So these guys get a lot of hoopla about their smoked wings. They are good. They're smoked though, and we got hot and garlic Parmesan. The hot tasted like smoke. The garlic parm not only tasted like only smoke, they had some kind of orange cheese sauce poured over them. So IMHO they are neither garlic nor parm. The Reuben was very kraut-y and we couldn't taste the meat. The pork tenderloin was ok as well. Fries were undercooked, onion rings and chicken tenders good. The service is very good and the place is clean and nice but we got takeout. It was solid pub food. Oh, and did I also mention the wings aren't breaded at all, so they're kinda tough and rubbery. I heard about Cunninghams from clients and about the time I decide to go they closed to move to new digs. So after a long wait I pooped into the new place tonight. It is still a work in progress. Although nice enough it is still not fully decorated and finished. But I did not come for the decor. I wanted to try several things, and I wanted bar food. It was taco night, so a chicken taco was first up. They use flour tortillas for both hard and soft here. I ordered hard and it was delicious. Well seasoned chunks of chicken garnished with lettuce and tomato. That's it. The nachos were also made with flour chips and were just awesome. The house-made cheese sauce is so good. Fresh jalapenos added fire. I am starting to think Omaha is a nacho town. I'd put these up there with Kathy's Nachos at Nettis and the Aztec Nachos at Stokes. The chicken wings here are smoked and then grill finished. They are a real treat, and vastly different in what you are probably used to. What sets Cunningham's apart from the other bar and grills in town is the food and the beer selection. Now you may find some place with better food. You will even find places with better beer. Cunninghams has a great variety on the menu. I happened to go on Saint Patrick's day when there was a modified menu. This modified menu didn't accommodate a gluten free person or have a salad option. We were one of 4 tables and it took a good 15 minutes for me to get a bottle of beer. I had to ask multiple times. I had to ask for side plates after the appetizer already arrived. After we ot our check we asked for to go boxes. Our server didn't give us enough. Then I asked another server for another box and bags. She arrived with a box but no bags. We didn't see our server until he grabbed the cash amd quickly walked away. I won't be returning here. read more

Not quite sure how this place stays so busy.. The beer is on the pricey side, but in their defense they do have a solid selection, if you're looking for something different. The sides and appetizers were delicious, and are the reason that this review got up to three stars. As for the entrées: have a beer and some fried apps here and then move on to another restaurant. The Italian chicken wrap was just OK, and the two burgers my friends got were not. The toppings were fine but the meat itself was dry, bland, and overcooked. My other two friends got the buffalo chicken sandwich and enjoyed it (which makes sense, as they seem to make good fried food and the chicken tenders were tasty). I had a fried appetizer combo, chicken wrap, burger, two pints and two 10oz beers, and a bacon Mac and cheese up charge (WELL worth it.. The Mac, like all the sides, was great), and my total came out to almost $70 for my girlfriend and I, including tip. The ambiance, and certainly the food, were not worth it. Stopped in for dinner tonight, first visit. I was happy to hear Sunday is all day happy hour. The happy hour menu is lacking. Only a few items and $1 off house wine and well drinks. There are 1,000 better places for happy hour. I ordered a reuben and upgraded my fries to sweet potato fries. My reuben was amazing. The sweet potato fries had a smidge of powdered sugar. It worked well. The portion of fries was tiny. Fries are cheap, don't be afraid to pile them on! My fries were not hot either. I probably won't return. Three words sum up this restaurant. BEST WINGS EVER! Their wings literally ruined wings for me, I cannot order them anywhere else as I am always disappointed. Ok, I know what you're thinking, they can't be that good....Tanners or Oscars is the best in Omaha. I was just as skeptical..... until I tried the Four Alarm wings. Words cannot describe how delicious they are. What makes this wing so amazing is they are smoked for many hours then grilled to order. They have started to go downhill. They have jacked up the prices and cut a lot of really good items out of their menu. The wings used to be $8 and only $6 during happy hour. They are now $13 and seem to be more dry, smaller wings, and instead of having a nice char, they are just burnt. Gone are some of their best dishes like the chicken caesar, the shrimp pasta, and that amazing smoked prime rib. Seems like just a beer and sandwich place now instead of the high end pub food restaurant that it used to be. The last two times I've visited there has been at least one very loud drunk obnoxious guy that yells at the waitresses and carries on loud conversations with whoever he's with. I'm not sure if it's the same guy. I don't mind drunken buffoons, but when it's Tuesday at 6pm and you're yelling at your waitress and yelling about cheating on your wife then it's time the staff get you under control. read more

This was our first time at the new location which I don't think is all that new anymore. We came here for a little later than usual dinner. One of the NHL final games was on and blasting at max volume. It's a good thing I enjoy screaming at my husband while sitting a foot away from him! This is definitely a bar. Their beer menu was great. I had a 16oz Zipline Copper Alt. It was interesting and very good. Unfortunately this was the best part of our visit. I had the blackened chicken sandwich with fries. It is supposed to be their #1 sandwich. It is a grilled chicken breast with pepper jack cheese, bacon, and chipotle aioli. One half of the sandwich was good, the other half was tasteless. Bizarre I know. The only thing I could figure out is the blackened seasoning that was on the chicken was caked on one half and nonexistent on the other. The fries were good. They were cooked just right and had a good seasoning on them. My husband ordered the pepper burger. It comes with fresh jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, pepper bacon, and a red pepper aioli. He said it packed quite a hot punch and he loves heat!! I will not mention our servers name, but suffice to say she was one of the worst we have had. Every part of the meal was a struggle, from getting refills, to placing the order, to getting the bill. Not only that, but she was not friendly at all. I don't think she cracked a smile the entire time. I will say that they were pretty busy for a weeknight at 8:00pm and to me it looked like she was the only server. However, when you have a major game going on and you also have your patio open, you need to be prepared and have more people there. That's on the owners/manager. Every time I looked around for our server though she was nowhere to be seen so I don't really know where she was or what was going on. What I do know is I liked the other location much better as it had a separate space for those who didn't want to eat in the bar. We will not be returning here as it was a terrible experience and we left highly disappointed. Cunningham's is located in a small strip mall on Dodge. From the outside, it doesn't really catch the eye and even has its main entrance on the side (a little odd). The interior is a modern take on American pubs, and has the standard TV's with ESPN on. There was also a monitor near the entrance that seemed to be showing a bingo game. Really odd. There was also a random upside down bicycle and a plastic santa lawn decoration towards the back. Again, quite strange. The food however, was delicious. My colleagues and I all got the cajun chicken soup and the blackened chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The soup was a little spicy and had a decent amount of chicken it it, making it a great start to lunch on a cold winter day. The blackened chicken sandwich was great, with moist, tasty chicken on a bun that wasn't overly greasy. The sweet potato fries came with what appeared to be powdered sugar on top of them. I thought this was a bit weird but it ended up making the fries taste pretty good. Overall, the portion size was just right for lunch and was satisfying. My table was about to get the PB&J wings but decided that the sandwich would be enough food after the waiter offered his 2 cents. I would come here again for lunch. read more

The onions and peppers looked like they never went on the grill. The "smoky cheddar sauce" was delicious but didn't bring enough flavor to the sandwich to make it worth paying for. First night in town for a wedding, my wife and I settled on Cunningham's because it was close to our hotel. Wish we had driven farther. I should have lowered my expectations when I ordered the Drunken Jerk Chicken Sandy & a side of coleslaw and the waitress responded, "Oh. Interesting choice." The sandwich was devoid of jerk seasoning, so I can only assume that the chicken sandwich's name was a reflection of the cook who prepared it. I'm an onion-lover but the hot, hot onions in the coleslaw dominated. I couldn't eat it. My wife's hamburger tasted like it came off Wendy's grill; bland and no noticeable seasoning to speak of. In contrast to my coleslaw, her onion rings lacked any onion flavor. They tasted like deep-fried batter. The only part of the meal that met expectations was the Vanilla Stout that I ordered with my meal. Smooth, with no hint of bitterness. But I won't be going back just for the beer. read more
