I was at Culvers today and went thru the drive thru. I have had good service in past, but today was not. I ordered a kids meal with cheese burger, sweet potato fries & diet coke. Also 4 piece chicken strips. BUT what i got was a cheeseburger. No fries, No soda. The pink receipt shows kids meal as cheeseburger, set pt fry & Milk. But all I got was the burger. I suppose in the future if I go to this location I will have to go thru my bags. Also the tab was ripped off for the free ice cream which i didn't get or order at this time. This lunch became expensive for all the items left out for what i paid. SO if you go to this location please look your order over before the server leaves your car. read more

This review is not about the Culver chain in specific but more about this particular franchise. I know fast food is a lousy job in many ways, you work hard and you don't get paid a lot. My experience with this locations I think had more to do with management and training than anything else. My order was not correct and when I called it to the attention of the server, they were not especially helpful. The food was not prepared or served very well either, the bun on my burger was crushed for example and the place was generally not especially clean when I visited about 1 pm. I am guessing the management does not put a great deal of attention to service and housekeeping and that's a shame as fast food for the most part does not have much more to offer than that. I tend to overlook Culver's for a lunch spot but thier food is pretty darn good. I've only been twice but the double burger & fries were hot and fresh! Nice condiment/Soda bar.. organized. I was so happy when a culvers opened in my neck of the woods! What I like about Culvers is the selection. Their butter burgers are delicious and my husband loves that they have fish. It is also refreshing to have a fast food joint that offers mashed potatoes, cole slaw, green beans, and a side salad just to name a few. It is also nice to have a fast food joint that offers burgers as well as chicken and fish. I had my first sweet potato fries and they were fantastic!!! Their frozen custard is also soooo good! We came in for lunch as we always do sometimes and the restaurant is always clean, food is always fresh and the crew are always nice, polite and crisp in their uniforms. Never had a problem here and out of all of the locations that I've visited this one stands out from their happy smiles when they greet you all the way down to the fresh, hot and juicy food. This particular Ms. Darlene C. took care of us as we ordered and I must say she is the nicest, sweetest person I've come across in the fast food buisness. She (Ms. Darlene C.) has a warm southern charm and she just makes you feel great while your ordering, gives the best suggestions and she is one of those people to where if you won the lottery you most definitely remember. After waiting 15 minutes in the drive through AFTER ordering, you'd expect the food to be hot. Nope. Fries were limp and cold. The hamburger was disgustingly cold. The bun actually felt like it came straight out of a refrigerator. I had to throw away most of it. Then I called the restaurant to talk to the manager and she said she would send me a voucher for a free basket. Once again total letdown, as the voucher never came. No longer selling Pepsi products. I could not believe it and told them they will lose a ton of customers over this because there are no hamburger restaurants that sell Pepsi. FISHAY - FISHAY- Mcbites- Mcbites. OK- you gotta give a shout out to McDonald's commercial with it's winning annual jingle sung by the fish on the wall!! Culver's commercial- bragging about their Northern Cod Fillet while being dipped in light batter, and served with homemade tartar sauce reeled us in! It must have lured a lot of people, as the place was packed to the gills ( get it) hahah. Now I know where they got that phrase "packed like a can of sardines" comes from. The food was good but what stood out was the friendly service. The food was delivered to our table and the young gal asked us if there was anything else she could get us. There was a person walking around handing out frozen custard samples, and another pushing around a cart with free coffee. All the employees seemed unscathed by the crowd - they all smiled and chatted with the guests effortlessly- wow, that was the real "Catch of the day." There was a contineous parade of people helicoptering the tables, watching your every bite, hoping it was the last, so that they could score your table. We learned quickly to eat with our head down and avoid eye contact. It was too much to see the angst in their eyes and watch them mouth along as we chewed each bite. My husband got up to go and order us a sundae for dessert and a lady tried to take his seat. I tell you it was a survival of the sittest. Wonderful experience. Went through the drive through on a Friday night. Employees could not have been more friendly and polite. My order came out within 5 minutes hot and fre. She apologized for the wait and I said, "What wait? That was fast!" Whoever selects and trains these folks deserves praise too. The managing supervisor working the window yesterday on 9/30/21 at 7:30PM was completely disrespectful, unprofessional and aggressive for no apparent reason. With my kids in the car, she proceeded to snarl at me about not hearing from her employees that the ice cream was to come out with the food. She then handed me my drink that was spilling down the sides all over my hand. I asked her to give me a napkin to wipe up the soda off my hands and she barked at me in this really loud, nasty tone: "Here you go! Are you okay - You look REALLY frustrated tonight." That was it - I asked for a refund and she disappeared from the window and came back and gave me cash. I really wanted it back on my card and asked for credit back to same form of purchase. This resulted in her having some type of out of body physical response that she was unable to control herself as she ripped the card out of my hand. Then, as I was shifting to pull out from the window, she exclaimed in a real nasty, sarcastic tone: YOU HAVE YOURSELF A REALLY GREAT EVENING!! This Culver's is always really great with service and we've never had any performance issues like this. This rotten apple needs to go, especially since they are in a leadership position and representing the company. At no time did the manager try to make things right or deescalate the situation, at times even provoking and aggravating it more because she cant keep her big, obnoxious mouth shut... If you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes, so I really hope that making me the unlucky recipient of all of your pent up anger and aggression was really worth it. read more

For a restaurant that opened less than a month ago, this place is fantastic! I usually don't like to visit a place until they work the kinks out - at least a few months. Culvers is different however, in that I live about as far away from one as you could possibly imagine, and I really like Culvers. Driving 45 minutes for a burger seems like overkill to me, so it was a great surprise when I saw this location open. It's still a long way from extreme North County, but its on the way from other places I frequent. We got there around 11:30 to avoid the lunch rush. Ordered 2 burgers exactly the same way, but they pulled 1 of them wrong as they were very different. It turned out to be ok since my dining companion liked the veg combination on the wrong burger. The fries were cooked longer than any other Culver's I've ever been to, and that suited me just fine. I don't really care for flimsy, droopy fries and this location did not disappoint. The dining room is only about half the size of others that I've visited, both around STL and between here and the Quad Cities. There's not much room to maneuver around the soda fountain and the order line came out into the dining room twice as the lunch rush grew. It was clean and the employees seemed well-trained and friendly. All-in-all, this seems to be a good location that will become great with a little time. I'll be coming back soon! read more

Culver's reminds me a lot of Dairy Queen. The whole burgers and ice cream type of place that it is. I would say that it is A LOT cleaner than the Dairy Queen locations I've been to and they had a better staff. The employees were really customer orientated and I liked that. They were nice and polite which is something that I seek in a business. My husband and I were exploring the city at 10:30 at night(just cause we're cool like that) and found Culver's and thought to give it a try. Even though we came up to the drive thru window fifteen minutes before closing, took so long to figure out what we wanted, curse of the first-timer, and asked a bunch of questions they probably hear all of the time; the employee at the window still showed patience and professionalism. Kudos to you drive thru guy. Things that I don't like about it: After we paid, they gave us a number and asked us to drive up in front of the restaurant. It was a bit confusing because we thought fast food places only did that when it was super busy and the time at which we were there had only four other people in the place besides us... Hmm....kinda weird. Well, we got our food after a bit longer than I would've liked to see out of a fast food restaurant. I got the Mushroom and swiss double burger (sorry diet...I have failed you) I had expected it to be quite good but in fact that was the complete opposite. My husband got the Number one option. the special with lettuce , pickles tomatoes and onions. Don't ask why I can't remember the name of the burger but I can remember what was on it. I don't get it either.... Anywho... both of our burgers were greasy! I mean I thought I took a bite out of a burger that was dipped in lard before being put into the grill. That is how greasy it was. There was grease dripping down my hands as I was eating it. Ew Culver's...just ew. I didn't try out any of the sides because I was questioning the prices of everything, call me a cheapskate but 12 bucks for two greasy burgers is way too much in my book. I give it three stars for the excellent service but not a higher rating because of the greasy-ness of the burgers. I have a hard time reviewing fast food since they don't compare to all of our great local options but keeping this as a comparison to other fast food it's not a bad option. It's a Culver's...the same as you find in other locations around the city. This one is newer and looks pretty clean. They were really efficient when i went yesterday. The girl working the drive through introduced herself and encouraged me to take my time. She was friendly when i pulled up and asked about my dog i had with me. At Culver's they ask you to pull up after paying and someone brings your meal out to you so they can keep the line going. I wasn't sitting there two minutes before mine was already here. The Butterburger was good but a little on the salty side, the cheese curds were great they are the only reason to come here in my opinion, and the short concrete was tasty but nothing to write home about. Overall as far as fast food is concerned this is a good option for lunch. read more

Curbside pick up was fine, but between the kitchen and delivery there were NOnapkins in the bag with the food. And zero implements to use for eating. This is my new favorite fast food place! It's not just a hamburger place, but the burgers are first rate. I love the chicken. Moist and breading is crisp and light. The custard is to die for! Great shakes and plenty of other custard items to take home. I believe their competitive advantage are their employees. As you would expect, young. Always polite, smiling, wanting to be of service. I stopped here today to grab a fast lunch today, I have had their food before and it's very good but had never ate inside. I walked in the door and walked right up to place my order, the casher was so nice and helped me with my choice, she was friendly and cheery. I didn't get her name but she had blonde streaks in her bangs, I told the manager how nice she was and it is such a change from some cashiers not even looking at you while taking your order. And although I've never had them, I like the fact that I could get jumbo shrimp or pot roast if I wanted to. Culver's is simply a GREAT fast food restaraunt. I am so glad that this one opened up closer to South City because the other locations are in South County and Fenton. This one is on my way home from work! This will be a blessing and a curse for sure! My wife wanted to go last night for their grand opening so we did. Happy wife am I right? And of course its not like Culver's wouldn't make for a happy husband anyway! Ok, so what Culver's does really well is burgers and custard. They call them Butter burger's because they "lightly" butter the buns. You can score a variety of options like cheddar burgers and mushroom swiss. What I also love about Culver's is that they offer homestyle meals such as chicken, fish and pot roast. Then of course, they do custard. And they do it just as well as anybody. In fact, for a simple clean vanilla custard... Culver's does it better than Ted Drewe's. (I know bring on the firing squad! Blasphemer!) Here are two tips for a successful Culinary Culver's experience: 1. If this is your maiden voyage, then get a butter burger, fries and a Dad's Rootbeer. In fact, take it easy on your wallet and your waistline because you need room for that custard later. Get the Snack pack meal for 3.99. Free refills on the soda and spare the larger fries for your desert. 2. If you are ready to try other things then definitely check out the Pot Roast Sandwhich and the Cheese Curds! Both are great! Today I deleted the app and canceled the order while still in drive thru. There are some days when this location is too good to be believed. And then there are the lousy days. The woman on headset at 1:00 (late lunch) had every item wrong and after several tries ( at the top of my lungs) she still couldn't hear. So I cancelled and left. She was rude and incompetent. And just last week I hit a day with the manager on the squwak box. It was great. So I will never re try on a Tuesday. It was so frustrating! Do they need batteries, new headsets, or a new trainer! It was terrible, I had gone for the first time to Fenton, MO. It was clean and the food was great and the servers looked clean and tidy. Smiled and were friendly. So I was in Kirkwood at the Puzzle Warehouse and thought I'm not feeling to good so let me just grab one of those great burgers. I was told they didn't know anything about the garlic burger so I got the bacon double cheese burger and asked for pickles and onions. No pickles or onions...I bought a chili cheese fry and when I opened the box I had a huge glob of cheese and no chili and could not find the fry's. Disgusting. I had to pull around the corner and the lady who brought out my bag looked dirty and her wig or weave was rat-y and falling off her head. She had a nasty demeanor and was not friendly at all. On Thursday 6/13/13, my wife and I went to Culver's for lunch at 1:30 p.m. We ordered our food and was seated at a table and had just started eating when the manager came to us and loudly accused us of having an issue with the help using the "n" word. We are senior citizens and were embarrassed and humiliated by the way we were treated. We tried to explain that we do not use racial slurs and that word is not in our vocabulary. The short time we stayed to finish our meal the staff made us feel very uncomfortable so we left. Later that day, I called Culver's manager back but they were not apologetic. Because of our humiliating experience we will not be returning that that location. I did call the corporate office and they were very apologetic but no compensation can repair the damage done in public. read more

We've eaten at Culver's in road trips but this is our first visit to a local Culver's. The food was good and the restaurant was clean. The only glitch was attempting to order a patty melt with a veggie burger instead of meat. The person taking my order wanted to put in for a patty melt with no meat and have me order a veggie burger. Someone came to assist the cashier with entering an order substituting beef for veggie. The veggie patty melt was delicious but apparently an anomaly in Kirkwood. read more
