First off, let me start by saying that I have been to this Culver's a lot. For the most part the food is good and everyone (up to this point) has been very kind and professional. The only thing I would have an issue with is them charging me for extra toppings and putting the same amount they would without asking. Last night, I went to Culver's to get a Concrete mixer. I got a female who took my order and then a male came on. He started screwing with me taking my order wrong on purpose and putting words in my mouth when I tried correcting him. During that time, I could hear him laughing about it!! (Which made me furious). I asked for a manager and went up to the window. I absolutely hate being screwed with especially when it's at a professional establishment where all they have to do is take my order.. and give me my food. I usually keep my cool but this time it just struck me so off guard. It's been a long time since I was treated with such blatant disrespect. I started cussing her out. Don't care. She asked me if I still wanted my Mixer. Nope. Who in their right mind would. If they are already treating the customer like this, with what little integrity they have, why wouldn't they do something to my food as well? So, I go back today and talk to the GM. I went in earlier to talk to him before the store opened so no other customer would be privy to the conversation. The same girl was there from last night and she told me he would be in at 11. I go in at 11 and tell him about the whole thing.. Dan comes out and they start scolding ME about cussing at the shift lead last night! That's when I got REALLY mad. No sir! You don't get to dictate to me how I respond to INTENTIONALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! They went on and on about the guy "Colton" or "Carter" and how he was the most awarded employee and how this is completely out of character for him. BS. If he did this.. to ANYONE.. Then all they are doing is giving him a slap on the wrist and enabling him to be this way to customers without repercussion. I read earlier about another customer's involvement with Dan. He was spot on. That is exactly how Dan is. He defended his employee and chastised the person who was upset that he got deliberately horrible customer service. We were looking for a local burger joint and this fit the description. We have 4 kids (9, 7, 5 and 10 mos) and they can be picky eaters. Burgers and dogs are always a winner in our house, so we thought we'd try this out vice a Five Guys. We were in from out of town and saw this place on Yelp. It was OK. Not being from here I wasn't sure if it is a local place because I've never heard of them before, but it was essentially fast food using the Chic Fil A model just with burgers. This place is just ok. The food is good. The service is good. But it's just like every other fast food place. I gave it 4 stars because they make your food to order. It takes a little bit longer and that's ok. The cheese curds are my favorite side item but they are really salty. REALLY SALTY! The custard is good. The flavors change daily and that's cool. Definitely my new favorite place. The burgers are fantastic. The fries are sublime. The staff is courteous, and in my opinion the prices are just right. You get what you pay for. This is higher end fast food. The produce on the burgers is fresh. The fries are 100% crispy, not stale at all (unlike dairy queen, which regardless of the time you go the fries are stale). The "custard" is the bomb. Hands down 10 x better than any blizzard I've ever had. I'm afraid dairy queen isn't long for this world. I think I could eat there every day of the week and have something new. And I'd be happy! read more

Every time we go to this Culver's, we are disappointed. Food is cold or order is incorrect. We went today and my husband ordered the standard banana split. It was brought to our table with nothing on it, just 3 scoops vanilla custard...... so back it went. They come back with it and there's no nuts on it. My husband ate it anyway. The custard is tasty so that's the only reason we return here. Management needs to help the workers do a better job. read more

I am a huge fan of a simple burger and fries:-) Culvers is your place if you feel the same. I forgot to mention Custard. Asheville has a few custard places. Culvers is the only one that includes food. Dinner and dessert?? YESSSSSS! I've had their burgers, chicken tenders, shrimp basket, and all were excellent. I have not tried their pot roast. As far as fast food places go, this is a five star establishment. The menu options are great and it's very clean. The design is also great. The fresh flowers were a very nice and classy touch, impressing. We had Mikal as our cashier and he was very friendly. A real breath of fresh air, wow! He had such a wonderful attitude which is very infectious. We had the southwestern chicken sandwich, the double deluxe burger, regular and sweet potatoes fries, Culver's root beer and a salted caramel with heath bits shake. Everything was great, really, no complaints. Very fresh tasting, perfectly cooked, flavorful and seasoned well. There were some reviews that said this was pricey, I disagree. $21 to have full, fresh, delicious meals like that and not be able to finish is pretty great. Visited Asheville for work and had to check out this place as I've never heard of it before. So glad I stopped in! I ordered a large raspberry milkshake through the drive up window. The shake was one of the best ever. First off the size of the shake, definitely feels like your getting your money's worth. Also the young lady at the drive up window was friendly and polite; a rarity these days! I highly recommend this place! Would love to see one of these places open up closer to home, it would be welcomed by all and put crappy franchises like Freddy's Steakburgers out of business! read more

Remember, Culvers is a fast food restaurant. Given its mission Id say they are one of the best. Food is individually prepared and plentiful. Service is a small cut below Chic-fil -a but way above all the other popular chains. Prices are reasonable and the facility is inviting. Be sure to order dessert. The custard is delicious. read more

When he discovered our youngest had peanut allergy, he carefully constructed a pint of frozen custard with fresh gloves and new serving spoons from a fresh batch of custard. This was my second time eating here and I loved it just as much as the first time. I had never ever heard of Culver's before they opened their Arden location but I stopped by to see what all the fuss was about. The fuss is about the burgers and the customer service. The burgers are made to order, unlike most other fast-food chains. They also do something to the insides of the buns to make them extra crispy on the inside but soft on the outside. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger and I got a double patty. It was fantastic! I would have never expected a fast-food burger to taste like that, it was steak-house quality! Delicious! The customer service reminded me of Chick-Fil-A; everyone was smiling and extremely polite and they actually bring your food to you after giving you a table number. I have not yet used the drive-thru because my experience eating inside has always been top notch. I will definitely be back soon! read more

Being originally from NYC, I have never heard of Culver's. When they started building it in Arden, NC, I didn't know what it was! I didn't know it was a franchise restaurant. I thought it was just another family restaurant that would feature bland tasteless food. Boy was I surprised! Culver's has the ability to be one of the top burger joints in Western Carolina!! Yum, finally a dependable fast casual burger! Culver's menu is a bit overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong here. The burgers are cooked to order, fresh and quite tasty. The bun is buttery, not a dry sesame cafeteria bun, but one that is just a little more special. I had their classic Culver burger and it was delish. Crinkle cut fries that are super crispy and hot. The secret here is simple. Hot food, fresh to order, good quality ingredients. My daughter had the grilled cheese kid's meal. At the end, you get a scoop of frozen custard when you turn in the coupon. It comes with one free topping, I think. All in all, I have been DYING for a place to take the place of The Habit, Smashburger or In N Out when I was on the West Coast. Culver's fits the bill. read more

Burgers are good and the ice cream (custard) even better. Unfortunately I would recommend driving through. The custard isn't the only tard around this jOint. Got solicited sitting at the curb to smoke a cigarette. Got the wrong order and took 15 minutes to figure it out from the person who took the order to the person that takes the money to the person that gives you the food. When I did enter to get a napkin and a spoon they neglected to put in bag, even after requesting them. I could feel eyes watching me. When I turned to see who was watching me, The entire family of tards quickly (not quick enough) tried to look busy. So I say "don't everyone look at the same time!" Thankfully the red faces of embarrassment was enough to know they at least felt ashamed not entitled to be starring. So then on my way out I foolishly stopped to use the bathroom and was promptly followed by staff. I said to the guy I use both hands but definitely don't need a third. After he pretended to clean the bathroom he started to exit when I called his attention to the two pieces of toilet paper on the floor he quickly came back snatch them up and exited, knowing full well he was not there to clean the bathroom. read more

Today drove 90 minutes round trip because they were offering the caramel cashew flavor of the day, my fav. I always get two burger meals, for about 20.00 (a little pricy) and then after get 4 containers to take home. Staff said if it wasn't in the cooler that holds some assortment of prepackaged custard, I couldn't get the flavor of the day, the caramel cashew, or the other one I wanted, plain vanilla which is always offered each and every day but was not in the cooler that holds about 24 assorted custards. Staff said, not in cooler, I can't buy, so I didn't buy anything more than my burgers. Emailed owner and he said staff said I wanted a different flavor, but they offered to make a container. That is a total fabrication by staff. I only wanted today's flavor, I only drove there for today's flavor. Apparently staff was trying to cover their behind in their screwup. Young boy at checkout asked a blond gal who might have been a bit higher up in staff she said no....., ....I've gone there since they opened and always for specific flavors of the day. Staff always made up containers, but not today, refused. I've had issues with sundaes I've ordered on the menu, even when it's written on the menu staff says it doesn't exist now and then even if one day I order successfully, next time, not. This was my last time going there. Too many other restaurants to go to that actually service you with the items on their menu. And want your business. read more

I'm a fan. I just came home from my first trip to Culvers. Double Butter Burger, no cheese, add tomato, lettuce, and ketchup... and Med. fries. The burger is outstanding. Fresh, meaty, filling, and none of the "meat-loafy" texture of many Fast Food places. I'm a low sodium diet gal, and Culvers is lower in sodium (via Google) than the nearby McDonalds. The one drawback at the drive-thru is lack of speed. I was given a number by well trained staff and told to park and wait. The burger was worth waiting for. I will return. Unfortunately, the fries were pretty bad although they did not have too much salt added- a bonus for me. The were overcooked to a too-dark brown and saturated in oil. It seems they may have been cooked in oil not quite hot enough and left to brown for too long. For whatever reason, they were crunchy, glistening in oil, and one bite revealed not a fluffy white potato center but a shiny oily mass. I was in a hurry, so I didn't ask for different fries. I'll return to Culver's but on the rare chance I may order fries, I'll check them before driving away. read more

I wasn't expecting much walking in because I'm not fond of fast food burgers but it was actually great! I went in at peak lunch time so they were busy but they got me my food quickly with fast service and they were very helpful figuring out what to put on my burger lol. The inside is nice and the bathrooms are also super nice and I was surprised. The actual food was great; not what I was expecting at all. The fries are crinkle cut but didn't have a whole lot of salt but they have salt and pepper on the table for you to add your own. I run a very busy company in Mills River 5 miles from our newly opened Culvers restaurant. We order lunch on Saturdays from the their for our sales team. We have done so 4 times now only to have the order given to us wrong. We then have to call up to talk to someone to let them know that they have it wrong again and then send a member of staff all the way up there to collect the food that we have paid for. This is ridiculous these days that with two staff checking the orders they cant get it wrong. Food is good, staff are friendly inside but DONT ORDER TAKE OUT. They simply cant get it right. So sad that we cant support a local business as they cant provide the customers with the orders that they pay for. Owners really need to look at this problem now. Update on review - Owner of company came by to apologize for mistakes and promises that they are working hard to improve drive through service. read more

Great family restaurant. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. You have to try the cheese curds they are amazing. My favorite is the Reuben sandwich. Very tasty! The rest of my family loves the burgers. They have a great selection for kids and they will put whatever they want on it, which is great for picky children. I also like the coupons that come on the kids food bag that let them get a free custard and have tickets you can save up for a free kids meal. The custard is delicious, very smooth and creamy. You can either get the custard flavor of the day or pick your ingredients to make your own concoction. I love the salted Carmel mixers ... very addictive! read more

I had a quick lunch last Wednesday. It consisted of 2 chicken tenders w/honey mustard, onion rings & a diet root beer. By 7 that evening I was feeling a little ill. By 10 that night I had full blown FOOD POISIONING !!! Thursday & Friday I puked my guts out every 1/2 HR. Literally thought I was dying ! My hubby checked the food poisoning list online & I had every symptom ! He had to stay home from work for 2 days to help me because I was so sick. Tried it opening day which was like a circus. The worst problem they have is that parking lot is way too small. It could be three times larger and still not enough room. The drive thru is routed thru the parking lot blocking people from getting out. The drive thru lane is very slow but they never promised to be a fast food place either. The food was great. I have tried the following and they have all been good. The butter double burger, the pork tenderloin, the pot roast sandwich (my favorite so far) the Reuben and the Wisconsin melt which is basically a patty melt. The custard was ok..I was not blown away by what I had which was the double strawberry. The biggest thing is that for what you get, it is way too expensive. Once the novelty has worn off I am not sure it will be a regular place for me. Again the food is good but for what you get and the portion sizes, I am not impressed enough to be a regular. read more

First time ordering here....I had ordered (through the drive through) a simple hamburger with ketchup and onions only. I wish I could share the picture of my burger. I got the "juice" ONLY from the ketchup bottle and 3 tiny onions. My husband went in to let the owner know. In the mean time, I walked in to show the employee what I received (my husband and Dan were about 12 feet from me talking), then I walked out (I was in there maybe 40 seconds) he accused me of being rude (via his email to me). My husband didn't even know that I walked in. He had my hamburger redone, and they still couldn't get it right, they put cheese on it. Total epic failure. The icing on the cake is the nasty email I received from Dan (the owner) that said I was rude to his manager etc. then brought up a golf course that we were members of for 4 1/2 years...not sure "why" (maybe a personal connection....not sure) and made his "email" very personable and rude, when he should have stuck to his values and to the point of the incident, (even though I have no idea of who he is or his intensions). This email will be shared to the right peeps, I will NEVER go there again. There are WAY TOO MANY OUTSTANDING restaurants in our area to go to.....NEVER... will I darken this door. read more
