Perfect brunch place :) It's a cute little cafe in the middle of downtown Vista. The couple times I've been here have been pretty busy - I can tell it definitely has a little following of regulars. First time I went here I got breakfast with my sister: - She got the Monte Cristo: it's ham and cheese sandwiched between two thick slices of french toast. She really liked it. Perfect balance between salty and sweet. - I got the salmon scramble. It was pretty good. The salmon had a smoky flavor to it; on the savory side. Second time I went here for brunch with my boyfriend: - He got the french toast with bacon on the side: I didn't eat any of it but he really liked it, which is kind of a big deal because he is one of the pickiest eaters I know. The bacon looked nice and crispy - perfectly cooked. - I got the crab cake sandwich. It was so tasty. Like it's name it was a big crab cake sandwiched between two buns with lettuce and tomatoes. Went here today for lunch and it was amazing! Open inside and outside seating, which is why we came in the first place, but on top of that, great service, quick to get our food and the food was better than we expected! Husband had the Italian omelette and he really liked it and I had huevos rancheros and it was delicious. Kids had pancakes and they looked delicious as well. One thing I really enjoyed was their fruit bowls as a side option. Curbside used to be a place where my wife and I frequented almost weekly for years, but the service here has turned us away now for sure. We noticed during the summer of 2021 that it was almost impossible to get a hold of someone through the phone to make an order. We understand due to high volume of business, but we have had workers answer the phone, tell us to hold, and proceed to hang up MULTIPLE times. This continued on for almost a month and we decided to take a break from here. Fast forward to this past Sunday when we decided to once again give Curbside a shot. I called to place an order and was promptly greeted with an employee picking up the phone only to just hang it up right away before anyone could say hello. We seriously used to love Curbside, but I'm not sure we can even admit that anymore after the poor service. If I was rating just on food it would be a 5 but over-all I would give a 4. I love sitting outside! My favorite is the waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, can't go wrong! They have everything from smoothies, espressos, to eggs and sandwiches. I'm pretty sure they have something for everyone! My first time was a little confusing, wasn't quite sure what to do stood around for a few mins. Now I know just tell the girls i'm sitting outside! Great huevos rancheros. One of the rare times I have asked for my eggs over medium and they were cooked perfectly. Coffee isn't watered-down, which is usually my experience at a breakfast cafe. Last week a friend and I went to Curbside Cafe for the first time. I had the Belgian Waffle with whip cream and strawberries and a side of bacon. This is my "go to" meal when I go out for breakfast. This was very good. Since it is strawberry season, the berries were ripe and delicious, and the waffle was crisp and sprinkled with powdered sugar. I thought the bacon was perfectly cooked, crispy but not burnt. My friend had 2 pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. If you like large thick pancakes, then this is the place for you. Loved this spot. Have spent a lot of money and get togethers here. Like that it is local, food is good and nice atmosphere. Last couple of visits the vibe was kinda of off. Like " oh, its them." Dont know why! We are really easy, polite people. Bring my kid here and always tip 25+%. Service is off and on. We know most of the staff, at this point. Typically good, but our last visit was aweful. Maybe it was the wait staffs first day, but not attentive and forgot half of what we ordered. Sat for 35 minutes before being asked what we would like to drink. Stated we wanted coffee and water. Came back with just coffee. Than we sat for another 35 minutes ( without refill) untill they came back to take our order. Order taken, then sat for another 40 minutes while other guests who were seated after us received their food! Finally our food comes. Half the order was missing. No condiments. My daughter ordered just a pancake. No syrup for 20 minutes! Wait staff said it was a delay from the kitchen. Doubt it. People behind us ate the same thing and got theirs! Aweful. I typically dont write reviews, but this one got me because we are locals and want to support local businesses. But this day makes me not want to! I hope the staff gets better training. I was here this past weekend and had eggs benedict and an espresso. You get a choice of potatoes or hash browns with most breakfast items. The poached eggs were perfect and the espresso was strong and flavorful. The staff was super friendly and it was a great atmosphere overall. Amazing!!!!!! I do not live anywhere near here and only came to visit a family member. I yelped and this place came up for a nice brunch so we went. They are known for their eggs Benedict on a crab cake from what I saw so that's what I went with. It comes with a side of potatoes, and I added a side of the coffee cake as well. The eggs Benedict was amazing! Cooked perfectly so that it was runny when you cut into it. The crab cake was just OK taste wise. The coffee cake is so good, light, and sweet as well!! Wow, I haven't been here for a long time and it was always good, but it has gotten a lot better. I had the Greek omelete with the fruit salad. Very tasty omelete with feta cheese, spinach, Greek olives, and sun dried tomatoes. Plus, the fruit salad that came with it was equally as amazing. Getting to know downtown Vista and this place was very good. We sat outside and the service was super fast. We ordered and the food came out in what seemed like minutes. My fiancé had the tuna melt and it was super delicious. My daughter had the kids grilled cheese and fries and she said it was super good. I had the huevos rancheros and it was just okay, the best part was the crispy tortillas at the bottom but the "red sauce" was not that, it was salsa and it was way too much of it.
