The baristas were friendly and efficient. The London fog I had was DElightful; one of the best I've had in awhile! The club sandwich on Rosemary was also quite delicious. The ambiance is a 2/5, as it's super bare bones and they look like they spent about $10 on tables and chairs. Setting up a couch with cozy seats would be a warm touch! Cure is one of my favorite remote employee offices. I'm probably in at least every 4-5 weeks for a meeting, one of their events, or just to work among people. Plenty of seating. A variety of tables. Great lattes. Promos and events to celebrate special days (like Harry Potter's Birthday). Sadly, with this COVID-19 situation, it may be a while before I can sit in a crowded coffee shop. Cure's dining room may be currently closed, but they still have plenty for you to pick up! I visited earlier this week for a curbside MexiMocha latte. The process was easy. I ordered in advance using their website. There is a separate item you will need to add to leave a tip for the staff. It's the first option when you launch the ordering site, you can't miss it. When I arrived, I just gave them a call, and it was brought out to my car parked in one of the street spaces. They are also offering family meals, mimosa kits, and more! The best Coffeehouse for a Dirty Chai Latte!! Cure Coffeehouse has a special place in my heart! This coffee shop is located in the beautiful neighborhood of the Freemason district. I used to live in this area and would routinely walk my dog and make a stop to order some coffee. Now that I have moved out of this area, it's a little difficult to stop by anymore. But I try to come visit on the weekends or when I am in downtown Norfolk. The Coffeehouse is aesthetically pleasing on the inside and gives you the typical coffee house "vibes". They have merchandise near the counter and support local artists/coffee beans from the Norfolk area. It's also cool that they have art work hanging along the walls for customers to view and potentially purchase. This place has a lot of seating options and great to hang out with friends or have a study session. They have limited outdoor seating and it's usually for a party of 2 and perfect for your furry little friends with you. My go to order is always a Dirty Chai Latte with Oat Milk. I used to come here so often that the baristas knew my order as the "regular" lol. If it's your first time or you are not sure what to order, I always recommend the Dirty Chai Latte. It will change your life and no other Dirty Chai Latte will ever taste as great as this one. The food is also amazing here! My favorite pastry is the Egg Tarts. It's harder to find on the weekdays but they usually have a fresh batch on the weekends. All pastries are freshly made by Cure and it's switched out for a variety of different pastries. They also do seasonal or themed pastries for example like Harry Potter month. Another item that's delicious off their food menu, is the Salmon and Lox if you're wanting something filling. This coffeehouse maybe be a little bit more on the pricey side, but it's worth it! I recommend this coffee shop to anyone that wants to try great quality coffee, and also a place to sit down and hang out. THIS place.. is AMAZING. My wife and I come here relatively often to work on homework, or just relax and have a coffee and a bite to eat. I ALWAYS order the hangover helper. They really mound it on there! My wife opted for the morning cure sandwich this time and she also said hers was amazing. It tasted very fresh, felt very light, but was also very filling. My wife had a caramel latte (hot) and I had an americano (also hot). The latte was sweet, but not too sweet, and a great temperature for sipping upon arrival to our table. The americano was smooth, also not piping hot (which I prefer), and had great flavor. They have some outdoor seating, but we always sit inside. The inside is very cute, decorated nicely and always smells amazing. There is art hung on the walls, some painted, some digital, almost all for purchase to support local artists. In addition, the free wifi is always a plus. Cute coffee shop near the water! I was visiting norfolk from williamsburg and a friend took me here after a walk. As soon as we walked in, it smelled so good! Coffee and food! Stopped in during a walk on the Elizabeth River Trail. Cure is in the perfect location for a mid-walk caffeine fuel up and a snack if need be. It was pretty busy with other under-caffeinated souls, but it was also 8am on a Saturday so that was to be expected. Everyone was wearing a mask and socially distanced. The staff were quickly taking orders and working to get them out. I ordered the Creme Brûlée latte with coconut milk and it was good. They don't have almond milk which is usually my go to. Next time I will definitely choose a different milk because the coconut was overpowering and drown out any creme brûlée flavor. It was a good latte though! I bet oat milk would have been better. My husband, on the other hand, ordered the Pumpkin Chai Latte and it was delicious! Perfectly Fall with warm spice. I'm not usually a huge fan of chai, but I would order this for sure. Cure also carries Counter Culture coffee. I picked up a bag of the Finca la Victoria beans during our visit. It notes pecan, vanilla, and red apple flavors and that's definitely what I get after brewing a cup of this. Since we have taken up walking on the ERT this fall, I am excited that there is this lovely coffeehouse on our journey. I can't wait to go back and try something new! read more

The handcrafted lattes with there unique flavor assortment and combinations are wonderful. My family mixes flavors all the time and never disappoints. The staff is always helpful and nice. During week days I would order in store, but on weekends I would recommend ordering online due to the store being busy and with Covid-19. Ordering online is very easy and convenient, however the past experience online was not very good. The order was said to be ready at a certain time, but when I got to the store it was not ready. Ten minutes later it was ready, I think this was a isolated incident because other orders that were online appeared to be ready when customers walked in. I've been to cure a couple of times now for coffee hangouts and once even an art show. Their ambience is very laid back with plenty of space for people to hang out or study. They also offer a variety of things for a coffeehouse including coffees, teas, pastries, sandwiches, and even wine! I've had their drip coffee in the past which is a great go to for people who like plain old coffee. Most recently, I wanted to jazz things up so I decided to get a lavender honey latte. Overall, I'd say it was a pretty tasty drink- you can definitely taste the lavender! The reason I give Cure a 4 instead of 5 is because I do think their menu items are slightly overpriced compared to other coffee shops I've been to. I paid slightly over 6 dollars for my latte which I think is a little much for a regular sized specialty latte. Another caveat I have is that they charge extra for oat milk- I know a lot of cafes do that now but having been to cafes that don't, I always tend to dislike it when they expect me to pay a dollar more for a different type of milk. Overall a great cafe though! I probably will just stick to getting regular coffee from now on. read more

I can't believe this was my first time here! It was a beautiful sunny day and we decided on some brunch. Boy am I glad we came here! Even with this COVID-19 pandemic we're in, it looked well spaced out and still had a good amount of people inside and out. We went right to the counter. My daughter ordered her usual (this is her favorite spot in town) and I opted for a Mounds Iced latte and their salmon and lox. The Mounds Iced latte was very tasty. Nothing fancy, just served in a Cure glass sans straw. The salmon lox was delicious! Annnd beautiful! It had just the perfect amount of cream cheese with lots of capers, small bits of purple onion, fresh dill and a cute lemon spiral. We ordered a bagel and had to pay .50 cent for a slice of butter and also the extra $2 for gluten free to be later told that its still cooked in the same fashion that non gluten items are made. This review is based upon recent visits made this year before the temporary operational changes were implemented as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Norfolk location of Cure Coffeehouse was founded in February of 2011 and occupies a historic building on the cobblestone Botetourt Street in the Freemason district of downtown Norfolk. On street parking is available. Members of the nearby downtown Norfolk YMCA can use their parking garage a short walk away. After placing and paying for your order at the counter, you take a number and find a seat. Your order is brought to you. There are now three dining areas available as a result of a recent expansion. The popularity of this spot was a revelation. It was bursting at the seams with patrons during each of my visits. I was lucky to find the last seat available on two occasions. Their coffee is sourced from Counter Culture Coffee in Durham, North Carolina. I am not a coffee person, but I have enjoyed the following beverages to date: HOT CHOCOLATE: Cure gets my vote for my favorite hot chocolate in Norfolk. Enjoyed on a cold winter day, the bubbles and the soft and foamy whipped cream radiated with warmth. The leaf art was stunning. My Rating: 5 Stars. MATCHA LATTE: Ordered hot with whole milk and sweetened with honey, the flavor of matcha didn't pull any punches and gave me a nice energy boost. Once again, the leaf art sparkled. My Rating: 5 Stars. CHAI LATTE: The chai latte is one of my new discoveries, and it was here where I tried one for the first time this year. I have since tried chai lattes at two other coffeehouses, but the one served here, again made with whole milk, exhibits a depth of flavor that beats the others by far. My Rating: 5 Stars. On to the food: AVOCADO TOAST: Fresh Avocado Mash with Salt, Pepper, and Sesame Seeds on Toasted Wheat Bread. I added Bacon, Tomatoes, and Lox for small up charges. The thickness of the toast, the crispy crunch of the bacon, the tartness of the tomatoes, and the flavors of the lox and avocado mash came together beautifully for a totally delicious taste experience. My Rating: 5 Stars. BUDDHA BOWL: Fresh Avocado Mash, Chickpeas, Baby Kale, Red Onions, Tomatoes, Purple Cabbage, and Watermelon Radishes with Tahini Maple Dressing. This one succeeded nicely as a light and flavorful salad offering. My only disappointment was that the watermelon radishes exhibited a monochromatic red instead of the usual rainbow of colors I expected. My Rating: 4.5 Stars. PASTRAMI REUBEN: Tender House Smoked Pastrami, Melted Swiss, House Sauerkraut, and Russian Dressing on Toasted Marbled Wheat Bread. This was a solid and respectable pastrami sandwich that was thick, rich, and flavorful. It came in two halves, and I had to take the second one home. A few bites of the bread, however, left me with a dry aftertaste. My Rating: 4 Stars. GRANOLA PARFAIT: Greek Yogurt, House Granola, Fresh Seasonal Fruit, and Honey Drizzle. This parfait lacked the amount of chill I prefer and was closer to room temperature. I found the volume of yogurt to be overwhelming in proportion to the amount of granola. The texture of the yogurt was overly thick for my tastes. On the upside, the juiciness of the blueberries and strawberries came to the rescue to deliver an overall satisfactory taste experience. My Rating: 3 Stars. BAGEL: A Toasted Everything Bagel with your choice of toppings. I kept it simple and only added the bacon. The bagel came in four slices and delivered an excessively dry taste and texture that were a struggle to eat. The bacon bits were crispy and tasty, but were unable to rescue the bagel slices. My Rating: 2.5 Stars. When I crunch the numbers, my final score still averages out to a solid 4-star rating. Service has been very friendly during each of my visits. I find myself at Cure at least once a week. I have to say I admire there creativity during the pandemic and being able to help keep the customers and employees safe when exchanging food. You can order online and pick it up, however if you are in the area and stop by, you will notice they use a baby monitor to communicate to customers outside the store. I took interest in their lemonades recently and I have tried both the Lavender and Peach. Between the two, Peach was my favorite. It was so refreshing and tasteful.
