- it's warm and cozy! For parking, you usually just street park. I went on a Saturday morning and there were still lots of street parking. Inside the restaurant is like a bakery, they have pastries and sweets that you can also order or take togo. The food was enjoyable! I really liked the Zinc benedict and recommend you try it if you try this cafe. It tastes fresh and the benedict was made nicely! The Zinc sandwich was fine (nothing great but not bad). The bread was a bit harder but the meat inside tasted good! My favorite was actually the fries! They are thinly sliced and seasoned perfectly. It's crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We also ordered a Zinc sunrise and I really liked it! The peach taste in it was sweet and I recommend this drink (it is nonalcoholic). We were seated quickly but the service was a bit slow, so if you are solo dining or looking for a quick brunch, it might not be for you. However, if you are going with friends and aren't in a rush, you could definitely stop by!

I've ordered twice for pick up now. It's slowly becoming one of my favorite carry-outs. Their menu has a large range of items to choose from. Today, I fell in love with the tiramisu. The fact I was also able to order it with a burger and pizza. The burger is good, personally the truffle mushroom burger had a little too much mushroom for me, so I recommend the regular cheeseburger. The only downside here, you're gonna have to hunt for parking. But otherwise, it's been a tasty, convenient dinner option so far.

I've dined here twice for brunch with my husband and three year-old daughter and both times we had a blast. We always elect to sit inside, but they do have a pretty nice outdoor patio when the weather is pleasant. My absolute favorite things here are the super crispy double fried truffle fries and their bacon onion white pizza. Highly recommend! Other honorable mentions are the zinc Benedict and French toast. They also make really great salads. High chairs are available for the little ones. If you're looking for a cute little place to have brunch, look no further. zinc café is the perfect place for that!

I love this place and 100% recommend. The rosemary latte is always so good and the Middle Eastern Breakfast is my favorite. I've only ever been for brunch, but it hits every time. Sitting outside here is peaceful, too.

Came back to Old Towne Orange with friends for another round of eating, drinking, and wandering and of course, we had to stop by Zinc Café & Bar, a spot I stumbled upon last year and instantly fell in love with. This place sits right inside the Plaza Historic District, an area that used to be the heart of Orange County's early citrus industry. The building itself was built in 1922 and originally housed the Sunkist Orange County Fruit Exchange, yes, actual vintage orange history! Zinc moved into this gorgeous building around 2023 as I remembered, and considering their first-ever location opened in Laguna Beach back in 1988, we came in with slightly higher expectations... and the vibes definitely delivered. They've got a cozy patio where sunlight falls in just right, surrounded by a bit of greenery, perfect for slow brunch moments. Inside, they kept the original high ceilings and huge windows, and there's even a small bar area you can reserve for private events. Overall, it's giving that chic, modern American brunch energy without being too fancy. Totally the type of place you go to for coffee, tea, and long conversations. We went all in on brunch and ordered: * Middle Eastern Breakfast * Asparagus & Mushroom Omelet (with potatoes) * Avocado Toast * Baja Fish Tacos * Shrimp Tacos * Cappuccino * Mocha * Matcha Latte * Passion Fruit Iced Tea * Latte with lavender syrup Food was solid, portions were big--we were stuffed. Service was friendly and chill. They checked on us just enough without hovering, which I really appreciated. After brunch, we walked around Old Towne to admire all the Halloween decorations, people here go all out! Zinc Café & Bar 195 S Glassell St, Orange, CA 92866

Cute spot for lunch or happy hour after a long day of antiquing in Orange Circle! Their drink portions are very generous and Zinc is a great option for healthy dining and Mediterranean-style fare. Service is great and super attentive. Highly recommend any of their pizzas, salads, or burgers-- although I've heard the cocktails are fantastic as well!

Wondering if you should try Zinc? DO IT! I've gone a few times and each time I'm so happy I went. The ambiance is cute and fresh with indoor and outdoor seating. There's also a little bar with a very different vibe than the rest of the restaurant. I haven't had a cocktail yet, but plan on changing that soon. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich with sourdough bread instead of the ciabatta and the tomato bisque as the side. Both were AMAZING! Soup was so flavorful and went so well with the sandwich. Fish tacos usually come beer battered, but we requested grilled. Tacos came packed with all the typicall fixings. I would order again.

When making reservations a $25 deposit is required per person but will be applied to your bill day of visit. The hostess was very kind upon check in and took us to the back where the 46 door is. She provided us a code and explained the time limit along with house rules. We were then told to knock on the door and proceed with the experience. Kudos to the owner as this is the only speakeasy in the OC that has a true speakeasy feel entrance. They had a gentleman open the peephole and ask for the entry code. Once we said the code we entered a really cool mine shaft area. The attention to detail was on point and I was impressed! We were then taken upstairs to a private bar where there are four tables of four so a max of 16. This makes sense as to why reservations are hard to come by. The only ding about seating is you are sat with strangers it is not a private table. Luckily we had a fun older couple at our table so it made the conversation more lively. Otherwise don't go here with an expectation of an intimate/ private date night. They also offer a limited food menu but looked very promising. However, we were here for a night cap so just dabbled in drinks. The bartender had a seasonal menu of 4 cocktails he created. He explained the drinks and then had us try each one with a straw. We then placed our order based on what we liked. He did say if we were not a fan he could create us our own personal cocktail as well. The old fashion he created was phenomenal! Overall, a cool little spot in the OC. Do wish they were open later as they do close at 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

It has this dark but classy aesthetic and I was not prepared for that (in a good way). This restaurant has been here for about 2 years with different ownership and menu so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Hugo helped us with our order and he was very friendly and professional. We went ahead and ordered the ahi tuna taco, pork belly bao, garlic fries, the margharita pizza, the yuzu lobster pasta, and for drinks I got the virgin burning thyme. My friend got that and other drinks as well. Ahi tuna taco - 5/5 probably the best food item for the evening. The tuna was fresh, perfect amount of kick in its sauce, and the outter shell was perfectly crunchy. I think them replacing the shell with wonton was exceptional with the texture. Every bite was extremely satisfying. Pork Belly bao - 4/5 everything was delicious. The bow itself is bouncy and moist. There wasn't anything special about the sauce inside with the pork belly, but I would definitely give it a try at least once. A great portion with your friends or family as an appetizer. Garlic fries - 3/5 It was a bit underwhelming, but nothing horrible. I could not taste the garlic at all, but the fries itself was cooked to perfection with the outer being pretty crispy and inside being soft. Margharita pizza - 4/5 I really like the crust and the breading of this pizza. It was crispy and the pepperoni was cooked to perfection. I really like the small pepperoni because it gives an immense amount of flavor in each bite. The cheese and the tomato sauce was fine, but nothing special. Yuzu lobster pasta - 4/5 I wish I was able to taste more of the Yuzu since that's in the name of the dish, but I could not. If it was just called the lobster pasta I would say it's amazing. The tomatoes were perfect to lighten the entire dish with the heavy sauce and the pasta. The lobster was cooked fine. Other than that it was fine, but I would say either enhance the Yuzu flavor or remove it in the name of the dish. Burning thyme - 4.5/5 I really like the acid and the balance of sweetness and sour in this drink. Usually, I get skeptical when I make an alcoholic drink version because the bartender tends to over sweeten the drink, but this was not the case, and I enjoyed it a lot with our food.

He made us feel welcomed as it was our first time coming here. By we I mean my self and three friends as well. He took our orders mentally. That was impressive! And got every order correct. He knew his menu items. I ordered a hot coffee (refills available) and the garden omelette. Instead of their bakery it's chi ie of beignets or a muffin, I opted for sourdough toast. Delicious! I took some leftovers home. For what I paid for it, I think it was reasonably priced. We did come for breakfast. Around this time it's not overly packed and we came on memorial weekend. As we headed out close to noon, lunch hour is where people will begin to pour in. We saw trains pass by periodically but it wasn't bothersome. I can't wait to come back.

What a cute place, and the staff was very friendly. We ordered the Caprese Burger, Cranberry Turkey Sandwich, and ice tea. Sandwiches were so tasty due to the breads being perfect, and the meat being fresh. Huge portions so we both took half our sandwiches home. Our server Joe was very attentive, and offered ice tea "to go" on our way out. Want to go back for sure.

The space is hidden and intimate, and once you're inside, it really does feel exclusive in the best way. It adds to the whole experience and makes it feel like a true escape. The food was fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and they were also accommodating with our dietary restrictions, which I really appreciated. Overall, such a fun and memorable night. Definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time -- it's a small space with only 30 spots and fills up quickly.

Because it's so cramped, every conversation echoes throughout the room, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the experience. The drinks were expensive and very small, and honestly didn't feel worth the price. The food was the same way. We ordered the scallops and the cheeseburger -- $36 for three scallops with rice and $26 for a mediocre burger and fries felt really overpriced for the quality and portion sizes. Unfortunately, the whole experience felt more like a rip-off than a special night out. I don't think I'd return, and I probably wouldn't recommend it to friends.

We attended a special Chartreuse tasting event at Strong Water which was being held in honor of…read moreChartreuse week and Chartreuse Day 1605 (May 16), the annual celebration of Chartreuse's origins and history. The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!
