Family of 5 . On our way from Cincinnati to St Louis stopped on a Monday 12:30 for lunch. Food was great : 3 kids meals ( grilled cheese, corn dog, chicken strips/ fries & applesauce ) my husband and I had deluxe cheese butter-burgers . Loved the food selection so everyone could pick something different . Kids enjoyed their ice cream with sprinkles after. Inside was clean and the gentleman who brought the food out was super friendly. Took 1 star off because of the service when placing the order , I had to repeat my order because the employee was not ready and I felt he got a little frustrated when I got mixed up with what part of the order he heard and what part he didn't. My wife and I were passing through Indianapolis and stopped at Culver's for dinner. The restaurant was clean and the staff was super friendly. A manager took our order and offered us free concretes in the flavor of the day. I had the Crispy chicken Club in a basket. we got our drinks and found a table. Our order came out only a few minutes later. The Crispy Chicken sandwich was hot and fresh and had great flavor. the fries were crispy and hot. my wife and I took the manager up on his offer and got the concrete of the day, the Andes mint concrete. Let's start with the ordering process...that went reasonably well. Pulled up to the window to pay right after another car had moved forward. Five employees standing around the drive up window just bullshitting and doing nothing else. Three of them look directly at me yet no one opens the window and takes my money. I pull past the window to get their attention and finally one of them acknowledges me and takes my money. Then I pull up and wait for another 10 minutes and I get my order. Onion rings were pretty good even though they were almost cold but the fish sandwich was another strike against them. Cold, oil soaked fish was very unsatisfactory and the rest of the sandwich looked like it was just thrown in the box . Completely not edible, borderline gross. It's always pretty busy during lunch time so I usually don't have time to stop, but it's a nice treat every once in a while. The staff are always friendly and I never have any problems with my order. Good service, great food but often messy tables! There's several different seating options inside and a few tables outside but they are always dirty, even if it's just salt and crumbs or a tray left behind. I've been here a couple times and thought the food was pretty good, just expensive for what you get. I always upgrade my meal to include cheese curds because you can't get them anywhere else but then over $10 later I just have a small drink, chicken sandwich, and cheese curds. Flight School drive and Kentucky Ave is one big FAT hairball. It's convenient for me because I live directly next door and I just walk over. Horrible location. You have to make a U-turn if you're on the wrong side of the street. The food was fresh and the service was friendly, but I've decided Culver's is just not for me. Their food is too pricey for what you get. I got the Chicken Strips this time; the chicken seemed packed instead of being fresh juicy pieces and the breading had no flavor. My inner fattie approves. Fried chicken and vanilla malted.....yummm. Since my flight got cancelled and I'm stuck here for an extra night I took a hotel room close to the airport. Culvers is right across the parking lot and I decided to check it out for dinner. The place itself reminds me of a bizarro version of Long John Silvers for fried chicken and burgers. It's all blue and white with the same color scheme and style of a fast food place like that, but it's more of a restaurant too as the counter people also bring your food over to your table after placing the order. Lots of seating and pretty clean. The menu is actually pretty big and features items like ButterBurgers, Fried Chicken, Sandwiches, Cheese Curds, Fresh Frozen Custard, Malteds, Salads, and more. Everything is fairly priced and actually kind of cheap. Two piece fried chicken dinner with a roll and two sides for $5.79 and a regular size vanilla malted for $2.39. The large chicken breast had a nice crispy outside to it and the meat was moist. The wing was a bit dry. The mashed potatoes and gravy were forgettable, but the dinner roll was soft and fluffy to dip into the the gravy. The green beans also had sliced onions in it and were ok. Overall, not a bad comfort food type quickie meal on a whim if you don't mind the extra calories. Now, the vanilla malted was something else! It was served with a straw and a long spoon in it as it's so thick the straw would collapse when I tried sucking the malted through it. I took a spoonful into my mouth and it tasted like a vanilla marshmallow fluff malted! So yum! Best part of the meal. Culvers is a family owned and operated business that is a nice change over the other fast food restaurants such as Denny's and KFC just down the road. The line was around the building, as usual. However, the wait wasn't very long, I'd says 10-12 minutes at the most. I didn't have to pull forward to wait for my order, which I greatly appreciated. The cashier was very friendly. She had on gloves and a mask, keeping herself safe. Presentation left a bit to be desired. My 10 year old said it tasted really good. We came here as a large group after an event and they were extremely accommodating and helpful with our large order. The service here is superior to other fast food places as their employees were bringing out food to our table and checked in on our group as well! They even told us to leave our trays/trash. We were super thankful for that type of service from a fast food place. The food was hot and delicious. I ordered the chicken tenders and the honey mustard dipping sauce was great. The crinkle cut fries are crispy and fried to perfection. However, let's be honest, we came for the custard! Their flavor of the day was the Brownie Batter Explosion and it was so delicious. Chewy chunks of brownies mixed with their smooth and soft custard. I haven't had Culvers in over 3 years and didn't realize how much I missed it! That was a good PR move for Culver's to decide to call their hamburgers "butterburgers." Something about that name makes it taste even more delicious. Anything with the word "butter" in it beats anything without the word butter in it. Needless to say, Culver's butterburgers are amazing! Total wait time after saying I was here was another 20min, the kid handed me an order that wasn't mine, went inside came back out with nothing in his hand and asked me my name. Plainfield, IN Culver's is The Eatery to Avoid! Early 2022 we encountered an incompetent new group of employees. #1 visit 2022 we were overcharged & realized it when we got home with takeout order! Next visit, signs up on bathroom doors said bathrooms were off limits, except women's bathroom could be used only to wash hands! At this visit, not bright young man left item off first order & when our friends arrived, they needed to drive around to seek a bathroom. When they got back, an item was left over the second order! Next visit: charged for expensive sundae which was left out of the order. (Again!) 8/8 at 8:14 p.m. Nauseatingly Extra Salty Butter Burgers (2). They are getting a little pricey, but so are many other places At some of the locations, especially the new one in the Garfield Park Dash Beech Grove area, the kids are clueless it take your orders. If you're really craving a quick burger, this is not the first place that would come to mind. If you're looking for ice cream (excuse me....custard), this is not the first place that would come to mind. However, if you're looking for a place that offers fast food burgers and custard, then this is one of the few places that can do it. Average burgers and average custard. This isn't a criticism of this particular location, but of all Culver's in general...$1.20 extra for nuts on a sundae, but the candy toppings are free? Fast, friendly, and efficient. They always greet you at the door, which is nice. The food and the ice cream treats are made to order. I had a burger on sourdough bread. I thought the bread had a slightly odd taste to it, even for sourdough. But my burger was good. For dessert, I got a concrete mixer made with the flavor of the day (S'mores), Oreos, and caramel. Decided to visit them on my lunch break and it was a waste of time. They didn't have the flavor of the day and when ask about other options I was only told chocolate or vanilla. The drive-through staff at this location does not know how to listen to customers. I go through 3 to 4 times a month and order french fries and a drink. I ask for salt and barbecue sauce to be placed in my bag when they bring it to me, since they have us pull forward. Every time, I either have to go without one of my two condiments or get out and go inside and get it myself. Today I refused to move assuming it would be done incorrect again. The shift supervisor gave me my bag and, of course, once again it was incorrect. I was giving barbecue sauce and Ketchup. This location is near my work and I go there every week or so; I would say that this location is fairly good for certain options. Typically sandwiches and fries/curds are fresh, but about 50% of the time, my soup is lukewarm (always chicken noodle soup) and the chicken has an off color. As always Culvers is the best chain burger joint on the planet. It is not cheap but it is really good. It is the only fast-food restaurant my wife actually asks to go to. She can get a gluten-free bun which is very important to her. She also gets cole slaw and always enjoys it.
