We took a detour on the way back to Orlando with Dad (who is from Wisconsin). Steven, the store owner introduced himself and told us all about Culver's. Culver's has the best double cheeseburger of anyone in fast food. I have eaten at most of the prime contenders - countless times at In-N-Out and Fatburger for instance - and I prefer Culver's by a considerable margin over the others. I was excited to see one under construction in my parents' neighborhood the last time I visited Tampa and hope they can keep up the same quality while they expand out of the Midwest. I used to love Steak and Shake but when they started competing with McDonald's it got bad and this is a huge cut above that. Fast food style. I guess it is a chain. Freindly staff, not overbearing.  They ocasionally wandered the restuarant, cleaning and interacting with cusomers. My chicken burger was tasty.  The breading was crunchy and easy to bite, with a distinct flavour.  French fries were ok.  Shakes look good, I didn't try. Also serves ice cream, I think various flavours. Overall impression was Culver's is a cut above your average fastfood place.  My experience was good enough that I would actively seek one out. read more

When I went inside to order there were only 3 other people also ordering. After I ordered those 3 received their order and 8 more people waiting along with me for our orders. After waiting 15 minutes for my food most of those people also received their orders and more people were coming in. I finally received one part of my order; cheese curds; and they weren't even for to go like I asked. After 10 more minutes of waiting for the rest of my order I saw it sitting on the out tray thing. And after 5 minutes of watching them serving other people and servers waiting for new food to come in to put in bags; still staring at my food that no one bothered with, the drive thru servers served me all because it was an accident he packed up my food with someone elses. So after waiting 30 minutes for a cod dinner plate and cheese curds, when I got home I found in my bag honey mustard instead of tartar sauce like I asked for and what the server told me was in the bag. Outstanding meal Culver's! Went to the restaurant with my family, ordered grilled chicken cranberry blue salad with raspberry vin dressing. One of the best salads I have ever had! Kids got the chicken tenders and fries. Huge tenderloin chicken fingers, all white meat, some of the best quality food that I have had served in 5 min. They make all of there food to order, so it is not kept in warming units like other "fast food" restaurants. Better quality, hot food, and staff was beyond friendly. Been here a few times with friends in Tampa. Went again last night. The Fish sandwich is THE best and this place is hands down, 100% better than any fast food chain. The place is spotless, staff goes out of their way to be so friendly and helpful. Last night got to chat with the manager owner - nice guy and good conversation. The Boston Red Sox framed pics that was there as you entered, is gone. The food platters are superb, service is ALWAYS great and friendly and can't WAIT till they open one here in St Pete. This is a great, clean, and new fast-food restaurant. I had the chicken sandwich basket with crinkle fries, and my friend had the butterburger with cheese curds. Both came out quickly and delicious! It's a good addition to the fast-food circuit. read more

We LOVE Culver's and have been to this location many times. We have also visited Culver's in Illinois, Indiana and Panama City Beach, FL. They have all been great! Until today. First the cashier, who may have been new, never quite understood our order....we each order a dish with 2 scoops of ice cream. My husband ordered a dish with 2 scoops of chocolate and I ordered a dish with 2 scoops of the flavor of the day. The cashier kept calling it a sundae and charged us for sundaes. I thought she was referring to the size of the dish. After we paid, got our number and were seated, we saw the menu board and realized we'd been over charged 50 cents each. After waiting much longer than usual for our order, I went to the counter and explained to the woman with the Manager name tag that we had been waiting and we had been over charged. She never quite understood. She was too busy washing off tables (she gets zero stars). She did however, call a super employee over to help us. I think his name tag said Darrell. He was terrific (he gets 5 stars). He not only understood our issues, he refunded our money and got our custard. He deserves a raise and he should be the manager. We got our order and enjoyed our ice cream. The Manager walked by us while she wiped off tables. She never spoke...not "so sorry about the mix up", "is everything OK?", not "please come again". Someone at this location needs to do more training before putting a Manager name tag on a person and before turning a new employee loose on the cash register. read more

My lunch experience today at Culver's was amazing. It was the first time I ever ate at this restaurant in this location. The service, the food, the cleanliness of the restaurant, the atmosphere, made my experience one to remember. The food was great it was made fresh and was very appetizing. Great service, food, everything! I ran into a slight problem, however it was quickly fixed. The quality of the food is 5 stars. Food takes a little bit but it's worth it because it's all fresh. Excellent! The owner, Steve, is very friendly and tries to personally talk to everyone in the restaurant. He asks us how everything was, what they can improve on and our overall visit. As I am from Wisconsin and I used to go to Culvers at least once a week I knew when they started popping up I needed to make my way there. There service is just how I remember it. Always a 10. The food always awesome. I usually order the Mushroom Swiss butterburger. Don't forget to ask for your toppings, because they give you exactly what you want, so if you don't ask for it it's not going to be there. I have been waiting for a restaurant that sold a genuine burger to come to Tampa bay. I am so happy that It was Culver's. The burger is juicy and beefy. No fake meat here! If you want more meat just make it a double or a triple. Cheese curds are awesome! No surprise there! I've been missing those too. They are a Wisconsin staple, so to get them in Florida is an awesome blessing. However, if you go to Culver's do not, I REPEAT, do not leave there without trying the custard, The concrete mixers are amazing, There's a Flavor of the day that is advertised on the board outside. You can also create your own. However, there are items that are only seasonal such as the Strawberry Ice. It basically is Strawberries and lemon ice. It is really good, but when it gets colder out, It will not be offered. And YES Florida does have some winter days, not many but a few months. Just usually without snow. Sometimes there will be frost, but that's usually it. Take a pint of custard home. The food is delicious. The Salads are also really good. read more

I never write these reviews, but in this case I will make a well deserved exception. After stopping to try this newly opened place, I was amused to read this first review because it so flawlessly captures what Culver's is all about, written by an obviously obese mouth-breather with a 6th grade education. I would, however, have to agree with his spelling of custurd. I waited fifteen minutes for my little cup of frozen custard, but it was devoid of any flavor at all, not even some hint of the previous writer's colorful allusion. Perhaps they could put that on their menu to give it some actual taste. The place was mobbed with morbidly obese people of all ages gorging themselves on disgusting, over-priced cheese balls, butter burgers, fries and patty melts. Meanwhile, more obese, even lazier people were sitting in their cars in a long queue, idling their way to the drive-up window, too lethargic to even get out of their cars. Still, read that first review again and you will see why this place is guaranteed to be a resounding success here. It made me sick. I will never go back. Oh, sorry, nice looking building. read more

Culver's is a new restaurant to the Tampa Bay area that has a lot of kinks to work out. First, regarding their food. It is of the same quality that you could expect to receive at any other fast food restaurant the only thing that makes them different is their "supposed" excellent customer service. This is the tactic that the owner uses to convince you to pay those EXTREMELY elevated prices for plain standard fast food that you can get anywhere for a WAY CHEAPER PRICE. I had a recent negative experience with the W HILLSBORUGH location where the employee made an honest mistake with how they prepared my order. But my issue was not with the employee, it was with the actual OWNER, who after answering the phone when I called the next day to request a refund for the meager $5.00 mistake, was not only dismissive but accused me of begging for a hand out for requesting a refund for a mistake HIS employee made, and stated that they don't do refunds. Be cautious in patronizing this restaurant especially when the actual OWNER is clueless about GOOD customer service and INSULTING when asked to give a simple $5.00 refund for a mistake HIS employee made. I recommend that you choose another fast food restaurant, with customer service that is just as good if not better, pay WAY LESS for PLAIN FAST FOOD, and not have to deal with an OWNER who will INSULT you for requesting a $5.00 refund for sub-par service read more

I have been to the location on W. Hillsborough 3 times now and each were lacking for customer service. All visits were through the drive thru - and that might be the issue. The young ladies taking the order are not very forthcoming in helping explain menu items and what comes with them. Two Times, the same girl that works Saturday evenings, would ask what the order is, I tell her, then we have to go back through the order again because she has it wrong. Not once but TWICE this has happened. Now the way the drive thru is set up she should not have to multi task since they make you pull around and wait for your food. So not sure where the training issues are OR even better yet where the management is for this establishment. Food is OK, but a little over priced for what you are getting. And I have yet to get a burger the way I ordered it. But hey - it might just be me and I don't know how to order. They have some issues to work out at this store. Pretty bad with McD's and BK and Taco Bell can give better customer service. read more
