Culver's is a great choice if you're just craving fast food burgers and shakes but it's nothing extraordinary. I've had their burgers and wanted to try something different so I ordered the 2 piece cod dinner this time around. The dinner comes with 2 battered and fried fillets of cod, a roll, and any 2 sides ($11.89). I also ordered a vanilla concrete mini with heath bar candy mixed in ($3.89). The fish was perfectly crispy and golden brown but lacked much flavor. The fries were typical crinkle cut fries, the same you'd find in your grocer's freezer. The coleslaw was ok. It didn't have an overwhelming mayonnaise taste which was a plus. The concrete mixer was probably the highlight of the meal. The custard was thick and creamy with an abundance of heath bar candy mixed in. I still felt like it was missing something though so I may try it with salted caramel next time. I have to say, the service was top notch for a fast food place. I was greeted immediately by multiple employees when I walked in, the cashier was courteous and helpful, my food came out quickly and hot, my order was correct, I was given condiments utensils straws and napkins without having to ask, and my order was brought directly to me by another friendly employee who sincerely thanked me for my business. We waited in the drive through for almost 20 minutes after ordering our food. Some hot items were cold by the time we received them. Our beverages had been consumed prior to receiving our food after waiting so long. My burger was soggy and fries were undercooked. Fish plate was part for the course. This place is really good. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and a sourdough melt. The chicken sandwich did not disappoint. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, it came on a toasted butter bun with all the fixings. However the reason I didn't give it five stars is because the sourdough melt. When they banged the food they put the melt on the very bottom and everything else was on top so the sourdough melt was all smashed and soggy, and the grilled onions had a funky taste. The cheese curds had like no cheese inside them but I still ate them cause I was hungry lol. Overall I will definitely be going back soon for that spicy chicken sandwich!!!! read more

Came to Culver's today for lunch. Picked up a meal for myself and some food for my mother on my way to go visit her. If you've been to Culver's and you know that their food is really good. The cashier that took my order don't remember her full name starts with an X. She had an attitude, seemed really irritated. I do not understand why people get jobs in customer service if you do not like customers. There are other jobs you can attain other than a customer service-based job. But anyway, Culver's is very good place to eat. They have very good variety of foods to choose from if you're in the mood for fish they have really good fish, if you're in the mood for burgers or burgers or phenomenal, and really good shakes. Fish & fries are the best in Tucson. My personal preference is the 12 piece shrimp dinner. Good sized butterflied shrimp breaded & fried. Cocktail sauce rather ho hum but better than just Ketchup. Fast service and have to wait for shrimp to cool a bit or risk burning your lips; a nice thing in fast food restaurants. Onion rings also breaded but would prefer them battered. Regardless I'd recommend them. Pleasant surprise to find root beer regular & diet, also recommended. Service was great, we used to come here a lot when the kids were younger, they love the cheese curds. We went again last week and were really disappointed. I am staying at the Hilton hotel next door to Culver's so I walked over to get some food. The employees here were so nice and amazing! Lilly helped me and rang me up and she was superb!! Her other co workers working with her were very nice as well and i had a great experience at Culver's because of them. I love Culver's. It's honestly one of the best burgers in the entire planet and those fries, perfection. I've had their ice cream as well and they are very generous with their mix in's. The cashiers are very to the point, but nice and the burgers always come out speedily. They also let you use more than once coupon per transaction which saves you so much $$. I was some what disappointed with this visit though. My burger was extremely pink inside and the temperature of the patty was cold almost like they didn't check its doneness. I had it remade and they did not apologize which was a little unnerving. Overall I am almost always a satisfied customer and always look forward to coming here. read more

This is an updated review specifically for fish and chips. Previously we have only purchased the frozen custard cones. After repeated urgings from friends who like Culver's we decided to give it a try. We had yet to find any fish and chips restaurant in Tucson who satisfied our fish urges. Crispies tried but failed. We went, we tried and we had a tie in the end. The wife liked the fish but was disappointed in the tartar and cocktail sauce. She liked the creamy slaw and was neutral on the fries which I felt were frozen. I was neutral on the slaw, neutral on the fries, but was disappointed in the fish. I did not like the batter which was not crispy and the fish, to me, had no taste. The wife will likely make me take her back. Our friends said we should have gone when pike was available. That makes me think that they really don't think the fish is that good at other times but they choose to compromise. read more

Been there twice now. First time was the better experience. the Deluxe Butterburgers were OK. Cheese curds are so-so. Frozen custard is good, but it's frozen custard. Nothing more special than Baskin Robbins, and just a little cheaper than Allegros. So I'd rather have BR and Allegros. The wait was about 7 minutes to order and 15 minutes to get our food when it was busy. Parking was crowded and only had two spots open when we came. Second visit (today) was worse than the first. Wait time was about 7 minutes to order and 30 minutes to get our food. Had the Cheddar Burger. Looked like it was thrown together. Lettuce on all the burgers are shredded, so the pictures are false advertising as they depict whole leaf lettuce. The burgers were OK, nothing outstanding. We decided that we like In-N-Out burgers better. They are cheaper than Culver's, too. Quicker, that's for sure and parking is not an issue. Once again, there were only about two parking spots open when we came. This time, in addition to the burgers, I tried the Atlantic Cod. Nothing spectacular. Rather bland tasting, actually. I've had better at cheapo Long John Silvers and at Jack In The Box. Batter was crispy, but a little on the thick side. The cod fillets themselves were real cod, not formed from parts, and good sized. But like I said, tasted bland. Cole slaw was good. Fries are OK. Root beer good. I must note that the first time they brought out the cod dinner to me, it was almost burnt. I took two bites and decided that if I spent $9 on this dinner, I was not going to eat dried-out, chewy fish that was over-cooked. I had them take it back and give me a new one, which they did cheerfully. But tack on the additional 7-10 minutes of waiting time. Of course, I ate my burger while I was waiting, to be fair. But still... My biggest complaint is that it took 30 minutes to get our order. We were not the only ones, either. How difficult is it to grill some burgers and throw a couple of cod in to the fryer? Oh, boy. I've been waiting for this place to open and it was as good as I thought it would be. It was packed on this grand opening day. We enjoyed the cod fish sandwhich on their famous butter bun. Great taste! The onion rings and fries were done to perfection. I'd never tried their famous cheese balls before and they were quite tasty. Isabella took our order, she was very nice and friendly. They bring the food to your table, and kudos to the servers because this little place feels like a maze. They have plenty of booths, and I noticed plenty of clean tables too although they were quite busy. We had the buffalo chicken strip to share (8 pieces, which is just the 4 pc price timmes 2. We made it a basket (which is their way of saying 'combo' - one side, one drink. It ended up being like $15 for the 8 piece basket and one regular soda. I did not like that the survey in the receipt is only for a free item at that particular location. I have not noticed anything like that in other fast food places. Buffalo chicken was good, but I noticed they did charge us for a dipping sauce, $0.25 I think. We had one ranch, one blue cheese, and a few hot sauce (Cholula) little packets. The side we had was the cheese curds ($1 up-charge for premium side) and they are frigging good... specially while warm. I spent some time in Arizona and while I was there I visited my first Culver's. This location was the first and the last Culver's I have visited. We placed an order for pickup but we still had to wait over 15 minutes for our food. The cashier, however, was friendly and apologized for the extended wait time which we appreciated. This extended wait time however was reflected in the quality of our food. The chili cheese fries we ordered were soggy. The buns on our burgers were cold and the patties themselves had little to no flavor. I wonder if their food would be better had we ordered in-store, however I am not willing to take that risk again. I was trying to locate it on the menu and Taylor in drive thru was clearly trying to rush people through. When asked questions, she spoke so fast didn't even give me time to think of what she just said. Taylor can learn a little patience. Once I got to the window, I asked the youn lady what the person's name was taking orders and she informed me it was Taylor. Won't recommend going to Culver's while only the drive thru is open. In terms of fast food, Culver's ranks amongst the best for us. it is fresher, cleaner, and tastier that most. The burgers aren't too thick or too thin, and they taste good. I don't normally like fast food burgers, but these are edible for me. The meat is better quality, and you can taste the difference from some of the other places. The crispy chicken is fried very well, and is seasoned nicely. The veggies they put on the sandwiches always look and taste crispy and fresh. The cheese curds are unique and very good, and definitely worth trying. They're the best side dish out of the ones we've tried. The mashed potatoes were bland, and the cheese fries were just ordinary. The custard is thick and creamy and what will bring me back to Culver's over and over. The texture is so much better than the "ice cream" (aka powder) that some places use for their desserts. Culver's also isn't stingy with toppings, and they have plenty to choose from. It is just really good. It can take a little bit too long to get the food sometimes. The last time I went through the drive-thru to bring the food home, once I got home, I found that both meals were wrong somehow. However, everyone is friendly, and they walk around the dining room to assist you and clean up. The prices are a little bit high, but when you consider you're getting much higher quality and fresher food, it doesn't matter so much. I'd gladly pay more to get better food. Only place in Tucson to get a real deep friend pork tenderloin like the ones from the Midwest.
