Arguably the best cocktail bar in America. Delicious bites are available, but we come here regularly because Cure will transport you to cocktail nirvana. Our most recent visit last night was no exception, and service from bartender Chris was above and beyond. His "End Credits" cocktail was particularly divine. I stopped in after a show seeing that this place was still open upwards of 10PM when few other places were. I stopped in expecting only cocktails, but luckily they indulged my need to snack and we got a charcuterie board to split. The cocktails are nothing short of fantastic. Some incredibly interesting twists on classics, and some fascinating combinations that are sure to become new favorites. I'm not much of a gin drinker, but couldn't stop raving about how positively delicious my gin cocktail was. I went so far as to buy my boyfriend their cocktail book for Christmas. Cure has become our favorite "special" bar. We know we're going to spend more money here than at "the corner bar", and we know that on a busy night, we may not get in without reservations. But, we've only been turned away once, and the other times, we've been blown away. You hear the word "craft" a lot with cocktails. Well, this place defines that. And the folks behind the bar are true craft people that clearly enjoy what they do. Even when they're busy, the staff is very engaging and friendly. I usually order one of their specialty drinks, and my GF always asks for them to makes something up for her with a few guidelines. And we always, each time, enjoy every sip of these amazing drinks. Last night, I had the two best Sazeracs I've every had. My GF also ordered some food - sorry, I didn't catch what it was called - maybe mushroom toast(?). Amazing. We had just come from what was supposed to be a fine-dining meal elsewhere and wished that that food was as good as this. A lot of whiskey/bourbon and tequila cocktails which is a bummer when you don't really drink that. Cacio E Pepe Deviled Eggs were yummy but doing the most. Like a whole block of shredded cheese on top of them. Meatballs were #3 on my list of meatballs in the city, really enjoyed the bread their served with and extra sauce to dip. Cute bar on freret that's perfect for a nice date night or just catching up with friends. The drinks were wonderful. I tried the lotus cup, a spin of pimms cup, and highly recommend. The deviled eggs had a great texture and perfect amount of flavor to them. The only downside I'd say is that at night the lights are nonexistent except for the candles on the table so it was pretty difficult reading the menu. Cure = Happy Hour I'm not a math wizard or anything but don't double check my math. Cure has become quite notorious for their happy hour and their punch of the day. This spot is perfect for a first date (one of my go-to spots) or a few drinks with friends. It's basically open seating but I personally enjoy sitting at the bar. They even have an outdoor patio if weather permits! They have small bites available if you're wanting to nibble on something other than your arm if you start to get hangry. The server spilled one of our drinks all over an individual In our party. Two waitress then laughed and brought over towels laughing while apologizing. When the check came over they charged us for every drink ordered. When asked about the spilled drink that whet all over an individual at our table it was ignored. It's very clear cure has poor management and training. Have come multiple times will never return. You spill a drink on a customer you don't ask them to pay for it. Came here on the recommendation of a local and so very glad I was directed to this Gem of a place that was formerly unknown to me at all. Given my love for New Orleans restaurants, that's surprising! Started out with a classic House Old Fashioned, and followed with a "surprise me" drink and our bartender/cocktail wizard came up with a "Busy Signal". Both drinks were very well made. The atmosphere was sleek with clean lines and just the right lighting for mood. For a late night "snack" enjoyed the Risotto Alla Carbonara and finished the night with a "Night Service" - also delicious. I went here with my friend who had been here once before and said "we have to come here when you visit New Orleans." The ambiance in the bar is impeccable; its dark and quiet and is a FANTASTIC place to sit and talk and have amazing cocktails. I got the Allora, a seasonal cocktail, and it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. We also ordered the house pickles and when our waitress forgot to put the order in, she comped them for us. I think the pickles were just alright (and I'm a pickle fan). Our waitress was super friendly and patient with us since we needed some time to go over the extensive, ever-changing menu. I also overheard one of the bartenders talking to some other guests and he was super knowledgeable about everything on the menu. CANNOT recommend this place enough. read more

Thoughtful and complex concoctions spring forth from behind the bar with spirits and ingredients that would be hard to come by anywhere else. The lovely courtyard in which you are surrounded by plants is the perfect place to wile away an afternoon sipping ingeniously constructed cocktails. Matt took exceptionally good care of us both times we came in. The food was delicious and interesting but the cocktails, those are incredible, to say the least. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu here, frankly. The mushroom toast was absolutely delicious and they have Marcona almonds, which is always a great sign. Some of the things we tried were the Night Service, Prize Fighter #6, the fancy Mai Tai, Heat Check and Business and Pleasure, Leon's Share-a take on the Negroni. Etc. They were all amazing. I was particularly blown away by the Lyons's Share as I strongly dislike Negroni type cocktails, my husband ordered it and I found myself taking several sips to enjoy the subtle and nuanced flavors. The waitress was busy taking to her friend, so we were there for 10 mins and she never mentioned about 20% tips are included in the bill(so we ended pausing for ~40% of the tips, so make sure you provide the correct amount of the "additional" tips when you visit. New Orleans is not New York, but if you want to pretend like you're in the Big Apple - with pretentious hostesses and overpriced drinks - then this place is for you. I've been twice. Neither time was crowded. Both times I was greeted by an under enthusiastic hostess who told me I was "allowed to stand at the bar" but couldn't sit down because I didn't have reservations. It was midweek and the place was basically empty. I was foolish enough to stay both times. The snacks were fine and the drinks were good (although very small and served in dirty glasses), but service was very slow, everything was overpriced, and the staff unbearably pretentious. The escargot was decent, but definitely not the best I've had. The meatballs were definitely tasty (the best thing we ordered). The mushroom toast was meh. We grabbed a few drinks, and they were pretty tasty. Their happy hour margarita is solid. The biggest downside for us was the vibe - I saw some reviews where people raved about it, but for us it was just WAY too dark in this place to even see what we were doing. Like - "use the flashlight on my phone to see the menu" dark, even sitting right at the bar. Could have just been the night we went in, but the staff was pretty grumpy, too. Love love love this place! Very chill vibes, great staff, and great drinks. This place reminds me of my fav bar/cocktail place in Chicago called Barrelhouse flat - so definitely fell in love with CURE :) I had 2 of the fall specials - one with honey and one called "I'll be calling" or something similar. They both were very very good. The dirty martini my friend had was also very good! The cocktails were $10-$14 and most definitely worth it! They do serve appetizers/small plates, but I'm pretty sure the kitchen closed @11pm. If you're in NOLA I definitely recommend this place!! I came here with a group to have after dinner drinks. One of my friends warned me ahead of time that Cure is in an unmarked building. I struggled to find the entrance and then had to ask other guests if I was where I thought I was lol. The inside area was upscale and the patio area (where we sat) was nicely done as well. I liked the complexity of the cocktail menu, but in some cases it wasn't clear what all the ingredients were in the drinks (specifically the alcohol). I finally ordered the Spring Fever. It was weak, interesting and confusing at the same time. It then made sense why they choose not to include the specific alcohol...because there probably was none. I'm certain I was given a plain, fruity beverage. The other guests were underwhelmed also. All of that to say, I didn't see a reason to want to come back here. read more

We got there around 10 and it wasn't too crowded. We sat on the adorably lit back patio; very cozy and clean! A great spot to go late night that's not a drunken mess. My girlfriend got the Pimm's Cup and I got a bourbon cocktail. Easily the best drinks we had on our whole Nola trip. Also, order the pimento cheese because whoa. Removed one star for cost being slightly above what I'd expected for the area, and for the service being slower than expected for the size of the crowd. Still overall loved it. read more
