My wife and I have been visiting Culvers in Hamburg, KY for years and have always loved the ice cream. Well, tonight we visited and the cashier mistakenly rung my wife up for the wrong order. No big deal...mistakes happen. However, when we received the order, we told another young lady (Ciera) about the error. She smirked, handed us the receipt and walked off. We love Culver's and get it regularly at the Richmond location, because my daughter loves to come here for the custard. But here, the manager literally wouldn't allow me to pay for a single cherry on my daughter's custard, because a second topping "wasn't allowed", even though I was trying to pay for it. Apparently the value of a single cherry or sticking to the policy handbook is greater than customer satisfaction and my 3 year old being happy with her custard. This Culver's location should really consider being a little more lenient with "policy". read more

So this isn't the healthiest option in town, but if you are going to a burger place that's probably not what you are looking for. It does have healthy options like salads and soups, and the classic fast food choices as well. They also have a good fish sandwich, pot roast, and fried cheese curds that are delicious. I gave three stars even though I love their burgers and their chicken strips. They are entirely over priced. It cost me 15 dollars for a kids meal and chicken basket. That is a little insane. The food is good but it's not THAT good. The mashed potatoes have zero seasoning and they don't give you any or offer any butter or salt or pepper. And they aren't even mixed well anytime I've gotten them. Weird and lumpy. The kids meal was almost 6 dollars. And didn't even come with a toy. The chicken basket I get because I do like the chicken but it's like 8.57 which is extremely high for four pieces of chicken and frys. Canes gives you chicken fries bread and coleslaw for that price. Their frozen custard is good but also extremely over priced. I'm not sure why everything here is so high. It's not a fancy restaurant. It's more expensive to take my family here than to go out to a sit down place. I wouldn't even come here but it's the only place close to me that has good chicken tenders ‍ read more

The food was very good but we went through the drive thru and the order was not right. Just one of the burgers was wrong but it was one of those things where is was really wrong. It should have been pickles only for the pickiest eater ever. I was able to trick her into eating two bottom buns and I kept her top which had the dressing and we just picked the other items off. Culver's is by far the best fast food there is. I grew up on it, being from Wisconsin, and I just love how fresh the food always is. Butterburgers, cheese curds, mashed potatoes & gravy, french fries, fried fish, banana shakes... It is all so delicious, I couldn't say enough good things. read more

I have been to this location before. Like a lot. Culver's never gets old the chicken tinders here are absolutely AMAZING! They are always quick bringing out crazy awesome food. When we lived in Wisconsin, we had a Culver's right across the street from our apartment. Being a poor graduate student, I ate entirely too much fast food. Culver's has great quality for fast food. I love their onion rings and chicken strips. This one continues in that vein, plus, when I bring my dog, they often have treats ready at the window for him, so bonus points. If you're looking for something that tastes less like cardboard and more like food than your typical fast food establishment, this is a good start. read more

Fast, friendly and clean. Everything I've ordered is hot & tasty. My favorite custard is vanilla with raspberries. Daily specials are posted and kids get a free scoop with a purchase of a kids meal. If I have to do fast food this is where I want to go because it's fast food done correctly. For one their product actually looks like it is pictured on the menu and the ingredients always taste fresh. As for me I always enjoy the culver bacon deluxe as it reminds me of the diner burgers from my childhood. The staff is always extremely friendly and courteous. And the restaurant is always impeccably clean, in fact I can't think of a single negative thing to say Cuddos Culvers for always delivering as expected and I'll be back to see you every time I'm craving a real diner style burger. read more

I love this place. They have a great burger, one of the best in town, and great custard icecreams. The burger - they are delicious, very greasy, and very thin, maybe 1/4 inch, so I would recommend getting at least two patties to get the right ratio of bread, meat, and veggies. The icecream is great - blended like a blizzard. It is quite expensive - over $4 for a medium, but you get a choice of two toppings - including blueberries, and various candies. It tastes richer than most blended icecream desserts you can get. Worst place to work. I've worked in many fast food places in Kentucky and Florida, and never have I experienced such miscommunication between management and the management holds their titles above your head, very clearly. A trainer will teach you one thing, and then the next guy you have training you will tell you that the way you're doing it is wrong, and that you should do it another way. This happened multiple times and I was sent home because of the perception of one manager who saw my frustration, which was caused by a rush and the heat from the grill, along with outside personal issues, and instead of asking me if I needed to step out for a minute, or even talk about it, he simply told me to leave, and when I asked him about it later on once he had time to speak with me, he would only talk in the middle of the restaurant, and his response to every question I asked him about why he sent me home and what I did was "you got aggravated and slammed stuff", which in my defense, sometimes the spatulas can sound pretty loud even if you're not slamming the grill with them. I stayed to speak with the manager, who's name is Matt Clement, to hear what he had to say and try to work out what needed to be worked out. I needed to express my concerns and let him know my side of things and why I got frustrated, but he made his mind up pretty quickly. I've gotten frustrated at previous jobs, and their approach has always been for their care for me. The way Matt spoke to me showed he obviously doesn't care for me. The last thing I'll say is that one manager told me to place all the tea urns in one spot, and then the next morning another manager sent out a text saying "never to do that, it'll ruin them." Thats an example of the miscommunication that goes on here. Anyway, that's my experience working at this Culver's. read more

I confess, I'm a Culver's loyalist. When I lived in Michigan, we had one not far from our house, and far fewer options than we have in Lexington for places to eat. It became a favorite, and really my go-to place for a burger. When we moved, here, I was very happy that they had restaurants in Lex. I love that their food is always cooked fresh, like Steak N Shake in that regard. In fact, after I found Steak N Shake too busy last night, Friday around 9:30, I went over to Culver's. Got my stand-by Culver's Deluxe w/ cheese and Onion Rings. They have Pepsi products and Dr. Pepper. I always get a Dr. Pepper. Anyway, my daughter got the chicken tenders, and onion rings, and their chicken tenders are very unique. The coating is different, and lighter than other places, like Cane's for example, which I like, but nowhere near as much as these. Also, their tenders are always the MOST tender and juicy of any chicken I get anywhere. I'll vote Culver's Tenders as top of the heap in my opinion. The onion rings are also unique. Thin cut rings with a light batter, very crispy. Love them. Also pretty much addicted to their fried cheese curds. Their frozen custard is exceptional, rotating a flavor of the day every day, along with the always available vanilla. The Caramel Cashew Sundae is delicious. Also glad their pumpkin spice shake is back....a yearly favorite, though I know not everyone likes the whole pumpkin spice fad. My burger last night was great as usual, with red onion, lettuce, tomato, cheese, mayo, and ketchup. I got a single, though I think most get a double. The single was enough. Now Culver's is a little more pricey than Steak N Shake, which is it's one drawback, but it's not so expensive that I avoid it, especially considering the quality. Service is always consistently good at this location, too. As it was at my Culver's in Michigan. It seems they have a good corporate culture when it comes to service. When you order at the drive thru, you pay, and they give you a number and have you pull forward to wait while they cook your food. It's never a very long wait, but you have to wait a bit for fresh food, and I can appreciate that. Recommend Culver's as much as anywhere. read more

Have given the Culver's in Hamburg several tries also. Mixed feelings. They are not a fast food place, but yet, the atmosphere is definitely fast food. First few times I went, I ordered fried chicken - they never had any ready - and they didn't say it like, we can have that in x minutes, it was like, we don't have any ready, you don't wanna wait, do ya? I mean nothing there is really fast, they are cooking it, which hopefully makes it taste better and fresher. But they never have fried chicken anywhere near ready. Once they even gave me a free coupon because they not only didn't have any fried, but didn't have anything besides drumsticks. Which is even more funny because the first two times I went back to use the coupon for chicken, of course, they didn't have any 'ready'. I gave up on the chicken and tried the cod at the recommendation of the kid at the counter. It was served piping hot, and was pretty good for fried cod - I'd say better than LJS or Cap't Ds. The fries were fine - the think crinkle cut. The slaw was pretty good too - not the finely pureed stuff you get at KFC, chunky and not too sweet. They serve Pepsi tho, so was going to try the tea - they only had Sweet, and I asked about unSweet and was told, it's not ready, won't be ready for a while - in other words, don't wait. So I bought a drink but nothing I wanted. So, in my opinion, this place looks like a fast food joint - not always clean, wait on yourself, take a number, but it's priced higher than fast food and you never get your food fast. They have struck out on having chicken. I must say tho, I can't drive through Hamburg without asking my rider to tell me what flavor the marquee says is flavor of the day. I only like two, and when they have them - I will sit in the drive thru for however long it takes them to get me 'slow food'. Chocolate covered strawberries, and S'mores. Yum. read more

The first time I ever went to culvers I got a hamburger basket with onion rings. It was fantastic. My friend and I were talking about what we would get as we were in line to order and it was obvious we had never eaten here. After our meal, the manager came up and gave us each a scoop of the flavor of the day and invited us to come back. I was amazed at this customer service especially for a fast food restaurant. The next time I came back I only ordered milkshakes and waited quietly for around 10 minutes. I finally had to go up and request the shakes again which the staff accidentally thought had been made. The manager personally came up to me to apologize for the mistake and game me a coupon for my next meal free. I don't feel like this kind of respect and genuine kindness is typically at regular fast food establishments. This behavior and the fact that the food is really good keeps me coming back despite the higher price range. read more
