This location of Culver's is the best one in the area. Always busy, that being said, a lot of the tables needed cleaning. Although the place overall is very clean. I got the fried shrimp. They are pounded out & breaded just right. Not greasy. Also cheese curds are always good. Sometimes they aren't as melted, more solid cheese. French fries are the crinkle kind. Always good. I also love the fish dinner. Coleslaw is so good. My husband enjoys the burgers. The veggie burger is house made with quinoa. Not black bean based. It's really unique & delicious. Yes, I understand. Call birds is a fast food restaurant no matter what Culver's I've ever been to. I am always greeted by smiling faces, friendly people, etc.. The W. Lincoln Highway, Culvers in Schererville is simply great. I've never really had anything bad here except for the macaroni and cheese, which does not look like the commercial at all other than that I tend to have the cod dinner and then is always spot on crunchy outside piping hot fish on the inside Whether I have onion rings or french fries and of course, the delicious Culver's root beer oh my my mouth is watering just thinking about it now and I'm definitely gonna head over there after Dialysis to have some fish. If I have a smaller appetite, I always opt for the kids meal for less than seven dollars. Not our usual Culver's, but was in the area and we were hungry, stopped into Culver's. Like our own location, the place was busy, though I have to say there were smiles on the employees' faces who were very patient with our order. Hubby ordered the Value Basket with deluxe condiments, fries and a drink, and I ordered the Chicken Cashew Salad. Hubby's burger must have missed the deluxe condiments; he found it a bit dry, and went looking for mayo and catsup. Chicken salads are usually heavy with lettuce, but the ratio of lettuce to generous portions of chicken and cashews was pretty sweet, along with the Raspberry vinaigrette and I thoroughly enjoyed. Then, one of the staff came around with samples of their flavor of the day, ice cream sundae? Strawberries and chocolate. He loved it--and saved it his meal. He shared a little, perfect for me. I was at Culver's recently. I drove up and ordered a single burger value basket meal. The order menu reflected of what I ordered. Once I pay I'm directed to line A. The young man (he was very polite and did his job well) brought out my bag of food and repeated it back and said, "Double burger meal....." I said, "No, I didn't order a double, I ordered a single." This wasn't just a simple mistake or a new employee. This is a constant issue at the Schererville location. Anytime I order a single, they take that as in saying a double. Maybe to some people this isn't a big issue. But I didn't want a double and I didn't want to pay for a double. My family always has this issue anytime we come to Culver's. I called Culver's while sitting in the line when the young man went in to try get my order resolved. I ended speaking with Kayla the manager. She mentioned they are following "protocol". I don't understand how "protocol" is to assume everything is a double burger. Kayla then said she could get me my money back or give me a coupon for a free value basket meal. I mean, honestly they should've just done both. I offered to give my card back to the young man to take inside, then when he brings me out my meal, he brings me cash, which is not his fault. I again was very concerned why I paid with my card and they gave me cash back when I offered my card. I'm just frustrated with the Schererville location. This place needs to figure out what people are saying and listen to them and not assume every value basket meal someone is ordering is a double burger . Culver's is my favorite fast food place! I love coming to this location because they usually get you your order pretty fast. Can be slightly slower during peak lunch rush. The workers are also pretty friendly. The food is always delicious and fresh. My go-tos are: cheese butterburger, fries, and a coke. But their cheese curds are also pretty good. read more

We are regulars at the Culver's...almost once a week since they opened. The employees are nice and the food is very good, but it's to the point that whenever we order, almost 50% of the time something is missing or incorrect from the order. This time we ordered a 3pc fish platter and received only 2 fish. We go there because my elderly, sick father loves the fish as his weekly treat from dialysis, therapy and hospital stays. However it's now to the point that it's not worth the trip. I called the restaurant about this order and they said they were putting some coupons in the mail for us and that the General Manager would call me the next day....neither of those happened. Culver's is fast food that thinks it's better than fast food so it charges more than fast food and leaves you feeling disappointed because you ate overpriced fast food. I'm not gonna say it's not tasty, but it definitely leaves you feeling heavy because of all the grease and salt. If I had my high school metabolism, I'd probably be here a lot more often, but time and experience has unfortunately made me more health conscientious. Was excited to see the walleye fish back. Ordered two walleye fish sandwiches and a medium root beer drink for a grand total of $19.76. Unfortunately, the fish sandwiches were sooooo greasy they were inedible!!! I literally threw them in the garbage. Not to mention that when surveying the level of grease on the sandwich, there was literally so little tarter sauce that you could barely find it. Both times my husband and I had gotten concrete mixers after our meals and both times it took over 15 minutes just to get them. Lobby was next to empty each time we came and they messed up my orders as well. I just wanted to take a minute to thank Tyler, working tonight at the drive through. We have so much hate and are divided but that didn't stop Tyler form making such a kind gesture!!!! I live just a few hundred yards from this location and probably stop in once a week. This is due to the best service around and how fresh the food is. I hope Tyler is ok with me saying his name, but just being a good HUMAN deserves to be acknowledged. I hope someone will see this and decide to stop and grab Culver's over the many options we have throughout Lake County. I will make it a point tomorrow to pay if forward in honor of this young man!! Three or four times a year I travel to Northwest Indiana on business, and I always stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Schererville. With all the great local food options in NW Indiana and Chicagoland, I must admit that I manage to eat at Culver's as least once on the trip. Why not? They are close - a 30 second walk - and have pretty good food. On those winter trips when it's dark when I return to the hotel and don't feel like going out again, it's an easy trip. The burgers have a pretty good flavor, particularly a double burger. Some butter burger places have more authentic offerings, but Culver's burgers are tasty enough. The frozen fries aren't bad either. What helps complete the meal is the ice cream, like a concrete. Not all the food is worth eating. The breaded pork tenderloin sandwich is far from authentic and has an unpleasantly salty and prepackaged flavor. Once was more than enough. The fish dinner was also remarkably low in flavor. The key lesson here: stick to the burgers and ice cream, and you will have an enjoyable meal. I wouldn't eat here every night because it would become monotonous, but I would feel as though I missed something if I skipped a visit during a trip. read more

I frequent the drive-through once or twice a month. Overall satisfied just two requests for management 1. Could you guys add a sticker/sign on the menu for the $1 up-charge on nuts as mix-ins. I order pecans every time. Every time I am told that it's extra and every time I have to say "it's ok that it's extra". This just seems like an easy fix. It's also confusing for new customers when they see that they get to pick 2 mix-ins, order nuts and then hear that nuts are extra, i.e. does that still count as one of my 2 mix-ins if I'm already paying for it? (for anyone reading this, no it doesn't. It's 2 non-nuts mix-ins plus $1 for nuts, if desired). 2. I always order create-your-own sundaes. I would prefer the ingredients mixed-in but the concrete mixers always comes out soupy/melted in consistency. It's ironic considering the name has the word "concrete" which implies it's thickened with the mixing process like a DQ blizzard. This isn't an off-day thing for the machine as I've gotten soupy mixers here over a span of several years/different times of year. She then proceeded to ask if I wanted a double.NO! Then she asked if I wanted the delux. YES! With Cheese. NO! The basket. YES! I got a double delux with cheese. Of course I got charged for it. But they don't give you a reciept unless you ask for it, so I didn't find out until I got my food. They must get a tax credit for hiring the window lickers off of the short bus. read more
