Wow! I don't know where to start this one! First of all, I am so happy to have a Culvers here! I always wait patiently for lent season, since that means one thing on the menu "Walleye" I am Catholic, and observe Fridays as no meat days, through the year. So that means it fish Fridays for me! Well after calling the store yesterday, their beloved Walleye arrived for the lent season. Needles to say, I planned my day around getting a Walleye dinner. In the past it has always been exceptional. Cooked perfectly and delicious. Well, that was not the case this time. I ordered the 3 piece Walleye dinner, so I make it a 2 day meal. First red Flagg, was the increase in price. It really jumped, but I wanted my Walleye. I wait all year long for this, and I bit the bullet and took it home for a feast. I live 20 miles out of town, so I put the pedal to the medal, so it would still be hot. Well, when I opened it up, There were 3 pieces of fish. One large on and 2 very small ones. I guess I should have gotten the 2 piece dinner instead. Being a senior citizen of a very fixed income, that will be the last time I would order the 3 piece dinner. I will stick with the 2 piece or just have the sandwich. The other issue was how it was cooked. It was very greasy, and the filets themselves were not really as thick as they use to be! My question is, did the tariffs have something to due with the huge price increase, and the smaller portions. I believe Culvers gets Walleye from Canada. We see on the internet all the time about fast food chains increasing prices and cutting portion size. I am not giving up on my beloved Walleye. I love Culver's and I wish we had one in Las Vegas.. my first visit was at a location in Michigan; and that's where I fell in love with these burgers! So we took a little trip to Kingman for the weekend and we had to stop in for a burger. The burger arrived at our table in a timely manner and it was hot & fresh and seasoned well; unfortunately the cheese was slapped on cold and not melted.. you gotta have that super melty cheese it's a whole different textural experience. Ive been coming here for the past 3 years or so. Had a buddy with me today. Restaurant is very clean as always. He said he had been to culvers once. The person at the counter was very helpful and patient as my friend wasnt familiar with the menu. He opted for the roast beef or pork sandwich. I got a build your own burger with fries. He liked his meal. My burger had that signature buttery taste. Wasn't hip on the long cooked onions. I think they are usually diced. Fighting with those I eventually just took them out. Stopped by here on the way from Grand Canyon and when we arrived place was a bit busy, but food was prepared pretty quick, they do bring food to your table, so that was a nice touch. Burgers were good, fries wasn't impressed with at all but the concrete mixers( ice cream) were pretty good. Got a heath toffee and peach mix ins. One thing we didn't like was people at the neighboring booth had a very yappy dog that was barking non stop. Was very annoying. Wish we had Culver's in California! Passing through Arizona so I had stop by and try some items! So happy that I did! I wasn't too hungry when I was passing through so I decided to grab a snack and dessert. Orderd up the white cheddar curds for my snack and these bad boys were a 10/10! Great cheese and batter with a solid fry on them. Then went with a small vanilla custard and that also was a 10/10! The best part is how thick the custard is here. Always a great butterburger and cod sandwhich at Culver's. Their food is always good. I like that with the burgers, you have a choice of what vegetable goes in. The guy serving me here didn't let me choose. He just told me to get the Deluxe with everything including cheese. My wife like the cod sandwich. She says that Culver's makes the best fish sandwich out of all the chain restaurants. It's a good place. Culver's are normally crowded whenever I visit. This one is no different. Five stars for the wonderful lady who took my frozen custard order at the register and comped it. I mean, who does that? I had already eaten dinner earlier and just wanted something little and easy. And since I was at the Cracker Barrel next door parked for the night, this was easy. Let me just say the onion rings were terrible. The grease in the vats needed to be changed. I was there to pickup some fish & chips for my husband. Since we had not been there in the last couple of months we have noticed some other changes. My husband was not happy with the shrinking fish portions and the lack of fries. He felt the whole serving had shrunk.I was also surprised that the fish was noticeably smaller. But those onion rings I loved in the past are my biggest disappointment yet. Not too shabby for a fast food spot. This was my first time visiting this Kingman fan-favorite. Culver's is an Arizona drive through gem that serves up burgers, chicken sandwiches, and milkshakes. I was pretty overwhelmed by their expansive menu, so I figured I couldn't go wrong ordering their claim to fame - with a veggie twist. My order consisted of the veggie burger meal stacked with ketchup, pickles, mayo, onion and tomato. This also came with a side of fries and a sweet tea. I had heard a lot of people from the Midwest tell me they love this place but I had never tried it before until today and I've got to say It's a very very good chain burger place. I was super impressed. The fries did nothing for me but the burger was one of the best fast food burgers I've ever had so full of flavor with a great crust and a good size burger for around $10 a meal. Very very impressed. This is the first time I have eaten at a Culver's and I must say they have a very big menu. I got the buttery cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, fried onions, mustard, mayo, and ketchup. They forgot to put mayo or ketchup on my burger but it was still great. The burger was thin but the bun was amazing! I typically don't like the bun but this bun was heavenly light and fresh! Always great friendly service and the food is always made to order. I'm privy to a good butter burger (Mushroom Swiss is my go-to), however this last trip we got the Fish and Chips. Great fish and amazing Cole Slaw! Of course, the Pumpkin Custard deliciously evil "shake" is a MUST DO! The ice cream they have made fresh in small batches is bomb. Culverts is absolutely my favorite fast food restaurant. Their hamburgers taste fresh and homemade. The fish and the shrimp are great. I have never had better fish sandwiches in any fast food place. Was looking for a good quick place to have a late lunch while passing through Kingman on the way to Vegas. We initially looked into another burger place, but saw they were closed when we got there. So I looked on Yelp and saw that reviews for this place were good too. Very happy we came here! The food was delicious and uncommon to where we live. I'm talking cheese curds and frozen custard treats! Yum! We've been traveling all week, so we were looking for something other than burgers and Mexican food. The Cranberry Bacon Bleu Salad and deep fried Walleye fish dinner were delicious! The kids loved the jumbo shrimp and their kids meal corn dog, as well. I ordered a 3 piece fish and chips. That is all I wanted. The cashier told me I had to order the meal to get the 3 piece. I told him I don't want fries or cole slaw. I don't eat either one. He told me it was the only way it came. But I could order all fries or cole slaw if I wanted. I asked about substituting a drink instead. Nope. Can't do that. So I had to pay an extra $3.00 for a drink. The fish was very good. I don't know about the fries or slaw because I threw them away. Each summer, when we go out road tripping, we always stop at a few Culver's locations along the way. The novelty of frozen custard is something my kids like, and I've never been one to turn my nose up at dessert. This was our last fast food stop of a 9000 mile road trip... For the purposes of writing a review, I would love to tell you it was the best stop of our trip. Well, it wasn't. But it is fast food, just off I-40, in a city that, unless you live here, it's probably best known as a place you... Stop for fast food. So we temper our expectations, and make the best of it. And for the most part, Culver's is a pretty good spot. One thing you learn eating here is that you need to specify what you'd like on your burger; if you want lettuce tomato and pickles, you sort of have to ask for it. Pro tip: unless there's things you really don't like, just tell them you want everything on it, and they will put everything on it. Funny how that works. Can't go wrong with an order of fried cheese curds, and a trip to the self-service ketchup dispenser. Kids menus have a little coupon tear off the bag that it comes in, which is redeemable for a small cup of frozen custard. That's worth noting if your kids want dessert. This was a better spot than Manny to stop the truck and trailer, stretch our legs, and have one last fast food sit down together before putting our camper trailer back in the driveway at our home. Like I said, we always manage to stop at a few culvers restaurants on our trips, and will certainly visit this one again. As others have mentioned, the service is always good, which is to say they're pretty friendly from the time you order, until the time they drop off your food at your table.
