We ordered 4 drinks - 2 Vietnamese Coffees , salted plum soda, an Americano and 2 lox bagels. The food came out pretty quickly and really liked the Everything Bagel, it was toasted and had a good amount of cream cheese. We also had the Americano shortly after. Unfortunately the other 3 drinks took about 25 minutes to come out, well after everyone else sitting down received their orders. There were 2 baristas working, so I'm not sure why it took so long. There wasn't an acknowledgment of the delay either, which was a little disappointing. Perhaps an off day, but I'm hoping that next time I'll have a better experience. read more

Ohhhhh how I love this place!! First of all, the establishment is so cute, the patio is lovely, the vibes there are just perfect. Nicest people too. They make all the pastries in house, and their drinks are so unique and made with really good quality ingredients. Try all their matchas!!! But I'd totally recommend the ones made with coconut water if you want something different and refreshing. The other reason why I love this place is because every weekend they have fun events and popups! A must visit!! read more

The most adorable neighborhood cafe! Stopped by for coffee & a quick bite. The space is so bright & inviting and the staff were incredibly kind from the moment we stepped in. I loved the seasonal menu offerings. We opted for a carrot cake late & honey orange latte. Both were unique and delicious and not too suite. We also got the lox bagel which was delicious and topped it off with a hand pie from the pastry case, which I absolutely loved! Street parking can be a little crowded but we found a spot. I've enjoyed taking cooking classes at Picnic, just going for coffee, and I've been to one of their pop-ups with a local bookstore. I recently discovered Picnic Cafe and have visited 3 times since discovery. They may not be known for their everything bagels but they are very good for SLC. Each time, I have ordered an iced strawberry matcha and my partner usually drinks an iced latte. The iced latte's are good and reliable. The iced raspberry matcha is on the sweeter side, in my opinion. The sweetness is not overwhelming but is notable compared to my other go-to matcha spot. They have a quaint inside seating area with spots to get work done. If you're there to chat, their outdoor patio is where I'd choose to sit. Parking throughout the neighborhood around, there are not assigned spots available. My one complaint is that they open at 8 am. I would love to occasionally stop by on my way to work but that is far too late. I haven't been to any other coffee shops in SLC that aren't open until 8. read more

Picnic Cafe is amazing! This is absolutely my favorite cafe in SLC. It's so cozy and welcoming. All the baristas are wonderful. I have tried several of their drinks and some of my favorites are their Vietnamese Latte with Corn Cream and Banana Crème Pie Latte. Their bagels are also delicious. I am obsessed with the dill pickle cream cheese that they have right now. Parking is super easy in the neighborhood. This is a wonderful spot to meet with friends or get some work done! read more

I've been touring through the cafes in SLC and would definitely put this one on the list of places to stop. They have great options from the pastry counter with rotating flavors. Publik coffee beans for their drinks and a really welcoming environment. It's clean and simple inside and the drinks are great. It's street parking, but tucked off the busy roads, so easier to access. Plenty of seating for a reasonable sized group and open seating to work from during the week day. read more

I'm from Los Angeles and this cafe is by FAR the best coffee I've have had in Utah and the best coffee shop I've been to in Utah. I got the halva latte and it is delicious. I love that their coffee is not acidic at all compared to other coffee shops in Utah. The price of the coffee is similar to the price of coffee at other coffee shops in Salt Lake City but 1000% worth the price. All their baked goods are homemade and the people who work here are so kind and have such good energy. Definitely a great place to start your day. It is also a great place to study or get some work done. They have wifi and have quite a few outlets along the wall. Since I am in school during the day, I do wish their hours were a little longer or open earlier, but it is a nice treat for me to come on the weekends. They do not have a parking lot, but parking is pretty easy since they are located in a nice quiet neighborhood near Liberty park. If you are in the area you MUST come to picnic cafe!! read more

I wandered in for a quick coffee but I couldn't resist having a scone and sitting on their outside patio for a minute. The coffee options were unique and everything sounded so good, i ended up going for an orange creamsicle latte, it was delicious and i was pleasantly surprised by the cost. They don't charge extra for milk substitutions and that's such a breath of fresh air. The chai apple pie scone was so good that my friend and I couldn't split just one we had to grab a second one. Picnic Cafe has my absolute favorite chai! I come here for the chai alone - it just has the perfect flavoring - not too sweet, not too spicy. It's the best. In addition to my favorite chai, the staff here is always so friendly, kind, and welcoming! Truly a wonderful experience every time I come here. They have a limited food menu that I've personally never tried, but it looks delicious and in writing this review I think I've influenced myself to go try it this afternoon. This spot is so consistent. Each and every time I visit the Vietnamese coffee is on point, the service is kind, welcoming, patient and the space always has a nice flow of people in and out. I have also had a few of their pastries and can confirm they are fresh and delicious. Parking is usually ok, but you may have to park within the neighborhoods and walk a ways. read more

The Picnic Café is a quaint corner coffee shop where I can imagine all the locals show up on any given morning to get a cup of joe and catch up with their friends. Or at least that's how I imagine it to be. I visited recently and met up with someone and enjoyed a medium roast on drip. The atmosphere is bright and open and it gets a little loud when there are lots of people carrying on conversations. The energy and vibe is casual but welcoming and the folks behind the counter are professional and welcoming. I noticed that they sell coffee that you can buy by the package and take home to enjoy. Menu is overpriced, with small food portions (more of a café than breakfast/brunch). But the oat milk cappuccino and matcha we ordered were both very quality and delicious. Picnic SLC is my and my family's very favorite spot to go to on the weekend mornings! I'd come everyday if we lived downtown, but it's 10000% worth driving 20ish minutes to for us every weekend! I can't get over the Vietnamese iced coffee with salted pandan cream on top. This is a special menu item and I will be so sad when it rotates out. But if they're making things like this, I know the next creation will be awesome too. I do wish they'd offer a wider range of specialty bakery items.
