I've heard of Culvers for years and finally had the chance to try it out. I stopped by near closing time and went to the drive-thru. I only ordered two items, and they were both delightful treats :) I got a large order of cheese curds that came out piping hot and with a few cups of fry sauce. The cheese curds are oval in shape and not all uniform, which mixes things up and makes them not so boring. Although I was eating in the dark for the most part, I realized that some of the cheese curds contain yellow/orange cheddar cheese and some white! Really mixing things up here. I'd say these are amongst the best fast food cheese curds I've ever had - a lot of cheese, not too much batter. I highly recommend them! I also ordered a large huckleberry cobbler concrete shake upon recommendation at the drive-thru. I felt like I was really having a huckleberry pie mixed with vanilla ice cream in a cup! Everything was nicely blended together, and the best part was definitely digging up the scattered chunks of sweet granola. They didn't skimp on the granola or berries at all. Culvers offers hamburger cravers yet another option or alternative to the growing number of burger joints in the salt lake valley. I do like their butter burgers here. The meat is juicy and you can really taste the beef flavor. For me that is the first thing that grabs my attention. Buns can also make the difference and of course the accompanying condiments that follow. My favorite so far is their mushroom swiss. Its simple yet so tasty. The fried chicken sandwich is okay. We loved eating at this Culver's. Their staff was extremely friendly and the service was faster than expected. We ordered quite a bit of food and I was surprised it was brought to our table so quickly. Sometimes I'm critical of the cleanliness of fast food chains, but this location was spotless when we went in - no spills or sticky floors by the soda fountain! Their kid's high chairs also all had a small packet of crackers, a wetnap, and a plastic bib sitting on the seat - a touch we really appreciate as parents of a 15 month old. Our food was really fresh and delicious. I took a gamble and swapped out fries for the green beans and didn't regret my decision, although be weary if you despise onions (which I do not). The "concrete mixers" were really good in flavor, but a bit runnier than I'd expected. I actually had to get a straw about half way through my raspberry one. Only eat here if you eaten at every place besides here. The only reason I say this is because last time I got a shredded beef burger and mash potatoes and gravy and they were mid. The meat in the burger itself was dry but the taste made up for the dryness. The Mash potatoes and gravy looked absolutely horrible. It looked as if I haven't made an oil change in years to my car. The gravy tasted disgusting and ruined the mash potatoes. I only rate this 3 stars because the employees seemed nice and were pretty quick with the order. Also I do not recommend paying for any of their merchandise as I would rather spend that money at Walmart and make my own meal for half the price and even buy a cool lightsaber than buy that lame merch. read more

This is now officially my favorite fast food place! I know they are famous for their frozen custard, but guess what? Their Atlantic cod fish strips and fish sandwich are also amazing! They are so fresh and well cooked, and they taste like the fish was caught just an hour ago! The fish and chips come with tartar sauce that makes you forget they come from a fast food restaurant. Also they have best service I have ever received at a fast food place. Con: there was one time I ordered fish and chips but they forgot about my tartar sauce. The guy who took my about $60 extremely long and complicated order in the drive thru (my 1st time ordering from this location) was so thorough, patient, kind, suggestive, helpful, happy, friendly, detail oriented (ex: triple checking how many cups of honey mustard for my chicken strips) and ensured my order was accurate and just as I wanted before having my pull forward. Both girls at the window were so sweet and friendly, and one of them told me they eat there themselves because the food is that good! They were quick, efficient, and had me pull around the corner. I expected to wait 20 minutes for my order but waited maybe only 2 minutes. The guy who brought my bags out was also very friendly! My order was large and complex, but I received it so fast, 100% accurate, every single thing came out perfect. 10/10 taste, temperature, freshness, appearance, preparation, packaging- all of it. What an unreal restaurant and staff at this South Jordan location. This type of experience from a drive thru is rare and I want this staff to know how much their work ethics are noticed and appreciated. Culvers is one of the greatest restaurants I've ever ate at. They have a great variety of burgers, chicken sandwiches, and many different dinner plates to chose from. I definitely recommend there butter burgers they are very rich with flavor, every bite you take is filled with fresh quality ingredients. Omg!! I just got their flavour of the day. Caramel and fudge cookie dough ice cream. Its delicious!!!!! I recommend getting as a concrete style cause it's thicker and so you can enjoy more of it. I love knowing we've got yet another awesome burger place within a few minutes of home! In the last week we've already been there twice, once for dinner once for dessert. I tried the Butterburger and it was superb! The patty still had a tiny bit of pink in it, just how I like it. They've also got a much wider variety than you'd expect from most burger places. Plenty of choices of sides and the price is very reasonable. The custard was perfect. They do a flavor of the day that always looks tasty. I was impressed with the service. I would leave but they told my credit card and charged me. I called back in after 35 min and they couldn't find my order, so they rushed it out after another 10 min. I have been here several times. Every time I eat in the store its horrible. The restaurant is laid out horribly and the servers have to hunt around looking for you for a few minutes jostling around other people trying to sit and juggling your food. Nothing is eye level because you have the tiny little signs you sit on your table. The whole place is designed like a dugout - everything is walled off and tucked away so you can't see anything when passing through. So last time I was in there my food came out 25 minutes after I ordered... what? I realize they prioritize the drive through.... but come on 25 minutes at a fast food joint? So my food finally came after the server was hunting out on the Serengeti for me the... hungry crippled deer. My girlfriends food came out fine.... but I got mine completely covered in mayo - yuck. Not my jams, but I was hungry and was like sure will just remove some of it and away we go. That's when i noticed I was missing half a patty.... and my tomato still had the stem in it?!!! So yuck nope didn't want to eat that. Sadly this is NOT cheap fast food a decent combo with NO desert is still well into the double digits. I took it up to the front desk and sat there. Lost... lonely in the crazy wreck of a front end they have for you to order. Which btw is a serious cluster as the counter space to front door ratio is serious off. 6 people in line means they are clogging the entrance (and exit). So back to it.... here I am lost at the front as everyone is ignoring me until finally I get annoyed and ask for a manager. A manager came out - a young doe eyed lady with blonde hair comes out and asked me whats wrong. I show he the burger and she says "oh I am sorry you wouldn't want to eat that, I will have them make another right away". 15 minutes I have to FIND them again because they sent the server out to look for me - but no number and the manager didn't bother doing it herself so i my burger (getting cold) walked around for another 5 minutes. I finally flag her down, claim my prize and walk back to the front to ask for a to go box. At this point my girlfriend is done and sick of sitting there in the zoo of children, frantic parents and access choke points straight from a thriller cop film. I go back up to the counter wave down the manager for final landing. She looks at me and says whats wrong? I ask for a box because its been over 20 minutes and she says. Oh sorry I can get you one. That's it? I can get you one? Really? And then she turns around and asks an employee to grab me one because I guess they hadn't restocked.... once again I had to flag down another young buck to get me the box because they had no idea who "this guy" was. Needless to say frustrating... go through the drive through.... or go somewhere else. Frustrating considering I live 1 minute a way and 5 minutes walking.... read more

If you are going to go for fast food, this is a better choice than the other big burger chains. There is a lot of variety to the menu. My favorite are the pork cutlet sandwich and the fried chicken (ask for two breasts if you are dining in--they'll have to cook them fresh which makes them even more amazing). The sides Culver's offers are what set them apart. The burgers are good but not exceptional. The onion rings and fried cheese curds are always tip notch and perfectly cooked. Skip the green beans and coleslaw. Of course, what people really come here for is the frozen custard. They have a gazillion flavors, so there is something for every taste. We usually just get the mini size, and that is plenty. What makes their custard work so well is that the bases are not too sweet. That way, when they mix in the toppings and syrups, you aren't overloaded with sugar. I mean, there's plenty of sugar in there, but the Mixers are distinctly less sweet than a Blizzard from Dairy Queen. Don't go out of your way to come to Culver's, but if you are nearby and looking for a quick bite, choose them over the standard fast food places for sure. read more

Where are the fries? Had to order the fries separately. More waiting. Doesn't the value basket come with a drink? Nope. Had to order the drink separately. Also had to ask the person behind the counter (Mykenna) each transaction for the receipt. The burger was just OK, about the same quality of a 1/4 pounder from that national burger chain with the arches. Frozen custard? We have other options for that, too. Oh the hype I've heard about this place. We were finally in the area and decided to give it a try and I thought the hype was more than the quality of food. The burgers were thin and dry. They did not have much flavor but they had plenty of condiments which made up for it. My daughter ordered the crispy chicken and they typed in grilled so we had to get that corrected and it took forever to get that brought out. The fries were good and they have as much fry sauce as you want, which is a win. My wife liked her shrimp. I did not try a shake so maybe that is what they are famous for but as far as burgers go I'll never go there for that. read more

We tried Culvers for the first time today. The place is clean, and the food was good. I had a burger, fries​ and a rootbeer float. They were good and I will be going back again. It's not a fancy place but you should not be expecting that. I watched an employee remove a trash can from the cabinet​. The employee then crawled into the cabinet and started wiping down the inside walls. Where do​ you get employees like that these days? I watched the other employees too. Definitely a step up from McDonalds and not too expensive, but it always takes FOREVER to get you're food no matter how many people are there.
