I really enjoyed their steak, very juicy and flavorful. I've gotten med rare ribeye and I heard their coffee steak is quite popular, would need to go back and try!

We celebrated my husband's 30th birthday here. We have never eaten here before, and we were impressed! Such great ambiance with a fantastic waitress. We definitely will come back.

Calling this the Last Supper of the Three Musketeers. My son loves Stoney River so I made reservations before he leaves for the Army on Tuesday. I want to thank the Staff for being so kind and making this dinner extra special. From the card on the table him to staff coming up thanking him for his service it made my heart ache with pride. A fellow soldier actually came up and talked to him at the table and shared his positive experience being in the military so THANK YOU FROM THIS MOMMA'S . It was bittersweet. The food was fabulous. We ordered shrimp cocktail and the spinach artichoke dip which honestly was the best I've ever had. It was creamy and the flavors were well blended. Fantastic. I didn't order steak for once. I ordered Tuscan Chickenwith garlic mash and steamed broccoli. It was divine. Tender pieces of chicken with sun-dried tomatoes in a silky cream sauce. Chef's kiss. Dinner ended with a special surprise piece of chocolate cake and key lime pie. It was grand. Also thanks to the staff who called and brought out my debit card. My mind is all over the place right now and I just left it sitting on the table. Excellent customer service. Thank you all so much!!!!

    Coffee cured filet. My favorite!

This might be my favorite restaurant in Louisville, chain or not. Every time I go I have a great experience. Last night was no exception. Whiskey Shrimp might be the best appetizer in town. The coffee cured filet is different but delicious. The carrot cake OMG. Our server was top notch as usual. You can tell everyone is trained in their role. Hats off to management.

Pricey, but if they charged more it would still be worth it...food is top notch and the service was on point...setting was cozy and warm, drinks were poured with a heavy hand and I'm not complaining...all the way down to the dessert, perfect experience and night can't wait to relive it!

Had an amazing time with my family at Stoney River! We had amazing service while dining there the other night. I also love the ambiance inside because it isn't too loud and it is dark but not too dark. Safe to say, the food and drinks were awesome as well. You cannot go wrong with deviled eggs, and the steak frites were to die for. The steak was cooked perfectly and was nice and tender, and I could've drank the sauce that it came with.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience tonight! The food was absolutely delicious, and the bread they bring out is just as tasty. We started with the stack, which had a wonderful avocado and tuna filling. The ambiance was so nice--relaxing and romantic, with just the right amount of background noise for a pleasant conversation. We also had some dessert, and I had to try the carrot cake, but I took it to go. The asparagus was amazing, especially when you add a little lime--it really made it shine! If you're thinking of trying them out, I highly recommend stopping by and having some delicious food. I hope your service is as good as ours was. They definitely keep your drinks full! I was super thirsty that night, and the server kept it topped off. I'm a big fan of refills, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'll definitely be back to try some other things on the menu. The crème brûlée could use a little help--it was a bit gummy, and there was too much sugar around the plate. The steak could use a little more seasoning less charred pieces, but overall, everything was great.

Love coming here for steak! Their complimentary bread is my favorite and this time I tried the crab cake appetizer which tasted so bright and flavorful! They serve complimentary cake on your birthday too which is so thoughtful!

We arrived 15 minutes early with another couple for our wedding anniversary and we're seated a little sooner than reservation. My apologies for not taking pictures of the main courses. They were beautiful. Jeremiah and Caitlyn were our stylish, cordial and professional servers. Wife and I ordered a New England Lobster Bisque which had a modest amount of lobster and Sherry wine. Our friends ordered a crab cake which came with a mango, tomato and bell pepper relish. Both were divine. Wife and I shared a 16 oz prime rib prepared medium and agreed it was possibly the BEST prime rib we ever had. We shared some garlic mashed potatoes and heirloom carrots. Our friends ordered a Cowboy cut ribeye which has bone-in prepared medium with broccoli and mushrooms. We all thoroughly enjoyed our selections. We spoke with Cole Henry, General Manager. He is running a tight ship with the service and food second to none. We finished with carrot cake and 4 layer chocolate cake which were delicious and each big enough for 4 people. BIG shout out to Jeremiah who did an awesome job.

We arrived at 7:50 PM for an 8 PM reservation. We got cocktails at the bar, a whiskey sour and a Cosmo. Truthfully, we were not really impressed with our drinks. We were then seated around 8:15 PM. I tend to be picky regarding reservation times and honoring them so I was displeased by the wait... to my surprise this restaurant walked away with a 5 star review regardless. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Provided good recommendations that I'm sure improved our overall experience. We ordered the old fashion to share, per our waitresses recommendation and it made up for the pre-dinner cocktails! Delicious! Our appetizers, the burrata and heirloom tomatoes & stracciatella, were a good start! Good flavor and light enough for the starter. However, the French onion gratinee stole the show. Presentation was beautiful and flavor was on point for a classic French onion soup. I ordered the belly-on pork tomahawk and was very pleased with the tenderness and flavor, especially when I asked it to be cooked more medium well. My husband got the 22oz dry aged ribeye, the repeal way with the crab on top. He requested it be cooked medium rare plus and that's exactly what he received. He expressed how amazing the steak was cooked and the flavor. We shared a side of whipped Yukon potatoes that weren't too hot to dig into! These were creamy/buttery and perfect side for our entrees. As you can imagine, we were too full to have dessert but took a piece of cheesecake to go and shared later. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed the cheesecake. The blueberry compote was a delicious addition but the plain cheesecake shines all on its own! If I'm ever back in Louisville. I will be back and I'm bringing my friends.

It's on the pricier side but if you come hungry, I'd say it's well worth it for the amount you can eat and the quality. You begin with the AYCE salad bar, which has a wide range of olives, cheeses, salad toppings, smoked salmon, and even a delightful cold apple salad and potato salad. When we were seated, hot dishes came quickly. I loved all the sides - fried polenta, fried banana, mashed potatoes and cheese bread. You could request a few additional side items complimentary. I tried the fried yucca and was glad I did. Now, the MEAT! Once you turn your card to green, be ready! There was a constant flow of Gaucho chefs with the different varieties of meat. They were very attentive asking preference on cuts. When I was getting full, I wanted just one last piece of picanha. Not one, not two, but three Gaucho chefs stopped by within approximately one minute asking if there was a particular cut I would like while the first chef had gone back to the kitchen. The service was incredible.

But I believe they were sincere when they said they took my comments seriously and will look into the problems i noted. Original review below. Such a disappointment in so many ways. It started off nicely enough as I arrived for my reservation. I was given a choice of seating preferences (bar vs table) and my window-side table had a nice view outside and of the beautifully appointed room. Unfortunately things went downhill from there. I started with a drink and an appetizer as I considered the entree options. Prosciutto Montaditos: "toast topped with spreadable cheese and house-cured ham, drizzled with honey. The toast wasn't. It more resembled stale bread that was heated too long in a toaster oven: so dry it shattered into crumbs when I bit into it, with no browning on the outside and devoid of any flavor. The cheese, which might have been chèvre, was fine, but there was way too much of it. There was so little prosciutto (one thin slice per toast piece) that it could hardly be detected on its own and when I tried a small piece by itself I honestly couldn't tell the difference between this and something I'd buy at the grocery. But Cured specializes in house-cured meats so I expected to be wowed. As well, the honey drizzle was insufficient. When my waiter returned, not commenting on the mess of crumbs all over the table I made from attempting to eat this, and the substantial uneaten portions of bread and cheese, I placed my entree order. Knowing that the steaks here are a la carte, and sides are typically ordered separately (and the sides offered are very few) I inquired about the Rabo De Toro (oxtail, bell peppers, onions, garlic, carrots slow cooked with tomato paste and red wine), asking if it is a stew, like other oxtail preparations I have had. His answer was vague but he seemed to be saying yes. I ordered that. Entree arrived while I was still working on my appetizer, mid-chew with toast in hand. I had to scramble to make room for him to put it on my small table. Poor timing; a big no-no in a high end restaurant. It wasn't a stew. It was basically two chunks of meat on the plate, with a sauce on the side. It was tasty to be sure, and cooked expertly, but without any substantial vegetables (they were cooked down and used as a mirepoix to flavor the sauce) this disappeared quickly and left me wondering why I ordered it. The wording on the menu was so misleading, being more of a recipe than a description. And what's with the large flower on the plate? Edible flowers such as nasturtiums are welcome but this was something else so I asked Chatgpt which thinks it is a "purple orchid, most likely a Dendrobium, commonly used as an edible-looking but typically garnish-only on restaurant plates." So it may or may not be edible but it certainly wasn't appealing. Inedible or inappropriate garnishes have no business being on a food plate. I was drinking lightly that night so I kept it to one Aperol Spritz. It was good but why the tiny straw that didn't even reach the bottom of the glass? When the level got low and I could no longer use the straw I couldn't drink it without spilling ice and drink on myself given the rounded shape of the stem glass. When the waiter came back after I finished (the only time he did so) he asked how things were. "Well, since you asked," I began, calmly and clearly telling him of the many ways I was disappointed. He listened but didn't ask any followup questions, nor offered to pass on the feedback. All he did was apologize for my experience. Which was nice but woefully insufficient given the level of my dissatisfaction that I made clear. When he then asked if I wanted dessert I had to suppress a laugh! I wasn't going to take a chance of anything else going wrong. Even if was comped (which would be the courteous and appropriate thing to do in this situation but certainly not expected or required) I would have passed on it. He then returned with my check. Could things get any worse? Apparently they could. After a momentary shock looking at the huge number I quickly realized he gave me the wrong check! Easily straightened out as I looked around and saw another dining party also looking confused. As we exchanged checks between us I inquired how their meal went. Apparently they were satisfied. I'm happy for them. Mistakes happen and no big deal, but it was a darkly comical way to add insult to this highly disappointing experience. Before I left I stopped at the front to talk to the host, a young man. I again calmly explained my disappointment and asked that he pass on the feedback. He wouldn't even make eye contact, just sullenly looked down and muttered some sort of apology and assured me that he would pass it on. I doubt that he did. As I left he wished me, "Have a nice day," the sarcasm and derision inescapable. I wished him the same.

There were many seats at the bar as well as couch and chair areas. They also have bathrooms down there. Service was outstanding. We had a bourbon flight and some cocktails. Our server even took group pics for us. He also provided menus so we could be prepared for dinner. When our table was ready, we reconciled our check and headed back upstairs. Upstairs, we had amazing service also. I ordered a cocktail that they had on the downstairs menu, and not the regular menu. It did not faze our server. He said he would figure it out- and he did! After a round of drinks, we stayed with appetizers: meatballs, fritto misto, piatto di frutti di mare and the crab cake. Everything was devoured. I loved the crab cake and the meatballs. The fried calamari was pretty standard and the cold seafood platter was fine- I had an oyster off of it. For dinner, I had the "Pappardelle" : short rib ragu alla bolognese, grano padano, and added two seared scallops. Wow. The pasta is homemade. It was phenomenal. My husband had the "Maiale" : 16oz pork chop, cauliflower puree, chard, stone fruit, bourbon glaze. It was a large portion and cooked perfectly. So good. Our friends had steaks and sides, so I was able to try the Mac and cheese- which did not get congealed! The corn was delicious and the mushrooms were a variety. Of course we had dessert. I asked for cannoli and they had it! They weee not soggy. I had three different favors. I love cannoli. These were really good. We also shared the millionaire's tart and some sort of apple crumble with ice cream. Yum. We had more round of drinks throughout including some fun ones - see the treasure chest video. I would recommend this place. They have a great menu. Drinks were awesome. Service topped everything. They went out of their way for us multiple times. Thanks so much. We can't wait to come back again.

My hubby and I have an ongoing, unspoken competition: who can find the best steak in Louisville?…read moreThe one spot we always wanted to try closed a few years back, so every new place now has some pretty high expectations to meet -- from meal quality to overall experience to value. Hubby took me to one of the oldest steakhouses in town last fall, and even with three adults, the bill was noticeably lower than what we spent at this establishment. Service here gets a solid 5 stars -- everyone was attentive and personable. Ambience earns a strong 4 stars with a nice vibe that fits the area. The menu itself is intriguing, and every dish we ordered came out at the right temperature and well‑executed. Overall flavor was good. The desserts, however, didn't quite match the caliber we hoped for -- though to be fair, we're not professional food critics, so take that for what it's worth. Not sure yet if we'd return. If we did, it'd probably be with a larger group so we could share the dishes we enjoyed and make the price point feel a little more balanced. That said, the location is perfect for out‑of‑towners staying at the nearby hotels and those hitting the area's higher‑end entertainment spots.

It was a warm day and there were 4 fans helping circulate the air. There was also a small stage where a lovely woman sang a mix of Spanish and English songs. She was fantastic! The food was amazing! All of us got different dishes and we all loved them! I got the Ropa Vieja en Lata which was delicious!! It's served in a can that they opened table aide with a short history of lesson as to why. It was a great experience! The reat of the table got the Vaca Frita, the Cuban sandwich, and the Pescado Crujiente. Everyone raved about their food. I'll definitely be back to try their whole menu!

What a joke of a place!! Totally regret taking a taxi here ...what a waste of money!…read more Firstly, the person at the check in stand was horrible! And turned even worse and angry when I said I wanted a table as opposed to the offers bar. Not sure why these hosts at restaurant take such issue with a single person wanting a table rather than be crammed into a bar seat and then receive mediocre service from the bartenders! So I was told I had to wait 20 minutes. When they came to get me, guess where they sat me...in the bar!! WTAF?? Yes it was on a table, a broken table, unclean and sticky, but still in the bar in a crowded spot. As expected, zero service! I had to wait to even be greeted and when finally greeted...all I got was "what do you want to order?"! No help, no introduction, no hello or welcome! I was trying to figure out the menu and the bartender offered nothing! Said he would come back and then just disappeared! After about 10 minutes I chose to leave! What a mess! Maybe it's good...but I don't know and won't ever. I'll just go to a mom and pop place another night!
