I'm gonna need to revisit this grilled cheese cheeseburger trending thing. I had to have mine remade but the crust on both sides of the buns is uneven as you can see. Some friends of mine recently invited me to join them for dinner at Five Guys and I was reminded how much I love their food. So much that I decided to go back for a second time in an 2 week period. This time at the location off of Lindell Blvd in the Central West End. Like other locations, this location offers their classic take on burgers, hotdogs, milkshakes and fries. Each item is made-to-order and customizable with a range of toppings. I opted to order a cheeseburger and a regular serving of fries- both of which were ready in less than 15 minutes from the time I placed the order. Overall, the ingredients were fresh and the quality was consistent with what I have experienced at other locations. If you have never been, there are a few considerations when dining at Five Guys: 1) the serving sizes are enormous. The cheeseburger is actually a double cheeseburger and the regular size fries are served in a 12oz cup which is enough to serve 2 people, 2) the serving size and the price go hand in hand. While you get a lot of food, a meal for one person can range anywhere from $14-$20 and 3) they double fry their fries in peanut oil, which may be a limitation for some people with allergies. Overall, I am pleased with the experience and will return the next time I have a craving for a burger and fries. read more

I have and will always be a fan of five guys BUT this particular location is not one I will go to ever again!!! I normally go to the one located in St. Ann/Bridgeton but since my promotion the closet one is on Lindell and the two times I went the meat wasn't completely done and when I called whoever answered the phone said they couldn't replace the meal for me which I didn't understand especially since this is not normal for me. I think that they might want to cook the meat longer to make sure that it done. I was disappointed that they weren't able to help me but I will go to different locations no matter the distance. read more

They don't make the fries until the delivery driver gets there, wasting 5 minutes of the delivery drivers time meaning they make even less hourly and causing the rest of the food not to be as hot when delivered creating a horrible delivery experience! And it's not only this store either! read more

Dude that was apparently the shift lead was an absolute asshole to his workers and made the entire store uncomfortable. Dude even audaciously claimed to be a "nice person" but he was certainly not nice or professional. He was an absolute disgrace to the Five Guys brand. I am NOT into fast food, especially fast food burger places. But Five Guys is different. These burgers are amazing. The regular burger comes with two juicy patties and whatever toppings you want. I like getting the cheeseburger with BBQ sauce and mushrooms. When I say juicy, I mean it. This is a multiple napkin kind of sandwich. Their fries are ok. I'm not a huge fan of fries, but since there isn't another option to eat with the burger, I always get them. No one should ever need to order a large order unless you plan to feed the family. Order the small...they give you a filled cup and then dump a bunch more in the bag. You end up with enough for 2-3 people. The restaurant is big with tons of seating. It's clean and bright and the staff is friendly. Parking is easy since they are on the outer edge of the Schnucks parking lot. That's a big plus in the CWE. I've only lived in the CWE for 2 weeks...and I've already eaten here 3 times. And they give you free peanuts in the shell to munch on while you wait for your food. Today was the day that I decided to eat at five guys so I could be part of the fast food elitist group that is better than everyone else because they eat at five guys. When I arrived the first thing I noticed was the signs about how amazing this place is. WOW.... Talk about tooting your own horn, this place takes the cake. Ok back to the real reason your reading this review. Does it live up to what the signs say and the answer is yes it does. The gentleman who took our order was so friendly. He was actually excited to be at work and seemed happy to take my order. I ordered a cheeseburger and some fries. I liked the fact that I got a huge list of stuff that I could pick and choose to put on my burger. The French fry gods have heard my prayers and delivered me the salty yummy fries that I desire. My burger was also fantastic. The burger was moist and flavorful. The only negative about five guys was the price, but I will now choose five guys over other burger places. read more

I genuinely don't understand Five Guys. It has the feel and look of a fast food restaurant, yet you walk out spending $15-20 on a burger and fries and regretting not spending the money on a decent restaurant instead. I don't mind splurging on food, but leaving Five Guys always makes me pause and re-evaluate my life. However, from the urging of my girlfriend and my friends and their conflicting opinions about this burger joint, I decided to give Five Guys another chance. Unfortunately, I don't my latest visit has changed my opinion. The hype isn't just external, as soon as you walk in you're overwhelmed with quotes all over the walls about the greatness of this place. It's as if they are trying to spit out propaganda to make up for something, or perhaps just trying to justify the outrageous prices. Most importantly, the food doesn't match the hype. The burger and fries are like the hundreds of normal burgers I've tasted or made myself. There is nothing magic about these. Yes, they are better than fast food burgers, but I don't think that's the bar that Five Guys has set for themselves. I would rather spend a few extra dollars and get a burger at one of the other sit down places in St. Louis that serve unique, creative burgers. I can think of several. I will say that all of the employees are extremely helpful and friendly. This is the shining point. Some tips to get the most out of your experience here: 1.) If possible, avoid getting fries or a drink as this is the most expensive part of their menu ($3 for small fries, $4 for regular fries, $6 for large fries). 2.) If you must, get the small fries if you are by yourself, or one order of medium fries if you are with a friend. It will be more than enough. One good thing about Five Guys is that they are generous with their fries. 3.) Load up on as many freebies as you can to make up for the cost. Unless you absolutely hate a condiment or burger topping, get it. If you must just get it on the side. 4.) Stuff your face with the free peanuts. Overall, if you just got a bonus at work and have gone to your favorite fast food restaurant one too many times, come check this place out. If not, I wouldn't bother. read more

Prices have went up significantly for their signature burgers with a plain cheeseburger being at almost 10 dollars. Wait is always a little longer than a regular fast food restaurant but that is expected with the taste quality. I only waited around 9 minutes and the meal was delicious! read more

The burgers and hot dogs are very good, and they give you a ton of fries so really only one person in your party has to order them, but the food is overpriced. The last two times I've gone to this location, I ended up with all the toppings piled up on one end of my burger, making it really sloppy to eat. These were to go orders, but that shouldn't make a difference. I used to hear my friends and family rave about how five guys burgers and fries were the best and I'd roll my eyes. I used to hear all the hype from people online and I didn't believe it. When I finally came here for myself I found out what I'd been missing. Five guys deserves all the praise it gets! They make some seriously delicious food. The burgers are juicy and tasty, the fries are thick and taste like potato like they should. Seriously, the only thing I could possibly complain about is the fact that my cheeseburger and little fry costs just under $12, but the saying "you get what you pay for" holds true here. The little fry is enough fries for me and the cheeseburger has two thick patties. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes burgers! If you haven't tried it, don't wait any longer! They finally decided to do something to the Blockbuster. I'm hoping it'll survive because the neighborhood can use some help. First impression: not your fancy burger joint (which works for the location). Lots of open tables.... not sure about the pile of peanut oil and fries though. The guys at the counter were fast. Place relatively clean. Menu: simple. Choice of four burgers...regular or little. All toppings included. Corn dog, sandwich, & two kinds of fries. It does have a bit of the In & Out feel to it... granted, a little bit more expensive. Little cheeseburger is $4.50. Didn't have to wait long before the food came out. Burger was larger than I expected. Tasty. Cajun fries was a little disappointing. Two little burgers + 1 regular fries came out to under $13. To the management: please check your ketchup containers regularly. At 6:00pm on a Wed, both container was empty. Also check your bathroom more frequently. No paper towel. Might want to turn down the music or invest in PA system so customers can hear order number when called. read more

My oldest son is a voracious omnivore, but with a particular taste for hamburgers, so we stopped in during our visit to the zoo to see what all the fuss is about. This place is a cross between a fast food joint and a eat in, cafeteria type place. Cheap tables and chairs, very spartan decorations, no-frills environment. It's precisely the kind of place you would expect to be located in a college community (as this is). You order your meal at the register and they cook it to order. Well, that's not quite true; the sign says all meat is cooked "well done", although fortunately that's not true. My burger was cooked "medium well", which was perfect. But anyway, you identify the toppings you want from a wide selection. I ordered the regular bacon cheeseburger and it was very large. The small is adequate for most people who are not looking to buy a new wardrobe. I got the cajun fries which had a nice flavor. The fries are the thick, steak kind. I thought they were just okay, nothing special. The joint was very clean. The employees were very polite. It felt a little more like being home, in the south, than in St. Louis. That means a lot. Overall, I thought $15 was on the high side for a burger, fries and coke. It was good, but in my experience there are a lot of places you can get roughly the same thing for $8-10. Or, you can go to Bricktop's in Nashville for the best cheeseburger in the world. It's $14. read more

Just finished eating at this location. It's so easy to leave a bad review about a negative experience, but I told myself that I should leave a good review for this particular establishment. I'll cut straight to the point. I really just wanted to give major kudos to the staff. The wait was minimal from the time I placed my order, to the point of actually receiving my meal. But mainly, they had such energy and enthusiasm that really became infectious to be honest. I don't know why but it always brings a smile to my face when I hear the workers singing along to the music playing. You can tell that they have great chemistry with one another. Random lunch outing and we decided for a bite at five guys. If you don't know the chain it's delicious and the fries are cooked in peanut oil. Major peanut allergy warning. This locations staff are nice, but kinda hard to hear them call the orders out, but the food is well done and tasty. Bad burgers and rude staff. This is not the place to go get a burger! First they do have a ton of toppings but that just makes the bun soggy and gross. Second, they only cook the burgers to well done. If you ask for them to be cooked another way they say no. Third, they give you to many frys and the grease on them ruins the bags and they fall out! OK I have been here numerous times and this time was the worst time ever. This cashier was ringing me out & I showed her I couldn't swipe my card BC the machine was blank. She said the machine must be down so I asked her why can't I get rung out on the machine next to this as it looked functional. She said no BC "it's a whole different system." And she also said "why does such-and-such have to be on break right now?" So instead of trying to fix this machine, she said she can only take cash. If I wanted to pay card I could do it online. This was a huge inconvience to me...And I'm unsure if I'll ever return to this location again seeing as this is how things seem to be done here. They only get a 1-star b/c I was still able to get my food by ordering online. All i can say is I'm very irate about this whole situation & it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
