TL;DR Order what you know is good, and don't expect to be given good recommendations. Honorable mention: The young man who delivered our meal deserves a raise. He was welcoming even to the only Asians who dined in on Good Friday. Ambiance BUSY! There was a line for drive thru so we opted to dine in. There was still a line, but it gave me enough time to check out the whole menu without being rushed. The seating area was nearly full, which tells me Fridays are generally a busy night. The table we chose was clean, as the general area towards the far end of the restaurant seemed to be maintained well. The condiments and drink area were admirably kept in order. Service Maybe I'm old, or maybe I came from a state where manners are forgotten, but I thought it was customary to greet and welcome patrons as they come up to order their food. Maybe "J" was exhausted and assumed our familiarity to fast food ordering, or maybe she was in shock to see two out-of-place customers who regretably greeted her first. I must say, she would be a fine executive someday considering she sold me on the pot roast sandwich on a Friday, plus she didn't think of the potential satisfactory experience we thought to have. (Culver's culture is foreign to transplanted Californians, and it's unfortunate to have this interaction as part of our first dine-in experience.) The pot roast sandwich was incredibly dry- regardless of J's suggestion to pair it with BBQ sauce. Just lifting the bun and seeing the pile of beef I could tell that roast must've been around the last two Sundays. My husband said the deluxe burger had a dry bun and the patty was overdone and hard. The fries were great - crispy, hot, and enough to share. Overall stars: 2 I'm unsure if I want to try anything else except for the cod for me and the butter burger for my husband. I'm unsure if I want to ever dine in at Culver's again. I do know to sit furthest from the front door and to order the fries. I was highly impressed with this location. We had a large order... 8 different entrees (2 were kids meals), sides, sauces, etc. In the past we have always been missing something from other fast food joints... so I was nervous about this one. They were very good about getting our order, showing me which bag held the sauces and making sure we had the kid's meal drinks. Cafe was clean but the portion sizes have reduced considerably. Paid $20 for a Fish dinner that included 2 sides. Bread bun was not soft. Coleslaw was rather mushy and didn't seem fresh. My husband and I use to love going to this Culvers . We had the worst experience I have ever had in a fast food restaurant. Normally your greeted when you come in and it always was a friendly place . Not this time . It was on July 2nd at 7:00pm . Dinner rush was pretty much over. We ordered the fish and an extra onion ring. These onion rings were so old and and fried two or three times . I took them up to the counter and I was very nice , I told them that these don't look right. She took them from me and gave them to a manager and the girl took them and smashed them into the silver container . NEVER looking at me and gave the waitress another one and it looked the same way. I thought this was only in Wisconsin. Surprised to find it in Phoenix near the 17 fwy on our way north. The staff was so friendly, it was outstanding. They are known for butter burger and that's what we ordered. You can customize it with the items and condiments you want. I got fresh onion and it was a red onion, a plus. There are also so many sauces to choose from, which cost $0.35 each in addition to one that comes with fries or onion rings. The onion rings are perfection! This new fad with being able to scan a QR code and order from your table is a good concept in theory but when the computer is at the front lines do not even get your order there is a serious problem. I credit the fact that Culver's does have some decent food and a variety of items. However, they did not even get my order for 15 minutes after I sent it in through their mobile app at table service with the QR code. Then I get my order and the ice cream that I ordered is practically melted it's like soup. I'll give some credit for the salad I got for dinner because the strawberries in the grilled chicken were pretty decent but I'm starving serious challenges with ruffage since my gastric procedure. I went here yesterday and i used to go there a lot when they first opened. The fish was so bad i couldn't finish it , the French fries were small in size and over cooked and hard, i went there around 4 pm , my butter for my roll was to cold to spread on the part of my rool i could eat because the fish was so greasy there was a puddle of grease on my plate and they put my roll in it and ruined it , the prices went up BUT THE QUALITY went DOWN ! As far as fast food places go, Culver's is among my top picks in terms of both quality and variety. We were looking forward to a hearty meal after coming back from a two-day backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon, and the allure of chicken tenders and custard was too good to pass up. We had a BOGO value basket coupon, so we ordered both the veggie burger and a four-piece tender. We also upgraded one of the sides to the cheese curds, which apparently are a must-get here. I enjoyed the tenders with marinara sauce, which reminded me of a fast-food chicken parm. The tenders were meaty and crispy, without being too oily. The fries were a bit too large and not crispy enough for my taste, but they weren't bad. The desserts here are unreal. There are a ton of different options for creamy, cold desserts, from their concrete, which is akin to a McFlurry, to a custard, to a root beer float. Their base ice cream is creamy and sweet, and all of the add in options are almost overwhelming. We got a concrete with cookie dough and brownie mixed in, and this was enough for all five of us to share. We also got the chocolate custard and filled out a receipt survey for a free additional custard, so we got to try the berry custard as well. Have tried a few things on their menu since I have heard about decent food here. I do not believe this to be the case; Fries are simply average. the butter burger is really not good, and the fish sandwich is ok. The butter burger is not as good as a McD Double Cheeseburger by any means and well short of a BK Whopper. Lacking taste and quality all the way. The Fish Sandwich was comprised of tasty cod but the breading and sandwich fixings were extremely lacking here. Fries tase just like any joint in Chicago.
